Went for a Spa day and have to say both my wife and I were really impressed. So many different places to relax, so many different saunas spa areas to try. We had a lovely lunch too. Definitely recommend going. Special mention to Millie who did my back massage, she was amazing. Looking forward to going again.
Update 8/11/22: I went here for the spa as an early birthday gift to myself. Everything and everyone were extremely pleasant. The mid-week offer was very satisfying with the light meal interludes and the 10 minute aqua massage. There are options for everyone and plenty of hours to do them in (10am - 5pm). Hopefully I can come back next month and make it a regular thing. We went there for a birthday party. Really nice decor in the conference room we were in, staff were friendly and approachable. The bathroom that happened to be adjacent to conference suite was cold, however the one next to the reception was lovely and warm. I would definitely revisit as guest stay as I liked the seclusion and that isnt too far from my side of the city.
Went for my 70th birthday for afternoon tea.. service was excellent as was the food.. made it a special day
Had booked a weekend stay and dine package for my wife’s birthday. And what can i say everything was perfect from the room the spa and the food. There was also plenty of vegan/vegetarian options and they had upgraded our room from a deluxe to a junior suite because of the occasion and they had left a happy birthday card with some chocolates in room. Honestly I couldn’t have asked for anything extra. All the staff are so polite and helpful so I just like to say a BIG thank you to all for making our stay a special and memorable one. Keep up the great work. Will definitely be returning and would highly recommend.😊
We had our wedding here on the 8th October 2022 and I cannot thank the Fairlawns enough for everything they did for us. If you are looking for a beautiful wedding venue with fabulous food, beautiful decor and amazing staff then look no further than the Fairlawns Hotel and Spa!I must give a special mention to Seddik (Banqueting Managerwho went above and beyond on our day to ensure everything was perfect, nothing was too much trouble, and everything ran so smoothly because of him and his brilliant team.I booked singing waiters as a surprise for the groom and the Fairlawns worked with me in the build-up to the wedding to ensure everything was in place whilst helping me keep it a surprise (huge thanks to Josh and his team).Thank you so much to the Fairlawns for making my dream wedding a reality.
Arrived for a wedding after a long day at work, greeted by Alysha in reception. Fantastic customer service, nothing was too much to ask for. Thank you for making the whole process easy, from arranging room amenities to spa! You were fab and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a great spa or just to relax! If your attending a wedding then 💯 make the most of your day and turn it into a stay, like I have 👌🏻
Its nice, but I wish there was a buffet at lunch not table service like there has been since Covid. The facilities were decent but lots of showers were broken. Nice, but not the same as it was pre Covid.
I threw my sisters gender reveal and baby shower. I just want to express my sincere gratitude to Josh, Elliot, and Sadiq for making this occasion so memorable! On the given day, Sadiq went above and above to see to it that our demands were met. Thank you a lot.
Lovely hotel and spa. Beautiful rooms and great staff. Wonderful place for any kind of function.
Me & my wife got married at Fairlawns exactly one year ago today (October 9th 2021), a date long in the making. So in many respects this review is long overdue.Despite two cancellations of our wedding, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the team Fairlawns remained professional & informative.Communication was always clear and timely. Special thanks go to Joanne for always being there throughout the planning process, and to Josh for managing our special day with a friendly and attentive attitude.I called John (Ownerthe following Monday morning, to express our gratitude & to phrase Joanne, Josh & the team for their professionalism & care throughout the process. We even returned to celebrate our first anniversary. We enjoyed a lovely meal in a wonderful setting. The staff even had a card waiting for us on our table when we arrived. Just exceptional, a really lovely personal touch.I would have no hesitation in recommending the wedding & dining experience at Fairlawns Hotel & Spa to anyone. Truly amongst the very best that the West Midlands has to offer.Already looking forward to our next visit.
Me and my wife went for Sunday lunch today and what a wonderful welcome we had when we entered. We were shown to our table which was really nice table. Hannah was excellent. Meal was lovely.
Really enjoyed our experience at the spa today. Very friendly staff and great service. Thank you!
Great place, friendly helpful people, very nice food. Good function rooms for special events, had a very good time celebrating a family members 80th birthday.
Met with the Events Manager to discuss our forthcoming party. Lovely friendly welcome and completely understood our needs and wishes. Really happy and excited to share our wedding party at this venue
We held our company Christmas party here last year and it was perfect from start to finish. However that being said, since then Ive seen the table i personally decorated for my company in all your Christmas marketing. I have tried to attach the picture of the table before and how it was after i personally decorated with the items i personally brought.
(Will go Again )Stayed here for my Husbands 50th in the Superior Loft Suite lovely room for a special occasion. My husband received a card & chocolate in our room when we arrived...also a birthday dessert at evening meal nice touch thank you.Well worth paying the extra for the stay and dine & spa pass.Food was lovely & staff welcoming & professional.Thank you. 😊
Sadly my experience was mixed one, reception staff(most)were polite, bubbly and that ,apart from beautiful garden, spa area etc were the highlights, what was not,is the over charge for price of room&when I queried it,twice I were just told no this is the priceeven though I had email proof. Then breakfast, was not the best ,were told for cooked breakfast which I were charged 15.oo pounds for, one pieace bacon, one mushroom, one egg yes really all one,the man who stood over the break fast area acted more like a bodyguard, which made it uncomfortable, there was fruit but very small dish with 5cubes of melon. For prices charged for this stunning venue, you would expect better service & breakfast.& Considering over 10 of us stayed.
Me & Ryan got married here on 03/09/2022. The best day of our lives! Every single Fairlawns staff was absolutely amazing, they made the wedding run so smoothly, everything went perfect. The set up, the food, the bedrooms, the drinks. They listen to everything you want and make it happen! We couldnt of got married anywhere else, this place is absolutely amazing. The staff are unreal! Sadik is amazing. I knew my day would be amazing but oh my god I just want to relive it again! Thank you sooo much this perfect day! XX
Everyone was so lovely. I had a back massage and it was so lovely and relaxing. One thing I would improve was the temp of the swimming pool which was quite cold. Apart from that it was lovely!
From the day we arrived we were welcomed with friendly, helpful and professional staff. (Spa reception staff through to the restaurant and hotel staff)The facilities and the food were of a high standard. Worth every penny. Definitely will be coming here again.
Didnt stay overnight as I was there to celebrate a friends wedding and Im local. A lovely day in pleasant surrounding grounds. Perfect setting for photis. Staff were so welcoming & attentive, but without being in your face. Service was everything you hope for and nothing was too much trouble. They even supported with delivering the speeches. Food was just amazing - we had a 4 course sit down meal 😋. Food for the evening was more informal but none the less still tasty and cooked to perfection. There was a great balance of sitting round the tables, sitting by the bar, or sitting outside on the beautifully lit courtyard. Still enough space to dance the night away on the ample sized dancefloor. Thank you to all Fairlawns staff - youve done yourself proud.
Went for a mid week meal, "just because". We had never been before. It is in a little bit of a time warp. I think because it is so well maintained, the owners have taken the view of "If it aint broke dont fix it". So you can see 80s, 90s, 2000s and even recent decor all in one place. Saying that it is charming in its own way. Service is almost perfect (I can see that they are trying for almost silver service levels, but are not quite getting there). The food is beautifully presented and technically proficient, although certain dished were lacking in the correct level of flavours. Im being really picky here I know, but we will definitely be going back.
Just held my 60th birthday party at the hotel. The service provided by the team at the event was excellent and in particular Sadiq, the event manager, was outstanding. All the guests staying over were extremely complementary about the accommodation and service offered . I will definitely be using the hotel for future family gatherings.
We celebrated daughter wedding there this weekend 23/08/22, the hottest day. We arrived Friday with the bridesmaids for a spa day, we had a warm welcome. We used the facilities and we had body massages and a mummy to be pamper for bridesmaid. Just what we needed and it gave us time to stop wedding prep. The food was excellent very good quality. We ate all 3 light beautiful meals supplied. The lady who served us was so lovely and friendly. We used the bridal rooms they were beautiful, well stocked fridges with water, biscuits, three bathrooms, two separate areas 1 for makeup artists and 1 for hairdressers, lots of sockets. Aircon was essential. High quality breakfast and drinks delivered to the room. We had several calls through out the morning to see if hotel could be of assistance. (All of our stuff was moved when we left for the church to our individual rooms, fantasticwhen we were getting into the wedding cars I noticed that management and staff had come outside, I’m old fashioned and thought it was very respectful and such a family touch. On arrival back to fairlawns the quests were quickly greeted with drinks, and nibbles. The staff supported all suppliers, we did nothing at all, and the room was beautiful when we entered. The wedding breakfast was very relaxed and the food was outstanding. It was very well led by the maitre d. The food was excellently served not delivering the vegan or childrens food last minute. The air conditioning hid the high temperature outside. The grounds are romantic and beautiful. The guests told us of areas we just didn’t have times to see, they loved the area with lawn games and wooden seesaw’s. The bar was well manned with lovely happy bar staff. Loved the evening food. Again this was served to you, lots of choice and excellent quality. I only got to see the bridal room and our suite my husband and my self used and both were beautiful, very nicely decorated and well stocked with good quality drink, nibbles and Elemis products. The guests that stayed over had a lovely surprise, the breakfast room had been decorated to the same standard as wedding with the wedding decorations and it looked beautiful. Again fantastic staff and lovely breakfast supplied. (A group of our guest had small children and a breakfast was provided by the staff earlier to accommodate the kids hunger, brilliant touch). My daughter and son in law and our guests had a fantastic day and stay. The staff were outstanding for the whole of our stay. The staff had great pride in their work and the company . Fantastic family run business. Big thank you fairlawns spa and hotel.
Check - in/out was smooth.Staff very attentive & helpful.Well stocked bar with good selection of beer, larger, spirits & cocktails.Good restaurant & breakfast menus.Rooms were large with air conditioning, fridge, iron/board, hairdryer, toiletries. Complimentary tea, coffee, water & biscuits.Location is on the outskirts of Aldridge, nothing within walking distance so a car would be needed, although there is a bus stop close by.I feel that if youre paying to stay in a quality hotel then the use of the pool/ outside garden sun terrace should be included, naturally a charge for additional treatments would be expected. Ive never had to pay additionally to use a swimming pool at a hotel before. (£15 for a 2 hour bookable slot)An enjoyable stay overall.
Stayed here after my reception in a junior loft suite, highly recommended the spa and health club services only downside is the timings, which it stayed open a little later so we could’ve made the most of it.Excellent customer service throughout, from the reception staff to staff in restaurant as well housekeeping.Special mention to Gill for going above and beyond to make our visit extra special and being so helpful.
My Wife and I were married at Fairlawns Hotel and Spa in July 2022.The organisation and communication from Joanne in the buildup was second to none.Fairlawns stored decorations and flowers for us in advance. The bedrooms for our guests were spacious and well presented. The staff were all impeccably dressed and eager to please. The ground are well maintained and clean. The food was fantastic and portions were very generous. We felt thoroughly well looked after and were able to enjoy our special day in a fantastic venue.Thank you Fairlawns
Loved it! I had a fabulous massage from a lady called Fran. She was friendly yet professional. And she was very good at her job. After that we had tea and beautiful, freshly made, cake and sandwiches. It was a perfect Saturday afternoon. 🥰
Fabulous hotel, immaculately clean and superb staff. We attended a wedding and the food was lovely, we didnt get chance to use the spa but would definitely go again for a spa weekend.
The £90 "Spa Day" package is seemed over priced especially that they sell a "chill out pass" for £20 for 3 hours use of the facilities, this meaning that per hour use of the facilities is around £6.66, so for the day being 7 hours, the use of facilities is worth £46.62 which means £43.38 is apparently the value for a 10 minute automatic water bed massage which really isnt anything better than what you get from those massage chairs your put a couple of quid in and a small amount food and snacks..Breakfast was yoghurt that tasted sour and like cheese that was probably left on the side since 6am from the hotel breakfast that was 6-10 and then used for the spa breakfast that started at 10, and a couple of pieces of fruit and a tiny croissant, also dry as it would of also been left on the side already for 4hrs. Lunch was dry chicken, the salmon was okay, and a piece of bread and some potatoes, snacks was a brownie and a muffin Definitely not worth £43.38...worth at least half of that even less. The lady who served the food was stand-offish and seemed like she didnt want to be there. Other spa staff were very welcoming, friendly and professional. The spa facilities were good.We paid for the stay and dine package as well. The room was ok, bathroom was nice, carpet was a bit worn and outdated, but was ok, bed was comfortable. The most disappointing thing was the food, its priced at the same as a really high class restaurant. The service was not good. Our table and both tables next to us had to remind them of something they had ordered. They were incredibly slow and were hiding in the back and not wanting to stay attentive on the floor... none of them seemed to care. We had 3 courses. My steak tartare was served with Hollandaise Sauce and not egg yolk, the same they use for breakfast Eggs Benedict, and the "beef dripping sourdough" was something like or was Naan bread. Chicken wings tasted fine but were very skinny and not much meat. The mains: two steaks with broccoli on the side. One fillet and one sirloin. I could of cooked the sirloin better myself from a cheap steak from tescos. The fillet was cooked medium rare and it came out fine but with the sirloin you could tell they had not let the meat warm up and the meat was still cold in the middle when it was cooked. The steaks were described as dry aged but it really didnt taste so. Sirloin was very tough. The broccoli was beyond char grilled - it was a cremated and we couldnt finish it after trying one. Triple cooked chips were mediocre and honestly just tasted like oven chips. The desert was "chocolate tart, whiskey cremoux, carmac mouse, chary gel, English cherries". To begin with it wasnt served with and cherries, the base was so hard and dry it was really hard to cut into, it was so dry it tasted like eating a weetabix without milk and all the other fancy ingredients described could not be tasted, it was extremely bland. So for the high price, you would be better at getting a cheap food at a Greene King pub.The next day after eating breakfast we both had food poisoning like symptoms – extreme nausea, stomach pain, and feverish. After reporting this we had a really good response from Victoria who provided plenty of details and showed she was serious about the issue, and gave assurance about their standard procedures. Victoria definitely did a great job of listening to our issues and investigating them.I may have been very unlucky with the service and food, especially with the sickness, as the other reviews seem positive. Maybe there were internal issues which caused the reasons for my complaints that I am not aware of. I could also tell most of the staff seemed professional, and even with the staff I had issues with, there could have been issues with them having too much responsibility or something like that.
This is my second review for this hotel, the first was for the restaurant (food amazing), this one is for our wedding. Food was great, as expected, service was great and the surroundings were great. Everything was great!
Spent quite a few evenings and Spa days at the Fairlawns so many great memories. Therefore it was natural for us to chose the Fairlawns to host our wedding. We had a mid week service and reception with a spa day the day prior and everything was amazing. We had the best day and cant thank the Fairlawns enough.
A four star hotel that provides shampoo that is also body wash… that’s something I’d expect at a youth hostel. Surprised by so many positive reviews to be honest. No fridges in the rooms, annoyingly loud glass door for the bathroom that wakes your partner up every time you go to the bathroom. It’s got a fantastic gym though! And the wafer bar left each day was a nice touch.
Had a lovely meal out tonight. 24 of us service was superb, the room was nice, pleasant atmosphere and the food was excellent. Thank you to all the staff front and back of house. You all were very welcoming, polite and friendly
I went to Fairlawns for a solo spa day, as I was looking for a day of peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of life. This spa definitely lived up to this. With a mix of facilities including steam rooms, saunas, swimming pool and jacuzzi, it ticked all of the boxes. Staff were all very friendly and the facilities were kept very clean.I had a hot stone massage and a facial during my visit and I cannot fault the services that I received. A very relaxing day overall.
We ordered food in the restaurant & had the most amazing service from Becky. She was so lovely, honestly cannot recommend her enough. Becky went above & beyond to find the sauce that my hubby asked for and she was just a pleasure to be around. Food was delicious also.
Plenty of parking, beautiful grounds, receptionists were great. Here for a wedding party, buffet food was good staff in the party room were brilliant.Bed small-pillows not good at allRoom set up for 1 not for us as a couple.Breakfast (vegetarianwas just ok,asked for firm egg guess I shouldn’t of it was awful, over cooked and dry sausage looked great wasn’t the best.Again though staff were great and efficient.
Always been a beautiful hotel and Spa. This time I stayed as a wedding guest in the family room which was very spacious and clean. I also viewed family members rooms which were also spectacular. Amazing and helpful staff, beautiful picturesque gardens, tasty food and a wonderful venue and experience.
Just back from a 2 night stay and spa .Lovely room, outstanding food, wonderful spa and beautiful gardens. The icing on the cake the friendly staff, everyone smiling and so pleasant - Thank you Julian in particular for looking after us so well in your bar and restaurant. Worth every penny !!
Absolutely incredible experience. When we arrived, we were upgraded to a Superior Loft Suite (we booked a Classic Roomcompletely free! We were absolutely stunned, and the suite was really beautiful. Very spacious with two floors, a bathtub, shower, lovely bathroom, lounge area, fridge/coffee maker/sink. The room even had Bluetooth speakers in the ceiling! All the staff were delightful. Super friendly, helpful and patient. They made us feel like theyd welcomed us into their own home. The spa facilities were incredible too. You can book to use the pool and hydrotherapy suites (i.e. saunas, steam rooms etc.for 3 hours for £20 each, which we thought was really reasonable. We also booked a full day spa experience which included full spa facility usage from 10.00-17.00, a 10 minute aqua massage (lying on a water bed being massaged by jets), a 50 minute face/neck/back massage, breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea + cakes. We also added on a mud chamber experience for two which was amazing. The facilities are state-of-the-art. Very clean and well-maintained. It did get a little busy at times, but never felt crowded. All in all, such a beautiful, memorable experience. Well definitely be going back AT LEAST once a year!!
My mum and I had a wonderful stay here. The hotel and spa facilities are lovely and the gardens add an extra special touch. The staff were also very friendly. I would definitely return.
Came here for daughters wedding, plus stayed the night. Excellent staff, very comfortable accommodation and fantastic breakfast. Couldnt recommend it highly enough.
Wow ... where do I start, entrance to Fairlawns looked amazing and our excitement for a well deserved break was triggered. Our adrenalin slowly declined, as the gate post was filled with plastic bin bags and other bric a brac. Maybe us being a bit picky! We booked this 2 day break because of the reviews which are obviously (ficticious or the website sifts out poor reviews). The receptionists were very courteous and check in was speedy. Always a plus no matter the distance travelled. The lift was being serviced at the time, so we were offered a concierge service ( no just the kind gentleman on reception). However, for the duration of our stay the lift was out of order. (The Jubilee is not an excuse, I couldve provided Fairlawns with several Out of Hours Elevator Services).Imagine the next day our door entry card then failed to work.We booked a standard room as we have been travelling around vetting potential wedding venues. It soon became apparent our room was at the pinnacle of the hotel. We was grateful in the belief we would delight in the grand views of the grounds. Oh yes please allow me to show you the view from the pinnacle.(Please see pictures... on Trip advisor if deleted on Fairlawns). Our room was so standard, it was akin to a utility storage cupboard. (As my partner quite rightedly pointed out the Ibis Irvine street was better value for under £50, booked so we could change upon arrival in Birmingham for a concert. In its entirety the food was OK. The waiter and waitresses amazing (Jack and Jade, we see you getting so far in the hospitality industry you are so passionate about). The Spa was extremely busy, so we spent most of our time in the steam room. It was almost a game of musical chairs, as everyone was hoping for a seat in one of the suites. They may say its because of the Jubilee, unfortunately not, as its quite reminiscent of other reviews which we have since read on other sites. At best this is most definitely a 3 star hotel. We are a well travelled couple, who have held our positions in employment for over 30 years. Please note, we havent spoke about prices, we expected to pay for 5 stars as we do in the Shard and other 5 star hotels.Unfortunately, Fairlawns does not hit an average 4.The owner may do well to visit Montcalm, NYX London, to name but a few just to take a peek at their standard rooms and level of service.I hope the transparency of our review helps... we are in no way affiliated to the aforementioned Hotels. This should be seen as constructive criticism and nothing else.Fairlawns dont need to redeem themselves, we most definitely wont be returning.Overall extremely dissatisfied.
Had a fantastic day at the spa staff were very accommodating nothing too much trouble. Food was great. Will definitely return excellent facilities.
Great hotel. Friendly staff and they really went above and beyond.Hotel is nice inside and comfortable sitting areas. Car park is also secure with barriers.Rooms are top class and cant be faulted. The Spa facilities, although not included in price of room, are brilliant. Would have expected this to be included fo residents at no extra cost.Would definately stay again.
Had a great time we did a spa day it was amazing, and the food at lunchtime was fab and so was the afternoon cakes. Then we was booked for overnight stay. All the staff was very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The meal on the evening was delicious and so was the Breakfast. The room was amazing everything you need and so modern .would recommend 100 %.Will be back.Thank you. best hotel in Walsall
We had an a amazing time in the spa, and an overnight stay to celebrate our anniversary! It was such a lovely hotel. The staff are so attentive, and accommodating. The food was delicious! And the spa was so relaxing. Highly recommend!!
Me and my boyfriend went to this spa for a relaxing day but it was not relaxing at all.- Main reason I came was to relax in the pool but it was freezing so I couldnt go in. It had a very cold, disappointing jacuzzi attached. ( We were not the only couple that day that noticed the pool was cold.)- Dining area was very squashed in., very close to the strangers sitting next to you.- Food tasted nice but would of been nice to have a warm options.- Too many guest so some of the facilities you had to come back to.- outside jacuzzies were nice but had to walk through the rain to get there. The spa staff were the only positive thing.
We attended a wedding on Good Friday and it was beautiful. The venue is beautiful, the staff are helpful and polite and the food was amazing. As a vegan it can be hit and miss at events like this but I could not fault it. The toilets were so clean and this is an area where venues often fall down. The gardens are also stunning. Its a beautiful location for a wedding and it has a nice balance of being close enough to civilisation that you can get to shops if needed but far enough away that you feel like youre in the countryside in the middle of nowhere. If we were looking to renew our vows, Id definitely consider this hotel. At the very least, I will be back to try out the spa.
After getting a positive feedback from my other half and daughter, the experience was good, the facilities were excellent, and good food! The hotel was beautiful and both have enjoyed their treatments, its a must if you havent been to this hotel and spa before! The only problem was there was no directions in and around the hotel, which can be quite confusing! If they had signs it would be easier for people to navigate! But they would come again! Highly recommended if you wanna treat yourself to a nice relaxing Spa!
