Esplanada - in Aileu, East Timor
Nice little spot near the beach, nice rooms
As for the bar,not hotel...a nice breezy area but service very poor
Okay I mostly liked this place - staff were nice, its right across from the ocean, I liked the old school vibe. But Im giving it three stars because for 100 bucks a night I think they can do better! For starters there is NO FAN in the room! What? In a hotel across from the ocean, you hope to capitalize on some sea breezes (at least I do!). Anyway, this forced me to keep the AC on all night, which I hate, and which is bad for the environment...Also why no fruit at breakfast? Due to a busy work schedule I went almost the entire week without fruit - thought I was going to get scurvy :Also, the fly sitch could be better managed, and maybe have a non-smoking section of the terrace? I know it is difficult but there was one guy seriously chain-smoking and thus I never got to breathe that aforementioned ocean air! Lastly, slow wifi. In short, this is the type of place I would put more at 50 USD a night max. For 100, I expect a bit more.
2,5 Stars.1 night stay: hotel has aged. Rooms are ok but not spectacular for that price.Positive:Friendly receptionCoffee was goodNegative:Worst breakfast we had in ages. It’s literally just old bread and eggs and some greasy ham. The mushrooms are not eatable. For the price of one night for almost 100 USD definitely not worth it.
Basic Beachfront BoutiqueLocated right across the beachfront, this property doesn’t come with a lot of frills, but comes with a lot of rustic raw charm that you cannot find in big fancy resorts. I. would recommend staying here just for the lovely covered terrace café and restaurant where you can lounge all day long while being caressed by a constantly caressing ocean breeze!LOCATION: Fantastic location right across the beach front and a quick taxi ride away from most attractions as well as the airport.DINE + DRINK: The absolute HIGHLIGHT of the property – A lovely restaurant/bar/café that comes with a sexy covered terrace with beautiful ocean views and lovely breeze and serves super cold beers and fine local and international cuisine!ROOM: We stayed in Room 23, so this review is based on that; VIEW: No View at all; SIZE: Reasonably spacious room; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part to put me to sleep; BATHROOM: Stand in shower; TOILETRIES: decent cosmeticsFACILITIES: No Gym, but they do have a compact pool good for a quick dip or a relaxing swimSERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all my needs with a smile and made us feel pampered and well taken care of.HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free LOW speed Wi-Fi that works well in most parts of the property. Cute looking old school TV Box dishing out some good Movie and News channels in English. Its been a long time since we have seen a TV that is not a flat screen. Antique vibe!
An amazing place to visit and stay at in Dilli. Staff were super friendly and accommodating during my stay and went the extra mile to ensure I was comfertable. During my stay I was in a twin share which had air conditioning and an en suite, both were working well and seemed well maintained. The water pressure in the toilet wasnt great and did get blocked slot but I noticed this as a common issue during my stay in Dilli. The view was beautiful and sea air refreshing, walking distance to a couple of restaurants though the Esplanade has its own restaurant which was handy. Would stay here again
Good location ... decent food with rustic environment
Live Music nya keren!
Good food with sea view
Nice, clean double rooms around a central courtyard and shady swimming pool. Staff are friendly and hospitable. The restaurant looks out over the ocean and is a great spot for the included breakfast(amazing coffeebut gets a bit of traffic noise during the day. Book directly if youre staying longer than a week for a discount.
Mostly provide western food and some dish of Timor. Nice location, you could eat while enjoying ocean breeze. Price range $5-10 per person. Good ambiance.
Nice view hotel.
Lived in Dili for months and food is never great. Staff is helpful but theres no investment put in the hotel or restaurant. Toilets are gross and never maintained, chairs are broken, overall not that great. The only reason it survives is there is no where else to go.
Bom espaço
Best way to spend your Thursday evenings! Live music and bintang :)
Aituri Laran
Great place to get cheap drinks. Big expat hang out, everyone goes here after hanging out at sky bar. They usually have a decent cover band playing, but if youre a musician talk to the manager, theyll let you go up and play a few songs. I managed to borrow a guitar and worm my way "on stage" and played a set of American country songs, a few replacements tunes and some of my originals slipped in, and the bar lived it. I had a great time here. Drinks are nothing fancy but they are cheap and plentiful.
Fascinating
Flavoursome, food, good range of dishes including local cuisine, well priced. Lovely ambience with great outlook over the sea. Dont forget your mozzie repellent in the evening, but that applies everywhere. Ill eat here again next time Im in Dili
Likasi Pas pinggir pantai n delete Banyak Kantor kedutaan
Really deserving 2.5 stars. Its a mixed bag. The food is decent. The ambience is nice. The service is hit-or-miss. The band that they have on Friday nights is quite good, but they really need to stop doing microphone checks for the first 2 hours. Either the equipment works or it doesnt, so stop saying "check check check" in between every song. The margaritas are salty and strong, very delicious, but dont for the love of God buy the house wine by the glass. We have now tried it a couple times and confirm that either they dont store their wine properly or theyre serving us really old opened wine.If you want service you need to be very proactive, go up to the counter ask them to take your order, and make sure that theyre actually writing it down. Sadly paying for your meal is also a hassle. The place can be 1/2 empty, and they can have five workers there, and you will still stand up at the counter wondering if anyone will assist you. So this place could really do well if the management trains their staff a bit better.
Acqua, frigo piccolo Tv, the caffè e bollitore in stanza
Good place, good food but not enough waiters to serve
Good food good bands good drinks good seating good views good price
Love this hotel, pricey but spoiled with beautiful beach view, sunset view, nice pool for after run recovery, best breakfast, clean and neat room.
A nice place in front of the Timor sea. Good hospitality. Nice complementary breakfast they offer. If taken at 10am its like brunch. If you want to enjoy the beauty you need to avail public transport. Microlet 09 is the microbus, which can take you to the famous TAIS market. Then you can change microlet 10 to go to Timor Plaza and many other places and have fun.
Decent food, ok drinks prices.
Have a delicious food and good service. Recommend for travellers.
Bagus bangatt deh
A hidden gem right beside the shore
Elevated Bar & Restaurant: Beautiful view, free peanuts, extensive menu with cheap and expensive options
Very nice place!
Nice place to stay with a nice view and bar.
Loved this place. My first trip to Timor-Leste was a bit all over the place but the owners of Hotel Esplanada went absolutely out of their way to help out when I needed it. Everyone was friendly, the food was great, the rooms were comfortable and clean, Id definitely stay here again.
Among the best hotels in Dili if you are okay with music until max. 11pm.
Great accommodation and restaurant in a top location overlooking the sea. Friendly staff and reliable service. Good choice if spending a few days in Dili.
The place is popular with expats. Though dated, the rooms are clean and the AC works well. It has a motel vibe - not luxurious by international standards but adequate with a nice pool area to relax.
Fatuhada mata ruak
Ok hotel. Very poor value because of the UN. Dated rooms, poor bathrooms. Service is usually absent but good when someones available. The pool is pretty good. The foods not very good and very expensive but the bar is a nice place to sit around. Wifi ok. Note that the Google marker is about 50m west of the actual location.
Great Restaurant, Good Rooms, Internet could be better. Great Pool and views. Really enjoyed it
