Fatt Kee Restaurant - Seafood restaurant in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia
Fatt Kee Restaurant in Kota Kinabalu
Description
Privilege
Came here as recommended by locals. Ordered their signature mixed fish soup with kolo mee, fish paste noodle and fish head noodle. Kolo new was a let down, tasteless. Soups a little heavy on tomatoes, taste like tomato soup fish noodle if you opt for no milk, light and lack of fish head noodle broth taste. Service was fast, queue needed as this place is always crowded by tourists. Not very much to my likings, I think KLs taste much better.
MoreThe portion is really big, and it tastes really good. Couldnt find the same taste back in West Malaysia, so we would always frequent this shop whenever were back in KK. Waiters were abit slow to take our orders, but perhaps thats just because of the crowd.
MoreTomYum Seafood soup is sooooo 😋 delicious...one must try if you are in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia! Nice recommendation by Ms ChaiMui Lin and of course by the kid whom I met randomly in the mall!
MoreNoodles come in soup, tomato or tom yam variety, with fish paste, fish skin, fried wan tan etc. Given 3 big fresh prawns 4 d tom yam soup Noodles mee hoon, tasty 😋😋n not salty. Foods portion is enough for 2 persons🤩🤩
MoreThe best Fish Head Noodle Soup I have had so far.The mee hoon fried fish slices with skim milk is to go for, fresh fish slices, slightly sour soup from the tomatoes, with a little bit of skim milk to give it some body.Highly recommended, and its Muslim friendly.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
MoreREALLLYY IMPRESSED BY THIS SOOOO MUCH!Both soups are equally gooood, where the tomato soup beat ALLL yu tau mai soups in KL. The soup is full of sweet tomato and fresh fish taste. Whereas the tomyam soup feels like the tomato soup + tomyam paste, def have a try if you are a spicy lover! The cons is that the menu is abit complicated and it can hard for a first timer to order. Can try mix everything if you are first timer. Can try out their fried fucuk(made from fish pasteand fried wantan as their fried stuffs are really well. Also note that the fried fish are more fragrant than the steam/cooked fish slice.
MoreThe reviews don’t lie! The Tom yum noodle soup is really good !I would definitely say that this place is a must go when you are visiting KK.The fish taste fresh and the Tom yum broth is very fragrant with a lot of tastes and herbs inside! Make sure to bring your friends as they have other food to order too!
MoreIt’s a famous place to come, the food is good but don’t feel like it can be so much famous. Anyway good to try
MoreHad a very lovely breakfast at this shop. Their fish paste and fish dishes are so good.
MoreAMAZING SOUP.Especially the tomato soup, aromatic tomato profile, slightly sour but not too much. Cooked in a flavourful broth. So good....Tom yum was nice as well! Super "kaw", strong aromatic and thick soup texture. The tom yum wasnt that spicy, suitable for most. Will be back!
MoreThis place get crowded during peak. Maybe due to it being famous. Ordered tomato soup based with fish. It’s a real comfort food. Easy to eat. Soup base was full of flavour. Fish cake was great as well. Crispy and juicy. If I were to return, I will try the fried fish. Overall, it was great. Will recommend for those who passes by.
MoreNice food , some ppl didnot like to add on milk .For me ,i like add on milk inside my soup 😍Overall is nice ..Must try the fish cake 🤩
MoreOrdered the tomato broth soup, bee hoon noodles with deep fried fish fillets. Refreshing but a broth a bit salty. Great for hangover.
MoreI have been craving for this fish soup dish for quite awhile. Kuching had this before but after MCO the stall never recovered and had to cease business operations. Nevertheless now that I’m in KK for work till about a week, am happy that i get to enjoy this dish. However personally I would have ordered the soup with the beehun instead of cheng with Kon lo mee, the mee was too much for me. I ordered the tomato without the skim milk…i like the sourish tangy taste. Would i go back to this stall, the answer is yes. Oh ya the calamansi with assamboi drink is highly recommended.
MoreWent there for dinner because of the good reviews. The tom yum soup base is flavorful and nice.
MoreAmazing creamy tomyam soup mee hoon. Absolutely delicious and recommended! Fishes so fresh
MoreThe foods are very delicious. The tomyam is very creamy. Some foods a bit pricey. But since it is good, so not much complain.
MoreSuperb seafood. Especially like the fish maw and fish lips. Tomato base soup the best, tomyam a bit overpowering the freshness of the seafood.
MoreThis was my first time having tom yum here back after say, 3 years, and well unfortunately it was not the nice taste i remember - its much hotter now, less tasty compare to previous one, The size / portion is too much for one person, should have option of a smaller bowl.
MoreDidnt have much time to spend in KK but since this was recommended to me by a local, decided to give it a try. All the dishes were pretty good, especially the 红烧 (braised? stir fried?fish, but would get less noodles in the tomyum one because it soaks up all the broth.
MoreAfter 2 years of MCO, I am back to KK Sabah and revisit this famous Fatt Kee Fish Noodle. The Tom yam is incredible good!
MoreWe had breakfast here after recommendations from our Sabahan friends. they mentioned it was a must-visit for them every time they fly back to KK.I tried the tomato based soup and it was delicious! It was well balanced and not too sour, the fried fish slices were well marinated and the coral grouper meat we had was really fresh! My friends had the Tom yam base, and mentioned it was spicy but not too spicy. It was just perfect! They also had generously sized portions of fish meat and fish head in their noodles. Then, we tried the friend wantans, It was generously filled with the fish filling and sized appropriately. All in all, would come again!
MoreTheir tomato noodle soup not bad, and their fried fish cake are quite nice. A lot of people during meal time.
MoreThe Seafood Noodles has two flavours. The original which has eash and every type of Seafood besides fish and prawn there is sea cucumber, squids, fish maw etc and the soup taste so good ...souring and flavourful...something like the teocheow steam fish gravy but its the soup with beehoon. Then theres the tomyam Seafood Noodles with thick slices of fried fish and if you taste this soup first then you wont find the original tasty....not tasted suchlike Seafood soup Noodles in KL yet
MorePrice is at least rm15 for a meal and drink. I ordered Tomato susu noodle, soup is refreshing, fish is good.My friend order tomyam noodle, the portion is big, can share for 2. Rm22 for tomyam. Can try the teh tarik madras.
MoreThose craving for fresh or fried fish noodle and mee hoon soup, you should try. Tom yam and other side dish also got.
MoreFood is really delicious and fish slides is quite fresh too. When we came there are a lot local eating at here. Price is reasonable too and they accept E wallet payment too.
MoreCame here because of the popularity. Tomato soup is nice very flavourful, tomyum is flavourful but too creamy to my liking, prefer clearer soup tomyum, dry noodle is very bland. We ordered mixed everything, the ingredients in the soup was made from variety of fish based processed food. Only found 1 pc of fried fish which is nothing special.
MoreI ordered the meehoon fish mix soup (RM11and a kitchai asam boi (RM4).There are many other options of fish available (although it is more pricey), such as grouper, red snapper, coral grouper, etc.Portions are rather small for the price. It tastes decent but nothing particularly special.
MoreTomyum soup the bestTomato soup + evaporated milk also jengFish is fresh.
The 7Star Red Grouper Noddle is fresh and tender, the best in valued for money!
Love the tomyum here, very thick, very tasty, very drinkable. Ordered fried fish, its okay, good to go with Tomyum. Noodle is so so, a bit too soft to my favourite.
MoreThe good review on google brought me there. Ordered the tomato soup base, 2 prawns and few piece of fish fillets, it cost RM19 but it just tasteless if eating without the chili. The drink cost me RM3 was tasteless too.😅The staffs don’t bother even they saw me walk in and sit down. Foods don’t impress and service is pretty disappointed.
MoreLong queue, the fried fuchok and wantan was worth the wait, the fish are delicious but not quite fancy the tomato soup
MoreThe most tasteless and over priced seafood noodle I have ever experienced. Moreover the shop even cheated tourists by selling 50 cents parking coupon at 1.50 each. Dont waste your money and spoil your meal with them.
MoreOverpriced if you pick and choose, ends up being even more expensive than getting a bowl with everything inside. Bizarre. Tomato soup is alright, as is the tomyum. Nothing special. Fish tastes meh
MoreMust try in KK, superb taste, strongly recommended to all tourist while visiting Kota Kinabalu, fresh fish in tomato soup or tomyam soup, both taste very very good, Sabah 5 stars food 👍👍👍
MoreDon’t think this place needs more introduction and they haven’t failed me so far - wide selection for soup base on the menu, freshly fried garoupa and big portion. My personal favorite would be plain/tomato based soup with fried fish slices.Highly recommended.
Moreinteresting fish noodle shop..personally I like their tomyam one best.. although its more expensive than the normal soup ones..but worth it.. fills up my stomach warmly..
MoreThe tomyam soup taste quite heavy but in a good way. Suitable for those who tolerates spicy food. Cost about RM22 per bowl of tomyam soup mee hoon+fried fish fillet slices. Fish tasted good and fresh. This place is quite crowded during lunch time. Luckily, there are ample of parking space nearby this restaurant.Edit: the second time I came here, the tomyam soup tasted the same like last time, however the fried fish fillet is either not fresh or its overcooked. Fillet is quite hard and a bit chewy.
MoreCame because many came but totally over rated. The fish and fish balls were not marinated before so they were devoid of any flavors or taste. It was the soup that gave the accompanying taste.
MoreMain reason; tourist..local diner really give good review about tis place...which i felt they are not lying! The tomatos soup pair with fried fish slices..damn so good. But if you a person who prefer heavy flavour like tom yam..should order the tom yam soup. Services offer also good. Staffs working around the clock non stop and fast👍👍no mistake with orders..shows their competent with their work. Kudos to the owner! Well trained. Open 6.40am..which quite early. But customers ready in line to dine in. Hav i talk about the fried wantan which filled with fish meat..muah🥰 taste realy good. Somehow, with such taste, such services..prices is no cheap.😁😅
MoreThe Tom yam soup and tomato soup with fresh mixed fish were both excellent. We came back again on our trip given the quality.
MoreWords cannot describe my 1st experience here. The boss was very nice and helpful. I definitely and highly recommend this place. Worth every cent.
MoreFamous for their seafood noodle. They offer tomato and tom yum soup base, both are equally good. There are various toppings including thick fish slice (majority grouper), fish paste etc that come in generous portion. Alongside sang yuk mee and beef noodle, this is another go to spot.
MoreRecommended for fish noodle. Always had this every time we come to KK! We had soup fish mixed and tomyum mixed.
MoreNo kidding the tomyam is as amazing as hyped by my local friends. Minus one star for the weird smell at some sitting spots. That’s a big turn off. Ordered fried rice and the rice was soft but helll, go for the tomyam. amazing af
MoreMini Sabah Food HuntsNow before you start to think or ask questions such as "you can travel to Sabah during MCO meh?", let me clarify that this East Malaysia trip took place end of 2019 nearing 2020.Upon reaching the capital of Sabah and collected our rental car, everyones tummy was growling with hunger and the first itinerary was to head for lunch. Our first destination and it came highly recommended by my friend who had visited Fatt Kee during her trip to KK earlier - she came not once, but twice. Thats why she die die also implored me to go.I havent stepped onto Sabah soil for more than 14 years and the traffic has gotten heavier. Still I arrived at my intended destination not long after. It wasnt lunch time yet but boy, it sure felt like one as the huge crowds were enjoying their meal at the restaurant.◾seafood noodle in clear soup or tomyam soup - the choice and combinations are practically limitless, as one can easily adds any ingredients that he/she wants on top of whats in the regular menu. Oh yes, they also have dry style noodle.◾Choice of seafood - Take your pick on regular fish, grouper, coral grouper (七星班), even King Grouper aka Long Dan. Parts such as fish head, fish maw, fish lips, fish ball, fish paste, fish slice, sea cucumber, even fish skins (with collagen-like texturesare available. If these cant satisfy you, they also have prawns and other seafoods to add on. Eat like a king!!!◾fried meehoon with mixed fish - I found myself liking this dish that I ordered for the kids, who normally dont like seafood in general. Packed with the essential wok hei.◾fried beancurd skin and wantan filled generously with fish meat - what can I say? Addictive snacks that you can order while waiting for your orders.Needless to say, all of us had a tummy-filling, satisfying lunch with everyone praising the freshness of the seafoods which are famous in Sabah. We continued our journey towards Kundasang happily after that.
MoreYou want fresh food high in DHA? Head over here because of the fresh fish and prawn they served! I maybe late to love this place but hey its never too late for anything in life.
MoreCame here in 2019 and I hope this place is still open. This place is so good, I came here thrice 😂. This is one of the best seafood noodles I’ve ever had. Come here if you want to sample the freshest of fish and all its offals. Here are what we had 😋1. Fresh fish slices vermicelli in tomato soup2. Fresh fish slices, fish maw, fish skin, fish paste and fish lips in curry soup (full monty!)3. Prawns in tomyum soup4. Braised fish skin and fish lips - this one’s delicious!5. Fish paste wantons6. Stuffed fish paste in beancurd skinFood so good, it’s worth returning for 😬
