Museum halls with displays on Rwandan history, traditions, culture & anthropology.
An immersing, educational experience for those who want to know about the country, its history and culture. Very helpful staff.
Great!!! Theres a lot to see and learn about the ways, crafts, livelihoods of ancient Rwandans. What I loved the most is that some of the items exhibited here are not enclosed within glass cases. You can look them closely and probably touch them. Theres also a prototype of an ancient house that you can enter and it feels like walking into the past. This a great place to learn about the aesthetics and crafts of our (Rwandanancestors!
Excellent ethnographic museum on Rwandas history. You should also enjoy the beautiful gardens and the outside exhibition of how traditional handcraft is kept alive.
Its a cool place to visit to know more about culture of ancient Rwandans
Beautiful place with a stunning nature composed by native and exotic plants. In fact, staying there makes you feel like living in the past. Im so proud of my Rwandan culture!!
Recommended for those who want to learn the traditional life of Rwandans. The culture is well preserved.
Super place a lot to learn about Rwanda, worth a stop for an hour or so. Guide was brilliant. Museum was well maintained and speckless. Unfortunately photography was not allowed. All the best.

Had an excellent guided tour around the Museum. Fascinating and well worth a visit to learn the rich history of Rwanda. Highly recommended.

A visitable and enjoyable place that holds more History of Rwandan culture.
It s a wonderful place to visit that contains the history of Rwanda country to know!!!
This place its amazing, there are a lot of amazing things especially traditional culture and pre-history of Rwanda.
Nice little place to stop in Huye. They have a pretty good collection of historical artifacts and demonstrations of traditional Rwandan life. Worth it as a brief sidestop.
This museum deserves 5 stars its one of the best I have seen in Africa. It has different galleries, 6 I believe.Unfortunately the lady that attended to me forgot to mention that the rwandan museum board has an offer that gives a 30 % off on entry fees if you decide to see all museums and pay at once. The museum offers you the possibility to see basket weavers and intore dancers at extra fee. She unfortunately didnt not mention this as well. You get good overview of rwandan architecture, culture, geology and history. You arent allowed to take pictures inside the museum which I find a shame and a bit outdated practise found in a lot of African museums but otherwise totally worth a visit.
visited in 1997 mostly content on this Region and history Includes English translation on exhibits. Very helpful staff. Saw 2 hours of drums and dance which Staff arranged in less than an hour. As good as any Museum I have ever been to.
This museum hold the history of Rwanda. It is also a good place for ceremonies like wedding.
A nice guide gave me explanations even though his english was not excellent. You get a good understanding of how was Rwanda before colonisation, you can even go inside a kings house after removing your shoes
This is a very good place to know about Rwandas history, culture, traditional tools used before in Rwanda and the history about Kings in Rwanda like Musinga and others
The view : attractive, well designed inside, skilled workers who give the best overview of Historical life of Rwanda,etc..I would recommend others to visit the place its so wonderful
Very good overview over the Rwandan History, we had a great guide who told us lively and happily about every single item and it was really interesting for children and adults. An amazing garden surrounds the building and visitors can book in advance for traditional dancing. This is really worth it!
Detailed guiding with adequate information on cultural and traditional pathways of Rwandan living. It offers you information on agricultural heritage, traditional customs, clothes and wearing and local faith (before Christianity and Islam took over). The visit is worth the price and is insightful.
Very nice place and in my case I got very good guide with head full of knowledge. He told me a lot of stories in easy way :)
Really worth the time. Good exhibits
The museum itself is really well kept and everything is well presented. The staff were very friendly and it was a real pleasure to have Jean act as our tour guide around the museum. He was very informative, friendly and was happy to answer any questions my friend and I had. The artifacts and exhibits themselves were interesting and it was a highlight to learn more about pre-colonial Rwanda. Would recommend!
If anyone wants to know Rwanda precolonial history this is one of the best places to learn it. There are many tools and materials they used in that time. I learned a lot there
This is a good place to visit if you want to have a better understanding of things Rwandan. The selection of artefacts from different fields and the descriptions that go with it are quite good and are typically in three languages,English, French and Kinyarwanda. There are guides if you wish to use their services, and also have books and other materials for sale. Well worth visiting.
Must visit...the palace huts, kitchen, milk store and above all the ceremonial cows. Good place for adults and children. A piece of African history beautifully preserved..
Its allocate in eastern province, huye district. is the place where you can see more about culture of Rwandan like The life of kings, where they use to sleep, etc...
Lovely place to know the history of Rwanda
This is the place for learning the expansion history of Rwanda. There is good service there and its not too costly, they try there best so that everybody can afford.Allow photography in there very good looking gardens!
A nice Museum to better understand the rich Rwandan culture. Sad that the pictures are not allowed inside.
A great view into the technology, geography, and composition of the country. Artifacts from 300 AD and on.
It is an amazing place to be, to learn on Rwandan culture and traditions. You can visit personally but more enjoyable when you are a group of people.
Very interesting look at Rwandas history and tradition. Some of the artifacts are national treasures (historic drums). Some are plain illustration of the colonial past (currency). Well worth the admission.
Great place to learn about Rwandas history. You dont even need a guide as everything is clearly written and explained in Kinyarwanda, French, and English.
This is a nice museum, though the placards are a bit dated now. If you are interested in culture, language and history, this is a great stop. The grounds are perhaps even better, with expansive lawns, a forested area, traditional houses and an arts area for people (I assume localsto learn and practice traditional arts.
Fantastic collection of artifacts that are well displayed and explained. The only thing that could be added is a more fluid story around all of Rwandan history; as is its almost entirely focused on the items themselves. Beautiful facility as well and easy to get to. Definitely glad I made the trip.
A beautiful place for all family including kids. Those little ones need to understand the heritage of Rwanda which some of us saw but as generations pass we might not find it easy to explain. My kids loved it for sure!! The staff are diligent, theyre customer oriented. We have them 30 mins which they respected /used for the museum tour.
Museum of Rwandan history. A must see when in Rwanda, giving you important insights into Rwanda life apart of the colonial period
Nice museum in Rwanda. Not so funny fact is that people are still using a lot of stuff, that is exhibited. Nice and cheap shop with souvenirs. Recommended
