Faarumai Waterfall in Papeete
Description
Privilege
Just amazing. We were almost alone. Magical place and very well conserved.
Easily one of the most beautiful waterfalls Ive ever seen. Easy walk, plenty of parking, and a great natural beauty to see.
MoreAmazing place! Worth it visiting
Very nice, all three waterfalls can be reached again. Worth a visit if you can manage a short stopover.
MoreGood view
If you are on Tahiti, you must see this! Beautiful short hike to the waterfall... super easy to find and the walk to the waterfall is out of a movie gorgeous! (Do bring insect repellent, once you get close to the falls, the bugs multiply by 1,000!Do not miss this "beauty in nature" experience, plus very easy to access. Google maps takes you right to it!
MoreNothing exciting. Two adjoining water falls, one has limited access. Local vendors nearby. Good view.
MoreThe waterfall was good but nothing much to spend time...but there are so many mosquitos , so carry some mosquito repellent creams ... And try to cover arahoho blowhole on the way ...
MoreSimply breathtaking, but the history behind it all makes it even cooler. Our trip guide Fabrice was great in elaborating it all to us. Definitely a stop anyone should check out while in Tahiti!
MoreThe Faarumai waterfall is one of three waterfalls in the area, but they were doing construction on the other two waterfalls in 2018 when we came last and again in 2022, so we havent visited the other two waterfalls, just this Faarumai one. The place is well-kept and maintained to look great, sometimes theres local vendors who sell fruit there. There are beautiful spots in the forest and some bamboo too. A cute bridge and stream as well.
MoreThe first waterfall is gorgeous although there are a lot of mosquitoes. You are not supposed to swim in the pool. The second and third waterfall are still closed for construction and nobody seems to know when (if?they will be open again.
MoreStopped by this place and was a bit disappointed that they didnt allow vistors to get under the waterfall. I suspect the waterfall ground bed was too soft/muddy to traverse. So, just ended up taking a few pictures and leaving. Very beautifull maintaned and calming place. Best part was the starfruit trees along the short trail to the waterfall. You can hand pick the fruit for free. They were ripe and delicious!
MoreIf its on your way, worth checking out. No swimming is allowed and there were a fair bit of bugs in March.
MoreVery beautiful. Fruit trees line the path.
Nice place to cool off!
Great place, accessible by car or walk, then you could walk the trail to the waterfalls. Good thing is that you can admire the waterfalls and beautiful nature from the place where you park.
MoreIncredibly easy to reach by car + 300m easy walk. A great swim and nice to sit under massively high waterfall. A must stop in Tahiti.
MoreWe only could get to the first of three waterfalls here but loved it. An incredible fall! The kids loved playing here.
MoreThe first waterfall, Vaimahuta, is stunning and only a few dozen meters from the free parking lot. Access to the two other waterfalls is currently closed for construction, with a sign saying that it will last a total of 10 months.
MoreEasy hike to a lovely waterfall. There are definitely more impressive waterfalls to be seen in Tahiti, but this is arguably the most accessible.
MoreNew path made the walk very easy. So picturesque, but remember, swimming is unsafe here due to frequent rock falls.
MoreTruly a must-do if you are on island. Beautiful.
worth a stop, its a quick walk from the parking lot to see the waterfall. There are supposed to be two others, but we couldnt hike up to them because they were working on the trail, so that was a bummer.
MoreGorgeous!
Loved the peaceful and quiet setting in this beautiful place. The story behind the falls is wonderful.
MoreThis was well worth the stop. A very tall and scenic waterfall with a pool below. The hike is super easy and is 5-10 minutes max, less if youre a fast walker.
MoreEasy walk from parking lot to an absolutely mesmerising waterfall. Great quick stop for a couple, a family, a solo trip - however you want to see it.
MoreI wish we could swim in the falls, but we did see a lot of rocks fall, so I understand why you can’t. It’s worth the short walk from the parking lot to see this waterfall. I wish the path was open to the others. But be prepared for lots of mosquitos here!
MoreShort walk to one of the most beautiful waterfalls! Posted: no swimming, fyi.
Beautiful water fall. It is huge. Parking was free. Short walk to waterfall. There was a lots of insect flying around.
MoreThis place is amazing!! If theres a tour bus, it can get a bit crowded, but wait 10 mins and it will be gone. Great for pictures and drone footage.
MoreAwesome. Free and easy to park. You can see all 3 waterfalls from your car as you approach (if you look carefully). Then it is a super easy 3 minute walk to the first waterfall and it is spectacular. Totally worth stopping in here. We spent about 20 minutes here.
MoreThis place is stunning. The main waterfall is amazing, you can see far up to the top. A beautiful perspective. It is an easy walk from the carpark. Insect repellent is a must, there are a lot of mosquitoes around the place.
MoreAmazing view and scenery going more inland on the island of Tahiti. Great open space with a nice waterfall.
MoreThe Polynesian story around the waterfall is sweet and the waterfall look good, but signs tell not to take a bath/swim there due to potential falling rocks. Only one waterfall can be visited. Better to visit after it rained a lot.
MoreNice to stop by if you drive past here. Easy to reach from the main road.
There is three waterfall here . The first one is the most easy access not need to hike. I only manage to go to the first time cos there is too much mosquitoes. When I alight the car all the mosquitoes surrounding me .
MoreLove that place. Very clean and easy to come. You can see before to come the fallingwater. Theres a path well signposted you to follow
MoreBeautiful waterfall. Easy trail and good parking. Worth the visit if you are driving around the island. Best part is probably just the scenery along the drive to get there
MoreThis waterfall is about a 5 min walk from the car park. Beautiful lookout if an incredibly massive waterfall good sold walking track up there
MoreThe trek to the waterfall, les 3 cascades was just as refreshing and amazing as the waterfall itself. There are actually three waterfalls, one of which flows heavier than the other two.
MoreBeautiful! While the drive to the car park was a little sketchy with a couple of pitbulls fighting outside one of the houses, furtively once up at the falls outy was a much calmer place! A stunning waterfall cascades down the rockface like something out of Avatar. There are some nicely placed boulders that you can sit on to watch the falls and chill out. There are three paths you can take based on the amount of time you have. Well worth taking the time to check out this beautiful spot.
MoreBeautiful uncrowded waterfall in a wonderful rain forest. If you are in Papeete, its a must do stop. There are some food options onsite (mostly coconut and other local fruits). Hike is very short (2 minutes after crossing the bridgeand its super easy to find. Time to spend there: around 10 minutes.Only 4 stars out of 5 because the trail to the other waterfalls is damaged and hasnt been repaired for a while.
MoreGo see itIt’s a quick but impacting view of a beautiful waterfall.
The first waterfall is the biggest and most impressive. It is beautiful! There are several mosquitos around the waterfall so definitely wear bug spray - definitely worth the visit. The first waterfall is just up a short path and the whole area is beautiful. There is a cute bridge over a stream and there are many good places for photos.
MoreIt was beautiful and very calm, because it was closed, but who care ;-I have been there end of january after heavy storm and rain...
MoreOur favorite natural attraction in Tahiti
Took a scooter to ride the island and stopped here. A perfect place for a picnic. The signs say dont go swiming. But I highly doubt they will toss you into the clink for wading into the balmy water. However the place is rocky so you would need under water shoes to try it. Wonderful little place to stop!
More3 beautiful waterfalls after 2 and 10 mins walks.. The trail is currently closed due to a heavy rainfall in Jan 2017 that destroyed parts of the well prepared way. Flying bugs can be annoying, they even follow you in swarms. Enjoy star fruits right from the tree.
MoreOne of the famous and must visit place in Tahiti, Is all nature waterfall park, a bit jungle, the trail are nice and easy to walk, good place to take family, kids and friends.
