FONDUE HOUSE LUZERN - Fondue restaurant in Luzern, Switzerland
FONDUE HOUSE LUZERN in Luzern
Description
Privilege
Had a reservation. We were seated, then waiting for 20 minutes with no one even approaching us on a drink, menu questions, nothing. Service is terrible. Not going to do business with someone that can’t make an effort. We left.
MoreBig menu, lots of different variations of fondue and raclette. Everything was excellent!Amazing view from the balcony, really friendly staff. Its a little bit sad that the restaurant was completely empty but summer is not a fondue season :)Gerne wieder!
MoreWe really enjoyed this place. We got 2 different cheese fondues and both of them were awesome! We also got a chocolate fondue. There are so many different things they give you to dip in the cheese and the chocolate. If you are in the city of Lucerne, I really recommend giving this place a try.
MoreThe best fondue ever!!!
Lot of offer
Most enjoyable Fondue I have had in days
Best fondue in Luzern
Just lovely. Great staff who had a lovely sense of humour
Avoid this place at all cost, it will ruin your knowledge for cheese fondue. They have no clue how to make proper cheese fondue and staff is not helpful at all
MoreExcellent food but expensive.
unfriendly staff on the first floor But the waiter upstairs is kind. There is a lot of food, but even a 2-year-old baby has to pay by the head. No cash discount.
MoreService very nice, the price a bit high, but in the heart of the old town of Luzern its already expected.Food quality also superb
MoreThe cheese fondue was not so great. It came with boiled potatoes and bread. The amounts were good but the prices were high and the food was average. The place was deserted when we came. The staff was helpful, but not worth the money.
MoreWe picked this place due to being close to our hotel. We ordered the deluxe cheese fondue. It came with a basket of bread pieces and a lot of small boiled potatoes. We also ordered a side of steamed vegetables. The fondue was good, but not great - very rich. We could have done without the potatoes. Service was above average, but there was only 1 other table occupied while we were there. We would probably not go back to this restaurant since there appeared to be a lot of other fondue places in Lucerne.
MorePricey, but worth it. Would definitely visit again when in Lucerne.
Very accommodating. Chocolate good. Fruit wonderful and they refilled well.
Oh yes... Yummy
The meat fondue and wine was really good. Lots of food was included. Yes it was expensive but its Switzerland, what do you expect? You can always look at the menu and prices beforehand and then choose not to eat here. But the food was really good.
MoreGreat experience! A little on the pricey side but its absolutely worth it. Food was great and the portions left you full.
MoreWe are on a 30 day trip all over Europe. We spent 2 nights in Lucerne and of course the tradition is to eat Swiss Fondue. The staff is extremely rude to the customers. Our waiter would snatch the menu from our hands, make smart remarks regarding how we eat the fondue, take your fork from your hand and "demonstrate" how to eat the fondue and then throw it on your plate. When I took a picture of the food, the waiter would look at us and shake his head and say "you need to not play with your phone and eat".The fondue itself is expensive, which is typical in Switzerland. However, the fondue was bland and tasteless. The salad and dessert that come with a meal is mediocre at best. I would not waste time coming to this establishment.Side note: We did have a dinner party of around 18 people on Fat Tuesday, so the customer service may have suffered because of this. There also was just 1 waiter for 2 very large groups.
MoreBeautiful
Such a great place with great service. We ordered fondue and have it for the first time. The waitress was very kind. She explained how to pick a fondue and the difference between them. The best part is the view! We had a back ground of old town plus Kappelbruke!Next time I go to Luzern I will be back with this spot.
MoreIts expensive but its good experience to eat cheese fondue. Not bad to try it and their chilli oil sooo good..
MoreMy husband and I enjoyed this restaurant with a group of friends. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was wonderful and the feel of the restaurant was very cozy and inviting. The view was beautiful and the experience is one we will not soon forget.
MoreGreat fondue. Limited seating. Friendly staff
Absolute shambles of a restaurant
Too expensive. The dips for the meet were not intersting.
Too expensive for just salad bread and potato with cheese
Came at 8:59 while stating closed at 10pm and would not serve. Take your money elsewhere where they actually want to serve!!!
MoreWorst place, out of the world pricing, not value for money, street food is better. Please do not go here
MoreI went to try fondue for my first time. The cheese was burnt within minutes! We also ordered meat that we had to cook ourselves. So there’s a boiling bowl of oil on our table that’s splashing at us. We told the waitress We got burned a few times and her response was “oh”. we ended up eating jusy potatoes and bread. Leaving with burn marks. Food sucks. Service sucks. Over priced
MoreGood one to try fondue..
This food is so expensive:(
Actually closes a 9 and not ten. They were incredibly rude when we turned up at 9:15 despite this stating they are open until 10pm. Its also part of a hostel. Definitely wont be returning here.
MoreLovely raclette
ok ok!Hotel is in centre of lucern. It is cosy and filled of cheesy smell. They have variety of fondues. boiled potatoes and bread are included. Rest all dips are needed to be separately purchased and they are costly. Chef is friendly.
MoreAs a tourist fondue was good. It does worth to try it. Fondue is pricey everywhere like here. If you are a couple, order one and share it. Its a very heavy meal to digest it. Atmosphere is Ok. They just dont serve tap water which is a bit odd.
MoreI hate Switzerland. It is over priced and the police steal from you with on the spot fines. I was there 40 hours and racked up a 300 euros in fines. The only good thing was this cool locals restaurant. Prices were 1/3 of all other spots and the atmosphere and service we great. PS dont go to Switzerland go to Austria same mountains better people and half the price.
MoreA little bit expensive but the fondue was delicious. But it take so long for them to serve our food
MoreGreat location, great atmosphere and great Fondue!
Well its fine
This is my 3rd trip the blockage is worth the visit . thank you fondue house luzerne thank you .
MoreThis is not fondue, very bad food and bad service.
The cheese fondue was for tourists!as swiss people i would never eat again there!the taste of the fondue was bad!wrong chees for an original swiss cheese fondue.
MoreVery good fondue.... you can choose different flavours... we tried the herbs and the rell variaton....Good servoce.... we were on a saturday night and did a reservation...luckly for us as it was really busy....
MoreGood tasting cheese fondue.
The raclette was pretty good, not as amazing as Id hoped. I was intrigued by the way that it was served though.
Moreverygood! traditional fondue excellent! little bit expensive
We were recommended this Restaurant by out hotel receptionist. The prices are absolutely ridiculous. The restaurant had no atmosphere at all and the wait staff were quite dull. We received a good amount of food but for the price it still didnt seem worth it. $360 Australian for 5 people.
MoreBe careful when ordering food because the combination fondue costs 68-66 Swiss Franks PER PERSON. The cheese fondue is massive and there is only a little bit of meat served with the meat fondue, and one can only choose between chicken and beef. The vegetable selection is poor and consisted of a few pieces of broccoli and cauliflower along with a massive quantities of carrots. The chocolate fondue was good, being melted down Toblerone, but the fruit was poor, which is understandable for a restaurant in the Alps. The wait staff was very incompetent, leaving us to do much of the work. Overall, we thought that the food was not worth the 130 SFR we paid. Make sure to pay in SFR because it costs much more to pay in Euros.
