Farnam House Brewing Company - Brewery in Council Bluffs, United States
The vegan chili was the best chili I have ever had. The bartender was super cute and nice. Definitely recommend.
Super friendly staff. The flavored beers are better than the staples. Strong smell of brewing wart that’s slightly offensive to the nose and stomach. Wouldn’t be first choice but worth venturing on a beer tour.
Great micro-brewery. I recommend getting a flight of 6 different small beers.
My family and I have been enjoying this restaurant and brewery since it opened. The food is delicious, and all of their beers are outstanding. They have a stable of year round beers, as well as seasonals. I would recommend this restaurant and brewery to all of my friends and family!
Great service, food, prices. Highly recommended.
Amazing beer! Had a flight of 6 and could not decide which was my favorite!!! Had the perfect snack food for the kiddos too!
I love this place. Side selection of beers, and food! Great conversations too!
Beer, pretzels, cheese, burgers what more could you ask for? We enjoyed it so much we ate here twice! My husband made the comment several times it was the best burger he has ever had! And we both agree that the pretzels and beer cheese are to die for. They home make a lot of their food and I believe thats what makes this place so over the top! Their beer is just as great, too! We loved Scarletts Rooster so much we took home three crowlers of it.The atmosphere was chill and rather quiet each time, which we loved! Our server was great and did an excellent job checking on us and keeping waters filled. Prices are mid-range/moderate, so youre not spending hundreds for a topnotch meal.I cant recommend this place enough! Eat here!
Came here with my mom to try out the passport card. It wasnt very busy, so we got seated right away. The server was really nice and friendly. I ordered the burger of the month (Chicken patty with basil pesto, mozzarella, roasted tomato and balsamic reductionand my mom got the curry bowl. We both demolished our food. 😁
Excellent service, staff and a very wonderful experience. Servers are courteous and cooks know what they’re doing. I would highly recommend the support to a thriving local business!
FARNAM HOUSE FOR THE WIN!!! and by win I mean the best fish and chips in Omaha. I have been eating fish and chips all over Omaha since I got shut out of Holy Name on the first Friday in Lent. On the last Friday in Lent I came to Farnam House Brewery and this fish didn’t fall off the back of a Sysco truck like the fish and chips in most restaurants in Omaha. Farnam House beats every church, restaurant or food truck purporting to offer fish and chips in this town. I asked for my food to go because I’ve got a puppy in the car and I can’t wait to see what he’s destroyed while I was writing this review.
Great place for local brews. Beer is great and staff were polite, quick and knowledgeable.
Ill be honest in saying that I used to work here, but I loved it the first day I stepped through the door to fill out an application. I enjoyed a chicken salad and a beer. I knew I wanted to work there. The food is amazing and a lot of it is made in house from their ketchup, mayo, beer cheese soup, to confit chicken wings. I know there are many who believe the best burger to be had elsewhere, but I wholeheartedly disagree. Ive had those burgers and then I had a Farnam House Burger. It is still my favorite and its been years since Ive worked there. I havent even started on their beer... Mmmm definitely have to go grab a flight and let your own taste buds decide!
We were in town visiting from Des Moines when we found this gem. For food we had the gyro, the steak sandwich and the patty melt. All delicious! For beer, we had several, all tasty and smooth. As well as the friendly waitress. This is a must stop if you love great beer delicious food and friendly service. Highly recommend!!
Farnam Brewery in Omaha offered such a wide variety of beer! Im pretty sure they had 14 different beers to be exact! Hospitality was top notch and the bartender was very knowledgeable and helpful about the beers they offered. He actually ran out of a beer we wanted to get a crowler of so he informed us that there was a beer very similar and of similar taste that he let us take home. We ended up going to 4 breweries in Omaha and this one was by far my favorite place! Definitely going to be back with friends and family!
The beer is great and the food is better! I had their Reuben and their red ale and they were the perfect pairing. Our server made great suggestions as well! This is our second time here but not our last!
The pretzels and cheese are amazing! Good atmosphere, the server was amazing and the food was delicious! Definitely recommend. Everything was made in house! Love it!
Food and beer was delicious! Although our order wasnt quite right, staff was courteous and corrected it appropriately, would eat here again!
Its been a couple years since my only trip to Farnam. Most / or even all beer had a Belgian style taste. Unfortunately that is not my taste.Did not try the food which from reviews Ive read its good.I plan to try this brewery again.
Beer choices were good and brew was tasty. Food left something to be desired. Pretzel app was $6 and had 1 four inch pretzel - should of had 3. Patty melt was OK, but the bread was not toasted enough and was a little soggy. The big problem was the Italian sub - it was laughable. It was 8 inches and I get more meat and cheese on a 6” cold cut combo from Subway. They should be embarrassed to have this on the menu. The fries are very good though- home made and fried perfect. Just disappointed as I had high hopes for this place.
Just had the Valentines dinner. Oh my. We love to eat hear because they have great food but this was a bonus. This dinner was fantastic! The beer and food pairing was spot on and the portions were... we’re taking boxes home. Party in the mouth!
Pleasantly surprised with this place. By far one of the most visually appealing brewery I’ve seen. Wood permeates the place, from the gorgeously veneered bar to the tables and chairs, this place Bess a sight to behold. The special beer on tap was an apple brandy barrel aged ale - with several other choices to keep you in their chairs. Service was good, the quality is solid, and I’m glad this was first stop in Omaha.
We were staying in the area at an Air B&B and decided to order in. My daughter placed the order over the phone and another member of our party drove to get what we had ordered. When he got back we found that one of the orders was not in the bags, the Grilled Cheese Sandwich, but I was charged for it. So back he went, 5 miles in Omaha traffic, to get the rest of our order. When he and my daughter arrived they were greeted by a very poor customer service staff, especially the bar tender. He was very rude and they acted like they did not even care and my daughter had to wait a long time for the rest of our order. I will NEVER order from here again and will not recommend your place of business to anyone else. For the owners/manager, you need to talk to your night staff about how to treat paying customers. Especially when the mistake was theirs. (Sunday evening, Dec. 1st)
Sat at the bar. Nice selection of beer but no help from the bartenders. It seemed to my wife and I like we were more of a nuisance to them. First impression was that if these guys are experts in beer, they better be prepared to share their knowledge and passion with their customers. We would have stayed for food but the vibe was all wrong.
Excellent beer, service and food. The beers were full of flavor and well balanced. The burger was very tasty and had all the layers of flavors I was looking for. Their house made ketchup was very good.Currently there is construction near the establishment which limits parking in front. There seems to be parking behind the building.
Best craft beer in Omaha! These owners are very plugged in to the brewing scene, and their beer is the proof. The food menu is well-thought, with a few excellent vegan options. During the week, lots of opportunities for a relaxing drink with a meal. Situated between Blackstone and Midtown Omaha, its the perfect place to meet up with friends.
I love that I popped in during their all day Pride celebration! The unique menus for the occasion were great and the food all around us looked delicious. The beers I tried weren’t particularly special or great but the atmosphere, staff, and everyone sitting around were very happy to be there. It was a fun occasion and I’m glad I popped in for a pint. Wish I’d tried the rainbow cake!
You need to give this place a try. I really enjoy their burgers and beer. I think theyre fries are great, too, and they have great specials. One time, we mentioned to our bartender that they must have a cool set-up to brew beer, and the next thing we know, were getting a tour. I wouldnt expect that they could do this during busy times, but its a real cool local spot, and I enjoy drinking their beers and eating their burgers. P.S. If youre a little disappointed with the famous local burgers (I wasthis might be worth a trip to see what you think-I preferred this over the famous burger joint that rhymes with ellas-you might think Im crazy, but whatever, I think Im cool.
Me and 3 co-workers went there for lunch. We were the only ones there. Took 35 minutes to get a cheeseburger! This was 5 minutes past my lunch hour. The real kicker is that the cheeseburger and fries cost me 13 dollars. Not to mention the fact that the cheeseburger was burnt. I will never eat there again, nor will I ever recommend this establishment to anyone.
Solid beer, but also fantastic beer. If you want local craft beer and a meal, you cant do better than Farnam House. They run a scratch kitchen with some wonderful offerings.Their burger is the best Ive had in Omaha. Their fries are the best Ive had in Omaha. The Mac and Cheese is very good.
My visit was great. It was a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The bartender was quick to come out and greet our party after we sat down since the server was busy with other guests. Our Groupon was easy to redeem and went smooth.I stopped in to redeem my groupon and grab a small bite to eat.Had the Zomer Wit and Papio Kriek to drink. They were excellent.I had the Beer cheese soup and House spent grain pretzel. The food was great.A good experience that will for sure have me going back again.
After waiting 45 minutes to be seated I was informed that they were "out" of 3 different entrees I tried to order off their very limited menu. I settled on a sandwich, which tool another half hour to receive. After taking our order ther waitress disappeared and didnt bother checking on us until she brought us the bill. The restroom was disgusting. It looked like it was rarely checked or cleaned.
Updated review:Ive upped this to 5 stars. I feel generally they are a very solid place and I was looking forward to my return. Service was very friendly on the subsequent visit. We did the pulled pork sandwich, the burger and the pretzel.Their fries are very good and the portions are generous. I couldnt eat it all but I packed it up for later. Ive found some places I havent wanted to, but I definitely was looking forward to the leftovers.I personally would skip the pretzel because I felt their other food was better. Its not bad of youre in the mood for that, but I wasnt that day.Parking can be problematic, but there was metered parking across the street. There was a limit of an hour though.Children get crayons and a coloring Page.OriginalWe went for cheese everything in the menu when we went. They had a lot of good options. The grilled cheese was fantastic. The beer Mac was more complex in flavor which made it much more enjoyable. They fell a bit flat with the beer cheddar soup though. It was just overly salty. If they had bread to sop it up with to balance the saltines I think it would have been better. It was also the one item that wasnt piping hot and instead, served lukewarm.Perogies were good, though not my favorite.
Was there for a birthday party and was informed by our server that another large party had just put their order in so ours would probably take awhile. No big deal. We didnt see our server again until about 45 minutes later when the food started coming. Two people at our table had ordered the curry bowl, and all the food was delivered except those two dishes. The server said they would just be another minute, and apologized for the wait. About 15 minutes later he finally brings them out. When asked what happened, he said the chefs didnt start boiling the potatoes for the curry until the rest of the order was ready. The server was super nice and even though it wasnt his fault at all, if he had just told us what happened from the start, it could have saved us some frustration. All in all, the food was decent. My Danza sandwich was on the bland side and had more peppers than steak. My husband really enjoyed his burger. The fries were really good. And my friend said she really enjoyed the curry bowl when she finally received it. Id go again and try something different.
Great selection and variety of beer and a tasty food menu. Nice atmosphere and a fun trivia night (Wednesday). Definitely a chill place to grab some drinks and still be able to hang out.
Delicious food and the beer is wonderful. The service can be off and on, but the bartender is fabulous. I recommend it as long as you dont have any fixed time table and dont mind waiting a bit.
My husband and I have been a few times now. The food is always amazing, the beer is delicious and the staff is stupendous. The falafel tacos are killer. I love the homemade ketchup with the amazing fries! Love, love, love this place!
Sorry but I have to give them a 3 star. I got a flight of 6 beers. Beers were good.We went late on Friday before New Years. The kitchen was serving only French fries, pretzels and wings. Cool bar, dining area’s a little boring. Right downtown. Friendly staff. Just disappointed in the food selection.
Nice place if you are a beer lover, the staff is awesome and because it was my first time the waitress let me taste a couple of beers before deciding for myself! They have different kind of beers that are brewed there.. Will definitely go back... Prices are good too
Beer is great, food is tasty, staff and owners are friendly. Prices are fair. The brewers take pride in their beer and it shows in the quality. The kitchen staff does a great job and the chef comes up with some great plates. My favorite food there is the chips and dip (I love that queso with chorizo in it), the chefs board, the wings, and the grilled cheese. Sunday brunch is one of my favorite times to visit. I personally avoid Wednesdays since trivia, but thats just me - I like to chat and it is a little loud for my preference. Oh and a lot of their ingredients are locally sourced, which some people dont care about, but I think it is great.
These guys put in a solid effort with their beers. A few stand above the rest. I liked the sours and the brett beers. Its a small ownership group who are locals and the vibe here is really laid back. The burgers are exceptional, particularly the bison burger
Good selection of beer. Slightly slow service but nothing to horrible. Food was good. Check the menu to make sure you know what to expect. They try to add a twist to traditional bar food.
The place is a bit heavy on the Belgian beers, which is OK if you like that style. Personally, Im not a fan of them and was disappointed that there wasnt a plain old IPA available (my go to style). Not a bad place overall if you like Belgian, sour, and saison.
Like a thick slice of home. Im from Philly and this place hits all the spots. Great food, had a fabulous fish taco. Beer was super on point, sours are especially great. Awesome vibe, good music, kind bartender. Gets my approval.
Several great beers, great atmosphere but the food is the real star here. The food is amazing. Our waitress was fantastic and really made us feel welcome.
Poor Service and Food to Match. Have been there twice now and wont return. Food has always been very poor, with the exception of their pretzel appetizer. Servers seem untrained, and remain so. Just a bad experience both times. Cocktails are acceptable, but not great. There are so many better places in Omaha. Go to one of them.
I had their Cuban sandwich with fries, which was a very good choice. You can tell that everything they make is home made and made fresh everyday. The staff there greeted us right when we came in and our waitress was very kind. Didnt have any of the beer but saw plenty of people who did and they all looked great. Would definitely recommend.
Phenomenal beer. Fantastic food. But the staff is what really makes this brewery. We did the Omaha Brewery Tour with 9 local breweries and this was by far the best. Absolutely would recommend. Will definitely come back every time we are in Omaha. Best beer cheese soup.
The beer here is very good. Its nice to have a local brewery nearby. The IPA is solid as well as the stout. The food is pretty tasty too. I would recommend coming here.
Great food, great beer, friendly service. The house IPA is very solid and the bourbon selection is respectable. I had a Walleye special one night that was absolutely incredible. The chef has talent. Very laid back and a completely different experience from Crescent if youre looking for good and local but not the sports/college/crowded thing. This is a terrific addition to the neighborhood.
