Ethnography Museum in San Borja
Description
Really great collection, huge! Both ancient objects and contemporary fashion, lots of info on how people lived. Fantastic stuff
MoreBeautiful museum, laid out really well and very clean displays. The explanations were great, the variety of artifacts made it very worth it.
MoreOne of the best museums when it comes to Andean culture. The museum is at an international standard and its a must see.
MoreReally interesting museum.
Interesting museum with many things on display. Having some information in English would be nice.
MoreBeautiful building and interesting exhibitions, definitely worth a visit. My favourite was the mask room but there is a lot more to explore. Coins, feathers, caps, textiles... Special thanks to Mari who speaks very good German and patiently guided me trough the whole museum.
MoreProbably one of the best museums I’ve been to. I thought it looked a little small from the outside, but it’s actually huge. My favourite parts were the videos, the masks, and the photographic exhibition
MoreExcellent museum, really gives you a feel for the ancient cultures of the area.
Une of the nicest museums in La Paz
Excellent museum, very well built. Be careful, there are 3 floors with 8 exhibitions, so it will take you 2+ hours to admire it all. English explanations should be available through qr codes.
MoreEducational, super clean, organized! Must go in La Paz
Wow, the mask collection is absolutely mind-blowing! Only downside: Everything is in Spanish. So worth the 20Bs entrance.
MoreFantastic experience
Most exhibits are replicas, and there is no English anywhere in the museum.
Amazing
Amazing experience, 💯 recommend.
Great place to know about Bolivian ethnic culture.
A finely curated museum with a huge display of traditional masks, costumes and hats. A lot to see and very clean and modern. Worth the 20 bolivianos for sure!
MoreOutstanding! I entered with no expectations, just because I had some time to waste. I didnt even bought the ticket with the right to take pictures. Big mistake. In such a way that I consider buy a second ticket and go for another round. The masks exhibit as well as the feather decorative objects exhibit are a total blast. But the other rooms are good too and the building worth a visit by itself.
MoreThis is absolutely perfect. Outside looks like a small old colonial house, inside a gem. The modern part is inside, huge and well done. The exhibitions are exquisite.
MoreThey renewed their display and it looks fantastic, its a very complete collection
MoreMassive museum with a complete collection of items. The mask section was the highlight for me
MoreSmall but underrated museum. Costs 20 BOB for foreigners to enter and an extra 20 BOB to take photos. The masks gallery was the highlight but feathers section also lovely. Captions are only in Spanish. Staff are very friendly.
MoreA lot of interesting items but no English descriptions
Wonderful series of exhibitions on Bolivian culture and history.
Very interesting place!!
Very interesting and well organized
Great museum, if your Spanish is not up to reading captions then ask for a guide. They are excellent and free.
MoreNice museum with masks from last 200 years. The previously were in Sucre.
Interesting and wide ranging exhibits giving a great overview of signifiers of Bolivia’s culture. 4 stars only because exhibits would be farther reaching if translated to English. More a slight on my lack of Spanish.
MoreThe visit was amazing, with a free tour guide that tells the Bolivian ethnic history trough themes such as Masks, Feathers, Minerals and etc. Worth the visit.
MoreA place where you can go see diferent art
small and cute
A great place to get in contact with the several cultures in Bolivia. Their masks exposition is amazing and a must see. Their fabrics collection is great too. Highly recommended
MoreReally nice exhibitions. Just to bad all information only is in Spanish.
Incredible, if youre looking to learn about Bolivian history, traditions and its culture, look no further, this place has it all.
MoreWhat a suprise! Wonderful museum and way bigger inside than it appears from the street.
MoreGood value for money. Amazing insight into the variation of the indigenous populations in bolivia. Clean toilets. Only downside no english translation
MoreExelent layout and very interesting stuff. I would have liked a little more explanation of the cultural and historical context of the items displayed.
MoreAmazing collection. And clean restroom. No English translation tho.
Very intersting museum located in a beautiful old buildingI particularly recommend the room with costumes and the one with the chullos.
MoreGood if you havent done many other museums in south America
Great exposition! The artefacts are worth to go check! But no English translation, only Spanish.
MoreOne of the most beautiful museums in Bolivia. A beautiful display of our culture and history.
MoreThis is a beautiful museum, it is cheap (locals 5bs and foreigns 25bs), if you want to take pictures youll have to pay 25bs extra and Tuesdays are free for locals. It is bigger than you can see, 2 or 3 hours.
MorePros: Bigger than it looks, cheap entry fee, a little bit of everything
Very nice museum and very well done. We were very impressed.
Very big and detailed museum. Very well presented with a lot of information and different sections.
MoreA lot bigger than you think its going to be. A lot of museums seem to focus on post Spanish invasion of South America. This covers from earlier to modern times. As an English speaker, struggled a bit, as everything is in Spanish- relied on google translate.
MoreThis place is good! Interesting!
