We had a mixed fish platter, which was excellent. The front of house staff were very pleasant and helpful. However the whole experience was spoiled by the man who took payment. I tried to pay contactless which unknown to me didnt go through. This man told me to put my card in the machine, I was hesitant as I didnt want to pay twice. Instead of explaining he just got angry and tried to snatch my card out of my hand which I resisted. Eventually I relented and inserted the card, and later confirmed I had only paid once. I would not return simply because of his behaviour.

Unforgettable, always the best greek kitchen and fish. After so many years and we was so satisfying as the first day we was there. Thanks you all.

Definitely one of the best meals we had in Greece ever. Fresh seafood, amazing fish and some of the best flavours. Cannot recommend it enough.The squid and the octopus were out of this world, and the aubergine salad its worth stealing the recipe 😁Dont think twice if you are around!

Beautiful place with view for the sea. Second very noce amtosoehric and very nice service. They were very helpfull.Food great and fresh. Specialized in fresh seafood. Portions big. Tzatziki and fied cheese very good, fishes too, orange pie super and not too much sweet. Its great place , family business whicj goong more then 40 years

The service was sufficient, however food was average at most. That wouldn’t be a problem if the price was reasonable but in comparison with other restaurants this one is above price level. All in all would not recommend.

One of the best meals in Agios Nicholaos Crete

The best restaurant weve ever been to in Crete. The kindest and most helpful staff. Anyone who goes to Agios is mandatory to pass here. Delicious and well-served food. We dont usually repeat restaurants because we always like to try new places but we end up having dinner at Faros every night. I think that says it all.

Good, not great. The hype around this place doesnt make sense to me. Nice view, fair prices.

The food was very oily. The service overall was good except one of the waiters who was, without a reason, extremely unpolite and rude.

Although very friendly night service who really did everything they can to make our meal pleasant - I cant ignore the mediocre level of the food. This is a real tourist trap that a bunch of teenagers wrote good reviews for. The food just isnt good.

If you want simple grill seafood it is the right place. Next to the sea, super friendly and caring service and very good food!

Good food and a very personal staff!

Amazing place, great service, good food and very reasonable prices. Dont order too much because the portions are pretty big. We had for 2 persons the wine leaves, feta in filodough, mouska and gyros and itnwas way to much. We did get a potato, bread and a very nice dessert from the house. Highly recommended.

Amazing seafood ! BEST mussels ever..

Classical greek fish tavern. Exactly what we were looking for. Not on the mainstream tourist area, it is near a beach and it still has a great view towards the sea. The food was great, and it is not pricy. The shrimp pasta was excellent, so it is highly recommended. If you are looking for sea food you should like this place.

I am a local, born and raised in Agios Nikolaos and since my childhood, I remember going to Faros with my family to eat out on the odd Sunday. Since then, Ive been visiting Faros every time I come back for holiday from abroad, and it has stayed mainly the same; both in style, which is not so good, but also in food quality, which is extremely good.Without mentioning any specific plates, I can guarantee that one eats very well prepared food and of great quality irrespective of the plate. The time has passed, I have my own family now, and I too, bring them on an odd Sunday for some fresh fish. Faros is definitely worth the visit.

Not so good. The service is slow even by Greek standards. The food is not very good. I ordered the gyros which was not traditional gyro meat. Instead, it was a grilled chop that was very fatty/gristly. I also ordered saganaki cheese which came out lukewarm which resulted in a very poor taste. I didnt eat the cheese due to the bad taste. I informed the waiter of the problem with the cheese and it seemed like he was irritated with me about it. They ended up charging me for the cheese which I thought was strange. Overall, not great food and poor service. I would recommend eating elsewhere as there are many better restaurants in the area serving higher quality food with much better service.

This is a must stop place to eat on your trip. The food is beyond fresh and so delicious. The staff was very welcoming! * pro tip ask for the special garlic and cream muscles they are not on the menus but are to die for!

Was recommended by the owner of a small hotel we were staying in as a place where he usually goes to eat. It was too early for a dinner so I’ve tried only baked cheese Saganaki and Tzatziki. Both were simply delicious topped with a good Greek coffee. Would definitely come again.

Really good Greek food.Dishes are a few euros more expensive than usually, but worth it because of many complimentary extras, potatoes from the grill, fruits and very yummy Greek honey cakes.Friendly staff and good view, right on the beach!

Delicious! We ate it all / no leftovers! Service was a bit slow but we weren’t in a hurry. Free fruit and baklava given to us as well. Definitely recommend!

The best meal we’ve had in all of Greece!! I have no idea why this only gets a 4.4 currently on Google reviews. The barbecued grouper was handsdown the best group I’ve ever had, and I’ve had countless. The vege Briam is not to miss. The big potato comes off the grill and taste like butter - so creamy. They use very high-quality local olive oil. Grilled Haloumi. Unfortunately we were only in town three days, we ate there every day. Family owned and run since the 1970s. Their orange pie was absolutely delicious!! Setting wonderful. Thank you Maria and family ...we would stay longer just so we can come dine with you again! we will be back - with love Emily and Howard

Skip the tourist restaurants. This is the real deal. Amazing whole fish cooked over open flame. Outstanding authentic homemade Greek classics. And the best orange pie for dessert, all made in house. Are here multiple times during our stay. Simple my delicious.

Very nice place. Good service and quality. Gyros are huge. Sardines very tasty. Good free dessert with melon, water melon and orange pie.

Wonderful place with sea view and tasty food. You will receive a grilled potato as a welcome:at the end of the dinner raki, fruits and small local sweets. Seafood dishes are very delicious. Highly recommended!

Restaurant with Greek cuisine. The terrace is next to the beach with nice sea view.We had ordered only salad (Faros salad and Greek salad), but the portions were really big for the low prices and very delicious.At the beginning, they served bread and potatoes with butter for free and at the end we got a dessert with delicious fresh fruits.The staff was very friendly. Additionally we had company of sweet cats (they were not intrusive and just were lying down in the terrace area).

The food and hospitality here is outstanding. Delicious food, fresh fish, large portions and family friendly service. One of the best meals we had in Agios Nikolaos.

Pretty nice restorant almost on the beach, they have really good seafood and know how to cook it an a good way on the grill. Weve tryed seafood plate, Greek salad and mullus grilled and fried. Greek salad was very good - they have served it with baked potatoes - quite nice variation of the classic dish. The seafood plate was also a good choice - few different types of fish and whelks for a reasonable price, so weve been able to try all of little bit from all of them. The small mulluses were also not bad - little bit pricey but still very tasty. So in conclusion - nice service and place, tasty dishes and mb just a bit higher rates than expected.

Some of the mussels were closed, hamburger ment for them as two tasteless beefs and rare potato chips. Other night before moussaka was average. I dont know why we went there again. Serving was ok.

Wonderful host!We were given free roasted potatoes and fruits and cakes after our lunch!We went in their after recommendation from a local cretan shopkeeper and we were not disappointed! Home made and freshly cooked! Delicious food!

Fun family style restaurant with tasty and large portions. Super fresh fish and lobster and prawns. Mixed grill plate is HUGE best shared by 2 people. They treat you like family. Great location on beach.

I order the chicken in wine sauce and its was out of this world. Plus the service, the view and the whole ambience make this an excellent place to relax and enjoy
