Nice experience on the trip but it takes way to long for food.

The boat ride was informative, learned a few new things. The beach bar was OK. Food was nice and delicious. View spectacular. The water was full of grass so we did not swim. We had to wait quite a while before we could go back with a boat, even though they said there will be a water taxi every hour, that didnt happen.

Amazing experience, great food, friendly staff, enjoyable boat trip!

We kayaked over to the beach bar during an afternoon. We hadnt planned our trip ahead so it was a spontaneous visit and we didnt arrive with cash. Zanelle was our waitress and we asked if we could eft payment so that we could order drinks and food. Zanelle went out of her way - she couldnt allow the eft for the restaurant but personally took responsibility for our account and we were able to eft into her personal account. What a star! We enjoyed a glass of wine, cocktails, milkshakes and chips, a really fun adventure and something different to do.What a pity the beach bar is open for such a short "season" I think locals would love to continue to visit for many weeks yet - perhaps they could reduce the opening hours and keep it open a while longer.There is currently a water taxi running hourly from Cruise Cafe if you dont feel like swimming there or have access to a kayak/boat.

Party after party and vibes

We were at the beach bar today and although we thoroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere, the reception upon our arrival from the two ladies at the jetty was very poor. We were told that both restaurants were presently full and no effort was made to make us feel welcome. The staff manning the boats were great as were the waitresses at the Beach Bar restaurant. We have supported the Beach Bar for several years and this is the first time we have been turned away by the reception ladies.

A magical place near the heads of Knysna.

Lovely, secluded place, unfortunately seems like lockdown affected a lot of their activities. Hiking trails are still closed. To get there, there is a shuttle from Knysna. It is also possible to paddle or even swim from Leisure Island at low tide. Food is average, but definitely a lovely morning or afternoon out. Absolutely deserves 5* when hiking opens up to public.

What a nice experience! We went across the lagoon on the Featherbed shuttle and enjoyed lunch at the beach bar. Food was good and the views amazing. Will highly recommend it when you visit Knysna.

Waited forever for our food (at least 1hourand when it came there were no chips (french fries), they had run out. My girlfriends food was raw

Love afternoon break with family. Kids could play on beach and swim whilst we eat and watch.

Wonderful experience, not to be missed

Very nice experience, views are spectacular. Staff are friendly and very professional. We where pleasantly welcomed on arrival and service from the start where quick and efficient. Everyone has a smile on their face. Was lovely to be there. I can reccomend this place and I will be doing it again in the future.

After hearing all the hype about the new Featherbed Beach Bar, we arrived, sat and left in disappointment. It must have been a bad day for the staff as they were all incredibly unfriendly and unhelpful, the food was poorly made and thrown onto the plate, we all got bitten at least once by the mice that run around the bar floorboards, and with an already limited menu, they couldn’t serve many of drink and meal options. But at least the view was marvelous.

It was amazing, all the staff were friendly and the food was good. I will definitely go back when I am in Knysna again.

The Reserve is at treat to walk around. The Facilities and restaurants are world class. And now the introduction of night entertainment makes it truly worth visiting.

Beautifull Lagoon view with friendly staff.

View is amazing but the service is terrible. Waiter didnt know the menu and couldnt answer questions. Our burger buns werent even buttered. Coffee was brought but no sugar was provided. We were never checked up during our meal and sat without service for over an hour.

We visited the beach bar and the service was shocking and the staff were incredibly rude. When we arrived we were informed that the kitchen was closed, but that we could order drinks. We went to sit at a table and waited. No one came to the table to serve us. Eventually we went to enquire at the bar. We were very rudely told that they were closed and that they couldnt serve us. We then went to the bar upstairs and a very rude and grumpy tour guide told us that the bar was only open to visitors on the tours. He then told us to "go back to where you came from". We promptly left and we will most certainly never return. There are much better places to visit in the Knysna area. Rather go to the East Head Café - their service is good, food is delicious and the view is even better!

Stopped by for some drinks this afternoon. The view and location is amazing, but the service is horrible!! Extremely slow and crew mixing the simple orders multiple times...

Service is horrible... Employees are disrespectful.3 groups of people were seated and served before my group with the manager and a waiter aware that we were waiting for a small table before those groups arrived... most drinks only served after you done eating your meal even though it was ordered before the order of your meal and the food was pretty average if not below once finally received, shocked after such a long wait...Finally found the worst restaurant in Knysna after all the years of coming!

Shocking service and attitude from manager Lizelle , only too keen to get rid of a treble of 16 so she can knock off.Really bad as featherbed and knysna are struggling to recover from the fire damageLast you see of my spend in knysna

Definitely one of the coolest spots in Knysna. Check the flags to make sure that the bar is open. Cross the lagoon on your own steam. Throw down anchor and enjoy a cocktail in the sun.
