Fausto's - Italian restaurant in Budapest XX. kerület, Hungary
Delicious, great ambiance, and excellent service - our new favorite restaurant to celebrate special occasions
Authentic Italian fine dining restaurant. Amazing service and delicious food! Their wine selection is incredibly good as well!
I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. I usually reserve lamb for when my grandmother cooks it with mint green jelly but I took a chance on Faustos with their lamb loin and boy am I glad I did! It was absolutely divine! All of the servers who served us were wonderful. It was an amazing dining experience and I would recommend it for everyone! So glad we came to Faustos on our honeymoon and we look forward to returning on our next trip to Budapest!
Fish was oversalted and undercooked. Eggplant soup .....dont even go there. Sour tasting. To please me, and offset my disappointment, the chef brought me a stale piece of cookie.Huge disappointment. Waiter basically ordered me to take my bottle of water off the table. This is on the day when its 38 degrees in Budapest and one needs to stay hydrated.
5 star service, delicious food. Nothing to add.Zac
Pretty pricey to Budapest standards. Small dishes for what you pay, there were only a couple prawns in the dish. The dessert was still frozen. Service is excellent.
Beautiful restaurant with excellent service.Wine suggestion was excellent and the servers were warm and professional.
We’ve spent a lovely night here with our friends. Everything was fantastic. Five star service.
Amazing business lunch 👌
Nice and elegant atmosphere, food is 4 stars, nothing special tbh, but the portions are extra tiny.
Its the place with meals made to perfection. Each plate served is piece of art. If you feel sad for some reason - go to Faustos. You are not going to be disappointed. Order tortellini with carrot paste. Order fryed goat cheese. Most meals has micro greens for very special experience. It gives wonderful aroma to the whole course. I recommend the restaurant Faustos with all my heart.
Nice spot. Place is pricey and a bit much really. Prefer a more relaxed setting but my fault for booking. Food portions are very small. Service was however excellent.
Stumbled upon this restaurant and consider ourselves extremely lucky. We were staying at the Marriott and it’s not too far from that hotel. It was a Saturday evening and they were completely booked, but squeezed us in upstairs. My husband had the veal and I had pasta with truffles. Both were delicious. We also had soup...also delicious. Fabulous selection of wines.Presentation, service, ambiance, food....all 5 stars.
We ate there dinner at 22.9.21, a family of 4 people. We reserved a place in advance, but it was to another Fausto restaurant, in Brooklyn NYC….when we arrived to the restaurant we said that we have reservation, but they couldnt find it. But they "arranged" a table for us, after a 20 minutes waiting. We sat in a round table, in a very exclusive atmosphere. They first serve some tasty snakes and bread, like the restaurants in Italy. They also give you "all can you drink" mineral water (all of that costs 1500 FT per person). The dishes are small (e.g. the Ravioli with fish is only 4 units), so I and the kid had to order 2 pasta dishes. My wife ate a salad. The food is served very well designed. You can see the pasta pictures. We had only 1 dessert – Tiramisu, which was very good. We paid ~60,000 FT, including service (the service is good). We couldnt understand why there is no Pizza in the menu. BTW – Fausto himself takes the orders, and gives the bill.In general – Its a good Italian restaurant (Gourmet), but quiet expensive for Budapest.
First of all: the food is excellent and top notch - no negative comments on that! It was my 4th visit here, but this time, some things were not OK:- The staff acts very blunt and grumpy: we didnt see a single smile in the entire evening. They are not rude, just rigid, short and apathetic. We didnt feel very welcome.- We had the 4-course menu, but the portion sizes were way too small. We still felt a bit hungry after our visit and went for another desert and coffee in the city.- In the 4-course menu, the parsnip and beetroot(?creams were reused in two of the dishes. They appeared in the starter and reappeared in the main course. This is a shame.- The staff didnt ask us if we wanted any coffee or digestive after our menu.
Restaurant of choice when i next visit town. I visited the trattoria for dinner. It is simpler than the fine dining restaurant (and a bit more affordablebut im sure the quality of ingredients, cooking and service is without compromise. There are plenty of Italians in town but i believe this is the most authentic and the best. Oh, and it doesnt serve pizza!!! Phhewww!
Great food and good selection of wines (also Italian). Service was polite and professional. Real restaurant experience, we will certainly come back 🙂
I and my husband had lovely dinner here.It was my husbands birthday and they prepared for him small cake with fire cracker! The food was simple and I am so touched by the waiter’s care. Love their fancy atmosphere as well.
Fine dining restaurant with simple but excellently executed food palette, great chef, nice interior, immaculate service, waiters running around watching for the next move of the customer. Still I feel like this is a bit too pricey even at this point, as even some Michelin star restaurants are cheaper in the city. Additionally, dishes do not carry any extra which would worth the extra price.
One of the best fine dining restaurant in Budapest for decades, on the same high quality of service and food. Northern Italian cuisine. Elegant interior, perfectionism. Highly recommended.
Taste. Taste. Taste. Sounds TOTALLY banal - I know - but the tastes beat or is equal to many of my most memorable restaurant meals. They certainly know their wines too. Ive only eaten here twice so far.
The food creations were simply splendid. The coctails full of sparkle and freshness. The staff was professional yet friendly. Remarkable experience!!!
Our first night in Budapest and the city did not disappoint. We found this beautiful restaurant on Google and didnt have a reservation but were greeted and sat with no issue whatsoever. Trendy and contemporary decor partnered with a balanced modern and traditional option menu - the food was incredible as was the paired wines. (Highly recommend the beef cheekService could not be faulted, attentive and incredibly helpful/friendly. In closing an absolutely fantastic dining experience and would most definitely re visit and recommend.
Without a doubt the best Italian restaurant in Budapest. They may not serve pizza, but there are plenty of other places for that. The tasting menu in the osteria changes weekly, 5 courses can be had for as little as €40-60. Each dish perfectly prepared with select premium ingredients. A treat every single time.
amazing food and excellent service! highly recommend lobster w spinach & lemon tart
Great food and excellent service!
Outstanding food. Highly recommended. Each dish was perfect (recommend the pasta with lobster; best tasting lobster I’ve ever had). High-end restaurant definitely worth the price.
Great servic, fancy restaurant. You could try coming without a reservation for lunch, we had the whole place to ourselves. Food was good but hardly worth the steep price. Honestly 2 spaghetti had better pasta...However, the atmosphere is really unique.
We had an amazing dinner at Faustos. Delicious food and wonderful service. We were really impressed. I would describe the place with 2 words: QUALITY and STYLE. I can only recommend to everyone!
My favourite Italian fine dining restaurant in downtown Budapest. This time we tried the lunch menu and were not disappointed with it. They were helpful in adjusting the menu to my gluten allergy. Friendly service, nice interior, delicious food, highly recommended.
Great dishes, fantastic service feels like the chef knows what he is doing
This place has an amazing atmosphere and the kitchen is the best.
Super service, extremely delicious meals and great atmosphere. Great location for a nice dinner. Highly recommended.
Ill definitely return to this restaurant, both dishes Ive had were amazing! Ive chosen the black tagliolini with monkfish and capers, then a perfect ricotta tart with poppy seed, sour cherry and pistachio, wow! The plates were beautiful, the pasta was al dente, everything was fresh and szuper tasty. All of the waitresses were really nice and professional. Probably the best Italian restaurant in Budapest! Michelin recommends it, well so do I.
Shrimp avocado salad was excellentSea fruits soup was excellentSea bass was just normalNice atmosphere
Fab restaurant. Chose set lunch menu. Great choice. Corn soup with a basket of amazing local breads. Salmon seared on bulgar and a delicious lemon and kiwi desert. Service unobtrusive and excellent.
More Northern Italian style of food with Southern touches, done pretty well with some faults (e.g., the gnocchi dish in general). If I came back, it would be for the souflé or lasagna. Other dishes are good, though. Prices a little high but thats normal for Italian cuisine outside Italy.
Best Italian trattoria and fine dining place in Budapest with the personal attention of the chef to each guest. Excellent food and wine, great service at a reasonable price level.
Absolutely amazing.Attention to detail, excellent food, an impressive selection of whines, professional waiters and waitresses, easy to reach (close to Blaha Luiz Ter)... Fantastic.Prices are extremely good for such a restaurant: 150,00€ for two people (2 starters, 2 main courses, wine, water, coffee).Im impressed.Easily one of the best culinary experiences you can have in all Budapest!
Good - YMMV: Nice Italian bistro/restaurant that is on the fancy side of things. Prices are low compared to other fancy places if you stick to the bistro side of the place: paid 42 euros for two mains, soup, and water.Menu choices are a bit limited and are NOT your usual pizza/pasta offerings. In fact, there was no pizza to speak of, so dont go there expecting such. However, the food is well made and tastefully done.Staff and service were excellent during my experience. I would dock a point for lack of menu variety and portion size being on the smaller side, but that would not be objective to be honest.Worth trying for sure however.
Lovely eating and wonderful service. Great food and superb wine. Could not ask for more.
Great restaurant with top quality food. Not expensive in my opinion. Staff is nice and polite. Recommended
Amazing experience. The food was delicious; fresh and tasty fish, very good wine to go with it. Service was excellent and the value for money is impressive - worthy of a five-star review. The place was nice and very popular, due to the quality and quantity of the food they serve.
We visited the "osteria" section, which is moreblaid back then the "ristorante". Waiters are exceptionally polite and caring, the meals were super delicious, and not even overpriced. Can only recommend.
delicous food for amazing prices!we found this place after some research of finding fresh truffles, the service was exelent, and the food was good despite its small portions! the prices are what took me aback as a student traveling with their mother to foot the bill; would defenetly come back!
We had the five course degustation. The first course - octopus - was truly excellent. The remaining four were high in quality but never quite reached the same heights. The pasta was the most disappointing, oddly.
Definitely worth a visit, especially if you want the excellent-value lunch menu (3 set courses). Food quality is excellent, portions are adequate, but not huge. We each had the lunch special (pea soup, salmon fillet, caramel panna cotta), and split a pasta (duck tagliatelleand were completely satisfied. Service was friendly and efficient.
Wonderful place !!! The restaurant is divided in 2 parts. We ate in the "Astoria" part, the more casual (stricter dress code for the other). The decoration, the food, the service, everything was perfect. For a really tiny price: 65€ for 2, for a 3 courses menu. One of the best gastro you can find.
One of the best restaurant in Budapest !!! Well revisited Italian food!!! We are crazy about this place !
Fresh and tasty food. Friendly and professional staff. One of the best Italian restsurants in Budapest. Deserts are must!Nice collection of wines but no half dry red wines are served. Price is around 30 Euro per person: starter + main course (with one glass of wine). Go there and you thank me)))
