Fiesta Tapatia Mexican Restaurant in Lynchburg

This place sucks, needs more nicer people and a better staff when checking out / needing something. WILL NEVER RETURN 😄

Good price but flavor lacking on 3 soft ground beef tacos I just ordered. Seemed like the beef was just cooked with no seasoning. No tomatoes/pico in the tacos and the lettuce was the white part of iceberg. So pretty low flavor only the unexpected salsa (with chipsin the bag saved them. Salsa is good recipe. The person that cooked the beef and prepared the tacos - maybe b/c it was ordered at 3:20 PM in afternoon needs a cooking/seasoning lesson. To-go tacos and burritos could be big seller for them if they fix this. I’ll delete this review in a week, as I’m thinking this is easy fix.

Nothing special, typical Mexican food, which is not my favorite option anyhow.

I’ve been hearing about this place for years and finally gave them a shot recently. Overall the food was excellent! Everyone enjoyed their dish but I think the burrito Jalisco was the standout in flavor and presentation. They also make a banging, homemade hot sauce that came at no charge. That smoky tomatillo flavor is a crucial piece of the puzzleI’m knocking a star because the chips were on the stale side and the corn tortillas had an odd flavor. Other than those two hiccups I have no complaints. The service was great; we were helped by several people and everyone was friendly. We’ll certainly be back

Only here to grab some takeout for someone else. Service was friendly and fairly fast. Im not local, but this is the go to place for a family member for taco salad. It looked delicious.

Yesterday, worst Mexican restaurant experience ever!Ate at Fiesta Tapatía on Forest road.Upon entering, no one at the desk to seat you. Had to seat ourselves. Asked where to sit, employee responded, where ever.Long wait for the server to arrive. Had to request menus. The restaurant was not overly busy. Longer wait for the food. Food did NOT taste good. Server never asked if we needed anything. Finally server came, after trying several times to flag down an employee, to locate our server. Finally arrived, then asked how was everything, I responded that the food was not good, and gave reasons why. They replied, sorry and brought the check. Never offered to correct the issue. Will never return there.

Always an enjoyable experience. Pleasant and helpful waiters and waitresses. Large portions and reasonable prices.

I want to start by saying this is my favorite restaurant to eat Mexican food. No one in Lynchburg compares! The food has flavor. The Guacamole is made fresh. The chips are warm. They will bring you fresh when you want more. The tacos, burritos, quesadillas, chili rellonos, tamales all are so good! The staff are so attentive and I love going there and bringing all my friends!! Thank you ALEX! CARLOS AND Sergio!! You are like family!

Very nice waitstaff. Food was served promptly and as ordered. Environment, cleanliness and decor was excellent. Food quality was above average. Prices were as expected.

Food is not bad but last time I ate there the beans and rice was very very salty to the point I didnt even hardly eat it and I rarely leave a plate with food as I dont like to waste.

food tasted horrible. they put 2 different items in one tray and the food was almost cold. they didnt provide napkins or anything. horrible place n will never get it again!!!!

I’ve been here twice to pick up door dash orders. The first time the food was ready but the woman at the counter was very rude. Yesterday when I went in myself and another woman who was door dashing waited 20 minutes before anyone would speak to us. A worker actually made eye contact and ignored us multiple times and then proceeded to check people out who were dining in, right in front of us and then walked away when he was done as if we weren’t even there. The other dasher left because she was so frustrated. I then walked up to a waitress to let her know I was there to pick up an order and she waved her hand in my face to wave me away. The other worker continued to seat others who came in the restaurant and still ignored me until I finally got him to speak to me and the order had been sitting at the counter the whole time. But they didn’t have the complete order. It took almost an hour just to get acknowledged. I can’t speak on the food itself, it actually looked really good and I had been wanting to try it but based on the service I will NEVER go there again. I’ve never been treated so poorly at a restaurant in my life. :(

The service was outstanding! As well as the food,delicious. I want more,LOL My experience there was fantastic!!!! I will be going back and telling everyone I know what a nice and friendly atmosphere it is.

Its a Mexican restaurant that fights the norm of Mexican restaurants in this town by having something new from the same old same old. I had the pollo chipotle and it was amazing. I highly recommend this place for a Mexican eat out night or date night. It had a nice family atmosphere too.Edit 3/12/2022: I am now pretty confident that I have visited every Mexican food restaurant in Lynchburg and the surrounding areas and this is the best food hands down. The comparison is like comparing McDonalds to the Iron Chef. Mexican food Shangri La.

Fiesta Tapatia, is wonderful! Great people, amazing food, and a very comfortable setting. Our waiter, Robin was very polite and extremely efficient. Alex was great as a host, and answered any questions we had about the menu. Great place to eat!

This food was not even remotely good. I ordered queso fundido and couldnt even stomach it. I tried multiple times but ultimately threw it away. Honestly, the regular cheese dip wasnt good either. It was really thick and gritty. I did, however, eat the chile rellenos. They were at least decent. Didnt have any sort of flavor at all but I added some seasoning and they were fine.

Fiesta Tapatia has many delicious dishes and great food especially for the price. I am vegan for a few months due to health concerns and several of their dishes were easily adapted to be vegan. They have excellent customer service as well.Give them a try!

Ok this place was recommended to us and we thought sure well try it. Well we were impressed, custom guacamole, delicious tacos, good cold beer, great service, yummy salsa, reasonable prices. Overall an enjoyable experience!

Without a doubt one of my favorite Mexican experiences in Lynchburg!Excellent food at very fair pricing. The service may be a bit slow at times but everyone is extremely friendly and by the time you leave you swear youll be back sooner than later!

Service was the only thing not great.Food was outstanding. Tacos el pastor, had great flavor. Chips and salsa were homemade and very tasty.I guess the woman that seated us was having a rough day or something, and she ended up being our waitress as well.Just less than attentive, and things seemed to take alot longer for our table vs others.Oh well..It happens.

The bean burrito was amazing. I love the vibe inside. Feels as though you’re in a small restaurant in Central America/Mexico. I didn’t give it 5 stars because they charged me the full price of a burrito vallarta for a vegetarian burrito. Why are you charging me for meat?

The food was very good. Prices are reasonable, service is good but a little slow. Three of us had margaritas and thought they were a bit weak.

Super friendly staff and delicious food!! I come on Sundays during lunch time and they are super quick and efficient! Our food came in less than 15 minutes even though it was CROWDED. Also you can’t beat the lunch menu prices! I paid $8 for a meal was was super filling! I love this restaurant! Wayyy better than La Carreta

Good food, nice people, mediocre service. Made a call-in order, was told it would be 30 minutes. I waited 30 minute, went to get my food, and waited an HOUR after that before getting my order. Only had people talk to me 3 times in that whole hour, saying "were not sure where your order is".Bonus points: When I finally did get my order, it didnt actually have everything I had paid for. So... yeah. Maybe only eat here in-person, where you can have better service and confront them easier if the order is wrong. For myself, I think thatll be the last time I try to order.

5 stars. Restaurant was clean, atmosphere was very nice. Service was prompt, friendly, and high-quality. Food was excellent. Highly recommend for anyone who likes Mexican food.

So happy, with this find!!! Yall know Im picky af!! Portion size is great on entrees, food is good too. I got chicken, rice and cheese (just had surgery yesterdaykiddo got soft chimis. We also got queso (very small serving for the priceit was really good, so Ill let the small size go. The salsa is good too. 4 stars for now since I cant go in person due to surgery. I snapped a pic of my plate, but cant post it ?? Anyway, Im happy with it, Ill update once we can go irl... But definitely give this spot a try. Best Ive had in Lynchburg area so far for Mexican!!

I can not beleive I did not take pictures. (We were a huge party and very hungry). Incredible. They served us (like 30 of usand did not miss a beat. The food was amazing and the service divine. Food tasted very authentic.Will definitely become regulars.The chips and salsa was MAG....NIFICENT.

Experienced cactus here for the first time so Id say this isnt the typical run of the mill Mexican restaurant, which is great. Very impressed by the quality and quantity of the food served. Service did appear a little slow but the staff was very friendly and all of our needs were met, theyre just busy and well liked. Two thumbs up from me!

My family was looking for a Mexican restaurant here in Lynchburg and when the first place we went to was extremely busy and packed, I found this one and saw the reviews were good. And they were right! Do not let the location of this restaurant deter you from eating here. Prices are excellent, service is good, and the food was AMAZING. I mean, you are missing out if you dont eat here.

This is absolutely our favorite restaurant! The portions are amazing and the food is fantastic! The service is always excellent and the prices are very reasonable! We totally recommend it!

My husband called in a carry out order. He specified multiple times that he wanted cheese dip (which is both of our favorites). When he got home we realized we were given some sort of ranch dip. We live about 30 minutes away so were unable to stop back by. The rest of the food was amazing, were just really disappointed about the cheese dip because it was the only reason my husband wanted to go here.

Food is amazing! Best tacos in town. A little expensive and they didnt make my takeout order until I got there. But still VERY GOOD. definitely recommend.

Their lunch specials are awesome! They have pretty traditional Mexican food even though they arent anywhere close to the border. Coming from the Southwest, spending time in this part of the USA I often find Taco Bell is the closest thing to Mexican that is offered. That is not the case here. They offer traditional dishes at prices that are economic. I strongly recommend their enchiladas :Yum!

I visited while in town, great staff everybody was friendly and attentive. They get very busy for dinner hours but that wasnt an issue with the service, food was great.

Best Mexican food Ive had in this area! This place is a hidden gem. The staff are great, friendly and attentive. The menu is amazing, lots of choices. The drinks are good. I am so glad I stumbled upon this place. Authentic food for a reasonable price. My new favorite place!

The food and service was great. The greeter was very friendly. There was an older gentlemen that greeted us with a smile after we were seated at the table and asked if we would like fresh guacamole. The prices were reasonable and there was a variety on the menu. I enjoyed every bit of it. ❤❤❤
