Wonderful pasta dish and cocktails. A little loud and busy, so probably good to book. Didnt take too long for food to come out. Unfortunately the desert really let them down and I didnt enjoy the Tirimasu at all (one sponge was smoked unpleasantly and the other was bone dry, the filling was frozen and had icicles).

We went here this evening and it was pretty disappointing. We were about the third table to be seated. We arrived 15 minutes early at 5.45 and they kindly sat us at our table. We ordered food and asked for the kids pizza to come with the entree, they did do this at least. We did not get our first mains until 6.45, then They only bought out two pizzas, it took another 15 minutes for the other two meals to come out. This meant that the 4 adults didn’t get to eat at the same time. Yet the tables which had arrived after us were being served all their meals way before us. We then had to ask where the two salads were which we ordered, these then took another 15 minutes to arrive as they hadn’t been prepared. The waitress was lovely and apologised but considering we arrived at 5.45, ordered one entree and then waited 45 minutes for two main pizzas, another 15 minutes for the other two mains and another 15 minutes for the salads they forgot it was pretty poor. $260 later…. Won’t go here again! Considering these pizzas are $30+ it was very disappointing

It was 8pm and we couldnt find a restaurant that would take us until we went up stairs to Etrusco. The Pasta and Pizza were great. Were still talking about the delicious Pizza 🍕 we had.

My partner and I went here for my birthday, he organised for the restaurant to have a bottle of very nice champagne waiting at our table on arrival. It was the best surprise! The food was absolutely amazing, some of the best pasta and pizza we’ve had. The staff were so friendly and so accommodating. Definitely highly recommend :)

Firstly, the staff just talking around then forgot my cup of coffee. The spaghetti were so disappointing us cause it just like the $2 package of spaghetti in the supermarket. The soup was the only thing thats in a standard level and I dont want to talk about those desserts either. In my opinion, it is not worth the price as I am here for fine dining.

The food was great. It is a busy place so book in advance. It can be quite noisy, (as a consequence of so many people), so expect it when you go.I was there on a Monday and the place filled up really quickly, a good indication of good food on the horizon. The service was good. I would suggest to the staff to keep an eye on peoples drinks glasses. There is always room to upsell another glass of wine or beer. Keep people topped up, pour their wine for them if they have a bottle on the table. A simple act, but it leaves a great impression of professional service and probably leads to another bottle of wine for the table. The dish i had was simple, but beautifully done. Very tasty. Compliments to the chefs.

Just happened to find this Italian gem of a restaurant on our walk into town looking for a place to eat dinner. Saw people through the windows on 1st floor of Savoy building from the street and the place looked cosy with beautful old windows. The inside didnt disappoint with stunning architectural details, original wooden floors, big leadlight windows and ornate ceilings. It took a while for someone to eventually take our order, but the food was worth it. We had the rosemary and salted flat bread to start which was very good, then the medium size (not grande which are hugevenison pasta called Cervo and my friend had the Carbonara. Both absolutely divine! You have to ask for salt, a pepper grinder and parmesan to add to the pasta, which I thought would be standard condiments on every table. Also had the Panna Cotta with raspberry sauce for dessert, which was a very generous portion size and perfectly wobbly (the way its supposed to be). My friend had the Crostata al Limone (lemon pie), which looked like a cheesecake. Very nice but maybe a bit too much cream. Very busy restaurant on a Monday night, which showed how popular the place is. Would definitely go back again.

have been here a few times over the last 15 years or so and always come away thinking the same; WHY DONT THEY MAKE THEIR OWN PASTA FRESH??? surely this is a must for an italian resturant?packet penne pasta really takes focus away from the delicious sauces and other things they do so well, and of course the beautiful room.

It wasn’t the best Italian food we’ve had, but it also isn’t the worst. Service was a little slow and the pizza came served on a ceramic plate (not a wooden board), resulting in the base of the pizza becoming slightly soggy. The pasta was OK - there was no Parmesan or any offer of Parmesan, leaving the taste a bit bland.

A neat space above street level. It looks like an old dance hall with a bar in the center. It tends to be a little on the drafty side and it definitely got noisy as the dining room filled up. I had the pasta verde and the the grande portion was large enough for two people. The description said it was pesto with pine nuts and a touch of cream but it was a pretty heavy-handed touch. The pasta could have been cooked a minute longer and with salted water as it wasnt quite tender. I would call it a solid meal and a generous portion but not the most authentic Italian food. I cant fault the staff, they were friendly and attentive without being overbearing.

Low quality posing as high end Italian. Soggy tasteless pizza dough. Over loaded toppings. Slow service. Pasta was not fresh. Sauces were not balanced. Honestly I would be surprised if anybody in this establishment had any authority within Italian cuisine. Very disappointed. THE OLIVES STILL HAD STONES AND NOBODY WARNED US! choke hazard scandal waiting to happen.

Absolutely loved this place!Def order the pizza bread as a started with some prosciutto and salami on the side. Your piece of Italy in Dunedin.Almost all the dishes are authentic (more the pasta than the pizzaand the staff is doing the best job. Friendly and extremely accommodative.Pasta (grandeare really grande portions. We had to take them with us.If you love salty and spicy, get Puttanesca (no it doesnt taste fishy at all because of the anchovies). Venison pasta was also a winner. Carbonara as well! The Amatriciana bianca were a bit dry.Their Pinot Noir is one of the best I have had. And the prices are very reasonable!

It was already dark by the time I reached the city of Dunedin. After the checking-in process, I quickly refer to my itinerary to check on the places to eat. Moray Place near the Octagon (centre of Dunedinsounded like a good proposition as I want to check out the statue of Robert Burns. I have not been back for more than 19 years now and I certainly want to see what are the changes that have taken in this city which I spent about 2 years to obtain my degree.Lucky for me, I managed to find a parking nearby the restaurant as it was drizzling quite a bit. Its located on the first floor. My first impression was how cosy the place was - it was a family-owned business and the service was as warm & friendly as Id read in the reviews. We were shown to our table and quickly ordered the dinner.◾Antipasto Toscano - a selection of authentic Italian cured meats, garlic infused feta, marinated olives, artichokes and served with homemade dips and crostini. Everything looks like have been jumbled up but in a beautiful way. Our first plate and it was cleaned up fast by the hungry pack.◾Neo Zelandese pizza - a twist of Hawaiian style pizza using cheese, ham, mushroom, pineapple and parsley with tomato base. The crispy thin crust pizza looked so inviting when it was served, but not for long.◾Nonno - diced pancetta flamed in vodka with cream, chilly, tomato, parmesan and fresh parsley tossed through penne.◾Brookfields Sun Dried Malbec - a New Zealands first kind of Malbec and its described as Malbec on steroid. Welcoming drink after the long drive. All dishes tasted like homemade out of love and we absolutely loved them.. or maybe we were famished at that point of time? After the lovely meal, we couldnt stay out too long because it was raining and the chilly wind was blowing. We just headed back to our accommodation to enjoy the wine we bought from Mishas Vineyard Tasting Room (Cromwellearlier.

What a fantastic restaurant! Etrusco is family owned and operated and you certainly get this vibe as soon as you enter. Both the reception and the restaurant was warm and cosy from the get go. Roaring fire in the corner, happy smiles and attentive hosting from the moment we entered to the time we left. The food was outstanding, the service was attentive (without being intrusiveand we were treated like old friends after an absence. My partner and i will most definately be back - this will be our local food haunt when in Dunedin.

I turned up around 8pm on a Monday night and had no trouble getting a table right away - the restaurant was fairly busy but not loud. Had a delicious Roma pizza, but lots of things on the menu looked good and given the chance Id eat here again. Small but tasty selection of local beers too.
