Unassuming yet comfortable eatery specializing in Persian cuisine, including kebabs & rice dishes.
Food 🍱 was great 👍 but the older waiter that wears a mask 😷 was not. He was very pushy, impatient, and completely unhelpful. Had he been different, a definite 5 star ⭐️ from me.Nevertheless, the rest of the staff made up 🆙 for his incompetent customer service skills.I ordered the lamb 🐑 and Chicken 🐔 kebab with the half and half (salad / riceand it was very tasty 👅. We paid over $75 for two so prepare for higher priced entrees when you come. Will I return??? We’ll see… 😉
Very nice people working there but I was not happy with the food taste.
I did my catering through Famous Kabob and it was a Big success!!! thank you so much🙏🏼
I worked for a number of years at Lavash in San Francisco, and got fully spoiled by their food. The owners are like parents to me and no one will ever cook as well as your parents... Ive tried Persian restaurants all over and I have to say this place is a very decent second place to Lavash... And thats *high* praise from me (and my husband)
Wonderful Experience. People were friendly, Food was was excellent. Would highly recommend.
delicious traditional persian food, all the people that works here in super nice
Horrible experience, asked for seekh kabob they gave me boti kabob I assumed it was a mistake and called back but they said that they sold me seekh kabob and what I wanted was grounded kabob,Horrible customer service & didn’t try to apologize or fix my issue they made stupid excuses,Paid $80 got shity service and bland food
Excellent fresh, flavorful meal. I had the chicken and beef kabob with rice and chopped salad. Also the eggplant appetizer. Cant wait to go back.
My favorite Persian Restaurant in town!Been coming here for more than 25 years. Now with improved and updated menu that has impossible kabob
Delicious food but a little expensive, but the staff are very courteous and attentive!
Hospitality is amazing 😍, food is AWESOME; Great taste and seasoning ON POINT!
The best service nice place food is okAash was cold and test like little old kababs doesn’t look like Persian kabab but test was ok no wawoooo.
Hands down my favorite spot to eat. I crave this every other day. My sister and her boyfriend live close & I request this for dinner every time I come to visit.
Food was great. One of the lights were flickering so it messed with my eyes a bit.
Service is very good. Only a few of the meat dishes were halal when I visited. The Lamb Shish Kebab is good. The Lamb Shank was too sweet for my liking, and it tasted as if the shank was cooked separate from the curry/veggie stew.
Delicious food, great service, vegetarian and vegan options. Sumptuous portions.
Don’t know why this place doesn’t have higher ratingsWe stopped here on our way from Lake Tahoe to the Bay Area and were pleasantly surprised by the great tasting food at this Persian restaurant. There were a few Persian restaurants in the area that had better ratings but we decided to go here simply looking at the pictures of the food which l am glad we gave this place a chance in-spite of the lower ratings.
The customer service is phenomenal. They are so friendly and attentive. The food was great- had the chicken kabob plate, must-o-musir and dolmeh. We will definitely be back!
Very nice place and the waiters are super nice. I loved being there but it is a little bit on the expensive side. The food is very good but the Kobideh is a little on the bland side. Didnt like chicken Kobideh that much though.
Food is well seasoned. I ordered the skewered ground beef kabob (as always).I would rate them 5 stars but they only gave me 1/4 of the flat bread. When one dines in there, they at least will give the greens and flat bread. But for to go order.. no greens and they skimped on the flat bread. The order only came with rice and one lone roasted roma tomatoe. I know everything went up with inflation, but skimping on food is not a way to go. The beef look a lot smaller and skinnier than I am used to. Been going there since 2000 so I can tell the difference.
So delicious, but expensive 🫰
Amazing perisan Food. The Zeresh Polo and Saffron Rice are to die for. I could eat here every day! Namaste
Excellent Food! It worth driving there. Chicken Sultani is great! They make their own bread.
So good. Our go to place for excellent Persian food!!!
Not so great, and I question now all those that recommended this place 🤨 Kabobs are tough to chew, flavorless, reheating was worse, rice had a weird smell, feta cheese was horrible, sabzi khordan was almost yellow, and their waiters were loud (you could hear their kitchen conversations clearly). Wouldn’t come here again for their main food… but the fresh bread they serve with butter was delicious.
The worst Kabob I have ever had in California!!! Its black, has zero juice and has Black pepper in it!!! Seriously! Black pepper in Kabob? Also they serve quarter tomato 🍅 no grilled onion 🧅 dont dine in here if you ate Real Kabob.
The best Persian restaurant Ive ever been to and Ive been to alot of them. Better than Darya in Orange county and better than Chattanooga in Sunnyvale. The Joojeh Khabob and Barg were so tender and the taste was amazing. ALLEN was a great server he went above and beyond to take care of us and he even surprised me for my birthday. Love this place!!
First time here. What a nice place. Very deceiving from the exterior. Old classic professional staff. Family owned. Very personal. Gotta come back soon to try out the rest of the menu. So refreshing to have that old school service and staff. No wonder they have such a following.
I thought Id bring my family here for dinner... a place I used to go to 20 years ago while in college. The food and service has not changed - amazing food and great service. I love the lamb kabob, hummus, and pretty much everything on their menu. Will definitely come back anytime Im in the area.
I have invited my friend to join me for a lunch in Famous Kabob, because he it was his first time in U.S.The reason I met my friend is that the food and service is always the best, educated stuff, respectful, plus food is delicious and healthy for everyone plus the inside decorations are amazing.Good things:Fresh and hot bread with butter 🧈 😊Kabob are delicious and good seasoned.Sabzi Palaw, Kabob Kobodeh was my today order, they were excellent. My friend felt so excited being in such clean and beautiful restaurant in northern Sacramento for the first time .***A kind expensive.
First time coming back since the shut down and I finally was in the area to come back and order and I’m so glad I did. I was greeted right away told them it was going to be to go and they offered me to sit down at the table to look at the menu. While I waited for my food they served me with tea and bread with butter. Completely unexpected hospitality. Caught me off guard surprisingly. I definitely appreciated that while I waited for my food to go. I came home and the food was amazing just as I remembered. Thank you so much 🙏😊
Was slightly uninspired by the lack of seasoning on the food. I expect robust, mouth punching flavor jets attacking my pallet and this time that was not the case. It was quite busy so hoping that is the reason. If Im ever in that area again I may give them another shot.
I am very satisfied with the food here, always delicious and tasty.Only once, I went there for dine in, I really regret! Customer service was terrible. They never take care of us and during food serving they almost threw the dishes to us! This is so sad that they are behaving such rude with an Iranian customer. Unless they know you, then you will be treated as a "normal" guest!
They have the best customer service everyone is so nice like family and the lamb chops were so tender I wanted more and more and more had to take an order to go and their fish is amazing everything there is always satisfying and like I said the customer service is a1
Ive wanted to stop in here for years. In business for at least 30yrs. I was not disappointed. Waiter was kind enough to explain the items on the menu and even to me how things are eaten culturally speaking. Like how they hold the sugar cube on their tongue and drink the tea instead of adding sugar to the hot tea. I felt satisfied and I learned something. The food was excellent. If your looking for great food and an experience all in one this is the place. I will definitely be back to try more items.
Really good food!! order the hummus and the bread with butter I would completely recommend and go back.
It was my first time ordering from here through DoorDash. I normally go to Famous Kebab to dine in with my mom. But Im pleased with how quick the food came and the food itself was delicious. The meat had a taste, rice was properly cooked, and the homemade bread was hot & fresh. It is a bit pricey but its worth it.
Great place, friendly atmosphere good customer service. Food tastes good, although filet mignon kabob was not tender at all, other than that everything was great the soup, salad, bread, rice and lam kabob was super. Dine-in is available. No ketchup for those who love ketchup.
I have ordered these foods(Chicken Soltani, and a rainbow troutthrough door dash and I was putting chicken thigh with a skewer of koobideh, instead they put me chicken breast with koobideh and I give this a zero point. For the fish it was super dry and it was missing ingredients, no salt, rice was not even cooked well. When I called them, the server there kept blaming Valentine’s Day for the bad quality of their food, and also said that she gave us chicken breast instead of chicken thigh because doordash didn’t provide a specification, where it clearly states on my order that I wanted thigh chicken. I have spent 80$ and I barely was able to eat some of it. Never going back, and I don’t recommend anyone to go there.
The best Iranian food in town hands down!If you are looking for top quality grilled meats and are willing to pay those extra few $$ to get it.. then this is the place to go.Their freshly baked bread, yogurt drink, and the eggplant dip are also SUPERB!
Dont waste your time nor your money. We did not like it at all. Plain white rice with some kabob, thats it. You need a lot saliva to digest this food. No sauce, no dip, nothing to help you swallow this food. Go and learn from others.
Tbh I didn’t really enjoy their food, it was ordinary. I did love the home made bread 🥖 it was very exquisite. Their costumer service was not bad but not perfect. There was a white lady in her late 40’s ( workerI truly respect her being a genuine person she got me my phone after I forgot it. That’s why I give this restaurant a 5 star. All due respect to her.
Great and fresh Persian resturant.Nice fresh bread.
First of all, all the staff( server, kitchen etcneed anger management courses for a few months.I got yelled at coz the server got my order wrong. He came angry to me and said “ if you don’t know how to order don’t order, the kitchen staff yelled at me becoz of you”That is what the server told me. Can’t make that up!I saw reviews after I went to spot but reading them I realized all the 5 star reviews are made with people who who have 3,4 reviews( not real people)31$ for soltani , 7$ for one spoon of yogurt . Gordon Ramsey steak house is more reasonable.I would recommend this place to my brother only ( as a prank).
Great place to eat. Tasty and hot food to have lunch or dinner. The food quality & quantity commensurate with the price. The service was superb especially Nahed (khanom).Highly recommended. If you have never tried this fine food establishment YOU are missing a lot.
Delicious food, attentive waiters, great atmosphere! Love it here
Good food, good service! Food come in big portion. I ordered BBQ Salmon and i like it! My husband ordered chicken Kabob(dark meat)he like his too.
When we walked in we were greeted by a very nice guy who took us to our table and when we sat down they immediately started service it was a older woman and she didn’t bring fresh bread nor anything to eat it with. a kind man stepped in and apologized about the service and gave us a salad and also some butter and cottage cheese to eat it with, we waited about 20 minutes for our food and it was very good I suggest getting bone in chicken rather than bone less. overall the food was great the service was ok. note the food here is a bit expensive we got two plates and 2 cokes and the total was $65.00. The plates tend from $15 to $30
Service here was quick and friendly. We were seated immediately, were served our food in a timely manner, and we were never without water refills. The food was also delicious!
I come here approximately once a month, the food is exquisite and delicious the filet Mignon is mouth watering amazing, the chicken kabbob is also pretty good. The food seems very authentic. The employees are very friendly and helpful. They are kind of slow to get refills of water or soda. I love the food here and will plan to come again and again.
