Factoria Vino - Wine bar in San Juan, Puerto Rico
One of the outstanding bars in Old San Juan. Tight dark spaces, loud music and good drinks (…you should try the wine cocktail drinks created by Francomake this a fun bar. After 10 pm on some nights, a 5 piece salsa band plays in the third inner chamber of this OSJ gem. There is no such thing as social distancing here (unless you are attending an event on the second floor event spaceand you may want to bring some ear plugs as you can end up standing near the audio speakers that can play quite loud.
This is the best cocktail bar in the island and we are locals! The best ginger spritzer and the old fashion with the local rum are both awesome.
One of the blurriest nights of my life, hands down the best bar in old san Juan. Amazing drinks and tapas.
The vibe in this place is unmatched! The music in each section marries the environment and ambiance seamlessly. The staff is attentive and amazing to watch mixing drinks. We sat at the bar and had a good view of people coming and going to the other parts of the bar. We had the Buffalo Soldier drink and the Peligroso. Its the one place we found where all the tourists seem to hang out and its easy to understand why
Loved coming here! The drinks were amazing, and it was incredible watching the bartenders mix them with passion and preciseness. Each area has a different vibe, so there’s a space for everyone.Definitely visit, you won’t regret it.
Stopped here for drinks this afternoon and we weren’t disappointed. By far the best cocktails we have had in Puerto Rico. Nothing is too sweet, and all 3 drinks we tried were well-balanced and you could taste every flavor listed in the drink recipe. Can’t wait to come back and try the other hidden bars! An absolute must if you are in old San Juan.Because it is extremely busy and there are only 1-2 bartenders, you may have to wait a bit for drinks. But I promise you they are worth it!
This famed bar delivers on its craft cocktails! Try the lavender mule. It is such a nice relaxing and refreshing mix of ingredients. If you like sour drinks I had the buffalo soldier and it was also an excellent choice. I went early in the day before dinner. We were treated nicely. The bartender Otto was on top of his game. He was pleasant and very much taking care of everyone.
Such a cool place - I can definitely see why it’s so popular! The drinks were amazing and they have a wide selection. The bartenders were super chill and offered some great recommendations! I’d definitely come back and try out a few more options if I’m around again!
Wanted to see what all the hype was about. Not what I expected. Not really a dance floor. Went for salsa and although everyone has a good time here, I thought it would be more of a dance club. Instead it was mostly different rooms with different music and bars in each room. You just kind of danced wherever if you found room which was cool, just not what I expected. I had a really great drink though. Shout out to the bartender in the first bar for making a really tasty Jasmine cocktail. Not really the place to go if you want to dance. Good place to hangout, listen to music and have good cocktails.
Hands down one of the best bars you will ever go to. No pretentiousness, amazing atmosphere and extremely talented staff. Just go already. If you can’t have a good time here, go drink at your hotel
This place was amaaaaazing. Super super friendly bartender, fun vibe, and the cocktails were AMAZING. We also had a few small bites which were tasty as well. You can tell they really care and they definitely showed us a good time!
Great drinks in a grungy-hip atmosphere. Not very big so easily gets crowded. Passed by a few times over the course of the day before finding a time when it was empty enough to get a table, but it was worth the effort.
The drinks were amazing. I had the clarified milk punch and it was just as good as my own. Ive never been to a bar that serves it, so I always make my own. Beautiful color and delicate flavor. I would love your recipe! The pink one is mine. Made with hibiscus tea. Your ice is way prettier than mine. I would have given you 5 stars, however there was a large piece of dog poo by our feet where we were sitting. Kind of off-putting.
One of my favorite in Old San Juan. They have different rooms, one of them sometimes have live salsa music on Sunday and Monday.Great place to come with your friend, SO or by yourself to practice 💃🏻It is busy all of the time, even during the week.Cocktails are good, fast and affordable. I haven’t tried the food but it looked good too!
Had to try as it’s been listed as a top 50 bar in the world and, while in PR, I had to try. Rustic elegant vibe and amazing cocktails! Had Spiced Old Fashioned - now my new favorite. Bartenders are knowledgeable and super friendly. Highly recommend.
Great spot for drinks! They have three and I believe a 4th room. One which plays live salsa Sunday and Monday nights at 10pm. Drinks are top notch 👌. Definitely a spot to stop and have a drink if youre in the area!
If you are into salsa/cha cha dancing, this is the right place to spend the night at! They have a hidden underground bar/dance floor and mix the best mojito ever (sure thing, it is the one of top 50 bars in the world). Last, but not least, there is a live band playing salsa music on Sundays and Mondays :)
I ordered the Champeta and my husband ordered the Peligroso they were so refreshing. The bartenders are wonderful. Stop in you will not be disappointed. The drink menu is n the wall to make ordering easy. Btw they don’t serve food until after 6/7pm.
If you plan to eat here, come during the day. Gets way too busy and almost weird at night. Music was great, people were dancing, its very atmospheric place, good cocktails and OK food , tacos were very dry not good at all, but the buns were better. So for cocktails as a bar Sure its a great choice, food naaah...
HIGHLY recommend this place for evening for drinks! Ask for Nico for fabulous cocktails. Not your cleanest restaurant but the vibe is great! Service is fairly slow (probably due to being understaffed for the large numbersbut the drinks and food make up for the wait. Most seating is by the bar but overall a great place for a drink date or even to go with a group of friends.
You should definitely check it out. Interesting story how it all began. Its seven bars all connected to each other. There is live music in one of them. You can dance salsa or just chill. The drinks were great. I didnt try the food. Good service. Reasonable prices.
Maybe the best cocktails of our entire stay in San Juan! A cool spot in a fun area. The servers/bartenders were cool and the crowd was chill. There was one couple dancing which I love for them.
Wow. Just go. We stumbled upon this place without realizing what a great bar we had found. First we ordered some mojitos and they were some of the best we have ever had. Really nice lime flavor and well balanced. Then we tried a few of their specialty cocktails and even got one to go (because you can do that!!The vibe inside is fun and eclectic and the staff was super friendly. We would highly recommend this place. Don’t be fooled by its unassuming exterior. It is easy to see why this place is winning awards.
We truly enjoyed sipping some cocktails at La Factoria on a quiet midweek afternoon. We were traveling with 2 grade school kids, so a busy evening would not have been the right time for us to come here, but this ended up being a great little break on the interior patio. Kids enjoyed some food from the grill and we were happy with our adult libations!
Popped in here while exploring Old San Juan for the day and we were super impressed by these cocktails. Very cool bar with a fun, chill vibe. We’ll have to come back another time at night!
Had to make a stop in one of the worlds top bar locations. I believe theyve made the top 50 for a few years in a row. They do practice safety guidelines with staff and customers wearing mask. Temperatures are also checked as well. They have a few bars that are located in different rooms and each one has its own identity. The old rustic views just add more charm to this business. I entered at the corner and was taken in to the back that leads into another bar but we kept going to another door across and that lead to another much bigger bar room. My first visit was short and sweet but I will go back and stay a while longer next time. They serve small food items 🌮🍔🍗🥟 for those who like a little something to eat with their drinks. Yet they are better known for their alcohol drinks.🍾🥂🍺🍻🥃🍷🍸🍹For those who like to have a drink, this is a must stop location. Its highly recommended for sure. 👌🏽 Its even better that you can enjoy these known places while on vacation. If you enjoyed my review, please hit like below. Thank you 😊
Excellent service!! Creative and delicious cocktails, comfortable ambiance, top 50 in the world is assuredly deserved.
It is on San Sebastian street. it is one of the most happening places to be at night when you are in San Juna. this whole street is live, buzzing till midnight and sometimes till 2 AM. so if you wanna get the vibe/ feel of nightlife, come to this street (Calle in Spanishhere.so they check your vaccine card at the entrance and you are on your own. means I am used to "some server will come, show us the table" but here, the scene is different. you find the table or chair or seat at the bar- get settled and order the drink. between its always crowded. these are the places - good for a couple of drinks and hop on to another bar.The prices are reasonable. in fact every place/bar in San Juan-beer - $2-3,Mojito - $5-8,Pina colada - $5-8Fun Fact: why this is famous and crowded- Despacito song was shot here.Note: To enter, they are asking for CDC Card (for vaccine check). You can also show a digital copy/Photo of it.
Some of the best cocktails Ive ever had at prices that feel like youre stealing them. The ambiance is a touch mysterious and cool, but the bartenders arent intimidating; they want you to have the best drinks you can get. Well absolutely be back.
Really really awesome space. Merv was excellent and made us fantastic drinks. The other two who were working with him, whose names we regrettably missed, were so amazing. The hospitality was such a treat to experience. Look forward to coming back in the future!
Outstanding. I absolutely loved the Peligroso, and my lovely fiance had one of the best Mojitos shes ever had. Theres also six bars on the premises that are hidden, so absolutely go check them all out.
Amazing placeI had the best ever old fashioned hereAmbient music , friendly staff and well ventilated ( as good precaution against covid)Its made top 50 bars in the world for quite sometime and I think Despacito was shot here
This was one of my favorite places in PR! Staff was very pleasant and attentive! The crafted cocktails were superb! Cool place with a cool vibe!
In on vacation from California, had never been to Puerto Rico before. Stayed in old San Juan and was able to walk here. There’s actually three separate areas/bars, with salsa dancing inside The third room. Fun atmosphere, in the downtown area of the historic district!
Still alive and well in Covidian times. Busy nites will have all rooms open with live salsa, DJs, and different genres of music in each room. Warning, it does get crowded, with superspreader potential. Need to show vac card. Lives up to the hype - drinks are solid, service is great, ambience is cultural - definitely in the top 10% of all bars.
An incredible cocktail bar hidden away in a corner of Old San Juan! Dont let the broken down exterior looks and rather small size of the front room fool you, there is a lot more to this place than what first catches your eye. There are several additional rooms inside, including a separate wine bar and section, and a dance area that hosts salsa nights. The bartenders are great and make good suggestions if youre open to try something new and unique. The lavender mule was so good, I had no choice but to get it over and over again during our visit.
Good vibes. I ordered lavender mule which is the most famous drink here. It was good. I generally do not like lavender so may be you might like it more if you are into lavender drinks. If you are not able to find a sit, they have other rooms as well and there is a very small door which people do not recognize and go back. Ask bartender!
La Factoria had a good atmosphere but it wasn’t quite what we hoped it was. We went early and they only had one room open so it was pretty packed. The drinks were good, but you could tell the bartenders were prepping for it to get crazy busy as they opened more rooms.
If you’re in Old San Juan, you absolutely have to check out this bar - I can easily see why they include it on the list of best bars in the world. We went on a Friday night in October, so it was definitely pretty busy, but we were able to order drinks pretty easily in the second room. The drinks were incredible, the live music was fun, and we even got to try a little bit of salsa dancing. There’s no signage of any kind on the outside of the building, but you’ll know it’s La Factoría by the music. Must see in Puerto Rico!
An atmosphere that will quench your body into an euphoric, pulsating trance. Indulge yourself in the rich appreciation as your mixologist meticulously prepares your drink. Whether by yourself or with friends this is a must when you visit Old San Juan.
Going through the multiple rooms was pretty fun and interesting. Loved the vibe- we went during a slow time so there were just a few people hanging at the bar. The one drink I ordered I didn’t like nor was it very strong, but the atmosphere here is really unique. Would love to come back on a Friday night!
Love this bar! I was on vacation in Puerto Rico and came back to this bar several times. The employees are very friendly and all of the drinks I tried were very good. I’ll definitely be coming back on my next trip to PR.
Definitely lives up to all the hype. Delicious original cocktails impeccably made with fresh ingredients and premier spirits. Do yourself a huge one by getting an El Peligroso, which is a true masterpiece. The Hijos de Borinquen was delicious also. Fair prices, great ambiance and world class mixology, inside an old dilapidated building in Old San Juan. Parking could be challenging but even so, this place is worth it.
Hidden gem in old San Juan. Drinks are amazing! Great price. Vibe is everything. Only downside is kitchen hours do not match the opening hours... and the big deal breaker is the mosquitos! but they light repellent sticks to keep them away (doesnt work too well)
Im from Houston, TX and I came on vacation to Puerto Rico with my brothers and came across this bar...people here are super friendly and they make you feel like if you know them for years. I totally recommend this bar to everyone who wants to enjoy some of the best cocktails in the world along with friendly people and conversations...
Great bar to explore and bartenders make some pretty creative drinks! Great DJ with music to keep you dancing all night long (shut down at midnight due to COVID restrictions)
Best Lavender Mule! The drinks are great. Since this is a bar, the food takes extraordinarily long time. After waiting for about an hour and 3 Mules later we had the Vegan Tacos and Chicken Wings. The food was surprisingly good but the wait was terrible. We also learnt that the song Despacito was filmed here.
This bar is my favorite bar on this planet. It has everything from great cocktails, excellent service, great environment and it lends itself to be home to anyone who sets foot in here. There are multiple bars inside of one and to try and explain what a roller coaster of fun you can find in here, I’m at a loss for words. But please, do yourself a favor and find out for yourself.Come in and become family.
One of the most famous Bars in all of San Juan. I had to see what the fuss was about. I arrived at roughly around 6pm with no wait and was seated promptly. Bartenders take your order at the counter and then bring the drinks to your table. At times, you will be waiting, but overall service was satisfactory given how busy the bar is. The menu is minimalist, with only a handful of drinks to choose from. However, what is lacking in selection makes up for in taste and quality. The drinks are sneaky strong and will creep up on you. The music selection is on point, however may be too loud for some peoples preferences. The vibe was great. Time seems to slow down here as before I knew it it was almost 11pm with a line out the door to get in. TIP: arrive early and beat the crowds! The prices of the drinks really arent bad for the quality. The total for 7 drinks was about 60$. I recommend anybody who likes a great drink with fantastic music and fair prices to come check this iconic bar out.**I included a picture of the front entrance of the bar as there is no clear sign indicating the name of the bar**
We had heard a lot about this place and went there twice during our trip to Puerto Rico. We reached there before they open during our first visit and Gigi was kind enough to show us around the whole bar. I personally loved the vibe of the place and their playlist was groovy from the word go!My wife and I tried all the cocktails between our two visits and had our own personal favorites (I won’t name them! I will recommend try everything! It’s 5 am somewhere!)As a person interested in mixology, I could see that all their drinks were mixed after a thorough process and required skill so a shout out to all their staff for making those cocktails so many times in a day for so many people!Appreciate their efforts.
