Ethnographic Museum in Kumanovo

The best part of it was closed. There was an exhibition but the place has a lot of potential, but it was regrettably closed.

Nice place, can go for free

Wonderful 300yo we’ll preserved house and quaint but nice exhibits. Out is the path so not a single other tourist but the groundskeeper still greeted me and let me do the exploring on my own (appreciated). Must do in Prishtinë :)

The visit to Ethnological museum is a gift- the exibition is interesting, the entrace is free of charge and you are given a guided tour by one of the workers of the museum. You can show your appreciation by a voluntary donation. We managed to convince Ilir, the curator of the museum, to give us a guided tour of the city afterhours. It was great, highly proffesional and with a personal story. I recommend both the visit to the museum and (if you are luckythe tour of Prishtina.

It was free entrance. Museum is currently under reconstruction but we were able to visit the guest house and learn about Oda custom.

Wow! It is an amazing museum♥♥♥

Worth a visit and they deserve your support even though only one of the houses is open at the moment. I arrived on a rainy day and the guide was very attentive. He explained the houses background and provided an extensive tour. The woodworking mesmerizes here. They can make more money turning the place into a glamping location.

Not so much to see and the biggest house is under renovation. They are around 300 years old during ottoman empire and used to belong to very wealthy family.

A very good destination during your visit in Prishtina,

We walked through the market and simply turned up at the museum, the guide introduced himself as we walked up to the door and just started a tour! I think he will just show people around as/when they turn up. Anyway it was very interesting to be shown around and have an explanation of life as it was.

The museum is currently under renovation, so we can only enter 1 of the 3 houses. The one that I entered is the 18th century style, small but very good to get a glimpse of how the house looks like at that time. No entrance fee but you can make donation for the restoration work.

Excellent museum. We were given a guided tour by a lovely young lady who explained things in very good English. Very interesting to learn how people of the 18th century lived. Well worth a visit especially as it was free.

Very old I was lucky to be invited to join a tour so I had a guide to inform me about everything

As of September 2019 the place is being renovated, so you can’t enter all the buildings. It’s still it worth it though, nice architecture and a great guide.

An old authentic ottoman house from a wealthy family. It is still a private property. Its interesting to see how they used to live back in the days.

Original Ottoman buildings. Only one house open when we visited but the curator gave an excellent little tour. No charge but donations welcomed.

Very interesting with passionate staff

When walking towards the museum, we were welcomed by a very kind and charming anthropologist who lead us with a lot of stories and enthousiasm through this unique museum. This was a great and unexpected experience.

Must see when the two building are both ready

The houses architecture was beautifull ottoman architecture allso the reaches life style at that time. Poor gardening coud have do e more research and arrange the garden just like was before. At the entrence ther were two more buildings but they turned over into offices and god know for what but they surely damaged historical value of that buildings. Its hard to find because ther is no signes untill you get very close...

Very interesting place, English speaking guide available

Its not big and hidden between other buildings but really worth seeing. Gives an opportunity to imagine how Pristina used to look like.The guide was really nice and passionate.They have some restorations going on right now probably it will be even better once its done.

Really loved it. Amazing! We went just to have a look - and little did we know that we were getting a guided tour through the house. And he spoke really good English! So many old things from Old Kosovo and the house has so much history 🇽🇰🇦🇱💙

Old authentic place in the mids of the busy city of Prishtinë. Gives a good inside view on how things were a few centuries ago. Good tour by the host.

It is one of the most interesting places in Pristina! It is also very historical, and it shows you a glimpse of how albanians lives were before modern times. Also very clean!

Charming museum with very knowledgable staff. A historic home, with one part under construction with the guest house visitable. It was a bit hard to find so I attached a photo of the entrance. Fee is by donation.

A lot of old and interesting artefacts. Brings you back old memories of similar places that are destroyed in so called"modernization".

A staff asked for 2.5 euro entrance fee, and no guided tour at all. Interesting gem indeed, but I wonder whether the difference of treatment is based on gender or race.

Beautifull living ottoman architecture and etnographic collection.

The only traditional building left in the capital. Guided tour by the enthusiastic curator. No gift shop but its early days for a new country.
