Lovely carvery .defo return
We went here for our anniversary for a meal and the bar staff were very friendly and welcoming and the food was excellent quality and value for money we will definitely come back again
Had a roast dinner on Sunday 25,9,22. We enjoyed it, landlady and staff were great to talk to, will be going again glad to see the Fairfield coming back to life.
Lovely Sunday CarveryGood food, good portions at a very good priceNice interior and very friendly Landlady & staff
Complained to manager who was chef for the day she said she hadnt cooked for 20 years food proved it .most of the food came out burnt, curry was like water, very disappointed as it was childs birthday.
The Fairfield has gone through a tough time over the last few months but its now getting better. I hope people return for food and drinks as it will encourage the new staff. We cant loose any more pubs.
Made a booking for a party of 11, on arrival was told just sit anywhere.Ordered food, fish was size of a tadpole, the curry was far too runny looked more like soup. One of the burger buns was rock hard and totally inedible.only 2 members of the party had something to eat and that was steak and Alex pie. Some waited ages for there poor quality food.wete told twice yours is being plated..,while others were being served before usAfter numerous complaints to chef, who we think was manageress some of us got a small apology and a refund. None of us going there again .
Good food. Its reasonably priced, I for one like that its fairly quiet, the staff are friendly and attentive, its just good simple food. The way I like it...under new management.
Went here earlier today, terrible workers. Kicked me out because i was underage or something, my friend only wanted to buy a coke. Also staff with red hair left work to go and buy some cigarettes from the corner shop in front of this pub, i think this is really unprofessional. Do Better.
Food was lovely and real good value. Nice atmosphere and relaxing
The Fairfield has had a real bad run of luck lately. The negative reviews before Wendy & Mike took over were completely justified. However, four of us have enjoyed a lovely meal today. It is clear they are doing their upmost to put the pub back on the right track. I highly commend their efforts and would strongly recommend you give the Fairfield another chance!
Food is amazing, the new owners are brilliant with the customers, great atmosphere aswell so if you want a great night out in your local area then this is the place to be #supportyourlocal 👌
Under new management, great friendly atmosphere
Great to see this place up and running again well done all
Long waits at the bar even though the ques are small. The food is over priced for what it is, small portions and not great quality. Went a couple of weeks back and they literally had no bar snacks. Its alright if you want a pint but expect to que even if its quiet
Had a meal with my wife here today the food was poor quality and service was rubbish. The beer is not well kept and went flat quickly.I will not be going here again as there are lots of much better pubs in the area.Next time i will save my money and give this pub a miss.
Okay for a pub but have been in a lot better.
Lovely food, lovely, friendly and efficient staff, perfectly clean and a recent refurbishment as well! Thougherly enjoyed my visit, highly recommended
Great family atmosphere lovely bar staff
Great food and really friendly staff, definitely be going again
Went here weds for a drink with my hubby. The carvey smelt soooo good so we had it and it tasted as good as it smelt. Fabulous atmosphere and staff are so friendly( always smilingnothing is too much trouble. Mat the new manager obviously truly cares about this pub, he went round to his cutomers asking if food etc was ok. I will definately be back(every day if i could lol). Keep up the good work mat and staff cus you deserve to do wellJack
I had heard that this pub had been taken over and i only heard good things so thought i would try it and i am so glad i did. Food was amazng and the pub was spotless. Mat the new manager seems a really nice guy, the assistant manager and all the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a lovely time. Sooo friendly. Get yoursef here and try it. I will definatey be back
We love the food here nice friendly local pub, and the chips are amazing as well as the jumbo prawn starter.
It was after 4.00pm when we visited today and the Carvery was more or less finished. Matthew and his staff were very amenable and checked that there was enough food left. There was and it was delicious. Matthew even made some more gravy for us. Watch out Toby Carvery, this food was good. Very friendly and sociable. Will go again.
When we arrived we were told that there was only carvery available and nothing else because the chef had not come into work so we had the carvery and i can honestly say it was really nice and well cooked, the staff are very welcoming and polite and they all had a smile on their faces which is nice to see in a fairly busy pub, me and my wife said we would definately come here again.
The atmosphere was nice. Had a buffet lunch which wasnt bad, but not ordered by us so cant comment more. Looked clean and well kept, even toilets. Most annoying thing was tv placed in all the booths, very distracting. Would be better to have one mega large tv for those who want to watch.
Very disappointed. I was told I could bring my dog with us but when we got there we were told we had to go to the pool room which was inappropriate as it looked very rough and threadbare. I looked on their website before I booked and even phoned to confirm. Nobody said that the bar was the pool room
Good food and nice atmosphere. Recently taken over by new owners. We all enjoyed our food and the battery on my cod was really nice, hobgoblin made it very tasty. We will be back.
Really nice carvery, yummy food and nice atmosphere. Food from normal menu was lovely too, nice crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle chips, pukka!
Great prices for a local, food looks lovely but I didnt eat there butsuch a nice place
People had bulled this place up but cant say we were impressed with it . Meal was average and not everything on it that was stated on.menu . Was told carvery was on till 9 when called earlier in day and turns out they only do it on Wednesday n Sunday and by looks of it there wouldnt be much choice of veg as very small area .Wasnt for us !!
New management have taken over , the brewery have updated the meal menu which looks good once again brewery shortage of selection of beer crisps etc.
The staff are great and friendly, brilliant environment to be in and the food is amazing. Great local pub to be at.
Came here to celebrate my daughters birthday , the staff was very attentive and friendly and all 5 of us enjoyed the food , we really couldnt fault the Fairfield inn
Lovely friendly family any occasion pub. Food is fresh hot and tastes gorgeous. All the drinks are cold and taste great unlike some pubs I could think of. Staff are all friendly helpful and service is quick and correct. As we say in the Black Country,Boston.
Brilliant food. Attentive, friendly and professional staff. Looked after our kids too. Not had food like that in ages at a pub, 5*
After todays visit for a carvery and the poor Turkey ( dry and served in bits Gammon ( served stringy I commented on this and apologies were made. The lady asked if I enjoyed the meal and as it was barely touched I replied it was terrible. Apologies were made yet again. When leaving I asked is this acceptable ? Yes it is was the reply.I gave every opportunity for staff to put things right. As a result this has to be escalated to higher levels.Yours Sincerely.I Had a Very Poor Experience
Went for carvery Sunday 2/8/2021 got there at 1-30pm to find only 2 meat and the kitchen closed at 2pm so we couldnt have desert staff are good but managers are ignorent they only talk to people they know will not go there again
Fantastic as usual, never had a bad meal at the fairfield. I had steak on this visit, was cooked to perfection. Service was top notch, very polite and attentive. Felt safe there aswell with Covid cautions, people wearing masks, enough space between tables etc. Great food and service for a very reasonable price.
Staff should be given training in customer service . Not mentioning any names but a smile and been spoken to in the correct manner does not cost a lot . Was staying for food but when told that kitchen closes at 6 pm to be told that we need to order now when the time is only 5.40 pm I feel is totally out of order.
Great food, not been in since new owner. Menu short due to delivery not arriving. Steak and chips was great, misses had veg lasagne and she enjoyed that. Staff short handed on visit but they did a good joh under circumstances.
Nice decor and staff. Although didnt see her wash her hands after cleaning tables as she went straight in to making pizza. Had to wait an age for desserts to arrive only to find they were still frozen. Handed back and left.
Friendly welcoming staff.. all happy an smiles... lovely clean place with nice decor... food was delicious.. will defo be going again.. keep up the good work
A great local pub ,great range of beers and food is excellent. The new owners are lovely and Ben always professional in everything he does, hes great asset to the establishment .Pizza always fantastic.Altogether a totally better pub since the last owners .Keep up the good work .Thank youRoy and Sue.
Booked table for 12.30. Went up to carvery after my daughters meal was ready so we would all eat together. Only 2 meat choices and small serving. Roast potatoes wasnt ready. So by the time we got back to the table my Daughter had finished hers. Roast potatoes was hard and undercooked. Gravy like water and the service wasnt friendly, she just couldnt be bothered. Wont be going again! This was a fantastic place years ago! What happened?
Nice friendly and welcoming staff. The pub is equipped for everyones needs old and young. Steak was cooked to perfection we go every week maybe twice, as the food is so good.
Not been here for quite some time. The place has been redecorated and looked clean liked the family booths with a TV to entertain the kids. New menu and reasonably priced. When the food came it was hot and tasty may be a few more chips would have been nice. The only down side was a very loud young lady at the table next row ours (may be a little worse for wearbut all in all an enjoyable experience
I found pub very welcoming and excellent value for money
Reasonable price, quiet environment, steak had alot of fat on it.
Been here a few times and had some great meals. But we booked a family meal for 7 and we were told they had run out of Cavery( at 2pm on a Sundaythen the beef was tough and under cooked
