Across the street from the Christchurch Town Hall, this unfussy, all-suite hotel in the Central Business District is a 2-minute walk from Christchurch Casino and 8 minutes on foot from the Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetu.Bright, modern 1- and 2-bedroom suites feature free Wi-Fi and smart TVs, plus living/dining areas, kitchens and washer/dryers. Family suites have video game consoles. Upgraded suites add whirlpool baths and/or furnished balconies overlooking the city.Breakfast (surcharge) is served in a cosy restaurant/bar. Pets may be accepted with prior notice (fee).
Older but still very elegant hotel. Full facilities with kitchen and 2 bedrooms. Daily house keeping and very well located. Will add some photos soon.
Very nice will stay again. Read the reviews and couple negative ones but found nothing wrong myself.
Overall was disappointing. Not helpful staff and room is outdated and disgusting. I stayed with my partner and would not recommend. There are nearby hotel like sudima and wyndham! Parking is not free and never available onsite parking space. They won’t clean your room everyday! The list goes on
Sad staff on reception. Whole place has a dark old feeling about it. No parking or assistance from reception about where to park. Very expensive breakfast, that looked terrible.
Great rooms at a really good price. You get more than you paid for. Highly recommended.
The aisan man at the reception is very lazy and arrogant, offering very bad customer service. I feel very uncomfortable.
All the comforts of home kitchen, washer dryer, family dining table, huge bed. Enjoyed the stay
Nice clean place to stay but noisy fan going off and on overnight
Stayed one night in a one bedroom apartment before my partner and I headed to our road trip. The room was spacious but a bit dated. The kitchen was ok just needed one sharper knife! Couldn’t cut the tomatoes properly. The fridge was big enough though. If there’re washing machine and dryer that would be better. The bathroom was ok, shower was great, just water spitting out after shower. The heater was just next to the main door which was definitely installed in a wrong position as the room was just cold. Same thing happened to the fan heater in the bathroom. One thing annoyed us was the staffs asked us to park outside the Wilson parking next door and didn’t give us an undercover parking lot in the hotel until we found out. That’s bad as we paid for the parking so should treat every customer the same. Overall just ok for us!
Huge room, very comfortable and good for price.
Good location! ts not a modern hotel, no TV in the bedroom, no USB ports, bodywash was not provided, shampoo and conditioner were. The bedroom had a window to the internal corridor of the hotel which had a light on the whole night and the curtain provided did not block all the light. Heatpump provided but remote control was not working had to turn the heatpump on directly on the unit so had no idea what temperature was pumping out but it was hot. The shower pressure was weak but hot. I have not checked anything else in the hotel. I have not experienced their serviced as I stayed just 1 night.
Fantastic stay, nice large beds, very clean and tidy
Great place clean and tidy..central in town ...would book hea again
Our room was spacious and pleasant enough despite being outdated and a few damages. Decent basic amenities, though. However, the whole hotel occasionally smelt like sewage and was very cold and uninviting. It is in major need of a renovation and some TLC! Staff should show a bit more enthusiasm too…Note to future guests- their restaurant is not actually open anymore! Something that is not specified on their website!! We were disappointed by this as well.
Lovely linens and beds. Clean, central and excellent rates.
Nice an clean with awesome size rooms.Very handy to the CBD
Great location and room size but in serious need of updating . Bathroom substandard , mouldy shower, dirty light switches and cracked tiles . Kitchen lots of facilities but could do with a dishwasher and power switch for toaster hanging loose. Great to have a washer dryer combo if only I could open the washer door as blocked by broken door .Staff great and helpful but a few thousand dollars of upgrades would make all the difference, the bathroom being the biggest issue .Space for a family great
Inexpensive in terms of price but you definitely get a lot for your money. Room was great, plenty of room and well thought out layout. My only criticism would be the walls could do with a new coat of paint, having said that still a lot of bang for your buck, well done 👍
We enjoyed a nights stay here, in one of their 4 penthouses apartments , supper big, two bedrooms, both with ensuite, and spacious, after many nights in small hotel rooms.
Fantastic place to stay for business or holiday. 2 bedroom apartment with everything you need. Very clean and great staff.
Would 100% come stay again. Great pillows, comfortable bed, clean open rooms, shower pressure was amazing!! Great value
Very nice apartment. Plenty of space with everything needed. Only there was no hot water. I hope there is when we return after tomorrow.
The accommodation was clean, spacious and right in the center of Christchurch so everything we needed was an easy walk away. The apartment was well set up full kitchen , a washer and dryer and heaps.ofspace
Dirty Dirty Dirty, our first room 411 was so Dirty and smelly we asked to be moved the second room smelt better but was still filthy. Walls and light switches are grubby and we found hairs and stains in the bed. I am happy to be on my way home and will never ever be returning.
Overall a great stay at the Fino Hotel. Easy to find, and helpful attentive service at the front desk. Plenty of parking underneath, access by swipe card. Room was on the sixth floor. Cool atrium in the centre with a large water feature. Our apartment had 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and a large kitchen and lounge. Nice views from the balcony out over the city towards the Southern Alps. Kitchen was lacking in certain bits and pieces, only 2 mugs! Also 4 pottles of UHT milk was not really enough. Few marks and stuff on the walls that could do with some attention, but pretty easy to look past. Playstation 4 so we could watch DVDs. Only freeview TV with 2 addition SKY channels. Beds were super comfortable, with good quality linen. Didnt hear any building or traffic noise.Biggest gripe of all however was the shower. It was terrible!!!!!! Had it at the hottest it could go, and it was warm at best! And the pressure was pathetic!. Was really really disappointing. Felt colder getting out of the shower then i did hoping in. Does need to be addressed, but overall a great place to spend the night.
Great place yo stay at reasonable prices. Older decor but nice big rooms noy small and dainty. Beds really comfy and close to amenities
Good handy location with spacious apartment style accommodation. Parking is available for guests. Rooms were clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. Be great when its restaurant is up and running again. Very comfortable beds! Has a fully equipped kitchen too.
Rooms well appointed, spacious & clean. As the restaurant was closed when we stayed, it would have been prudent to offer some preserves for toast for breakfast.
Rooms are so clean and spacious. Ladies at the front desk are very kind. Whitewares are all new. I would visit here definitely once again!
Great place very central. Have a lovely apartment with two bedrooms, washer and dryer. Very helpful staff. Good clean facility. A very good daily rate as well.
Such a shame. Great location and good sized rooms but it lets itself down everywhere. Terrible house keeping, very poor customer service, the rooms are really tired and then...there was a huge fire alarm check that nobody was warned about. Guests were understandably shaken and staff didnt know what was happening.
These are apartments converted into suites. Very spacious (much bigger than most places weve stayed at in Christchurch). The suites are old, but very well kept. Clean rooms with everything youll need. Beds are super comfy. For the price, definitely offers good value.
Location and daily service clean. The bedrooms need to have A/ C installed. The main bathroom was very poor standard more 1970,s tired shower curtain no cabinet just a sink.Only one small a/ c in living room needed to have small portable fan for air in both bedrooms but no where to put them.Cracked glass in one of the windows. The reception staff were helpful.Possibly wouldn’t,t stay there again unless it gets a proper makeover.
On arrival we had to get the toilet cleaned as it was dirty. The carpet was threadbare and dangerous - a trip hazard, this was fixed the next day after letting them know, surely cleaners would have noticed it in the middle of the lounge. We pulled back the curtains only to find the windows were filthy and one of the window catches was missing. There was a long dark hair in the new bathroom towel - both of us staying had short hair. The expel air fan in the bathroom was absolutely filthy with clumps of dust hanging out of it. The kitchen utensils were grubby from the last stay. It certainly isnt 5 star - probably 3 star would be more like it. Wouldnt stay there again. We were given our parking for free due to the problems we had - $20.00 !!
A very good hotel and apartment type hotel in Christchurch. The service is really great, the apartment can be used by more than 4 people actually and the price is on the lower side for a 4 stars hotel like Fino Hotel and Suites. The apartment is a very great with 2 bedrooms and one interconnected bathroom. There are so many housibg equipments given as a service here. From a good refrigerator, washing machine and also the water heater and other cooking equipments. What a great experience I had when I was visittibg Christchurch.
The front desk was very helpful hence the 2 stars. Big spacious rooms but worn out. Hotel is a bit away from the center of the city so would need to take the car out & onsite parking is a nightmare if you have a big vehicle! There was only one central heating so had to ask for room heaters. Got one so had to run the heating bulbs all night for the other bedroom.
Overall room was a good value. However personnel were not aware of obvious issues such as parking a RV at facility. Nor did they seem concerned about vehicle damage. No alternative to issue. Had to use a public parking lot when the vehicle would fit into their parking lot.Burners on stove were VERY dirty as that they were not cleaned. Bathroom had body hair on floor as well as one bed.Heater in bathroom was also VERY dirty. Shower had no place for soap.
Two bedroom suites have limited natural light in the bedrooms. The bedrooms share a jack and jill bathroom, which isnt ideal. The bedrooms are also very hot and stuffy with limited cooling options. The living room, kitchen and balcony are really nice and are very well equipped.
My friend and I recently (February 2019 stayed in the Fino for 3 nights. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. We were very disappointed to find that the onsite restaurant only served breakfast and we were forced to walk to the nearby Cassino for dinners. We did however have a major problem with a musty smell in the bathroom we were sharing and found on opening the door in the night after it being closed up, the smell was dreadful. We were unable to leave the extracter fan going as it was very noisy. I was particularly worried as the smell was of mould and this can be very dangerous if breathed in. the bathroom itself was spotlessly clean. We did report this to the housekeeper and reception. The staff were very lovely without exception and we did find the location of the hotel very convenient. A short walk to trams and town.
We had 2 bedroom suite for 1 night to celebrate my kid getting NCEA. All staff were great. Rooms were good layout with bedrooms not sharing a wall which is good for snorers etc. Has cool fountain in hallway area. Room had all modern amenities including full size fridge freezer, washer/dryer & liquid, jug/toaster/hot plates. Beds were the highlight, as soon as I lay down I went to sleep because it was so comfortable. Only improvement could be tvs in bedrooms. Would love to stay again & maybe go ice skating in Opawa!
Pleasant stay at this Hotel in July 2018.Nothing fancy at all but that’s expected from this price point.Loved how they had 24hr reception as we were on a late flight.Parking is on site a short walk away but it isn’t undercover.Clean tidy rooms, a little dated but that’s ok.
Good clean comfortable unit. One of the most comfortable beds I have slept on. Very handy position. But over night service was less than adequate, didnt replace any condiments. Fix that up and it is well worth a visit.
Traveled from Scotland and couldnt have asked for better accommodation. Great big comfy bed 🛏 and certainly helpful to get over jet lag. Good location alsoalso not too busy and a secure parking for your car. WiFi is very good quality. Great start to 3weeks in NZ
Great location ,close to town and meters from a number of restaurants and Christchurch casino. Lounge was huge with great kitchen and smart TV ,free WiFi, dining table and laundry hiding behind doors. Bedrooms were good size with comfortable beds. Staff were helpful and friendly .it is on a one way street but right up beside reception is an off road small parking area that leads to private gated car park once you have your key. This is our second time at this hotel ,we love the size of the room and the smart TV
Appears Fino charges per pax so we did the right choice and chose the two 2-bedrooms for 4 people so that we can get 2 bathrooms instead of one. The hotel is clean and the room is big and spacious with proper kitchen and ammenities. Living room is large and master bedroom is also spacious. Its in great location so we loved it!!
Great location. Very spacious suites. The space is comfortable. Very friendly and helpful staff. They really do whatever they can to be helpful. Fast unlimited, easy to connect wireless internet, which was a great surprise in a NZ hotel. The room we were in showed moderate wear. It could use a refresh, or at least a deep cleaning. The bathroom needed a very deep cleaning and scrubbing; first pass with a hard water/lime descaling product, and then it needed an additional round of bleach. The washer/dryer combination unit needed its manual. The vast number of settings and icons are hard to decipher without it. Luckily the fast internet made downloading a PDF manual easy. The hotel is a good value.
Nice rooms. Beds are great. There is no gym here that I know of.Parking is weird. There was little cars under cover but were told to park in the outside section which at the moment is a unused lot and looked unsecured.Either way, good enough location and staff are nice.WiFi speed is ok and connection is generally good.
Nice hotel in a good, central location. The room was spacious and modern, with a balcony. Beds were comfortable. Linen clean. Staff very helpful. Didnt have breakfast there, but the restaurant looked nice.
The best hotel we stayed at throughout our 18 day trip in NZ. Were a family of 5 so having a 2 bedroom unit was perfect. Lots of space. Excellent kitchen with washer/dryer. Great Location location location. We walked everywhere. Highly recommend for anyone. Parking provided. Frewin at the front desk was excellent at his job. He was extremely helpful and provided our family with excellent customer service. Housekeeping was terrific.
We stayed in a 2-bedroom unit, each rooms are fitted with a queen bed, neat and clean. Though the rooms are a bit compact to move around, the living room is spacious, and the kitchenette has most equipment needed for light meal preparations. It is very quiet, and the wifi speed is excellent, with unlimited data usage. The unit has a washing machine and a dryer, useful for travellers who need to do some laundry. The breakfast at the cafe in the hotel serves good western breakfast. Plenty of travel information is available at the reception area, and if you are keen on gambling, the casino is just within walking distance.
