Fantacity - Karaoke bar in Vancouver, Canada
Nice spacious room to accomodate more friends but pretty pricy.
I always have a great time at Fantacity. They have a massive song collection in a variety of languages. The snack and drink selection is also pretty good, and you can rent tambourines for a little extra fun.Theres a room large enough for 20-25 people and they even have a feature to shorten songs, which is really great when you have a lot of people and songs to get through.Last time we went we had a group of about 15 people. We generally book for 2.5-3.5 hours and time just flies! The private rooms are very clean and the displays are high quality. Theres two mics per room so friends can sing along.Excited to try their new location when it opens.
Dear owner, please hire new staff with better attitude! Current staff has no respect to their clients!
I understand the pairing of Food and Alcohol, but if you require someone to buy food with alcohol please make the food good atleast, charge $12+ for frozen Dr. Oetker pizza is just a rip off
One rude employee we encountered. She came to our room and ask are we leaving if were not gonna order drinks anymore coz theres other people waiting for a room likee whattt… mind u our drink bill was 400 ish which we dont care and we payed for the room till they close so why does it matter if we order more drinks or not LOL she was trying to be slick with us. The only good thing about this place is the bar and the front desk lady but the songs are really old they dont have any new recent songs and the old looking book LOL
They dont have the latest songs. I dont think they updated their song list this year. And its expensive.
Friendly employees, good service. Wide variety of song selections for karaoke including both English and foreign songs. They also have AC which is pleasant for hot days.
Karaoke bar itself is great. One of the staff half kicked us out when we were getting ready to leave though, so that wasnt nice.
Nice spot! Seats and ambiance and catalogue could be more. Could use some more current options for songs. It was reasonable but not outstanding. Fun time tho!
Get some better machines holy it’s 2022 not the 90s
Should add some spanish songs to the karaoke. Really good place to chill.
rooms are quite spacious. missing some classic karaoke songs (before he cheats carrie underwood, some taylor swift). lots of kpop songs. nicer to go during weekdays when it’s not as busy. they don’t allow outside food or drinks
Shouldnt be a food primary. Buying beers with an obligation to buy food is bonkers. The Frys were ok dont bother with the edamame (really bad).On the flip side great fun.
Amazing hosts and fun rooms
They force you to order a food item if you want to take drinks to the private rooms, otherwise drinks can only be had at the bar area. Thats pretty stupid imoDrinks are overpriced too (more expensive than most premium restaurants)
Had a great time with my friends here. Had good song selections
Service is excellent in the bar area, still good when you are in one of the private rooms. Friendly and accommodating staff clean venue and good selection of spirits and beer from the bar.Pretty much what you would/should expect as far as the experience goes in the karaoke rooms. Big selection of popular karaoke tracks but lots of room for improvement there. Poor audio quality, poor quality, outdated and repetitive video background. Karaoke system controls super complicated and an absolute nightmare to operate.
I had a great time. They dont have many Disney songs though
I used to go there every weekend...lol pricy tho
Extremely disappointed with the staff here. I was told a completely different price, when I arrived it was double what I was told. The lady working then proceeded to give me attitude saying it was our fault. My party was late- but we knew we would pay the full hour even if we were late. Unfortunately the price was way different from what I was told a week prior to when I booked.I highly suggest 1- the staff be educated more on pricing - so the customers know what they’re getting themselves in to.2- if you’re going to have someone at the front - have a friendly one. The lady working was either having a horrible day, or a really mean human 🙃
The worst place to sing a song ever!Drinks are overpriced compared to their service.
We had a great time here. Just get there on time, and you will have no issues.
I love karaoke so much and this place offers it. I had so much fun here and I hope I will be able to come back
Karaoke in Vancouver is limited, but nevertheless, its a goto spot for myself and my friends. The staff are awesome and friendly, lots of space and rooms, though weekends its pretty packed so do call in advance to see availability.
They accommodated us well even when we booked 3 separate back to back time slots on the fly. Music list is a bit random, but still a super fun time.
To start singing you have to look through the book like a dictionary for the artist and songs, then input some numbers. The whole process was hideous. The system is in Korean which we dont understand. I havent seen that type of system for over a decade. Most other karaoke system are computerized, you can find and select songs directly from a screen. Then theres no original voice if you need some help. The karaoke music isnt even original instrumental. And their "grey goose" vodka shots wasnt real grey goose. We still had a good time with our friends but wouldnt go back, we just laugh at how bad the whole thing was.
Really fun place to go! They serve food and drinks, the drinks are pricey, but food is good and you can get full bottles. The atmosphere is poor however, not a nice place to walk into, very underwhelming and looks... Cheap and unkept honestly. Not by any means picture worthy, but if you have a good group that just wants to sing, its very fun! They do it old school so you pick from a book that has pretty good selections but not everything, does not score you which is a shame. Service is eh... 5/10 but over all had a good night there with friends
So far the place is nice. But only this lady was very rude. It was almost 2am and we already paid the karaoke room and she suddenly went to our room and told us we got 5 mins left and she saw out friend sleeping, she said wake her up in a yell voice. That is not nice. Our friend is just resting ofcourse she is not going to sleep there , we got our own house. Lol . and she still shouting in a very rude voice. Lady that is not a good customer service. She keep yelling as we live anyway. All employees there are nice and that women is not. Be careful with that lady. Kinda racist.
Youre gonna pass a good time if you go with friends and all that stuff. Its quite expensive, and its only 1 karaoke hour, but it is nice.
Our reservation was at 10 pm. We arrived at 10:10 pm. We paid for 2 hours. They wanted to leave us sharp at 12:00 am. What a bummer.
Had a great time until we realized we were charged extra and given no refund for a miscommunication error on their part!!We had originally booked the room from 10pm until 12am but were having so much fun we decided to stay longer. We were allowed to extend until 1am, or so we thought, because we were asked to leave at 1am. Only to find out later that we had actually paid to have the room until 2:30am. When we asked for a refund they refused, stating that they give no refunds. I understand a no refund policy had we decided to leave early ourselves, however, in this case we had been kicked out by the staff?? Makes no sense.Would love to come back if this were resolved because it really was so much fun! But being overcharged just left a bad taste in our mouths and my group would rather support another place with better business practices. Too bad :(
Had a great time. Went there for Karaoke and ended up staying much longer than anticipated because we were thoroughly enjoying ourselves. Staff were helpful and polite. The service was great too
Other people’s reviews remind me of the old days when we could drink and sing, and have massive gatherings. I don’t know when we can go back to normality and enjoy the same fun time with friends and family over here again, however, we should rather protect ourselves, not partying at any karaoke place nowadays. The staff here actually did a good job, as they try their best to minimize possible hazards while keeping the business safely running. In terms of their equipments, I personally prefer the microphones and speakers—they are clean and clear. It’d be greater if they can keep their song system up to date, and people therefore don’t have to always choose old songs.
Super Fun late night spot in Van! Karaoke is our new found obsession and fantacity serves us well. The song book is recent up to maybe last year but is filled with the classic karaoke songs. You can waste a lot of time going through the lists so dont be too picky!I found the cocktails too sweet but they have an excellent slection of shooters and plenty beer, cider, wine choices.Tip: Land one of those coveted street parking spots around 9pm and enjoy free parking after 10!
Fun place for karaoke. Good classic song selection and fulls bar. Rooms have windows so staff can make sure you dont bring in your own alcohol or food.
A good spot to enjoy drinks and songs !The song list should be edited !It was fun night after a long time.
While the experience was fun (when is karaoke not fun?), service was mediocre. We were running behind, for our 10pm reservation because the hockey game ended just as we left our hotel. They called us at 9:55pm before to inform us that they would be charging us for our booked time regardless of when we show up. While I understand why they have that policy, it rubbed me the wrong way because when our booking was over, at 12am, they basically kicked us out. Drinks are overpriced and while they have a huge catalogue, a fair amount of the songs my group wanted to sing, were not there.
The staff were so nice. We ate before getting there, so didnt waste money on drinks. A lot of song selections. Fun way to end my trip in Vancouver.
Always had a great karaoke experience here. Staff are friendly. One thing though. The food and drink prices are jacked up.
Good selection of songs and drinks. Their food menu is nothing special just finger food. FYI-They make you pre-pay for the room rental. No refunds and no split payments either. So one person has to pay for the whole room rental fee. Overall, had a good time with friends. Close to Burrard sky train which was convenient.
My first time doing a private karaoke... And I hate karaoke in general... But I did quite enjoy being able to choose your own tunes and be in a private room with friends where no one is pressured to get up in front of anyone. The remote for setting up your songs is hella confusing which I didnt like - 75% of the buttons were completely unnecessary. Also very odd choices for the background videos play while youre signing along to the music... We had running herds of Buffalo and Zebras and then random Korean girl bands singing in the background... Just a strange combination... Psychedelic art videos would be a better choice.Cocktails are pricey and small sized... Always too much ice that takes over the entire glass... Thats how they always get ya....
The song selection was odd. Not "bad" per se but songs I expected them to have were missing while other songs (by the same artistsurprised me by being present. The rooms are poorly soundproofed (read as: not soundproofedso any time your group is not actively singing you are forced to listen to other groups singing.
Great bar tenders, but the sound set up is not the best, a lot of feed back because the speakers are right at the screen and often you want to stand by the screen to read it. While you sing, maybe re positioning the speakers would make it better. But still had a great time!
Karaoke bar with private rooms, clean space in a central location. Decent hourly rates for booking the rooms. However, the staff are far from friendly and the drinks are overpriced.
Have been to this place before and it was ok, they recently opened up again after the pandemic. They wont give you mics or anything, just a tablet that you can go search on YouTube with. It was going ok but the staff had a very rude behavior. They kept interrupting the singing to take orders and would not even have the curticy of asking permission to come in or wait for us to finish the song. And it got very annoying when it kept happening over and over (at one point, they interrupted us twice in the middle of a 3 minute song! And the place was empty, we were the only customers there and we werent going anywhere! There was no need to be this hasty and it felt very disrespectful. We went there for a good time and at the end when we got interrupted AGAIN we just left and did not even got a simple genuine apology.Honestly, I dont think I ever want to go back there and I suggest you dont either. The food and the acoustics are great but the rude staff would just kill the whole experience.
A little bit price for the quality of the service, would be great have a song catalog by names no by artist. Better to pay in cash because they dont split the bill. Normally is busy on weekends so youll need to book in advance.
Fantacity was a blast. The management squeezed us in for an hour at the end of a night. THANK YOU : They gave us 2 cordless mikes a book of songs a few cold drinks and in no time we were feeling like rock stars! Each room is sound proof and there was lots of seating. If you feel like singing karaoke with a group of friends I highly recommend Fantacity on Robson Street Vancouver BC
I like Karaoke and have been to a variety of facilities across the world. This one has a great location, but not much else. The staff were not very friendly. Drinks are super expensive. The karaoke technology is very old. You still have to punch in a number from a book. The room themselves are decent. Good size with decent acoustics. If youre out and want to Karaoke downtown, check it out. If youre looking for a better experience and have time, might want to research other facilities in Vancouver.
The rooms are equipped with the usual 2 microphones and karaoke system. The room we had was spacious and clean. It also had funky lights. The karaoke system itself is intuitive enough and the hostess walked us through it. The song selection is alright, but I wouldn’t call it robust. There’s an ATM at this place, which if you’re willing to pay the fees is convenient since they wouldn’t split the bill for our group. Drinks are not included, and if you have any food with you (including doggy bags), they will take and store the food for you at the front.
Nice place. Great karaoke and lots of songs available.
