Dont let the grumpy ticket officer put you off the journey, it is well worth it! It is an exciting journey, we went three times already, and it never disappoints. Its so much fun.
Lovely train. But gets old fairly fast. Noisy, packed, bone shanking. Maybe, I had a bad day, but two hours (return tripwas about an hour and a half too long. Views are fantastic though and staff were helpful.
The return combi ticket of 32€ per person (train+tram between Palma, and Sóller and Port de Sóller). Completely rip off, considering a mediocre view along the trip, except the last part close to the beach.
Pretty nice old train. A bit loud time to time, but trip was fun.
A lovely way to spend the day and cross part of Mallorca. Booked in advance for train and tram to save time at the ticket offices as queues can be quite long. Both the train and tram are wonderfully restored to original designs, comfortable, and pleasant. Views en route are phenomenal with a stop for a photo op around two thirds towards Soller. The trams are punctual and frequent and take you right to the port.Station is easy to find in Palma as its near the main metro and bus stops
Lovely day trip out. Saturday visit and with a large market in Soller to meander around before the tram to the Port de Soller for lunch and a paddle in the sea.
This is a great day out on the train and tram you get to see all the sights of the island. This is a great experience of going on a railway journey of the past well worth the money
Gorgeous town, we got the bus from Palma which took about 30 minutes, nice and easy. The town was quite busy but lots of eateries near the church, and then we walk down to the port of solar and had a lovely meal next to all the yachts.
Loved the tram trip from Sóller to Port Sóller through the streets and countryside to the port. All for €8 each way, that you pay for on the tram, unless you have brought train tickets and added this journey as well. Sit inside or stand at the end of each carriage to take photos.
The ride of the vintage train and tram to Sóller. Very relaxing ... you can see the countryside.
What a fun way to spend the day! This won our trip on the 1912 wooden train takes you to Soller. Do you have options at the train station to buy a tram ride down to the port which we didn’t do this trip. The town is cute and has many restaurants and street seating for cocktails in the afternoon. You’ll have no problem finding places to get some gelato. Stroll up and down the lovely streets and look at the beautiful architecture while in town. They ask you to wear masks on the train but it is not enforced.
Well worth getting this tram if you have completed the train trip from Palma.. this smaller tram is a nice experience and brings you to a beautiful port village (about 15 minutes).. Id recommend getting off at the second last stop (the first sea view stopits a short and pleasant walk towards the last stop, plenty of nice places to eat and even a small beach to dip your toes. Once at the last stop thats about it for the village. There seems to be nice treks and trails but we were just on a day trip so didnt go further. Its nice to be at the last stop (first stop for the return journey to guarantee a seat for the return trip back to the beautiful soller.
It is an about an hour train ride from Palma to Soller. We boighr the tickets for tram to Soller to Puerto de Soller and it was another 30 mins. We took the first one at 10.10 and train at 11.30 and returned back at 12.30 and 14.00 back to Palma. Its better to stay more time at the port as you have nicer view. The prices for one person is 32€ returned ticket.
This is a must. I chose Soller - Palma - Soller and these were the best spent 25€ from my vacation. The best decision I could have taken was to travel as early as possible. The result was that I felt like I was traveling in private mode (I had the entire carriage for me and my boyfriend => amazing photos 💪🏻)
We had a fabulous time on the train and tram ride its a must to do if you go from Palma go early queues were horrendous and this is in September x
The best trip ever. Wish we had more time in the day to fit more in, it was amazing. 5 star trip
An amazing experience, its like going back in time. They only sell the amount of tickets for the amount of seats there are, so trains will never be overcrowded, however, if its full theres lots of people on board.Masks are still mandatory when riding between Palma and Sóller but lots of people just take them off once theyre sat down. There is room at the end of each carriage for pushchairs, wheelchairs, suitcases etc.The journey itself goes through the back end of Palma where you can see the darker side of the city, then on to the fincas and olive groves at the base of the mountains. In to the tunnel for around 3 minutes with only the ceiling lights is a magical feeling but could be scary or unnerving for small children or anyone with claustrophobia.Arriving back in to the daylight is great as the train now stops at the top of the mountain with phenomenal views across the town. You can jump off and get selfies here but it does only stop briefly. Once the whistle blows, get back on quick!Definitely recommend this journey, including the tram ticket down to Sóller Bay, which is another amazing journey in itself. The cost for the train is €18 one way, €25 return and €32 for the whole package of all 4 journeys.
The trip starts in Palma, in the original train station which is over 100 years old.The first few minutes aren’t anything special, just a normal industrial area. You’ll be more preoccupied checking out the interior of the olds train car. The little leader benches and wooden interior transports you to another time. After a while the landscape transforms and the train picks up speed, a blessing if you travel at noon.In no time the pains and hills are replaced by mountains and a cool breeze comes through the open windows. Here you’ll have many opportunities for great pictures.Soller slowly approaches and you’ll see the seaside, you’re there. The train station in Soller is larger than that in Palma and has all a traveller requires. With the same ticket you can switch to the tram.
This is a must attraction when in Mallorca. The feeling to travel back in time trough the stunning landscapes was amazing.
Easy to find but parking is tricky. Circle around ‘til you get a space or park further out of the village. Very frequent services, we didn’t have to wait at all either way. Open windows so nice and breezy on a hot day.15 minute ride down to Port Soller for lunch which was stunning. Great half day activity.Card payments available. Over 5’s are €8 each way.
Nice experience taking the train to soller and its port. Around an hour of travel but it’s worthy. Nevertheless, I would avoid to take it in summer due to the hot temperatures (there is not A/C)
We visited here as part of a trip organised by tui arrived by boat then travelled by tram to the village and took the train through the mountains towards palma. highly recommended dont even have to be a old train enthusiast to enjoy the experience
Nice ride ✌🏻 .. tickets on the board (8 Euro per person..
Great experience! A wee bit expensive for the shorter ride. It was €8 per person including kids when we went. The ride is about 25 mins from the port to the main town. But I would say, if visiting either area for the day, this should be done. It’s just a scenic beautiful experience and a convenient way to get from point A to point B and back again.
Very nice experience! It is smart to calculate plenty of time if you are going here and also want to visit Port de Soller, there is a lot to experience and time flies! Beautiful city.
Booked through Tui before we left for holiday. Really good experience would definitely recommend it.
If you push to Soller on the wooden train dont miss the last two miles on the ferrocarril. To reach port de Soller.
The best trip with the train in my life 😊
An incredible experience rolling up and through the hills of Mallorca. Beautiful scenery from the mountainside, brings a new perspective to the island.
On our second trip to Soller - check the train return times at the station before departure as the return times will be different - they had added two trains to return to Palma but as we had booked on line we had opted for the last train (1400 or 1830 were the only ones shown online- we had to queue to see if there were spaces on an earlier train.Fantastic train journey to this place, take in the wonderful country side and then the coastal views, amazing.Soller is a great place to walk around slowly and enjoy a cold glass of beer and some food.A must for your places to visit 😊
Not cheap for a train ride but worth the experience! Enjoyed it a lot.Was busy, full and warm but cool thing to do in Mallorca
A must do activity if you’ll ever come to Sóller, a fun way to explore the city of sóller, puerto de Sóller and the areas around. Try to take the later in the afternoon so you can enjoy the sunset onboard, really something nice to experience 👌
There only have two direction from town to Port or Palma. So no option for town visiting by train. we did pay for 1 stop (half pricefor kid then walk back to town car park. Not friendly for visitor of car renter.
Lovely train ride on 200 year old train & carriages from Palma to Soller. Great sights of the landscape, then through the mountains to charming town. Quick ride down to Port on an old style tram. All quite charming
Great scenic train ride across the mountains of Mallorca
Very nice! Weve enjoyed this trip and it was a nice experience. Especially for our daughter.
Must see of Soller. Beautiful train which can be often seen to set off from the station behind the church. Great photos of it setting off & going through the town centre.
Amazing experience traveling on train of this age. Traveling across the island and seeing parts you dont normally experience while on holiday.Highly recommend this for all.
A well worth experience to get to Soller from Palma. Worth booking in advance and being aware of the mask mandate.
For 8 euros, you get to ride the historic, 1913 wooden tram from Soller to the Port of Soller. The line is 3km long and takes about min. Some carts are open on the side and have standing areas. A fun ride through the narrow streets of old town Soller.
Great experience. We had to wait in the ticket qur for maybe an hour but the ride itself worth every minute. Great scenery along the route and the city of Sóller it is a must see.
Worst "tourist attraction" ever, totally NOT worth the money. More than half the ride jad no view, either because tunnels, high walls along the tracks, or the underside of Palma
Loved the ride through Soller to the port. Sometimes the trams was really full, but since we didnt catch the first one right off the train from Palma, there was more room on the next ones. Coming back was really crowed. And we had to stand. But that wasnt a problem since the ride is not too long. The timetables were a bit confusing, but I guess since there were lots of people the tram ran non stop and was easy to catch this way. Loved it!
It was worth spending €96.00 for 3 of us for this train and a tram in Soller. The trip from Palma to Soller takes around 40min and the views on both sides are spectacular.
Amazing 30 minutes trip with great square end upYou pay 7 euro in one way and 7 more to come back but its worthy
While its definitely a tourist trap and overly expensive, its still a fun ride from Palma to Soller. Plenty of seats. Due to covid the trains only run once a day and return in late afternoon. Still a fun thing to do.
We went on the tram as it was one of those things we felt like we had to do whilst in Soller. It took us from the main town to the port, which was a beautiful place. We spent half an hour in the port before getting the tram back to Soller. Not really much can be said about the tram itself; it’s an old tram, but certainly something I would recommend to do once if you ever visit the town. It is quite expensive however, costing €14 euros each to get to the port and back.
An amazing trip on the Orange Train from Palma to Soller. Magnificent views from the original coaches...the trip completely lived up to our expectations of the train journey, first seen on the TV of Michael Portillo Great European Railway Journeys 👏👏
The train journey was wonderful. For some, it might be boring if you dont care about landscapes and culture. It was a bit hot on the sunny side, but otherwise it was very refreshing through the open windows. But the landscape was very impressive. Especially the 10-minute stay just before Sóller asked for a beautiful view over the city and a distant view of the sea. After arriving in Sóller you can continue with the oldest tram in operation in Europe to "Port de Sóller".
Loved this trio on the old tram starts in the centre of the busy villisge ( we went on market day takes you straight to a beautiful beach with stunning waters and a few shops /hotels restaurantsFairly cheap to go on , just beautiful
