Fatboys Resort - in Gizo, Solomon Islands
Arrived yesterday from Australia and already into it snorkelling paddle boarding and enjoying fresh fish and cray with bbq crayfish tails on Kennedy island todayGood wifi in restaurant/bar. No TV but plenty of books to relax with. Having a great Fat Boys getaway. Friendly and welcoming staff attend to your every comfort. 5+ stars
place was amazing although my wife cheated on me there the name did make me laugh so alls well that ends well
Was in Gizo visiting some family and stopped over for dinner one night and it was outstanding. The entrée salad was so fresh and delicious - hands down the best salad Ive had in my whole life. Salad was fresh and sweet but not that artificial type of sweet and the service was brilliant.
This place was amazing. Incredibly peaceful, great location for fishing, kayaking and diving. Really close to historic Kennedy Island. Fresh seafood every night. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We got to know them pretty well over our three day stay and they took care of us rely well.
Loved the snorkling and hospitality
My husband and I just spent four days at Fatboys and loved every second of it. Beautiful nature, amazing staff, clear waters and a lot to do in a leisurely kinda way. The food though was the best of it all: I ate fresh fish every day and had some heavenly calamari dishes.... In fact, these were the best calamari I have ever had!
This place is heavan on earth. Reef sharks, clown fish and many more. The staff are amazing. Everyone is so so so friendly. I hope i get to come back. I miss it soooooo much.
Epic holiday! Fishing, food, snorkling, beautiful beaches and coral and lovely people.Where else can you put your snorkling gear on and launch from the platform 5 metres from your bed into sensational coral to see colourful fish, eels, seahorses, and even the regular family of 7 squid which hang around our bungalow day in day out. The occasional turtle, pods of dolphins, and spotted stingrays. Watching the local villagers paddle out in their wooden canoes hand carved to fish every day made you appreciate that you were not in a manufactured oasis. This place truly was and is paradise. The accommodation, the people, the experience and the food did not disappoint. We are already looking forward to our next trip to Fatboys. Our days were filled with beautiful weather, amazing views, sensation snorkling and trips in the poly boat or banana boats visiting islands to fish the reefs or off the beach; and plenty of time perched in the Fatboys Restaurant with a Solbrew and a glass of wine; and Steve challenging the staff (I think they all play!at games of snooker. Thanks to Manu, Dan, Leah, Roderick, Ashley, Peter, Tiro, Suzi, Calisha, Sharon and all those staff I haven’t named for such an enjoyable experience and making us feel like we were part of the family. See you all soon!
Private, idyllic, unique, friendly, fun, great food, go
Great accommodation, food only average and very expensive. You dont mind paying that much if its exelent, but it just wasnt that good.
Best relaxing resort. Fresh seafood straight from sea to plate. Friendly staff.
The most beautiful place on the planet!
Solomon Islands
Great location and friendly staff the downside is they overcharge everything, $9AUD for a coffee, $26AUD for toast with Jam and tea because they know theres no other options unless you jump on a boat and go into town. We spent almost $400 on dinner with 6 people and only ordered mains and drinks and still left hungry
Staff very nice. Very basic. Food very poor but expensive.
