Etnomir - Cultural centre in Kaluga, Russia
Etnomir in Kaluga
Description
Privilege
Best place for a simple tour
Interesting concept to understand ethnic diversity in Russia, with very good workshops and kids friendly activities. A shame that written explanations/commentary are not translated into english... also, the international zone feels a bit messy and can be boring for a foreigner. Stick to the outside part!
MoreUnfinished buildings
Awesome place
Exceptional place for recreation
Good place to get awsy from the city for a weekend
Quite unique ethnographic park, but feels more like a theme park. Plenty to do for kids, but it will cost you!
Moreits historical place and park tells u alot about the Russian culture
That was huge & nice
Very interesting place, with different sections depicting different regions of Russia and the world - Siberia, the Caucasus, Ukraine, Belarus, Japan, India, Nepal, and many others. There are themed hotels, restaurants, and exhibitions for each, as well as free excursions and paid workshops (pottery, soap making, candle dipping, e.t.c). Highly recommend for a few days in the summer or early autumn when the weather is nice. Good for families.
MoreThe place is awesome i think if all Russia is very beautiful in winter then what about summer weather.Highly recommended for kids and historical things
MoreInteresting great for the whole family
Very unique place for Russia, museum plus hotel. Loved people and food. Not a five star hotel, but really worth visiting.
MoreLove it
Awesome Cultural centre, must go place on special occasion.
Nice place & location with many cultural view
A place of world culture
Interesting place. Many different awesome buildings, big area for a walk and friendly service staff.
MoreI didnt get this place... Shopping is good, descent places to eat, good, clean rooms and nice breakfast. The rest- a lot of space with not much to see..
MoreThis summer we spent 10 days in Russia. Our friends tried to take us to as many places as possible. One of them is the Ethnomir Ethnographic Park.Friends booked one night at the local hotel Caravan Saray. The room is small with a couple of bunk beds. There is a combined toilet with shower. To my great surprise, our children were delighted at the sight of the bunk beds and immediately declared that they would sleep on the upper level, as if my spouse and I were going to claim them. There is no refrigerator or kettle in the room. By the way, we were practically not in the room — all the time we spent walking in the park.here in the hotel there is a restaurant "Chaihana", a little later I will share a description of the restaurant and the menu, which is generally very positive. As I said, all two days we were on the move and even with this rhythm of very many things we touched superficially, not having enough time to dive into the atmosphere created by the builders of the park.I personally did not see the park as something solid, having a logical chain, and there is an obvious plus in this — any place, pavilion or site can be considered independently. You can move randomly and there is no need to follow any clear route.walking in the park you move from India to Hungary, plunge into the enchanting atmosphere of Japan and China and immediately inhale the frosty air of Finland. You can rent an adult or childrens bike. There is a kind of baby carriage.I can’t say how crowded it is here at the end of the week, on weekdays it is quite possible to retire to one of the many benches and reflect on the eternal. To my great chagrin, I have to note the lack of access to some facilities for people with disabilities. So for example, breakfast was in a cafe on the territory of the park without any paths or ramps for such customers.Summing up, I would like to thank the creators of the park and its employees, primarily for the original idea and, of course, for a great time.
Morenot good, no wifi, no range for mobile network
very nice
Super! Very nice place! Must see!
That is unbelievable amazing place. I have never had experience like that. This is resort, exhibitions, spas, musiems, education and entertainment all in one!
MoreGood but services can be better
This is my first time in Etnomir. So, definitely it is a great place. There are many architecture styles that was merged into Mir Street and hotels. I was extremely impressed by facade of the Nepal hotel. In spite of this feeling with family we were staying in the hotel of East Asia and room was clean and sweet. And as we were lucky with the weather we could visit every place in this huge area and just relax in place that out of carbon dioxide and full of the fresh air in harmony with nature
MoreVery good
Needs improvement. Soviet countries side wasnt bad, but other countries was almost empty
MoreIt is very beautiful place for everyone. There are lot of collection of cultural heritage of different countries such as India, Nepal, Srilanka etc. This place is very good for kids to know the culture of the world .
MoreSo much peaceful place with lots of activities to do.. would definitely go again great sight seeing & service.
MoreWas here in January 2016. Nice place there you can fill your day with activities of diffrent sorts. Ranging from Husky slate riding to art classes. We stayed for two nights which I would say is sufficient. Didnt try the spa.Food is not cheap and varies in quality. Definitely a must is the peruvian/mexican restaurant. Autventic peruvian food in good quality prepared by peruvian cook. Pisco sour is the main cocktail in Peru - here it gets three stars.
MoreOne of the most amazing place I’ve ever seen!
the main mall was decorated nicely and the different cultures were represented authentically but the outdoor part where the houses from different countries/centuries were built, is quite sad and lonely bc all doors were closed and it was not lively. maybe it was just because of the seasons or smt, please say hi to the cow and consider that the free WiFi doesnt work
MoreA lot of attractions for kids. Beautiful park outside
Много интересного!! Very unique. Restaurant Glush is a must-see!!! Delicious food and very unique setting!
MoreSuch a wonderful place to chill.
The largest ethnographic park in Russia! The trip to ETNOMIR is a bright and incredibly informative holiday in the Moscow region all year round. Unique excursions, master classes, animation and folklore programs, authentic country hotels, many cafes of national cuisine, festivals and holidays. More parking space. Presentation of different countries. I worked with the famous singer of Russia Natalia on a music video song ‘у меня есть только ты’ at ethnomir
MoreIt is a nice and interesting place for those whod like to get to know better Russian traditions and culture.
MoreGreat place to visit with family and children. Territory is huge and you have real examples of different houses in different centuries. To see everything you need whole day. What is more, you can go to several master classes where you can learn how to do some things. On a territory are some places with different animals. Really sad to see hasky dogs in a cages.
MoreIts a beautiful and cultural place, go find out how your country and other countries are being represented
MoreInteresting, but mant attractions inside cost additional fee.
Good place for 1-2 days visit. You can see museums and other different ethnic places
Moremy son was happy and interesting there.
Nice place and lots to do and see. Pretty much everything is in Russian as you would expect but definitely worth a visit
MoreFun place. But that mostly for organized groups that book tours and kids over 8 yrs old. The cafes are ok. The Korchma with Russian-Ukranian good is supposedly one of best at this locale. Most activities and exhibits inside the general park area are at additional cost. At far above average prices.
MoreIt is better to visit it on weekends. Nice atmosphere of all over the worls culture, traditions, crafts and workshops. Big territory for walking around. Hasky and bird farm are great )
MoreAm lol
We came here quite a few years ago. We had an mazing time here. It was fascinating to see the different houses and how people used to live. We had a short session of making bread and were able to take it home after it was baked. They have loads of huskies here. We were able to play with them, which was fun. Overall a great experience.
MoreNice)
I have been there twice - in 2009 and in 2012 with my kids. We all loved it very much and would probably visit it again in a few years.
