Vineyard & goat farm offering wine & cheese tasting sessions, plus a Mediterranean-style restaurant.
I loved everything about Fairview! Lovely venue and the grounds are so well maintained. The tasting was bliss and all very reasonably priced. Enjoyed our fondue (for 2and steak addition so much! Fabulous little deli too! I left my cellphone on a counter somewhere but who would have thought - they kept it in a safe place for me!! In a way I am not really surprised as the staff are amazing and it does feel like one big happy family. Thank you for a beautiful day!
Recap >> You may say it’s bit commercial even though who’s not nowadays? However, the point is not the really well rounded marketing across their goat cheese farm and deli farm brand image. The point is Fairview has not really-and-intentionally-pushed their wines, in particular The Bloemcool collection speaking of, almost unknown to public it is amongst the top five in the South African wine arena.Story>> Being regular of Fairview products 10+ years now, nevertheless had missed the opportunity to visit the factory a few times. Therefore, when could finally hit the target was exited like at my first prom date thus went for the premium wine tasting right before ravaging their deli shop profiting of the wine club card which offers advantages to loyal clients. When at Fairview in Paarl, “the Farm” is on the real a beautifully set of tasting rooms. restaurant, bistrot, deli shop and lodging. A majestic staged, neat and clean authentically-stylishly-refurbished-to-tell-a-story farm. Everything plays a precise role at Fairview incl. but not limited to the two adorable Italian breed male goats making their show right at the entry. When past this artistically staged presentation and walk in the premises towards the Premium wine tasting room, will feel the Fairview heritage above and beyond the goats story telling. Compelling and exclusive Fairview Premium wine tasting highly recommended and sidereal distant from on-the-buzz-fake-premium-vineyards’ in the Stellenboch & Constantia area. The wine selection, the service, the food pairing, the vibes. The Bloemcool collection includes white and red, a variety of cultivars which will make you spoiled by choice.. Must admit I was never a fan of Shirah & Petit Shirah although after having sipped Fairview wines have changed my mind and took two boxes of their limited edition Broken Barrel 2019 blend of Pinotage and Petit Shirah among the other Fairview boxes I have secured in my rental car.Bear in mind the wine range at Fairview seems limitless, the Vintage is the classic Fairview label you’ll find in almost any liquor shop. If you love Cabernet their Cab Vintage is top quality wine for less than a hundred rand. As well the Chenin and Sauvignon may encounter more palates then you might expect.Debrief>> Love Brand. Just a bit too much touristy. Quarter of a million visitors p/y it’s massive, most of the times tour buses parked at the farm don’t match with the farm authenticity and cuty goats surrounding. Business is business. That’s it!
Great service, excellent wine and cheese! This is a unique experience in the winelands and well worth the visit. The wine pairing with cheese was delicious!
Its a very beautiful place. Mini gardens that you can walk around. There are goats and fish that you can look at, kids normally admire the goats. You can do a nice wine a cheese pairing. Such a great place.
Amazing experience! Go for master wine tasting
I had an amazing experience at Fairview ! I choose the guided mountain walk with Donald, witch started by a coffee & ended by a degustation of wine and cheese.Everything was perfect about it, especially Donald who has been one of the nicest people I’ve met. He really listens to me and to my fitness capacity, and he took time to explain to me everything about the plants, their etymology, the monuments and the mountains we were seeing. It really was an amazing way to discover more about the region and the nature. The path we took was wonderful. Then we ended by the degustation who was truly amazing (and I’m saying this as a French), the selection of wines were really good, they support the locals producers around the farm, and the association with every cheese was perfect. All this experience was made possible by the hospitality of every person in Fairview (especially Donaldand they really took time to answer all of my questions and to make sure I was having a good day.I recommend this experience at 100%, especially if you don’t have a lot of time to visit and if you want to have a really complete experience in a few hours !
We loved this place! There were no goats on the goat tower, but that was the only disappointment. The goats are cute and friendly, but what was awesome was the superb wine and cheese tasting inside!
Beautiful place to visit. The goats are very cute. The food here is fantastic. I ordered the pasta with lamb and it was delicious. The wines are great. Would visit them again.
Excellent. Very nice wine and cheese pairing. Very knowledgeable waitress. Had a nice meal in the restaurant after.Highly recommend.
We enjoyed a lovely wine, cheese and meat pairing. Deriek was friendly and informative. They have some delicious wines.
The longest time Ive ever waited for a beer and one the smallest 300g steaks Ive ever seen. But it was a good meal and great atmosphere.
Such a great experience. Will definitely recommend doing the wine and cheese tasting.
Fairview is one of my all time favorites while im away from home. It is a must on my winery travels to cape town. Doesnt matter how many times Ive been the atmosphere, the friendliness and the food and wine never disappoints. Fairview represents what a wine tasting experience should be in Cape Town! A place I will keep coming back to. Keep up the passion!!!
Always a wonderful experience tasting the wines.Loved the display of all their beautiful products and some wines...We went there just for the Sweet White, but unfortunately they were sold out...Thank you for all your lovely cheeses, glazes and sweets which are always fresh
A gem hidden in the foot of the mountains of Paarl. Their wine tasting takes you on a journey led by the adventurous spirit of Mr Back. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The venue is something you won’t find any where else. Beautiful horseshoe tables set up to easily taste their delicious wine and cheese. A quick trip to buy some wine turned into a lovely afternoon outing!
Beautiful winery, such lovley staff and venue, wine tasting is a must!
What a great time we had at this wine farm.My guest were from France and in true French style that had to have the cheese and wine pairing tasting with a wee bit of flair. They bought a baguette and dried sausage to add this to the experience 😉We spent a couple of hours here spending time with the goats and savoring the ambiance.A must got to place of you love cheese and wine😉
Amazing wine and cheese tasting! Affordable price for the tasting and great selection of different items for sale. We loved it so much we went back. Would definitely recommend to others!
Such a great experience - Wine and cheese pairing. Fairview use grapes that not many others use, making some exceptional wines. Great for shopping for cheese, charcuterie and other cheeseboard ingredients. Brilliant set up
The wine and cheese pairing is delicious and definitely worth a visit!R50 for 6 wines along with 6 cheeses. There are 2 sets of 6 x whines to choose from according to your preference. The deli also offers a wide variety of dairy products, cold meats and baked goods, sweet and salty.Beautiful surrounding area, highly recommended*
We decided to have an Easter Sunday lunch at the Goatshed and as per usual the food was excellent. We had braised lamb shoulder served with roasted pumpkin, feta grain salad and veggies. Topped of with a glass of Fairview Shiraz. As well as sharing an assorted dessert, just because we could 😉. The sorbet was define and we will certainly try it next time. They were very busy and we did book before we went. The wine tasting were full but the shop still had some goodies left to take home.
Classic farm to table tasting experience. Guest book dating back over 80 years
What an awesome wine farm and estate. We tasted some of the best wines in the Western Cape today paired with fresh and tasty goat cheeses. The staff are knowledgeable and knows their wines and facts and really made us feel welcome and at home. What an amazing experience, recommend that you visit them the next time you are in the area and do make time to have a bite at the restaurant which is sooo popular
An excellent place to visit, you can enjoy breakfast from 09H00 - 11H15 and thereafter other delicious tasty food from their menu. A must visit is their cheese tasting area, where you can taste the different goats cheeses. Dont forget to visit their wine tasting room as well. They have an excellent selection of wines. Will come back here for another visit soon.
The winery is well kept and very divergent to the other wine farms as it offers a real home farm like feeling when walking into the winery you will see the very famous goats. The wine is of the best in my books and the cheese, delicious! I have now also tried their olive oil and must admit, it is Fairview standard!Love this farm!Went for a visit now recently again and all my friends and family know this is the only farm I dont skip when coming to Cape Town. They have the most beautiful cheese boards - so wish I could have fit one in my hand luggage! The Goatshed/restaurant is such a treat and an absolute must visit!
Very cozy place with a garden (we found funny with unique shape lemons here). In addition to goats, there are many squirrel 🐿. There is a shop with a large selection of cheeses and other things here. This winery is famous for its Shiraz. I liked Fairview Pinotage most of all.A small minus is that the wine tasting takes place standing. But the cost for a tasting of 7 wines with a plate of cheeses is only 50 rand.
Service was amazing. Amazing cheese and wine pairing. Great vibe and atmosphere. Great prices. I would definitely recommend this place.
Once again we had our annual walk for Daniel and friends fund, thank you to Fairview for including our NGO we were not able to have it for 2 years due to covid. But it was such a success. We appreciate it
Beautiful place with nice wine and cheese! Staff was professional and friendly. Getting some goat cheese and various products at the Deli is a must. Nastergal jam and Canelé are amazing.
So beautiful and they are child friendly. The food is delicious and the wine of course
We are from Jhb but each time we go to the Cape we must stop at Fairview to buy cheeses or taste wine. This time round we met a friend and ate at the restaurant. We found the choice limited and not even some toasted sandwiches on the menu. Disappointed !
We had a most splendid visit to the farm today. Very safe in every way. We had the wine and cheese tasting and it was very good. Children and non drinkers are most welcome to join with juice.Update 8 feb 2022We went for a lunch at the restaurant and some shopping at the cheese store. The food was really good. Quality good. Homemade items on platter good. Atmosphere - loved it! Service of hight quality. Well worth a go 😁
Nice place to have wine test with great cheese! Really enjoyed there !
Loved the cheese and wine tasting!Platters on offer were very generous and delicious.
A very picturesque placeWine tasting and cheese tasting was the hit here.My family and I did the 6 tasting wine option which was R50.Very informativeAnd we enjoyed every minute of it.Theres a shop to buy artisan freshly bakes breads and other items like the cheeses.it was an amazing experience.visit and see for yourself.
Did the standard cheese and wine pairing, was fantastic and great value for money. The kids really enjoyed feeding the goats who were extremely friendly and very cute. Well worth a stop if in the area
i guess there is a lot more to discover than the cheese and wine tasting! the place is beautiful! enough parking, proper, a lot of animals, well prepared garden (why they have spekbooms as a fence - i dont know). we luckily could enjoy the cheese and wine tasting in the master room with a cheminee and stunning atmoshpere. the stuff did a great job, explaining the whole history. we were there with friends and our little one and all of us enjoyed it completly. unfortuntaley the restaurant was quite crowded so we decided to come for the food in the next year :)
Beautiful setting. We did the cheese and wine tasting and loved it. Our taste facilitator was very knowledgeable and we had a great time chatting and discussing the wines and cheese. Tastings are very affordable and nice shop that sells all the wines and cheese goodies at decent prices.
Thoroughly enjoyed the 6 wine and 7 cheese tasting for only R50.00.Beautiful location with an amazing tower with a path for a goat to walk on.Definitely would recommend.
I love going here. They sell amazing flavors of cheese and wine. Im in love with their desert wines. Theyre sweet and easy on the pallet. On top of it all, the different types of cheese here are incredible! They also sell bread and dried meats to go with any jam, cheese or wine you choose to take!I highly recommend them. Theyre a multi award winning wine farm with many esteemed bottles and bottles worth any and all wine connoisseurs collection.
Last time this placed was to busy.... but today it was great. Loved the tasting and the Goatshed is worth another visit. Have the duck liver paté, something different but a winner.
There wasnt a wide selection of dishes from their menu but we ordered a cheese board and it was delicious! Nice wines and beer selection. I gave it a low rating because they no longer accept cash which is unacceptable and discriminatory.
Carmen and I visited this Beautiful and Amazing Estate... Bought Cheeses and admired the Lush Gardens... What a Gem❤️💎❤️
Beautiful place. Goats are very friendly. All their tastings include cheese pairing and very affordable. Please keep it that way. I enjoyed the darling sauvignon blanc the most. Nice shop to buy lots of cheese
Very interesting visit. Wide variety of delicatessen and wine on offer. The goats were a treat! The buildings and gardens are immaculate and the views breathtaking. Well worth a visit. Situated next to Spice route.
Yesterday we visited @fairviewwineandcheese with the kids.Wife and I had the farmers wine and cheese pairing. 6 wines with cheeses and meats. They also add a glass of MCC at the start and dessert wine at the end. All of this for R60 is well with it.Kids had the sparkling juice and cheese pairing. Some really amazing cheeses and wines. Had to stop at the deli and gets some goats cheese, chorizo and of course a few bottles of wine to take home. Its a definite must visit.
Fairview farm is delightful and traditional wine farm set near the Cederburg mountain range. The fam itself is a beautiful place for avid gardeners and green fingers growers who love admiring flowers and fauna. The wine cellar is setup to accommodate wine tasting for larger guests or crowds. With knowledgeable hosts and hostesses, this is an absolute must when visiting the farm.
Fairview Estate was amazing! The Goatshed Restuarant has a super atmosphere. Siviwe our waiter was attentive and very efficient in his service. We ordered a cheese platter and carpaccio, which were delicious, well balanced in colour, texture and flavours. These meals were well complemented by the pinotage we ordered. We purchased a variety of super goat cheeses and various bottled products from the shop on the estate too. A day to remember!
Fairview is a must see if you visit the area. On arrival the goats are quite entertaining - pro-tip; dont touch them as your hand will stink and its a mission to get rid of the smell. The restaurant has some incredible food and portion sizes are more than generous. The shop is well stocked with all sorts of preserves and cheeses and some amazing baked goods to take home.
An excellent and must stop wine tasting venue. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We chose to do the wine tasting and cheese pairing which was fantastic, and very well priced. The staff were very knowledgeable and accommodate us all the our antics making for a very good customer experience. There is a restaurant, which I need to come back for but Im sure it is of as high of a standard as the wine tasting experience. There is plenty of free parking on gravel which unfortunately is not wheelchair friendly but still accessible with some assistance.
