Large, scenic historic area with shady trees & many trails, plus the Ethan Allen tower.
They need to plant more trees in the clearing where big trees have been cut down. I love this place. Go up the tower and see the lake. Glorious. Sled down the rear road with your family. A treasure!
My children loved going to the tower and checking out the view. Love this place, nice little area for picnic with tables and a grill there for use.
Worth the hike. Afraid of heights? I was. Conquered them.
Nice trails right near downtown. The tower is definitely worth the hike, paved some of the way.
Beautiful view and great place to bring your family
Awsome playground. Our family loved bringing the boys here. All too old for playgrounds now. So we will miss it with our boys for sure.
Quite the wild park right in the middle of the city. Loads of mature trees, rugged geology, and a view from the top make this an excellent area to explore.
Dog and family friendly park
Fun Park to hike in. Beautiful scenic views.
The park is nice and appears to be well maintained. It is a beautiful place to visit. However I was very disappointed that there were no picnic tables. They have two grills, but no tables at all. My son and I took our lunch to the park with us and we had to find a flat enough rock near the cars for us to sit on while we ate. Also, it would have been nice having a sign at the entrance telling us which path to take to get to the Tower. First time I went, I was using maps on my phone and it made it appear as if I should take the path to the left. Wrong! Other than that, I truly enjoyed my visit to this beautiful park.
This is a great little park not far from downtown Burlington. It has a nice little playground, an open area, trails, and a cool tower thats an easy hike up to the top of the hill in the park. Unfortunately the tower was gated closed when we were there (Nov 2022). Maybe because if weather, working about ice, or maybe COVID? Who knows. Either way, it was a great place to visit. I recommend making the stop if youre in town.
I have been coming here since the 1970s , this park has it all , a quality playground for kids , a great place to hike and take in the some beautiful sights and a great place for American History.
I lived within a mile of the Ethan Allen Tower for 56 years and never traveled to the top. What a view from the top. A 360 degree panoramic view. 50 metal steps to the top of the tower. Recommend the quick trip.
Very beautiful spot. The park was very clean and my favorite part was the tower which is very kid friendly and only a half a mile to hike. The climb up was safe and the views were spectacular!
Great little play ground for the children! A nice stone watchtower that over looks the lake with views of the Adirondack mountains and the green mountains.
Love this park for my family! The playground is great and the trails are wonderful, they and the tower are a davorite place to explore for my family...always finding or seeing something or some place new!
There was garbage all over the playground area. Although we did enjoy the view at the top of the tower.
The walk to the tower wasnt bad at all. I would definitely say its kid friendly. The view is absolutely gorgeous.
Great place clean and all good place to bring dog and take a hike up the paths even check out the big tower thats up there wicked views of Burlington and the north Ave can see for miles
A nice place to take the family to go relax sightseeing and enjoy the view Definitely get a piece of mind
This place is really beautiful. The tower is closed due to covid but I can’t wait until it’s open again. It’s a short hike up to the tower and board walk. There’s a children’s park at the base of the trail unfortunately some creep was there with a metal detector so we decided to skip that. Wonderful views at the top. A lot of Vermonters I knew hadn’t heard of it.
Great family park, beautiful place to spend the day. walk or bike in the trails, lots of open space and a playground got the kiddos. Not to mention the views at the top are amazing looking out at the Adirondack Mountains and Lake Champlain. Highly recommend a visit.
This park is definitely worth checking out if youre visiting Burlington, especially when the leaves are popping with color. We visited on October 17 and it was absolutely gorgeous. Wear sneakers with good grip or even hiking boots if you want to check out the tower. Its a very short but somewhat steep & rocky hike. The views at the top are not to be missed!
Its free and worth the little hike. Going to the top is cool, loads of pretty views in the fall with the foliage.
Ethen Allen Park hike is one of my favorite short hikes. It leads into the ethen Allen home stead trails that are quit spectacular in there own right. It continues to the interval and into the Burlington trail leading down town if you like. Fun for both kids with a play group or a walk with your dog.
Beautiful place to go for a walk. The view from the top of the Tower is amazing!
Nice trails, easy to moderate hikes. Lovely views of Lake Champlain and Burlington.
Very beautiful and peaceful. Nice trails to walk and bicycle. Panoramic view of the lake from the tower which is a short hike from the parking area. Playground at parking area, my grand children loved it.
Lovely park for a walk with the dog. The tower at the top of the hill gives a view of all of Burlington and Lake Champlain. Unfortunately, it is closed right now due to the pandemic. But it’s still a great hike up the hill to it and you can still see pretty far from the base of it.There is a modern playground (also closed nowand many wonderful crevices and rock formations that would be great for kids to explore.
Nice place to walk in the forest with your dog. The tower is nice to see, but nothing that impressive. Good place to go to have a beer in the evening
What a neat place! The park was clean and well-maintained for the most part. The view from the top of the tower was incredible. If you only have one day in Burlington definitely add this to your list!
Great views of lake champlain and Burlington
Its a great view. Its got a park, a trail, a bike path, and a castle you can walk all the way to the top of. Its great for families and or yourself an definitely animals.
It was a walk of choice, there was steep stone woodland walking trails, along with an easy trail walk with resting boards across the trails up to the tower. Which is super cool. Only had my phone for photos but it really was a breaktaking view from the top of the tower. My walk back seemed like an adventure having choices to take enchanting & inviting off the trail ways weaving around the woods. After reading the reviews I had imagined that the tower would have been a further hike in but I reached it in the first 15 min of a slow pace. A wheel chair couldnt get to the tower but there is a paved path, I would imagine you would need some good muscles to push. 😉 I would visit again with my kids I believe they would enjoy this enchanting park in the middle of the city. Which didnt seem to phase the parks serenity and quiet. Its a smoke free park and dogs must be on a leash.
Lovely little hike. On most days you can climb to the top of the tower and get an incredible view of the lake, mountains and burlington. The park is also the perfect place for a picnic. It is always super clean and well maintained.
Great park with nice walking trails.
Lots of space to park, nicely kept playground and field, old castle tower that you can hike to and climb to the top and see a birds eye view of Burlington.
Great Historical location...
The tower is absolutely gorgeous and the view from it is out of this world! Its open during the day and it closes that dark time. I love coming here to hike!
Decent park. I didnt get a lot of time here as I biked through it quickly but it was peaceful and the trails are kept up well. Its a nice park to go get some woods hiking so close to downtown Burlington.
The view from the top of Ethan Allen tower is spectacular. It is a great place for an easy hike with the kids up to the pinnacle. We used to love taking the kids and dog up there for a bagged lunch.
One sentence review: This place offers one of the best views for little effort you can get in Burlington. The tower at this park is amazing, you get a gorgeous 360 degree view of the lake, the Adirondack and Green Mountains, and the farmland that lies between them. Its easy to lose track of time while here. The last time I went I was also pleasantly surprised to find the park more expansive too and its just a joy to get out and walk around here. Free entertainment here cannot be beat.
Nice walk with the dog across an open field then into the woods along the river. Several selections for trails. Not many people there which was nice especially on a bright sunny day though it was around zero degrees. I have to do more homework to know exactly who Ethan Allen was.
I had a great experience when I visited. There were many well made paths as well as others that a little more off trail. Overall the park looks great aesthetically with many trees along with small buildings to visit throughout your time there.
Beautiful place, everyone should experience. Climbed to the tower and got some amazing pics. Then continued down the path which seems to never end. Great for hikers, bikers, walkers
Great park to have a wander. Keep your eyes out for Wildlife in the woods. We almost stepped on a Common Ribbon Snake! (Non Venomous!). Unfortunately the tower was closed but still great views.
We love coming to this park with our kids. It’s walking distance from our house, plenty of parking, a nice playground, big field, and trails to walk and short hikes. Also the Ethan Allen Tower is always a hit to visit with the kids.
Love Ethan Allen Park! Such a great hidden gem of the New North End of Burlington. Great for a quick walk with great views, and it also connects to the Ethan Allen Homestead for a longer adventure.
Its a great place to bring children and its a little bit of a walk to the tower and a little more ways to the cliff side that looks over the Burlington area
Ethan Allen Park has a bit of everything: history, nature, paved walking and biking trails, some mountain bike trails, cliffs for climbing, playgrounds for kids and of course, Ethan Allen Tower which offers great 360º views. While its a favorite place of mine to walk with my family, theres one thing worth noting for anyone with dogs and small kids: beware of tons of broken glass, especially on trails west of the tower. Are teenagers holding blass bottle breaking contests here every weekend? Is there a glass monster that roams the hills around the park, dropping shards with every step? Whatever it is, it sucks because its the only negative to an otherwise fantastic park.
