Bustling eatery plating familiar Mexican & American specialties amid unassuming surrounds.
As always the food was amazing. Of course everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Love Mill Stop!
After not eating or drinking anything all day due to medical testing, this was just the spot to refill...service was great with lots of food.
I love this place . The moment you walk in they treat you like family , waitress and other staff were caring and upbeat . I love coming here . The food is by far the best in Pueblo - there’s a reason this place is a legend .
I have been eating there for years and the food and service is always awesome. The owner is an awesome person. And the staff are very good at what they do. One of the best in town. If you havent been there Go.
Our experience can be summed up in one word - wow. To start, these are some of the friendliest people we ever met. Everyone who works here is inviting, friendly and professional. We had a great time chatting and joking around with them. The food was superb! The chips come with three delicious sauces and each of the entrees were bursting with flavor. The sopapillas were a fantastic dessert to end an amazing meal. I wish I could give this place 6 stars. Everything was great and Im sad that its so far away from where I reside.
Wonderful food it was so darn good.i had stuffed soupapieas that were just delightful I would recommend this place to everyone
I havent had food this good in years. My husband and I enjoyed some stuffed sopapillas & man o man they were so damn good. 5 stars for sure.
The food was good but if youre looking for a quiet meal this isnt the place. Restaurant is small so Im not complaining. Just sharing a fact. My problem was our waiter. He was very rude, throwing our plates down on the table in front of us and in such a hurry his service was lousy. When we asked for extra napkins his reaction was one of irritation. I realize they were busy when we were eating but thats no excuse to be rude to loyal, paying customers.
Our go to for Mexican food here in Pueblo. Always busy, always friendly, and always reliable delightful food.
Excellent family owned cafe. First time there and already planning for next time! We got there as soon as they opened and place filled up quickly. Portions were very generous and splitable. Stuffed sopapillas were very good! Chicken flautas were fried flour tortillas and all white meat-also very good! We tried both the red and the green chile sauce-both mild and good but the green chile was the better of the 2-I could have eaten it on its own! They don’t bring you chips unless it’s part of your meal but they bring you fresh sopapillas at the end of the meal and they are mind blowingly good! May be best I’ve ever had. They were busy and we still had excellent service. Go early and don’t miss this place!!!!
Great Pueblo tradition. Good food great service. A classic eatery well worth a visit.
This place is bomb. Such good food, super nice staff!
The food is too greasy, especially the slimey green chili, gross. Made me sick to my stomach both times I have eaten here.
Family favorite to go eat at or order out! Good flavors and beautiful history behind the family owned business. Great staff and customer service. Worth the wait
Great place to have lunch. Try the stuffed soppas. Yummy green chile.
Estelas was highly recommended (4.7 starson Google when searching for a locally owned restaurant in Pueblo. Well, this just goes to show that whether something is good or bad, is wholly subjective. This is a fun, super small, family owned and operated restaurant. The place was packed at 2:00 p.m. We were seated quickly and the service was fast, professional and friendly. A sign above the door says they take their happiness seriously! They get 5 stars for all of that. When it comes to the food, however, I have to say we were disappointed. I had chicken tacos and the meat was dry and with no flavor, seriously, no seasoning was used. When you add iceberg lettuce and unripe tomatoes, what you have is a taco that is crying to be smothered in hot sauce or something! The grilled cheese and fries were also lackluster. So, to be clear, we thoroughly enjoyed the service and learning of the story of the restaurant. Sadly, at least these food items need help.
What a great find and definitely worth stopping for. Small and full of neighborhood vibe, it is a hidden gem. Staff went out of their way to greet us and assist with everything we needed. The food was excellent perfectly spiced. We will stop again most definitely.
Always friendly service. The best, most consistent food in town. Ive been coming here for years and will continue to do so. They make you feel like family!!
Friendly, family run restaurant. Excellent service. Delicious Mexican food. The options for green or red chile was an added plus. So happy to have found this local place in Pueblo on our travels. Cannot recommend it highly enough!
The food is over the top delicious and the whole family vibe is wonderful!
Estelas has been referred to me several times by a coworker. Alas, I dont make it to Pueblo often, and when I do, I make my way to Coors Tavern for their slopper. So, I decided to give it a whirl. I had the special. 3 beef enchiladas smothered in red chili and green chili. Their green chili is some of the most flavorful Ive ever had with a mild-medium heat. I will definitely be back to try more, maybe the stuffed sopapillas. And most meal comes with complimentary sopapillas. Ive never had better. Soft, large, and tasty.Be prepared for a short wait when you visit as they stay busy open to close. Worth the drive and the wait. I wish I would have tried it sooner. I highly recommend Estelas Mill Stop.!
Always crazy busy, yet still fast and friendly service. Grew up eating here. Came home in a rush on Friday nights from college to get Mill stop. Will always be one of my favorite places in Pueblo.
The family oriented atmosphere is great my family came from Texas to visit and with picky kids.my family loved it here. Hands down
Ohhh boy.. the food was great the ppl was so nice. Im a truck driver an have been on the rode for 3 weeks. This place had the best food on my whole trip. An they they not stingy with the food. 100 stars if i could give that.
The food is great. The customer service is THE BEST! I am always welcomed in. The staff ALWAYS smiles. This is my absolute favorite place to eat in pueblo. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE MILL STOP!!!!
A local tradition for decades. New Mexico style food the green chili is delicious and spicy.
I wish there was a six star review here. The food was excellent. Customer service is great food is hot and they charge reasonable prices.
Good food. Great service. Fantastic vibe. You dont see a family place like this very often.
Their food is good but the day I went they were closed for vacation
Went with several people and everybody ordered something different! Everyone loved their food.I made a huge mistake! I forgot I was not a kid anymore. I ate all of my dinner( it was amazing). I usually eat half and take the rest home.I left no room for hot sopapias with honey and cinnamon!I will not be making that mistake again! I might even ask for the sopapias first, meal second. They might indulge a long time customer!
We enjoyed a very good meal and great service. To top it all off they give you a delicious sopapilla for desert! We will go again!
A classic Pueblo restaurant! Some of the best Mexican food you will ever eat. Everything is good. Nothing is bad there. That is the truth. The fried bread sopapillas with honey that they give you at the end of your meal will stay in your sweet dreams forever. And whenever someone says think of a random happy thought, you will think of that fried bread.
One of the best Mexican restaurants in Pueblo! The staff are always friendly and the food is always delicious. The staff are accommodating with dietary restrictions. The seating could probably use some updates, the booths and swivel chairs at the counter arent the most comfortable, but its not too big of a deal. This place is a Pueblo favorite!
Im so glad they are open for indoor dining again.. this is my 1st time back since opening dining room in October because I was out of town awhile.. my daughter treated me for a missed Holiday since I was gone.. it was so very good as usual.. 🙂
We needed somewhere to stop for lunch before getting into Denver, and all of the online restaurant reviews said that the Mill Stop Cafe was THE place to try in Pueblo. We are so glad we did! Dont be fooled by the very modest exterior--inside, you will find some of the friendliest people and most soul-filling food youve ever encountered. We were there during the lunch rush and even though there was a waitlist for tables, we were seated within five minutes. Our server was wonderful and brought our stuffed sopapillas and chile relleno to the table quickly--both were incredible and exactly the kind of home-cooking we were craving. We were about to order the fresh sopapillas with honey for dessert but then found out--to our obvious delight--that they came free with the meal as the dessert. They were perfect--perfectly fried and delicious even without the added sweetness of the honey! We left with full bellies and smiles on our faces!
We were passing thru Pueblo on the way to visit our daughter and wanted a good place to eat something with green chilies. The Mill Stop Café was delicious. It’s a family owned and run business and they’ve been there 40 years. Everyone was so friendly. We got our food fast. It’s easy to find, and just right off the interstate. We got the green chili sopapilas, which were fabulous. The sopapilas with honey at the end are so light and fluffy and GOOD. They are a must. We will definitely stop here again!
Friendly staff. Tasty food. Quick service. Great price.
The food is delicious! If you like red chili its undercooked tastes like the flour was not browned enough. It has the strong taste of flour! But everything else is soooo wonderful and the staff is 5 star!
This is a Pueblo favorite with a very loyal following. The food is very plain Mexican food Colorado style. Not real tasty but very wholesome and filling. I’ll eat there again.
My family has been eating here for over 20 years and it remains as one of those places that I truly love to go to, the food is always stellar (my personal favorite being the cheese enchiladas), the staff are always friendly and helpful, its just a good experience. They can get pretty busy so I recommend coming around 1-2pm when there is a lull in customers after lunch. When we have a craving for good Mexican food we will drive from Colorado Springs to have lunch here, and maybe stop at some other shops on the way back, cant recommend them enough!
Today 2-23-22 we ate at the Mill Stop in Pueblo for lunch, we have ate there on a few occasions, each occasion has been a great dining experience. #1 they are always very friendly, greet you we a smile & a hello, always a welcoming feeling. #2 they seat you & take your drink order and offer info on the special of the day within moments, then have the drinks on your table quickly The staff, (everyone of themwork together in keeping drinks in your glass & checking if you need anything (always with a warm smilethe waitress has your order in the kitchen very soon, and your order back out quickly… These great people sale “Service” with a “Smile” great place to eat & feel like family!! Oh yeah, & the food is delicious tasting too!! To top it all off a “fresh Sopapilla” served hot with honey & cinnamon!!Thank you Mill Stop! Pueblo’s secret hideaway!! Oh yeah, one last thing, you will not leave hungry! Huge servings!!
If you are passing through, stop and visit this place. If you are visiting Pueblo, make the effort to visit this place. I stopped in on my way to Denver trying to support a local food business. From the moment I walked in, it was warm and inviting. I ordered to go and the staff were not only friendly but made me feel welcome and not in their way while I waited. I witnessed a veteran have his meal paid, the owner chatted with everyone sitting down or walking in the door, and the staff were friendly to each other. The food was good and portions were generous. I wish I could visit more often because this is how every restaurant should function. The signs on the windows say that they’ll be closed for the holidays. This tells me they value their employees who are treated like family and the rest is well deserved. Thank you Mill Stop for a great experience.
They should give other restaurants lessons on how to make nachos! Great food, great service. Everyone is so nice and friendly. They are always busy but still manage to get food out and hot in a timely manner.
Their customer service is awsome. The cashier named Tanisha was highly energetic and very helpful to my order. I liked the fact that they provided complimentary sopapia with honey it was delicious. How ever I was disappointed with their food that I ordered. I ordered a smothered burrito called el burro. It came with beef, lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole, sour cream, and cheese all inside. When they said smothered they smothered the hell out of this burrito, literally the whole to go box they deliver the food in was drenched in sauce. It almost looked like a burrito soup. Im ok with that but the dissaponent was with the flavor. All that red sauce they threw in there and it barely had any flavor, I had to pour some additional different kind of red salsa on it which by the way that actually tasted good and made my tasteless meal taste much better. I might give them another shot and try something else but their customer service like I said rocks! And they are very proactive with wiping things down with sanitizer so they do maintain cleaningness. Ill try them again and change my stars If it taste better next time.
Always busy but ALWAYS worth the wait! Scrumptious green chili and amazing enchiladas, deep fried tacos, and every other Mexican delicacy you can imagine, cooked and served by different generations of the same friendly family. All topped off with an incredible sopaipilla for dessert. Do yourself a favor and visit the next time youre looking for a great meal!
Yes excellent little place I had webos rancheros excellent my friend had chili really know she loved it heres our waitress and our number one bus person real busy Ill be going back
Although the food is not good, the family atmosphere and service provided is worth going for. Out of the food we ordered, only the beans were good. The only constructive criticisms I would have for this place is a better cook, or perhaps additional training to better the food quality.
I always order the same thing: huevos rancheros, red chile, Pancho (hotsauce and the sopapillas are the best anywhere! Great food, great, fast service: this place is one of Pueblos best!
Great service and such a friendly atmosphere all around! Their sopapillas were made perfectly and with honey drizzled on top... pure heaven! Food was delicious, green chile was great and you need to stop by this place if youre ever in town!
Super friendly and efficient table service, with laughs and smiles. You can tell that they really love serving the diverse crowd that comes into the cafe. Their food was top notch! All of their salsas tasted very fresh and had a unique flavor. The portion sizes were large enough to split two ways. That is, if you are willing to share your delicious food! As a someone that grew up on Texmex and authentic Mexican food, I can say that the food served here is legit and wonderfully flavourful.
