Great place to hang out with friends for yummy food and drinks.
Nice place with good food. High prices for what you get.
The food was really nice, lots of flavor. Drinks took forever to get out but that the only "complaint" i have
Waited to be seated. Then seated in the worse location. And never waited on. I left. Their take out was good. After that attempt to eat there I wont be back.
Had a great lunch with their "Good Morning Burger" and it was fabulous and filling. Service was great. Recommended place for a meal.
The brunch burger really hit the spot; however, the Fare Bloody Mary did not quite hit the same mark. It tasted kinda watery and lacking in much rich flavor beyond spiciness. There was a good selection of accouterments to garnish the drink, though. The coffee was average, and they didnt offer any non-dairy alternatives to milk. The other menu items looked pretty tasty, though!
The avocado crab cakes are excellent. Other seafood items and cocktail menu are great. One of my favorite spots in Fairmount.
First time there they didnt have anything that I would love to drink so I tried this
Had such a great experience at Fare! We came for happy hour and both the food and drinks were awesome. The highlight of our experience was our server Zoe who absolutely made the night perfect!
Lovely spaces indoors and outdoors. Menu with options for vegetarian, vegan & gluten-free diets. Well selected wines. Recommend the beet salad, grilled octopus, and seafood pasta. Efficient service. Relaxed meal in a nice atmosphere. Kudos!
The overall experience was good. However I could not substitute ham in my omelet. But it was good. Luckily I do eat pork or that would have been an issue.
The FOOD WAS AMAZING!!!!!! We had seafood pasta (SUPER TASTY). Salmon, Soft shell crab, Steak. Everything was Delicious. Drinks was on point !!!!! What did it for me was the waiter because sometimes that can make or break the experience. The waiter name was Jake (Awesome service). It was just a good experience overall. I have a salon 3 blocks over so it’s good to know that it’s a good restaurant in walking distance. The vibe was good. It was very comfortable and welcoming.
The service was absolutely horrible. We were one of three tables that sat outside and were waiting 50 minutes for RAW oysters. our waiter never came back to get our main course had to wave him over (which I hate doing but it was extremely necessary.Food was ok but not worth the terrible service. If you’re in the Fairmount area, go elsewhere and save yourself the disappointment
Lovely place to have a glass of wine.
The food itself tasted fine but the prices are outrageous even for happy hour! A flat bread that would only feed a toddler was $10. I could make the same thing myself for pennies. I wont be returning until their prices reflect the portion size they are serving.
Weve been here a few times, each time with a baby in tow and the staff have always been accomodating and friendly. The food is also delicious.
Had a great time at the bar. We ordered the Caesar salad and truffle fries. Amazing taste and super cool bartender. Drinks were excellent also. Def will be back!
The food is very very very good. It is a little on the more expensive side, but I’d say it’s worth it. Everything was fresh and well prepared and I was very impressed. The drinks were good too.
I had the joy of dining at Fare for a NYE dinner with some friends of mine. The inside was decorated for the New Year and it was overall a very cute restaurant. The food was amazing -- we got appetizers, drinks, entrees and finished the night off with dessert. I felt like the place is reasonably priced and the portions are large. Ill be back again.
‘happy hour’ was a wash out of a joke food wise. no class at all and prepared half the order for ‘happy hour’ prices which is outrageous. all ‘happy hour’ i have ever gone to give you the actual portion of foods at the ‘happy hour’ discount prices. please, don’t offer happy hour if it is not true to its name. food was served in paper products which blew my mind and our server was not kind to folk of color at my table…do not plan on going back and will share with my network of people
The chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream is ridiculously good. Great cocktails, too. I had the Butchers Old Fashioned and enjoyed it.
Poor service! Providing a receipt was an inconvenience to our server and we were repeatedly asked if we were in a rush. Our meal took 2.5hrs. Food was okay but for the price a disappointment. Would not be my first choice in Philly. The entire experience was frustrating and disappointing and the response from our server was beyond the level that could be expected at such a restaurant. Go else where save your sanity.
Everyone at my table seemed to really like their food except for those of us who got the fish taco. Was very dry and kind of bland. Service was great and everyone else really enjoyed their food.
Affordable brunch spot with great outdoor seating options! The omelettes were very good and very filling. However one person from our table was given a used coffee mug with lipstick on it, however we just requested a new one and they did not charge for a refill. The bellini is delicious with a very generous portion
Very good brunch! We enjoyed all the dishes. Interesting combination of ingredients that creates a unique and tasteful menu. The owner welcomed us and the staff was very polite and fast on serving. Highly recommended!
Sweet little gem on the corner of of Eastern State Penitentiary. The watermelon salad is not to be missed
Kirra said they make better cheeseburgers than I do! The eggs benedict was really good!
The food was great and the steak was cooked perfect..😊
This place never disappoints!! Highly recommend if you are ever on Fairmount Ave.
The food here is simple, yet delicious. My lady had the brunch burger. I had the eggs Benedict. The Benedict was good. Only complaint is that the eggs were poached hard. Basically making them hard boiled eggs on top of my meal. When I come back (which I willIll remember to request them poached soft. The burger was delicious (I was a little jealous). Had the calamari. Pretty sure it wasnt actually squid though. I know some trade secrets in the industry, so I know when Im eating "real" calamari. Atmosphere was nice. Very "hipster". Not my cup of tea, but I know the locals love it. Service left a little to be desired. I just wish my server was a little more attentive. It shouldnt take 15 minutes to order another round of drinks. He shouldve noticed the empty glasses and my impatient face (which he did as I glared at him for trying to walk past us for a third time). In the end, its a good place to eat. Will definitely return.
I went to Fare for dinner on Saturday night for my first time. While I was excited to try the restaurant, I would not go back. The waitress was MIA for most of the meal. We had to flag her down after 40 without even ordering our main dishes. I understand restaurants are slower during covid but this was much more than normal. For an appetizer, I got the octopus. I normally love octopus but this was really gross. It was incredibly soft/mushy and cold. It didn’t seem fully cooked so I didn’t take more than a few bites. I ordered the mussels for my main. After about 15 minutes, the waitress came back and told me they were out of mussels. She said she’d give me a minute to look at the menu to decide on another dish but then disappeared for almost another 20 minutes before I could reorder. When I got my main dish, they forgot my French fries that came with my chicken skewers so it was just a plate of chicken. The chicken was rubbery and had a lot of fatty areas. To top it all off, when the one employee was clearing the table at the end of the meal, he spilled ketchup on my new jeans.
Great customer service. Olivia was very attentive!! Bus boys were pleasant and polite. Loved COVID safety rules for Bathroom! Felt like we were in Italy or France. Branzini was a little dry.. but well seasoned--not too heavy.
This restaurant was way over-priced for the quality. Our meal came out to well over $70 for something very simple. I got the chicken, and it was dry and overcooked. I got the asparagus and roasted potatoes as sides, and they were not good - very plain tasting and something I could easily have made much better at home. This would have been ok if the food were fairly priced, but I would expect much higher quality out of a $25 entree. The wait staff was also not very attentive, but this could have been because of understaffing. Very disappointed overall.
One of the best Benedict’s I’ve ever had.
First dining experience post pandemic eased restaurant restrictions and it was fantastic. We were seated outdoors immediately (and they were busy). We ordered the Greek salad, calamari, burger and fish tacos and shared family style. We were soaking up the last of the greek salad dressing with our calamari. I definitely recommend Fare and we will definitely return. Im sorry l dont have any pictures. We ate everything so quickly and didnt stop till it was all gone! Next time!
Service was great and the food awesome! Will be visiting again. Cozy outdoor area with heaters.
Excellent meal at Fare. Was there a year and a half ago and had the grilled octopus appetizer which was really tasty. The only reason why its not 5 stars is the main course came out before we were done with our appetizers, which is one of my pet peeves.
They have a lot of outdoor seating both along the sidewalk and on the side of the building. Ive chilled at the bar frequently and enjoyed the place, but last night my friend and I had dinner. Wow! I was quite pleasantly surprised. The food was all much tastier than I anticipated. I ordered the tuna tartare, my friend had the calamari. Both were quite good. Then we both had seafood pasta - I added spinach and asked that they make it spicey. They handled that well and it was just delicious. And the service was great too. We both said this is our new spot!Often I eat out and I find the food good, like sufficient. At Flare, the food was delicious. Not overly seasoned, and yet very flavorful. I recommend.
Nice location with outdoor seating. I was able to reserve a table same day. Food came out fast. Egg Benedict was tasty. However, the breakfast potato side was plain with not much seasoning. Overall, I recommend Fare for a nice brunch.
Very poor service. Went for brunch, got our main dish, but none of our sides. Reminded our waitress about them, she said they’d be right out. Sides didn’t come out until after we finished our entire main dish, at that point we didn’t even want them anymore. Also, had to wait ~10 mins to even get silverware AFTER our food arrived, so the food was cold by the time we even got to eat it. Really confused because there were only 3 other tables there and a few other servers around, it wasn’t like they were super busy, not sure why the service was so bad. Also, the mask our server was wearing didn’t cover her nose, and to be honest, barely even covered her mouth? In general, food really wasn’t anything great for the prices they charge. The Bloody Mary was pretty good though.
While the food was very good (oysters, truffle fries, fare chips), I couldnt help but be disappointed with the service and believe it is not worth the price we paid. We booked a last minute party of 6 at 8:45 due to our original restaurant having to cancel with issues with their kitchen. I understand it is not easy to have a larger party later in the evening, but we were celebrating a birthday, needed a new plan, and a reservation was available on opentable. The experience felt rushed and that the kitchen team was more concerned with finishing their day, rather than working with the server to create a memorable experience. Especially because we were a table who was willing to spend, and during times like these, I think you really dont want to push away a party of 6 who is willing to give you their money on multiple cocktails, appetizers, and entrees. Im not sure if the server was new, or just feeling the pressure of the kitchen to get food out, but there were a couple of odd interactions. Our entrees were dropped quickly on top of our appetizers, and we werent even offered a dessert menu. Keep in mind, I told the server we were celebrating a birthday at the start of the meal. I think its fair to say it is an industry standard to at least ensure dessert menus hit the table or are offered, especially on a birthday. We paid out but due to being frustrated, we asked if we could still order dessert to cap off celebrating our friend. When we asked the server about dessert options, she seemed uncomfortable and almost as if she was helpless because the kitchen was closed (they close it at 10.Due to working in the industry, I understand this challenge, but the server should be trained to set the expectation at the beginning of the meal, discuss pacing options with us, and make sure a dessert offering absolutely happens on a special event. Lastly, the restaurant should not even offer a party of 6 to book at 8:45 if they are just going to rush them out. Makes it seem like you want the money you can make off the large party, but not follow through with the proper experience.
Great beer on tap and fresh seafood dishes a lil hiddengem in Fairmount section of Philadelphia, dont miss the desserts they are scrumptious!!!!!
Overall an average meal with okay quality throughout. Typically, an average meal would be around a 3/5, but due to the exaggerated price, I felt a 2/5 was more accurate. I had hoped for a better experience given the price tag.
Delicious brunch, good location for anyone visiting Eastern State Penitentiary. I particularly enjoyed the bacon garnished Bloody Mary
The food and drinks were very good. The Service was excellent. The side room was roomy and warm. Strongly recommend the Place.
It was so good! Very friendly staff, great drinks (a little heavy handed for my taste but my boyfriend assured me that they were all good drinks and I powered through), delicious food, and a fun, eclectic soundtrack.
Great place! Good service, good food. I would recommend this place.
Great food at a reasonable price, especially for the high quality you get. Variety of choices in terms of type of food, from seafood to Greek food, and vegetarian options available. Highly recommend their happy hour. Service is outstanding as well.
At the of our visit this was rated 4.2 which is pretty close to accurate. Service was pretty good and attentive but food was just ok. Nothing crazy good for a Sunday brunch. The drinks were quite strong and the bloody Mary was below average (I would not recomend). Street side was very nice which made the experience fun.
A friend wanted to take me out for dinner to celebrate my birthday so we came here. I chose this place because of its proximity to another event I was attending later. The reviews seemed “iffy” but the location was convenient for me, so I went with it. I called to see if I needed a reservation for that evening and was told it wasn’t necessary. I arrived around 6pm on a Thursday and the restaurant was completely empty. There were a few people at the bar but we were the only table seated the entire time we were there. This also gave me pause—I considered leaving but I’m glad I stayed. We started with the oysters and truffle fries for appetizers. Both were great choices! The oysters were fresh and served with cocktail sauce and vinegar. The fries were amazing and went perfectly with the chipotle aioli sauce. For dinner we had the lamb chops, shrimp flatbread and Caesar salad. The salad was huge, the flatbread was flavorful. The lamb was over cooked (I ordered it medium and it was mostly brown throughoutbut it was seasoned well. I didn’t care for the sauce that came with it but I enjoyed the beets that I got as a side. For cocktails we tried the industry sour which was horrible and apparently gets sent back frequently, and a bourbon, ginger, maple syrup drink (I forget the name, grandmas cocktail or somethingthat was very tasty
