A must read very informitive !!!I booked Ferns Boquete Inn for 3 nights.I booked Half Board .At the time of booking I made a special request for an airport pick up. On reaching Male airport .I was looking for the hotel person . No one turned up .Then I called the hotel they said their car had a break down ,charges one way informed was $10 usd by the hotel.However we jumped a Taxi just outside the airport to the hotel for 100 MVR .which is equivalent to $6 usd. Which was much more cheaper than the hotel TaxiThe Hotel is basic and clean the staff are not courteous and helpful..most staff working are Bangladeshi. Dont expect a VIP treatment.The Tv in the room never worked all throughout our stay and when informed they were very casual about it and did not bother.The Wi-Fi is very poor in the roomsTHE ONLY HIGHLIGHT ABOUT THIS HOTEL AND THE ROOM WE BOOKED ,WAS THE OCEAN VIEW.Breakfast IS NOT A BUFFET .Lunnch / Dinner IS NOT A BUFFET EITHER.If you book B&B you have a choice of American ,Continental or maldivian ....which is just not so good enuf for 1 person.If you book Half Board or Full Board.All you get is $10 usd per person for either lunch or dinner to order from their food menu.Do also remember every place charges a 6% GST tax and 10% service charge on every food bill.Hotel food recommended must try the Beef chilli and Beef curry was yummy.Exchange rate .$1 usd = 15 MVRCommuting around .You have local public bus service .the Bus stop is just outside the hotel to male Airport charges are 20 MVR per personHotel to Male city is 5 MVR one way per person on your way back its 10 MVR per personThings to carry1. A umbrella is a must as the weather is very unpredictable. suddenly it rains from being bright and sunny and if you are caught in the rain you will be totally drenched.2. If you can carry your own snorkelling gear will be a bonus as you can snorkel anywhere at anytime.3.A multipin traveller plug as the sockets are Europen style.4. Moisturiser cream as body skin goes dry with the weather and water .Recommended stay in this hotel : 1 day or 2 days .There are lots of local cafe,shops and fruit market along the road near the hotel.Its much cheaper to go out and dine outside at local places.Do not book tour or packages from the Hotel ,as its pricey ,if you walk around the vicinity you will get the same packages for a bargain.Places to visit around the hotel.Not much really just the coast ,swim, a walk by the local shops etc.You can jump a bus in the daytime and get to Male city which has a Big Market, Mosque and the docks.There is A bit of walking doing in Male as the city is very congested and buses cant make it thru.

Rooms were small and stinking, wifi was very very slow, pathetic room service, discourteous staff, do regret staying at this hotel.

Noisy because bar downside. The room offer deluxe over city is small simple room over building.

First I had arranged for airport transfer it did not arrive. Luckily there are an abundant of taxis in Ma le. Theres a musky smell in the room and tv is not working. I know its one of the cheaper rooms but I hope it can be better. Breakfast was decent though!

Not so good.. But ok.. I book here for 4 days 3 nights cause i have job in TreeTop Hospital. Breakfast is Free . But Dinner and Lunch are different package. So i take Dinner, they have limits for dinner, around 6 usd per person, not so bad, i can accept, staff at restaurant quite nice. Lets talk about room, overall im a bit disappointed. Tv just got 2 channel, so boring. Then WiFi quite slow. A/C not really cool, heater also same. Room telephone are not working well. But this room really clean, size i can accept, not too small not too big. Toiletries are not complete, u must buy tooth brush, tooth paste, soap by your own self. Furthrmore, complementary such as coffea ,tea and ect are not provided in room. Improvement needed

It wasnt quiet enough for a nap before my evening flights, but it was comfortable enough to relax and have a meal.

We booked in advance and paid for this hotel for two nights and organised airport transport as well but they didn’t show up for an hour. When we called they even suggested we take the bus!!!!!!! We ended up not going to the hotel because of the level of professionalism. Zero stars!

Stayed there twice before, rooms were clean and you got what you paid for. However on my 3rd trip I never got picked up from the airport so I was left waiting outside the airport for 12hrs, despite stating twice per email to be collected from the info desk.I previously had problems with their hotel-airport transfer as well that had me waiting an hour for pickup. The driver was also texting and driving both times that I used them before. No bueno.So the hotel is fine for a "B&B" style place to rest, but dont count on the hotel pickup to be dependable.

It was a wonderful stay here. Clean rooms, nice beach area, helpful and friendly employees of hotel, restaurant and watersports. Such great teamwork in service delivery. Good hospitality i would say.For better connectivity and online experience in maldives, Ooredoo is recommended.

One of the first comers in hulhumale island. I guess the management has been changed. Dont see the maintenance work been carried out. But the hotel is v clean and staff are helpful. Food is average. Situated in beach front with water sports on its menu.

Friendly helpful staff clean room . Bad points the bathroom had a large vent basically letting every noise from outsids in so woken up firstly by the mosque at 5am then se planes overhead from 6.30 am

This well worn hotel has outstanding views from the higher levels. It is clean and the staff are helpful. The food is decent. The room was showing its age and felt it had many stories to tell.

Arrived after long flight.stayed one night before heading up islands.clean room.Hot shower.we had evening meal and breakfast .staff helped with onward travel information and taxis.budget accom.safeplace.bank around the corner worked as the airport ones do not.shops nearby and other eateries.property across from beach..building work going on around the area which did not disturb our short stay.

Lovely for a short stay

This was our 5th day in maldives and 3rd island. We visited male and stayed at novina then we visited maafuahi and syated at salt beach. Both were amazing places and stay was excellent. Then we came to hulhumale and our painful last 2 days started. When we arrived at the reception, the receptionist was rude, he had no idea that we are arriving and made us stand for 20 mins in corridor. There were no chairs aslo. We got our room 20 mins later and room was pathetic. Internet did not work the whole time. We thought of watching tv it also did not work. When we complained they say it is working in other rooms. They said our phone has pblm. For tv they say its not working in maldives anywhere but we knew they were lying.It did not end, evening the ac started leaking and we had to spleep opposite to the bed.In sort they ruined our last days of holiday and i would strongly recommend no one to visit fern. They also charged us 238$ for 2 days where as other places charges where 184$ for 2 days, there was 38$ extra written on our bill which receptionist refused to explan while checkout because he was housekeeper and no one came so they made him sit. Also we informed them about our next day flight and taxi arrangements which they totally forgot amd we had to manage at the end.It was a horrible experience staying at fern.

Nice view from rooms, just on the seaside. Nice hotel. No lift. You need to walk the way up.

Hotel is ok.. I stayed with family of 5 members including 3 kids. The rooms are very small and room services are not good enough to rate this hotel excellent. I would say average rating hotel. Beach front is only plus point for this property. Breakfast was with little options and need to requested for butter and jam which were free and abundant every where we went. with family not recommended. Amir Gulzar

Prices are a big question. As you will be charged1/3 of the price just taxes ( bed tax !!! ). Breakfast is good. Near to beach. Easy to find. Rooms are clean even need maintenence. Island as a whole is expensive ( excursionsand dirty island. Go better to Maafushi

Stayed here 2 nights with 6 days gap in between. The hotel is right in front of the beach! First night was pretty good, with good service (although pick up from airport was late). The room was decent sized and clean. Facilities expected were provided. Breakfast in the morning was good too. Later we came back after a few days for a second night which was 2/5 at best. The pick up was late again by over 40 mins. At the hotel, though I had requested for the same room, it was not available and was given the room next to it. It turned out to be smaller than the first one and so many things went wrong. The switches in the room werent working, the TV wasnt working (later fixed), the double bed was two single beds joined together and turned out to be uncomfortable to sleep on in the middle. But yeah overall its still a good place. Just a bad second experience. Still recommended.

Best location in Hulhumale. Sea view, Wifi, 5 seconds away from the beach, good food and most importantly the service are awesome. Rooftop restaurant, beach sitting, water sports guide, airport pick and drop. Just love the place
