What a fabulous gem of a restaurant, great staff, fabulous food, and superb views.

Its not often I am able to find a place that ticks ALL of boxes, but one my favorites has to be Faber, by a country mile! Wheelchair accessible. The food was fantasmagorical and affordable. The staff were knowledgeable and attentive, but not disruptive. The venue was enticing and I loved, loved, loved the art work. I enjoyed have a birds eye view of the kitchen, while enjoying a lovely meal and the beautiful sunset. The photos dont do it justice, so do yourself a favor and trust my review. The food is worth every cent you will end up paying, and every kilometer it will take you to get here. We stayed at De Leeuwenhof close by, so we didnt have to drive home after a lovely dinner which included the most delicious wine. Highly recommend.

Best food ever and great wine

My wife and I had planned to enjoyed a six course Faber menu with Avondale wine pairing. The food and service were excellent but suddenly the site manager and a number of sales people come and turn the whole experience into an office. They ruined the whole atmosphere by discussing prices and deliveries around Avondale Wine. The visit was not a particularly pleasant experience.If the entire patio is empty of guests, an idea might be not to place business groups at the table next to the only other guests.

Excellent service, experience and location. Do recommend going before the sunsets. Kat De Wet is an amazing Manager as well as the staff and the Chefs.

What an amazing Restaurant to eat at. We felt welcome and look after since we arrived. The food was properbly the best I ever tasted. Welldone chef!!

Attentive service, lovely food, excellent wine - an idyllic experience is on your doorstepPaarl seems like it might be a great trek. However we were pleasantly surprised to be rewarded with an idyllic escape after a 40 minute journey out of Cape Town. Service was superlative and the restaurant is a run attentively and unobtrusively. The menu was delightful with foraged items being used excellently, beautifully and tastily in a garden setting with a wonderful landscape to crown it all. Portions were generous and the wine is incredible.

We just came back from Faber and we had such a lovely time there. The food is amazing, the setting beautiful and the service was great! We tried out their 3 course menu (restaurant week has been extended till the 14th of Novemberand I highly recommend going here!

Wow is the first words that form in my mind, just before it is blown away by the exquisite food...From the home baked selection of breads, served with butter and houmous and dukka, though mains featuring Karoo LAMB (OH MY GOODNESSand Sirloin steak, to the Burnt Cheesecake desert, my taste buds were DANCING!Did I say WOW? If I hadnt, it definitely worth a mention

Outstanding food, service and wine! Heaven on a plate!

Situated on a beautiful wine estate with fantastic mountain views. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, we were welcomed by every staff member. We did not have a reservation, however, they were willing to accommodate us even though they were expecting a big crowd. To our surprise, we received complimentary sour dough bread with a herb aioli and honey butter, as well as delicious pumpkin fritters and freshly squeezed plum juice. For the starter, we had the oven roasted celeriac, which was a perfect combination of sweet and savoury - the cheese flavour was just perfect. For mains we had the pan roasted Black Bream, which was cooked to perfection with tender grilled squid. Dessert was the aromatic poached guava - a wonderfully refreshing end to our fine dining lunch experience. I will recommend this place if you are looking for a fine dining restaurant.

Really enjoyed lunch here today. Lovely venue with great food, wine and service. Good options for kids and lots of space for them to run around with soccer ball provided.Plus the only restaurant on our trip that read the reservation notes in advance and provided gluten free for coeliac with no fuss (including a GF pumpkin fritter and selection of breads!)Nice little shop attached too

This is our fourth visit to FABER and each visits experience exceeds the previous. Our table for two was seated outside on the veranda overlooking the farm and valley - absolute breath-taking setting. Our lunch dishes were a visual masterpiece and were even more exquisite on the palate with the paired Avondale Wine. The entire team is upbeat and the positive vibe in the restaurant is contagious. The restaurant offers a unique holistic experience and I highly recommend to both local folk and international travellers.

Exceptional lunch experience at Faber Restaurant at Avondale on Sunday. We had slowly braised pork belly and asparagus for starters, with rack of lamb for mains. Everything prepared to perfection and service to match. The menu is well structured with a good range but not too long. They also offer a 6 course tasting menu. The setting is beautiful and we selected the outside setting in the lovely garden.

Amazing service paired with delicious food, wine and views this is an absolute must. Hidden away from the busy city this is such a beautiful break-away to relax with your loved ones and enjoy organic home grown food :)

Amazing venue with great seasonal food. Service was outstanding with food to match. The atmosphere was relaxed and the kids were allowed to play soccer on the lawn and splash in the fountain (in fact they even provided the towels and soccer ball!). High chairs available for smaller children.

Went to faber with friends from UK we were always sure about the capabilities of service and food standards but this time we were astonished by what we faber provided thanks to the service that we got food was amazing well done Chef for always making those great dishes please l would advise that when you visit try the yellow tail dish amazing

Disappointing evening despite beautiful location. Steaks were too tough, my mother in law couldnt even finish hers. Our complaint was ignored. Rest of the food was good. What we dont appreciate is the fact that they counted 2 small children as full guests to automatically add a 12.5% tip. Wont go back in a long time.

Faber is an incredible experience and the go to for celebrations. They are accommodating with food allergies. The experience is what I would say a master chef experience with a kitchen you can watch prepare your food. Fast, efficient, delicious food and the wine is sublime 20/10.

Had dinner here on a Saturday evening. Astonishing surroundings in a beautiful restaurant. Food was excellent with lots of complementary tastes. We experienced great hostmanship.Next time in South Africa we will definitely eat at Faber again.

Blessings service and caring personality made it even more worth it and special.The food were absolutely amazing, with a French flair, we loved the freshness and amazing combinations that Chef Dale has created.They were even accommodating to my gluten intolerance.All the staff members were extremely friendly and helpful.I am in the Hospitality industry myself and its just amazing to see such an amazing team - one can immediately see and notice if staff is working as a team and are happy.We will be back, this is definitely my #1 so far in the Winelands (its beyond places like Tokara and Reubens)...RegardsRuan and Fransunette

I would like to thank the whole of the FABER team profusely for such a beautiful celebration on our Anniversary. We could not have picked out a better place. We were both blown away by the meal and presentations, and in such a spectacular setting. Our friendly, and most informative waiter, Jeff was the cherry on top - he really went the extra mile and for that we are very grateful. We wish to spend every anniversary there from now on. Absolutely excellent. Stunning. Great service and even better food. Fantastic wine. The service itself was worth it. The views during sunset are spectacular. The chef killed it with the food, and he personally came up and asked us how the food was. Would wholeheartedly recommend
