Contemporary American restaurant turning out steaks, burgers, seafood & cocktails.
Parents-in-Law always take Hubby and I here, so it’s special to me. Hubby and Parents-in-Law ordered salmon with a bourbon sauce that they love, love. I get the tilapia with dirty rice and really enjoy it.My only complaint is there is too much salad dressing on every one of their salads. I learned after the first time to ask for dressing on the side. This time I forgot and so I didn’t eat but a few bites. Now, it’s my fault for not sending it back, so can’t blame them. In addition, I often think there is too much dressings on salads in restaurants. Might just be me.
We had Melinda and she took SUCH a good care of us! Kept checking, making sure we had water, cleared our table, was super nice & fun! Will definitely go back and request to sit in her area!
We came for dinner and had Melinda as our server. She was amazing. Everything was on time and she was so friendly! Definitely will come back and ask for her as our server. Every time we’ve gone has been great but she went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. 10/10 experience!
Usually great but there must be some noob chefs in the kitchen. Ordered a rare steak and it was room temperature in the center. Internal temperature of a rare steak should be 120 degrees f. Use a meat thermometer, youll get it right every time.
When I was sat down by the host I asked about gluten free items and said that the server would be more than happy to accommodate to my gluten allergy. I was super excited because it is so hard to eat out as someone with a gluten allergy. Server came out and was not very knowledgeable on gluten free items on the menu. She recommended the salmon since it said it was just seasonings and your choice of sides, however, it came out on a bed of cous cous which of course is not gluten free (cous cous was not labeled on the menuand then the server joked “that’s my bad I totally forgot to let the kitchen know” but then didn’t offer to get me a serving that hadn’t touched the cous cous so I tried my best to eat around it. Like ma’am I have an allergy and will get sick so I didn’t feel like my gluten free needs were met. I’ve eaten here before with no issues with the steak but wanted to eat something else. Just triple check with your server and ask them to let the kitchen know. My server did not do so. I would eat here again because the food is normally great, I will just have to stress a ridiculous amount about my allergy next time that way it will be taken seriously.
Went for an early dinner. Arrived at 3:30 and was seated promptly. Service was good and so was the food. I ordered the Fd s trio, My wife had the Alaskan cod.
I really enjoyed My visit. Fastly seated, nice and clean restaurant and of course great service by Jana Jenkins
Woah! My Girlfriend and I came for dinner Sunday evening and were blown out of the water! The atmosphere was wonderful and the food was amazing! The price to portion and quality ratio was mind blowing as we both got full and had dessert for under $50 thats with 2 appetizers, two salads, two entrees and 1 dessert that we shared! Thank you for the excellent food, excellent wait staff and everything! We will be back next time we come to town!3 years Later and the food is still exceptional!! The ribs are still fall off the bone tender to where you can barely touch them with a fork and the meat falls/jumps off the bone! And the deviled eggs are great!!! Thank you for the continued excellence, expectational flavors, and stellar prices!!!
I ordered take out here on a Thursday night last week and they made me wait an hour after I got there when the order should have already been done. The hosts went to the kitchen several times to check on it but said they were still working on it. The kitchen seemed very busy and I heard other customers complaining about waiting 30+ minutes for their meals. I later found out that the order had never even gone through and they were rushing the kitchen workers to make it right away.
Rachel was awesome at the bar! She is well worth stopping by to see.
My family & I visited for the first time today & we loved it! The food was great and our waiter Austin was super attentive. Def will be back!
Now yes this place has delivery and take out from what I saw and this is really fine cuisine and dining and I must say the server Luke did one heck of a excellent good job my family and I were happy about how good of a job he did especially when my grandma was about to pass out from low blood sugar or blood pressure shes a bad diabetic and has diabetes she was very fast acting on getting her a sweet lemonade when requested we were proud to give him a good tip wasnt too thrilled that his fellow co-worker at the female server came up and tried to what appeared has her way of stealing the customers are getting his tip not that she requested it but it came off as that now we understand that could also be her way of just helping out still nevertheless God be careful but like him she was very friendly and we really enjoyed our meal especially the crawfish etouffee and plan to head back soon hopefully sometime this month or in September for August 2022 thats all
Amazing place, our food was fantastic and our waitress Jessalyn Harris was so great!!!! She had an amazing personality and her vibes were the best!!! Definitely need more waitresses like her all around!!
I had the Brisket Burger. It should be called the Three Day Brisket Burger. It took me 3 days to eat & finish the thing. Its a Big Burger, it has a big thick ground beef patty with brisket meat on top with caramelized onions & green bell peppers, and bbq sauce. Im getting the Cat Fish the next time I come to FD Grill. It looked yummy as well.
I came here with my class for our graduation dinner, this restaurant offers an elegant atmosphere. A sophisticated bar area. A wide variety of food menu from pasta to steak. Very kind waiters and waitresses. And absolutely divine food! I highly recommend the rainbow trout with shrimp, utterly delectable in my humble opinion! Thank you for the memories and God bless!
The food was amazing amd the service was just as good. FD has definitely become a new favorite!
This was my first time here and I must say the place was clean and overall affordable! There is a great variety on the menu for everyone. The food is good and looks great on the plate but lacks some seasoning. I had the rainbow trout with shrimp.
Went to FDs and ordered the Idaho rainbow trout and shrimp. I looked for the trout and finally found it. It was so small the Shrimp hid it. I was really disappointed on the size of the Trout. For $15.25 I expected it to be larger. My son and I were disappointed. I will never eat there again. So sad, you lost 2 customers. Plus we waited an hour before our order was taken then another hour for it to be served. Waitress was nice.
My husband and I eat here all the time, but lastnight the food was so bad. The firecracker shrimp was like it had been cook and then sat in the kitchen for hours it wasnt hot and had a really bad dirty taste.. My trout was very fishy and dirty tasting too. I ended up sending it back to be remade, but it was still bad... my husband said his food wasnt good either... def wont be Going back for awhile.
Everything was great from the moment that we walked in,less than 3 minutes to get a table,5 minutes for drinks to be served, another 5 minutes for adpertizer,25 minutes later our delicious dinner was served,by our outstanding waitress!A wonderful place to dine out!!!
I love FDs have always been very pleased with quality of food. I just received my delivery order and so disappointed. Almost $5.00 for sweet potatos and I get a small container.
FDs has become one of my husbands & my fave places to eat. The food is always delicious, service is great, & prices are reasonable. They have healthy options that are still top picks. We always recommend!
Went to rest on Sunday afternoon around 6pm. It was crazy busy. So, I wasgoing to give them a little break because I know how difficult times are. Got a table, filthy, especially the floor. I know they were trying to keep turning tables, but there was so much food on the carpeted floor. The table was leveled with a dirty dish towel. All the menus were not wiped down, sent them back. The young waiter was nice, but you can tell he was a bit overwhelmed. We ordered drinks including a bottle of wine. All the glasses were maybe washed, but had good and water spots on them. He brought me new glasses, but they were not that much better. We ordered, food had to have been sitting for a long time. Vegetables were cold, shrimp over cooked and cold steak was tough and over cooked. Other things including pretty unattended restrooms. Im glad they were busy, I like this place but it wasnt a very good experience. Maybe just a bad Sunday. Any other place or time, I would have refused to finish, we took most of the food home in to- go boxes.I wish manager would have been visible and maybe interacted with customers and many of the problems could have been solved.
What a great find! Very good prices for an upscale but casual place. Everyone was friendly. Fast service. Had snapper meal and husband had fish and chips (cod). Both were excellent. Located in the Cumberland Mall area. We will be back!
Several mouth watering choices. Tasty food.
The atmosphere is wonderful, the ribs were perfect and the service was great. Our server Michael was knowledgeable and efficient. Very affordable. We will definitely be going back.
Had a good time eating here. Our server was kind and the food was really good. Decent drink selection too. Got "to go" food another day and I got some really really good chicken.
From the time we walked into the restaurant--and back out the door after eating---the service was splendid! I would have given five stars--but this gives me the opportunity to go back.and enjoy the service---to make sure they didnt think i was a secret shopper!😉Food was great. Had the Trio and all crab dip--amazing! Waitress was nice and attentive. Great service. Not to mention that i had just left another "newer" restaurant in town for horrible service. Glad I made this choice!!!
We go here all the time first off. Yes I under stand the problems going on with the industry. Our waiter was a young guy who worked his hardest with what he was given. Took for ever to get our food. My grandsons fries had a shrimp tail in them and it looked as tho it was bitten off of.My Hawaiian chicken was cold and on a dirty plate. Waiter apologized and said let me get manager. He came back said she was no where to be found. He got us more fries. The manager came by our table and said no the shrimp wasn’t bit off of and said I’ll get you dessert. Left before I could say a word about chicken. She said I’ll be right back and tell the cook. Never seen her again.Waiter came back and I told him. He apologized and said I’ll get her. He said she was no where to be found. I said that’s ok. He said he couldn’t take it off with out her approval. I said it’s ok. He said no!! I’ll pay for it. I said honey this isn’t your fault. The reason I wrote this long story is , FD’S is going down hill. I read praises but there are just as many complaints. Our visit there was 2:30 mins. Never has it taken that long. Paid whole bill! The manager didn’t even take off 2.50 for fries. This visit has put me off for a while! I’ll try later. Shame on manager for leaving this kid to deal with a upset customer. He was so nervous.Ps I wasn’t rude in any way!
I ate at FDs Grillhouse on June 5, 2022.I came in right at the end of dinner rush. Google Maps said that they werent too busy, but close to 15-18 people were walking in right as I was pulling up. I settled myself in for a wait, because I hadnt made reservations, but luckily, all those people were two big parties and required big tables, so I was able to get seated at a standard booth right away.Austin, my server, was on the ball. The restaurant was full, and he was obviously busy, but I was never neglected. Sometimes its easy to neglect a lone diner in favor of big tables, because the tip wont be as high from that lone guy. I get that. But a good server will make sure everyone theyre responsible for is having a good dinner. And Austin was a good server. I tipped him accordingly. The restaurant itself was rather full, but the lighting was down and the music subdued, so people were able to talk without raising their voices. So, even though the place was full of people, it wasnt rowdy or noisy.I started out with a Banshee pinot noir, which was amazing. I usually dont take special note of the wines I try, beyond making mental notes for my review, but this one was so good I sent myself a text to buy it later for the wine cabinet. The deviled egg appetizer was a nice homey touch. Ive had gourmet deviled eggs with wasabi or other stuff in them. And I like those just fine, but these were good old fashioned deviled eggs like grandma used to make. The bacon bit on top was just crispy enough with just a touch of chew, without being over-done, hard, or brittle. Its hard to mess up a filet, but believe it or not, Ive gotten some bad cuts in other restaurants. My steak at FDs was tender, well-seasoned, and perfectly cooked throughout. It practically melted in my mouth. Im not exaggerating when I say that Ive had some homestyle breads that were harder to chew. The matchstick vegetables were zucchini, yellow squash, and carrots and appeared steamed. Soft, but a touch al dente. The preparation was simple, without too much done to them. But they were delicious. The potato was fully loaded, but here that seems to mean "butter, sour cream and cheese". There were no chives or bits of bacon. But I dont mind that so much. The potato was fresh and delicious, and had plenty of butter--sometimes, you end up with a dry potato because they give you about half the butter you need to moisten the whole thing. It was well-washed before cooking, too. I like to eat the skins--which I know not everyone does--and sometimes, you can get a bit of sand grit if the restaurant has not thoroughly washed the potato before cooking. Mine was perfect.Everything was so delicious that I didnt leave a scrap on my plate.
We had heard a lot of good stuff about FD’s and during my first visit the firecracker shrimps confirmed the words, but the later order was not as good as expected. I ordered mainly the serious and the shrimps were not properly cleaned before coming. :( crawfish tasted good as well as the salmon but the order was delivered in multiple turns which killed the appetite. I can understand it could have been due to crowded hours but a good restaurant should be able to manage the quality during rush hours as well. That’s a key point that we missed during our first visit.
My family chose this place to celebrate 🍾 my parents Anniversary. The food and service was great! The atmosphere is pleasant. We arrived at 4:30 on a Tuesday, which was perfect because it was not too busy. 😉
We had the deviled egg appetizer, brisket tacos with fries, and the centercut sirloin and shrimp with green beans and loaded potato. The steak was delicious and cooked perfectly. The grilled shrimp were way overcooked but tasty flavor wise. Green beans were ok. The brisket tacos were decent. They would have been better had the onions actually been caramelized instead of just warmed over. Good flavors they just need to work on the execution to take it to the next level.
Great produce, great jellies, fresh bread, wonderful crafts, and the nicest people in the world!
I typically sit at the bar when I dine in and I have had the pleasure of meeting the most personable and amazing bartender, KJ. He is always prompt with service/greeting my guest and I and always remembers my drink of choice and meal before I even get the chance to order. I appreciate knowing that he cares about his customers and not just another dollar. He is GREAT attribute to FDs and one of the main reasons I continue to visit this location!!
The only reason it’s 2 stars and not one is that our waitress was awesome and the drinks were real good. However, this place was a mess. The seats of the booth we sat at were ripped in multiple places and were completely sagging and worn out. The men’s bathroom was trashed. It was as filthy as any truck stop bathroom I’ve ever had the displeasure of seeing. There was no excuse - this place was busy, but there were a LOT of employees working at this location. There’s no excuse for seats that looked this way or bathrooms that are this filthy.
Food was good. Server was sweet
Grilled Fish tacos are awesome with a tasty sauce on the side.. I was pleasantly surprise at $8.99. The fries were well seasoned. The chips and dipping sauces were good. The service was fast and staff very nice. The only negative I experienced was the temperature was uncomfortably cold. My wife needed to go back to the car like others to get sweaters. It made our stay very short.
This place was very nice. Very clean and designed well. Our server was great. Very nice and attentive. The was was very good too. My only complaint is the place was freezing. No reason to have the place that cold. Its not even summer yet. It was uncomfortable. I guess Ill add that my server didnt seem satisfied with my $10 tip. It was my wife, my son and me. I mean what else do you want? Something is better than nothing.
I love this place, the food is always great, BUT the drinks are AMAZING, I tried a different one the UBERITA, the name Im told is because you will need an Uber to get home😁. Our waitress was fantastic, the quality of care was spot on considering how many tables she had. I will be back soon
This place not only has the best service in all of Tyler, but the best foods well! And the prices are unbelievably low!!! We definitely recommend this place! Also the cleanest restaurant in Tyler!
Food was pretty good and service was also impeccable. Everyone was extremely friendly, attentive, and had rapport with several of the patrons. Only thing I’d say is be mindful of what time you go; especially around shift change. A little disorganized during these times and it might be easier to sit at the bar if you’re waiting too long for the hostess or to be seated.
The food here was pretty delicious my favorite was the firecracker shrimp! It had the right amount of sweet and spicy to it. The drinks were also really good as well. I do wish the menu had a few more items but overall it was a good experience. The restaurant was clean and the staff was really nice and efficient.
Best place we have been in Tyler! We absolutely love FD’s Grillhouse. The food is marvelous and at a great price! The staff was above and beyond greatness! Our waitress was Sara and she was there taking care of us before we needed anything. I highly recommend this place for anyone, lunch or dinner. PS: you gotta try the deviled eggs and the trio dip for appetizers!
The food was good but honestly none of the selections really caught my eye. I found that they really didn’t have a huge menu of items to choose from and I’d have to be craving something specific to go there again. The atmosphere was great though and the service was fast, at least at lunch time.
Really good food. Our server was very kind. One person in our party needed gluten free options and his order was incorrect. She paid for his entrée because of the mistake. The brisket burger was terrific. It rivals anything at Stanleys.
We were out in Tyler for the day and stopped in for lunch. When we initially walked in we were very impressed with the ambiance and how nice everything was. The moment we sat down though our viewpoint changed. The booth smelled like it had been "cleaned" using either an old cleaning towel or old musty water. You know that mildewy smell? Thats what our booth smelled like. But we ignored it and tried to ignore our meal. Then the drinks come. She and I couldnt finish our drinks. I got an old fashioned and she got a margarita on the rocks. These are our normal drinks and usually get them wherever we go. These were awful. Her tasted like just margarita mix and I dont know what my drink was supposed to be but it wasnt an old fashioned. The food was better. The steak was undercooked and the Vegetables were bland. To say i was disappointed in the place is an understatement.
Texas style...such an unexpected pleasure for sure. Very nice, hip, stylin interior but outside ya gotta look for it. Prices are very reasonable and nice selection. I had a top sirloin and shrimp, baked potato, green beans and some delicious Long Island Iced Teas. My server, Madison a girl, later recommended to me the homemade key lime pie..heck yeah good ... no Wait great call! And the price for it all are a steal.... bargain price and super tasty food with great service...what else yall want!!??
What a fantastic place to eat. Highly diverse menu and the prices are simply unbeatable. The staff is fantastic, the food is 5 stars and the proportions are healthy but not ridiculously so. Everything is clean and neat and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. This is definitely one of my favorite new places to visit.
A pleasant surprise. Not perfect, but "Aaren", our waiter, was excellent. Its hard to find both good food and service. Taking into account the current status and how restaurants must operate in this mess, overall, a very good experience.First, the bad: Vegetables. Both mine and my wifes Vegetables were less than desirable, cold and without flavor see the pictures, theyre worth a thousand words). Why such a good rating then? Glad you asked! The steak, mine and my wifes, were excellent (see the T-bone... scrumptious). Great flavor and cooked to perfection. Oh, the appetizer, "Firecracker Shrimp" was superb. Not too spicy for the faint of heart. Youll like them.Desert! FANTASTIC! Wife and I shared the "Hot fudge Sunday", NOT like your fast-food sundaes, it was phenomenal!!!Lastly, I have to talk about "Aaren." When he brought our food out, my wife and I could tell the veggies lacked something. We chose not to make a big deal out of it, (we took them home to warm them up and provide some flavor). They just plated it too soon, along with the onion rings that came with the meal. When Aaren came back, I politely asked him to let them know to provide warm onion rings next time. Didnt expect anything. Aaren went back and brought two new ones to us. THAT was service. He did a fine job. I dont know Aaren from any other waiter, but Id ask for him again too.Again, overall good meal. The service to me, is always a "deal or no deal" for going back. We WILL be back!Check out the sundae!!! Man! It was GREAT!
