Finca Filadelfia - Restaurant in Chimaltenango, Guatemala
In a open space they want to force you to buy a mask for 5 quetzales per person when as a client you going to consume . Guards very unprofessional . for a business if they want to enforce mask regulation on a open are they should provide a mask that costs around 50cents of quetzal. Very disappointed for this situation.
Peaceful and beautiful setting! Food, delicious!!
Nice place to visit.
Amazing experience, super interesting, lots to see. We did the mountain tour along with the normal coffee tour. Faustino was our guide - beauty. I would highly recommend. Even the Guatemalans we were with really enjoyed the tour.
Went for a coffee tour and had a great time. We got picked up from downtown Antigua in one of their buses. The tour was very informative, excellent guide, gorgeous plantation. We got to try one of their coffees and gave thumbs up. I would definitely visit again.
This place is just money hungry - more concerned with fact my dog was with me and (wasn’t bothering anyone while sitting with me outsideyet are peddling child labor in the fields and aren’t giving them nearly cut of what they make to the local town. It’s also $25 per person to go on a 50 min “tour”. It’s a rip off
Nice location, good food but a bit pricy. Not recommended for wheelchair users / visitors with mobility impairments as the location is not very wheelchair friendly and therefore no accessible bathrooms.
I wish I had read some of these reviews before I paid $20USD to visit the farm (later received a $5USD refund). The coffee tour, which is advertised as being two hours duration, went for 1 hr 20 mins. The tour does not visit the mountain or view point, you walk 300m or so to look at the nursery and are then driven a further 500m to a plantation (flat area and paved roads unlike the photos on their website). Our tour guide was very informative and nice, however I felt that the advertising of the tour (via the photosare highly misleading and there is no explanation of the tour types when you arrive on site.
Did not return my e-mail but immediately sold my e-mail address. E-mailed them on Jan. 13 from an address I had not used since Dec. 23 and was immediately inundated with spam. Havent actually heard from the finca yet. But thanks so much for all of that.
A while ago we went to know the farm and the security outside did not let us pass, said we could only enter the restaurant, he was very bad, we came from Virgina to meet and we could not do it
If you imagined coffee tasting, make sure to book specifically that, because their signature "coffee tour" only includes a bad cup of coffee at the restaurant. The tour itself is pretty interesting, but unless you arrive at harvest, most of the machinery is idle and you dont see anything being done. In addition, the coffee growing tour does *not* include coffee tasting...
Good food, clean, friendly staff. Food can be hit or miss in Guatemala, but this is a safe bet for good food
Our tour group had the best breakfast at the Finca Filadelfia Restaurant before the coffee plantation tour. We sat under cover with splendid view of gardens, tropical forested hills, and volcanic peaks. They combined traditional and modern breakfasts together, but with a gourmet touch. Dont let me underestimate how good the food and coffee is. We were here two years ago and deliberately came back this time. Also peruse the gift shop which features good examples of the crafts you find in Antigua, but without the crowds.
Simply stunning resort is in a 150 year old coffee plantation!!! A coffee lovers paradise. Breathtaking scenery delight the senses. Educational tours and to wrap it up, your very own expresso!! Also went on mule around the plantation. Ask for Manuel best tour guide ever!
I have no words to describe how beautiful this place is, and they have everything. I just love the restaurant, expansive but I would say worth it because its location. Coffee break or launch, you wont be disappointed. They also have coffee tours, canopy and many other amaizing things to do. I completely recommend this beautiful place.
I went here here for a coffee tour in August. I payed 200Q at a small agency in town for a 2 hour tour and transportation back and forth. Finca Filadelfia is a medium sized coffee plantation, owned by a foreigner, that produces coffe under the brand R.Dalton which by the time of this writing is mainly bought by Japan and Starbucks. The area was beautiful and the guide had a lot of knowledge about the process. He was a little bit full of himself and liked to ask trick questions just to prove that he knows more than you. About half of the tour showed how they process the beans using different machines once they have been handpicked. Since harvest season is between November and April the factory was completely empty. Hence the factory-part of the tour was like walking in a museum and looking at machines, needless to say it was quite boring. One sad but interesting fact that I learned on the tour is that Finca Filadelfia hires locals to pick the berries during the harvest. The workers get payed by the weight of the berries that they pick and not by the hour. The tour guide proudly explained that a common days sallery for this heavy and hard 8 hour labor is somewhere around 80Q which is close to the minimum wage in Guatemala. It was obvious that Finca Filadelfia had no interest in giving their workers a better salary. If youre planning to go on the tour I recommend that you do it during the harvest season on a smaller fairtrade plantation thats owned by a Guatemalan.
Really great and informative tour guide through the coffee plantation! Excellent coffee!! And the views on the canopy tour are breathtaking
Beautiful coffee plantation, with tours.
Terrible service. Overpriced basic food. You havent finished your meal and they keep asking and asking if they can remove your plate and not politely.
One of my favorite place to have coffee with my friends and family.
Visited the finca’s on a Sunday for breakfast. Very generous buffet, with everything I could have wished for. Traditional Guatemalan breakfast available obviously, but also fresh fruit, different kinds of eggs, tortillas, juice. Coffee from the estate is obviously served.Come hungry to fully enjoy the buffet if you want to make it worth your money. Friendly service.
The guides are incredibly knowledgeable and the grounds are gorgeous. Shuttle is free too!
Nice hotel and good restaurant, but could have more options on the menu.
Nice place. Food acceptable, service not so good
Quite nice views, gives a sense of opulence and pride from the colonial times. Great food, service and awesome ambiance. Always nice music background.
Nice outdoors, good food and activitys center.
Breakfast was good ,refried beans some of the best we have had in Guatemala ,had great flavor.
Great volcán de agua view, good food, excellent coffee for those who like to drink coffee
Great tour on an amazing plantation. I loved that we got to see the entire process. The tour makes you reflect on your morning coffee.
The tour was great!!! The tour guide was knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend taking the tour.
Great place to visit..its expensive but its a quality adventure..you can stay at the resort or take one of the many activities offered such as horseback riding, coffee tour, birdwatching, hiking etc..
It was good... The staff is great, the food is a little bit expensive but delicious, the atmosphere is great but the only thing that is making me take the 5th star off is the fact that on Sunday the only option (at least for breakfastyou have is a Q109 buffet and it is kind of an issue for me because Im not a big eater.
Finca Filadelfia is walking distance from my house and it’s a biweekly, at least destination for me. I️ have had a few not-so-great experience there but their service recovery keeps me coming back. Their prices recently increased and they taped the new prices into their menu which I️ find hideous and tacky, hopefully they will get new menus printed soon. Will update an incident which occurred 01/14, will never return.
Last time I ate there was 7 years ago. I guess menu has changed but food and service today wasnt as good as last visit. Location still beautiful though.
Free pick up from/to city center. Entrance fee is USD20 as of 2017.
Participated in a wedding - very good catering service and instalations.
Awesome all around. Take the mule ride!
Beautiful setting, excellent food and service.
Good food, nice place, expensive though
Excellent place! To drink a good coffee and relaxing :)
Good sightseeing. But the food and service should be better.
Amazing place. Its truly beautiful and quiet. The food is delicious and they offered tours for a lot of things. Its a bit pricey but that have nice tours.
Caffeinated version of the Napa in a really good way. Great tour guides, great food, lots of well-made and unique trinkets to take home. Views from the zip line are great.
Coffee plantation with interesting tours and a good open restaurant. At the same place but run separately is Canopy Tours, a fantastic zip line experience.
We did the coffee tour here. Although its quite expensive at $20, you do get a high quality tour and learn about the entire coffee process from soil to cup. Includes an espresso or americano at the end. Theres also a free shuttle from Antigua town to the plantation. A nice activity to do in Antigua!
Beautiful outdoor restaurant!!! You have to try it! Food delicious!!
Is a coffee Plantation and only offer coffee with a Expresso machine Im so disappointed
If you are in Antigua you have to visit this place. Great view, beautiful land and excellent breakfast.
Amazing place. I got engaged here and loved it.
Great place to spent the afternoon. Activities within Filadelfia are a good complement with your food.
