Filmore & Union - Eclectic restaurant in Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom
on 10/13/2022 i seen sabaton and epcia as far the sound goes is was really good i had good seats i did not like the gen admis was about 50 and then or why not add 120 to the ticket just to set down and if that was not bad enough then we had to stand in line witch was about 15 blocks long the show was to start at 730 by the time we got in we missed the first band witch i really wanted to see the drinks was way to high price i paid over 350 for the tickets for 2 what a rip off i am sure others feel the same way i will never go to any show there again and think i should a refund but of course not it is all about how much money we can get out of people i think this is sad work hard all week just a concert that i did not see it cost me about 600 and a day off work and for what i will not go again so people be aware that if you go to a show there and dont mind missing the first band then ok you will have fun spending all your money they will sure happy to take it so think again if you want to go
Favorite concert venue yet. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Suggest the box seats if youve got the $$$
Event was oversold and way too crowded. Had to wait outside in a line that went out the doors, across the parking lot, unti the garage the next building over, and down 2 full floors just to get in. Barely any standing room and kept being bumped around and squished and couldnt even really see the stage well. Acoustics werent great either. Definitely the worst concert experience Ive had.
Beautiful venue; a fourth of the floor space as the Armory but similar vibes- only with more pizazz (chandeliers and red velvet curtains).
Came here for a sold out show that started at 7:30 pm. Doors open at 6 pm. Arrive early to wait in line to the event. Came around 5 pm. Did not get into the building until around 8 pm! Took 2 hrs to get everyone in when we were in line early and there wasnt too many people in front of us. The organization of the lines were terrible. Management of the Security guards were disorganized and chaotic. Group of young security men stood around talking to each other and did not direct the fans/guests. They had green wrist band to give to 21+ but didnt even stated that. We had to go up to them and ask for it.When got in line early, it was organized by the fans. The fans written numbers on their hand to help people get in line while the security guard outside stood around. The fans/guest were telling the security guard how the line was organized. The fans were directing the large group. When asked security guard where the line start, they were ambiguous and said the line is somewhere over here. Not caring how dangerous it is to have over 1000+ people blocking the road. It was sad to see the fans organizing the line when its the securitys job to assist. The group of young security guards were no help. When it was 6 pm to check in, the line didnt even move. The security said theyre "delayed." We did not start moving until around 6:45, then they started to let people in. People were standing outside in the cold for a slow process from security. It was a sold out show, but they only had 2 metal screening detector that night. Which made the process even slower. Terrible management and bad communication for fans/guest when waiting in line. Please update your security and need a more safe/organized line. It is a safety hazard not being able to organize a large crowd in downtown Minneapolis. For parking, theres not a lot to choose from since its downtown. Youll have to find parking lots a couple blocks away and walk 10-15 minutes.
Staff was nice and sound was good (if not a little quietbut $13.50 for a pint of beer? Please.I paid $17 for a 24oz Modelo at Pier 17 in New York, and Im not a math person but I think this makes a beer at this soulless venue more expensive than the one with a ridiculous view of the Brooklyn Bridge.Seriously, the place was nearly full and the bartenders were just standing around because everybody said LOL nope to the beverage layout.Bag policy sucks if you arent driving. I hung my bike lock on my handlebars like a clown so I wouldnt have to mess around with the coat check which is probably like ten bucks
Saw a concert here a couple days ago. Staff were outside very early and had already split VIP and GA lines... something I had never seen done so early! Usually VIP and GA lines are split a couple minutes before any planned start time. They were always willing to answer questions and were polite when doing so. Usually, staff seem annoyed to be asked questions. When they let VIP in, they made sure we stayed in our original line. After the VIP event was over, they made sure no one was cutting and we still stayed in our original line. Security handed out water throughout the whole show, too.The venue itself was beautiful, as well. My new fav venue.Only drawback is that drinks here are very expensive. Girl next to me said her white claw cost $17!? 😱
Best venue I’ve ever been to!! Staff was very organized, helpful, nice! They handed out water to anyone who needed it during the concert. Lines went smoothly, security was awesome! I’ve been to 10+ concerts and been to 10+ different venue, this one was hands down one of the best venue ever!
I have never been here but it is easy to get to. Theres lots of parking. It is intimate and was beautifully decorated for Awolnation tonight. Truly gorgeous. And also, free water to drink if you dont drink alcohol or pop.
We had a terrible experience here with the “security guards”. Not only that, but they had a poor management team as well. They don’t take accountability for their mistakes, not even a “we’re sorry WE made a mistake”.Be aware of these “security guards”. They will try to confiscate your license, and kick you out when you ask for your ID back. We had to go to the police officers to prove that my license was valid, since my DL’s were from out of state. The manager or whoever that came out wouldn’t let us see the show still because of our “reaction” to THEIR action. Were we frustrated yes, but were we acting crazy, absolutely not. So it’s pretty unfair to turn us away, when it was your staff/security guards that made a mistake. You guys need to hire a better security team who knows what they’re doing and to whoever is managing management, you guys also need to do better. This whole situation could of been handle differently had your security guards knew what they were doing, and if the management team would of taken the time to investigate the situation and just take accountability for their mistake.**Update**After reading multiple reviews on google, I can see that this place has A LOT of issues with security guards and poor staffing. Wow. I am not shocked nor surprised.
Staff was extremely lovely! They made sure the audience stayed hydrated, had good security, and were very accessible as I came to the show in my wheelchair! Loved it and would definitely see a show here again!
I went to a concert that was general admission and we got to the venue early. Bailey (one of the workersdid a phenomenal job keeping the lines in order at the start and she even brought us water bottles. This was the nicest ive ever seen a venue and then inside our bartender was amazing. She made us a couple drinks and one of which was a Green Tea. I couldnt recommend this location enough.
First time at the Fillmore for this transplant. Saw Echo & the Bunnymen, great venue, excellent acoustics, and so intimate. Loved!!!
Sound is great. Drinks are ridiculously expensive. A tap beer (not an XL beer or anythingis like $13.50?! Its worse than pro sporting events. Seriously?
Security: metal detectors/bag check. Great venue, bar tenders were wonderful, the only complaint I have is that, before I went to the show I checked the website and read their bag policy, which is 6” x 12” and so that is what I brought and when I got there they said it wasn’t allowed in. So why have a bag policy if you’re not going to follow it or update it to the correct information??k
Very clean and such a cool atmosphere. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Definitely would go back here to see a show!
Cool venue! There was a Timberwolves draft watch party there that I was invited to. Theres a sweet second floor balcony I didnt go up to but theres stadium seating where I would imagine a show or concert would be a ideal seat. Felt very safe here as they had their security for the event preventing any threats from entering the venue.
Despite not having the storied past of the Fillmore West in San Francisco or the Fillmore East in New York City, this modern gathering space is a generally top quality venue where the staff could not have been nicer. The facility was clean, exceptionally well maintained and it is located very close to public transit. Parking structures are near for motorists at very reasonable prices. Hard fast by Target Field in a gentrified area of Minneapolis called North Loop, site of various venues for food and drink.
what a great experience my friend and i had here! i came here in February to see Louis Tomlinson sing, which my friend invited me to! i am so glad she invited me because it was INCREDIBLE, and i would do it again! such an amazing night and i wish i could go back to that night:there was also an opening act, Sunroom, whose music i had never heard before this night, but it’s very good!! i’m so grateful i got to go and i hope he comes back here! this venue was also great, and Louis mentioned that this was the smallest venue he had performed at all tour, which i think is so cool! love this venue and Louis🤍🤍
Very interesting venue. Would loved to have gotten a room nearby to really enjoy the location. Concert (Aurora Aksneswas great. Should also have gotten balcony seats. Standing room in the floor was very crowded.
Concert was amazing! Venue was very nice and clean. Staff was exceptional. Helped to accommodate for my disabled daughter so she could even do a meet and greet with her favorite artist. Cant give it up enough to Alex and the rest of the security staff! Best concert ever! Thank you so much!
Good sound, cool location.Saw Earthgang this last time. Would go again.Smallest room Ive been in with the purple chandeliers. Not a big deal but a wee bit underwhelming.
Awesome venue. I love the size and the layout. The acoustics were insane too.
Cool venue with nearby ramp parking. I attend for a fundraising event for ACES and it fit 500+ with everyone relatively close to the stage.
Thoroughly enjoyed the Kaleo concert here. Good views everywhere, especially on the balcony. Very cool stage vibe, and audio was loud but clear enough to hear my recorded video on my phone. Will be back for sure
They just opened not long ago. They have some kinks to work out as far as the process of check in and such. Some people were there hours early to be the first ones in and the employees told others there was no line. But it is a very beautiful building. Love the chandeliers.
Its a beautiful venue and I really enjoyed seeing Amine. However, Im still annoyed from when I went up to the bartender when I first arrived and asked for water. He told me there was no water except for Liquid Death, which was $5. BUT, shout out to the staff member who saw me sitting on the floor, dehydrated as hell, and she came back with a water bottle for me. Youre a life saver!
We came here for The Revivalists Concert recently. Its a very impressive place. It is big, the acoustics areexcellent. It was easy to get in and also out after the concert and we could see the performance very well.
Incredible concert experience at the Filmore! Loved the ability to grab a drink beforehand at the bar in Trax. The Revivalists put on a killer show!
The good: Acoustics are pretty excellent. The staff was consistently pretty great - security was friendly and well-mannered which is a nice change of pace. Bar service was pretty quick even at a busy show. The space is well taken care of and rather nice. The bad: The will call window is outside the venue and around the corner. This isnt made immediately apparent, so if youre a rocket scientist like me you may find yourself all the way through security and into the ticket taking line before you realize. Which will mean leaving the venue and doing it all over again. Drinks are on the pricy side, but that shouldnt be a surprise.Things to know: No bags or purses allowed unless theyre clear or a tiny clutch. Inconvenient if you dont think of it ahead of time. Also, no re-entry so smokers youre going to be jonesing pretty hard by the end of a show.
Chelsea Cutler! This is my second time at the Fillmore and this human put on an amazing show! Came here for my friends bday. I have never listened to Chelsea Cutler before this day and I was completely blown away!
Really nice new venue. Its a cashless venue, so bring a credit card. Maybe it depends on the particular show, but when we went they only allowed transparent handbags or small clutch purses, so I had to put stuff in my pockets. Staff was helpful about accommodating my friends ADA needs. The bar wont give you a cup of water - you have to pay $5 for a can of "Liquid Death" water. But club soda (sparkling waterfrom the tap is free!Doors were supposed to open at 6 but I dont think they started letting people in until after 6:30, and it was pretty chilly out. Theres some room for improvement there.
Great concert venue. Nice and clean and I was impressed with the staff/customer service. Pricey drinking during a concert, but the bartender was fantastic. Overall, a great place. I will definitely check out their upcoming events. 👍
Such an amazing gem in our fine city! The food and service is top notch! I highly recommend their apps and cocktail menu. The best brussels sprouts Ive had in the cities! I suggest making reservations for dinner when you get your tickets; theres a private line for anyone coming from the restaurant/bar.The venue is stunning with artwork and views from every corner. Several bars made liquids easily accessible. Most importantly, I was impressed with the sound! Every vocal and instrument was clearly heard and the screaming of the fans was not deafening. 😂 All in all, this place never fails to provide a great time!
Security can be really terrible if they decide youre suspicious, and the sound isnt very good for bass-heavy music. Otherwise, its really pretty and drinks arent too overpriced.
This was insane 😳 Although the concert was amazing, being shoved into a pit with thousands of teenagers screaming like they were literally dying while Loius Tomlinson was on stage, not being able to move an inch, with lack of water, and watching my daughter almost pass out due to heat exhaustion was not my idea of fun. 3 people passed out during this concert. Security even had trouble getting through to get to the poor girls laid out on the floor. I honestly think this could be laid out a bit differently.
Loved this venue! Cleanest bathrooms and super nice staff! David the bartender was absolutely amazing! He treated my kid like a princess, gave her a free drink, and directed us to the best spot in the house to watch the show from. We had the best time ever!
Went to a YUNGBLUD show here. It was a good venue with really professional staff.Half of the fun of the show (other than the artists themselveswas their bartender David. Hes a great guy with a good sense of humor. We even made a point to stop by the bar on the way out to thank him for the great service and laughs throughout the night.
Seeing Phem & Waterparks was so much fun! The venue was gorgeous & mostly clean, but those are really the only good experiences I had. The staff DID NOT respect the VIP fans and almost pulled everyone with a gift out of line for no reason. Most the security staff were rude or passive for no reason. I don’t recommend any artist with a lot of younger (teen & twentiesfans to do a VIP experience here. Thanks to the artists for putting on an incredible show. Fillmore management, teach your staff some compassion.
The show was great! Though it was pretty disorganized from undemanding which line was for what, and you can not get ahold of anyone before a show. Despite this the employees were all kind and they did their jobs well.
Excellent venue! As a parent taking their daughter to her first concert I was extremely impressed! The whole experience was safe and very well organized! Kudos to the VIP staff, security guards and bar backs. The Fillmore is one of the Twin Cities great new live music experiences!
WOW! This venue didnt miss a detail. Intimate, great layout, sound is amazing and staff incredibly helpful. I cannot wait to see more shows here!!
The staff here was great. Very friendly and helpful. The place looks awesome. The acoustics in this building is phenomenal. Thanks for a great time.
Excellent experience seeing Dermot Kennedy on my birthday! Seats were upgraded for free so I was comfortably away from the crowd after a venue switch and every staff person said Happy Birthday to me while I was there! Fabulous venue and an amazing view from our premium box seat experience!
It was a great experience seeing Sublime with Rome here. It wasnt cramped, the staff were friendly. Got front row when we only showed up 20 minutes early. Highly recommend seeing any of your favorite musical artists here. Also very beautiful chandeliers!
Beautiful venue, great location near light rail and a parking ramp attached if you get there early. Definitely in my top 5 places to see a show in mpls. Sound was great and there were plenty of staff available upon arrival/entry. They were quick to shut down the lady sitting near us trying to take a video on her phone with the flash on! Hahaha. Would definitely recommend and I look forward to seeing more shown here.
Great venue. Intimate feel. Bars in every corner. Highly recommend attending a concert there. Easy access with several parking ramps. Management, bar tenders, waitresses, and the rest of the staff are so friendly. I will be back. Sound is great at the venue.
I really liked this venue. Theres lots of space, other than the coat check filling up and the lack of parking in the area this venue is great. Beers runs about $10 each but thats pretty standard. The lines go fast and the venue inside is beautiful. Excited to see more shows here!
We attended the Fillmore last night for a concert. We saw Motion City Soundtrack and it was a sold out show. The audio, we thought, sounded pretty darn good which was a concern of mine being that this was only the 3rd show at the brand new venue. The lighting was very good. Its a good sized space with a larger stage than First Ave. The floor is both deeper and wider as well with bars on both sides. The beers were mostly 16oz-24oz which I thought was awesome. There were space heaters along the line outside which is a nice touch for these winter shows. I cant wait to go back!!
Incredible new event venue set up perfectly for music and entertaining. Love the unique layout, seating, bars, and VIP lounge. Staff are incredibly attentive and helpful. It was easy to find, park, and walk. Food in the lounge for opening weekend was fantastic.
