Great place to get bait or fresh seafood for dinner ,just got a 100lb sack of fresh oysters and a sack of crawfish and I am very happy with my purchase.

Just reopened and has fresh oysters as well as a variety of fish for sale. A welcome addition to the Port Lavaca waterfront.

The store was very reasonable I even had clerk peel my shrimp price was great on oysters go there people.

I bought 3 pounds of the largest shrimp on Saturday. Put them in the refrigerator to eat on Sunday and they turned brown overnight and smelled worse than any bait shrimp I have ever smelled. $40 down the drain. I will never buy from there again.

TOURISTS BEWARE!Visited this place this week and discovered a few unpleasant things, all thanks to Evelyns Seafood Market. We purchased what we assumed were two pounds of 30-35 count gulf shrimp. We brought them home to have a steak and shrimp dinner. After taking an hour to peel and devein 18 shrimp (arthritic hands make the process slow). They were kept on ice throughout. We were shocked at the DISGUSTING flavor of the shrimp. It was a sludgey, muddy, with a hint of raw sewage mouthful. It was bad enough to make you puke. We called and were told to bring them back. We did and were given a full refund. The kicker to this tale of bad shrimp business is that the woman who gave me the refund proceeds to tell me that I should have not bought farm-raised shrimp. Excuse me? You are in a seafood market right on the bay and you sell farm raised shrimp in your case? I had heard that farm-raised shrimp was gross & now I know it isnt. It is far worse. The only bright side to this is just down the street. The owners of Millers seafood were VERY kind, knowledgeable and hooked us up with the Gulf shrimp taste and quality we were looking for.

Based on the 5-star rating and my craving for some local seafood, I decided to give this place a shot. First, the young woman behind the counter was very gracious and friendly, so 5 stars for her, but I had a 1-star reaction to the discovery this was not a restaurant at all. All the excellent looking seafood and fish was raw and none of it was leaving this building cooked.If youre in the market for fresh fish and seafood, go here its a great shop and they have great customer service.

Its a big blessing love to fish on the back pier night lights are great and bait shrimp is awesome here..
