Fine Fettle Cafe in Taupo

I got a classic coke and a mince and cheese pie. overrated by my brother but still good. (Im not a pie person)

Food is not too bad , the pies are quite unique.

What a lovely find The eggs bene was tasty and the eggs cooked to perfection Date scone was also tasty Coffee was great as was staff Would go again when next in Taupo

Fine Fettle is a lovely homely café, with nice food and Great coffee, and preserves that you can buy to take home or as gifts, what I did notice is that they were selling bottles of Kasundi👍👍👍

Went with my sisters and we found the coffee and food to be of average quality for the price.

Lovely cooked vegan breakfast, especially loved the mushrooms. All plant based milk options available and will come back for coffees. Cater for all dietary requirements so great place to catch up with friends. Very friendly people.

Coffee amazing some of the best I’ve tried in New Zealand .Vegan slice blueberry sorry didn’t love it .Vege frittata luscious though .bought the sauce Kasundi -so punchy -flavorful it’s excellent have used it in many meals to enhance them while travelling .

We went here in April. As a cook myself was very disappointed ☹️. Worst food had a cafe. Nice looking cafe except for the dog water bowls at our feet. We had bacon and eggs for breakfast. Eggs hard , bread so hard enedible. And a long black hair in my dish

Cold cafe, cold customer service and the food was average. The staff could at least smile and greet customers when they enter or approach the counter. Its so off-putting. The cafe was dead quiet when I arrived - I should have taken it as a sign. Wont be back. I wanted to try something new and was hoping to be pleasantly surprised by Fine Fettle but lll go back to Baked with Love as the staff is more friendly and the place has a great atmosphere.

This is a favourite Taupo breakfast stop. When we saw New Owners sign we hesitated but turned out absolutely no need to. Same cafe, same smooth coffee & same fresh organic food. Homely feel & lovely new owners.

Homemade style food. Delicious to have something different rather than the usual cuisine. Gorgeous homemade bread and the choice was great.

In LOVE with this place!! Highly recommend their spicy chai latte with almond milk and vegan breakfast. Amaziiiinngg food, such a friendly staff and very considerate.They have a separate vegan menu, too! Have been here twice already. Defin8 my favorite place to eat in Taupo!! ❤️

We used to come here and not sure if it changed owners. I found a hair in my eggs Benedict, my wife found a piece of plastic she almost broke her teeth on. The produce was poor/cheap quality. Coffee not great either. Wont be back...

They heat the pie in the oven. I have the mushroom dish. Fantastic food and service.Great location with sun. Also, lot of delicious chunky, relish etc.

Had a steak and mushroom pie. In the cabinet they looked seriously good, but very disappointing I didnt get one piece of meat it was like eating jelly meat. On the up side coffee was great.

I bought a mince & cheese pie, the pastry was so delicious, the butter in the pastry I havent tasted a home made pie this good since I was a child, my Nana used to make these pies, also real beef chunks, Excellent pie!

Purchased a "mango smoothie" here on the 3rd Jan. I expected it to be good based on the price ($8.50!and their description and pics - "coolest smoothies in the world" with pictures and street signage showcasing their smoothies looking like proper smoothies in tall glass with soft serve ice-cream clearly visible. What I got was a small mug of what looked and tasted like very watery milk with a bit of cheap supermarket mango flavoring mixed in. I find it quite remarkable that a cafe in this day and age that is presumably wanting to remain viable is happy to falsely advertise, overcharge, and then serve up such a sub standard product. Even more remarkable is that clearly no one at this "cafe" has any idea how to construct even a half decent smoothie.

Nice local place, staff were lovely. I had the eggs Benedict which was delicious. Toast was nice and soft and easy to cut and eat. Eggs gooey and didnt skimp on the bacon. Happy with my experience ☺

I went here for lunch. Only a couple of other customers seated. Found hair in my salad, the toast under my eggs was so hard I could barely cut it. Coffee was terrible. Definitely would NOT recommend. Informed staff and showed them my plate. Was not offered a refund when I declined a replacement meal.

Dropped in to catch up.with a friend .Had a coffee and cheesecake. One of few places thst majes great latte and tbd cheesecake portion was very generous and yummo.

After having been here a number of times and really enjoyed it... today was a very different story. Bacon was way overcooked that a knife and fork couldnt be used to eat it and other problems with the food. Wont be going back again.

The quieter end of town where you can always get a park and a seat in the cafe. Local owners with a good selection of whole real home made food. The smoothies are awesome and the seafood chowder and beef goulash are my favorite Staples.

Im sorry to say I couldnt eat what looked like a delicious pie. The meat was tough and smelt funky. Coffee wasnt good either. I left hungry

Has been my go-to cafe for organic food, healthy juices and coffee at Taupo every time! Friendly staff and easy parking. Spacious seating and you shouldnt miss the amazing vegetable and fruit juices they make.

Was a cold rainy day. We enjoyed a good meal with the family. The atmosphere was nice. Opposite to st Johns should you need an ambulance XD

First rate selection of gluten-free options. Where you dont feel like these are the poor cousins on the menu. Food was freshly cooked and presented nicely. It was quiet when we were there - at peak times I guess thered be more of a wait.

This is a very cosy cafe. You are greeted with a big smile in pleasant surroundings. The food is amazing and serving is fast. You can build your own breakfast. They also got Nachos, lasagne, steak sandwich and eggs Benedict.
