A lovely atmosphere and vibe. Very good food with pleasant and positive staff too.

The food, drinks and ambiance are really nice, so as a restaurant/bar it’s great. We came back on the weekend for the downstairs dancing though and were very disappointed that they were blasting Sweet Caroline and ABBA. No Latin music at all. Same music was playing in the bar and kind of ruined the vibe of a supposedly Cuban place

Came here for some pre-flea market grub and was not disappointed. Some lovely beer on draught and the plantain chips are exquisite! My only mistake was not taking advantage of the 2 4 1 cocktails 🍹

The waiting staff were really friendly but the food is small, overpriced & mediocre. Paid £13.95 for an enchilada that was tiny and not filling & tasted bland. Would go back here for a drink but not food.

Amazing food and cocktails at an affordable price. Staff are so friendly and attentive. Yummy vegetarian options.I went here for some food and drinks with my friends and it was so good I came back to celebrate my birthday here a few weeks later. They gave me a free slice of cake and a shot, which was very sweet. They also were playing really great music both times.

1 star for the cocktails.2 stars for the eye candy. Especially the hunky djAvoid this place unless you like drinking poison

We sat outside which was good as they had heaters.The food and drinks came quickly and yhe food was delicious.Staff were great too.I would go back.

The food was amazing and very delicious, Anni our waitress was super kind and she suggested some plates and they were tasty! Definitely coming back, they have a dancing bar downstairs they told us is very funny during the nigth, we been there for lunch and it was quiet, they have as well a terrace where you can finish with cocktails very confortable place and quiet to have a conversation after lunch. Good time for couples o friends on Saturdays they want to enjoy time together ❤️

Good decor and ambiance felt authentic. Cocktails were good too.Nachos were straight out of a packet onto a hot plate and the tiniest portion of guac to go with that.Waitress looks at our table with drinks still half drunk and food nearly intact, asks us if we’ll order anything else before being the bill over mid meal. Weirdest experience we’ve had in ages - the place was 70% empty, it was just after 6pm and we felt like we were being shown the door already.

Great atmosphere, really good staff - and lots of them - great food (and drinksall for a very reasonable price. My second visit, I travelled from Hertfordshire many miles to do so on this occasion and will do so again. Thank you for a great night out

My friend and I were looking for a lunchtime meal and we came across this restaurant. We had an amazing meal and cocktails. The restaurant is lovely and the staff were very helpful and accommodating.

I had dinner with my misus today. She had ropa vieja and I had the pork equivalent. Both were great. I also ordered the potato omeletter wich was freshly cooked, light and to top it up very nicely presented. My girlfriend loved the cocktails she had.The girl that served us was also very friendly. So yes 5 stars, we shall return.

We had an absolutely amazing experience at Escudo de Cuba.The staff members Daniela and Inez were very accommodating and had a conversation with us which made us feel at home. We had mentioned being new to the local area and they recommended the salsa class a few doors away which was nice.The food was very nice!! We had the meat platter for two, loved the portiona and the vegetables that went with the meal. Yummiest desert!!! 😋Some really good cocktails as well! We had Capirinhas which were very authentic. Yummy drinks, ok setting. The problem mu friends and I had was that each time we ordered we had to pay as we were sitting in their veranda. A bit silly really that there is no tab if you sit on the veranda. The waitress was also very pushey always coming over to remove plates and glasses that were not finished with. Each time we ordered some food or drink we were asked to pay, which I refused until I received my order ( I would rather see if its correct before paying lol).There was a great selection of drinks but a little pricey.

The food in this place is amazing. Regarding the average in London, the quality is incredible, real food with tasty flavour! Recommend 100%

Food and service was good but would have liked to have been advised of "12% service charge", which actually worked out at over 12.5%, when we paid up! We were sitting outside, which is fair enough to ask for payment up front but, to add service before we had service or food??

I’ve loved this restaurant for a long time now and I’ve always received the best cocktails, food and service!The 6 plates of tapas between 2-3 is perfect! And my pooch was welcome too(outside seating🙌🏾

Service was a bit slow and cocktails took long to come and my margarita wasn’t too the normal rim. But it tasted good.

Fair prices, friendly and efficient staff, great Central American tapas and Latin inspired cocktails. Nice side open air area too open til 11pm.

The food was good but the outdoor tables are at a slant and are wobbly. I had the pollo con guacamole which was very nice but my friend had the lamb which was ok but was overcooked on what she has asked for. The cocktails and mocktails are very good quality so I would give this place a 3.5/5.

Amazing atmosphere, great food, a big variety of yummy cocktails, and very sensible prices. This place was a great find and Ill be returning for sure. If you do visit, make sure to give the ceviche a try. It was a flavour bomb

I am very fond of this place, the drinks and food are good and hit all of my basic needs for a fun night out with friends and lots of margaritas. I have also come for their salsa classes which are a very fun event (there is a very easy beginner’s course but you are kind of pushed into the back corner).It can get very busy on a Saturday night so make sure to book a table :)

Always an amazing experience. Customer service is always at its very best and the food is the icing on the cake. The ambience is fantastic and gives you that real Cuban fee. My wife and I have booked to eat at this restaurant on plenty of occasions and we plan on returning over and over again 👍🏾.

Had a lovely evening here & the food was great as always. The only issue we found was when we tried to order desert & was told theres a 2hr cap time for each table. Ive been going for years & its the first time Ive heard this. It would have been nice if someone asked if we wanted desert, seeing as they now have time restrictions.

Love this place! Always feels so great to be there, staff is very welcoming and friendly! Food is simply delicious, amazing tapas and traditional Cuban main course options. Pina Rellena is my favourite meal, fresh and tasty. We had a great time, cant wait to come back soon, again!

Amazing place, great atmosphere. Pints of Corona on tap, with cool glasses with salt around the rim and limes. Yum. Got some nachos which were very cheap and very nice. Downstairs you can dance to music, also got football on a big screen.

Great atmosphere anyone fits in, cocktails are reasonably priced, staff are very efficient. Good hour and a half spent here.. would 100% recommend. There is also seating inside and outside.

Honestly the food at this place is so underrated. Tonight I had the quinoa bowl which is a starter but so so so big!!! But I’ve had other food here and it’s simply fabulous. The manager is so friendly and takes care of us as do his staff. Drinks and food are reasonably priced too

If you can, take a prime opportunity to have lunch here on a weekday - I found it surprisingly empty considering the quality.In a joyful way, the décor whisks you away to a cosy and rustic Cuban café. Memorabilia of the revolution sits alongside colourful decoration, greenery and vintage furniture. The music is naturally Cuban (think salsaso is uplifting while enjoying a meal.The food is excellent: great taste, healthy and with generous portions. In fact, I would recommend sticking to one main per person along with a drink. Although the starters are good, theyre considerable like a small main - you can probably split a starter between two people without feeling full during the main course. My personal recommendation is for the quinoa bowl - it really hits the spot with variety in taste and texture.Overall, this is a great place to go to with friends in the evening or for a long lunch break. Expect to pay around £20 for a main and drink.Highly recommended.

After looking around for a nice Cuban bar and restaurant, I decided to take my family here to celebrate our anniversary. We dont live locally to here so I hadnt heard of it (even before they moved to Dalstonbut chose after looking at the positive Google reviews.This place did not disappoint! I had booked a table for early afternoon so it was fairly empty. Im not sure how busy it gets in the evening (very busy, I suspect!).The friendly staff got us seated and provided menus and we waited for about 5-10 minutes to have our order taken. We ordered a couple of cocktails, a plate of nachos to share between 3 of us to start, 2 mains and some tapas.The food tasted very fresh and as you can see from the photos you get a sizable portion. The chicken skewers and lamb skewers tapas were tender and the rice and black beans were well seasoned.A couple more cocktails and a couple of Tequila shots (including some lime juice for my son so he could take partto finish with and I can safely say well be back again soon to try some of the other dishes.

Amazing atmosphere and food, one of the best evenings you could have, the tapas is to die for, go for the 6 for £19 and share with your date cause its very filling. The drinks are amazing too and everything is reasonably priced. A very good find

Cocktails are 2 for £13 every day before 8pm, so would recommend for these. Margaritas and Pisco Sours are nice, not wow, but definitely does the job.Service was good and friendly, but the food was pretty lacking in flavour, and was more a mix of Spanish tapas than Cuban. For getting some quick, basic food and cheap cocktails, its a good place to start for an evening but wouldnt recommend for good food. Sorry!

Good value for money, nice ambiance, tapas were lovely great for groups to share a bit of everything.Lots drink choices, cocktails were nice (241 happy hour was great).Staff were very nice and friendly despite being rushed off their feet.My deduction on the last star is due to the shared and only toilet. For a busy place, 3people waiting to use the loo in a restaurant is not right.

One of my favourite restaurants to go to. Its nothing fancy but has lots of character and an amazingly fun atmosphere. Awesome Latin music is played. its on the smaller side with a bar in the back. Happy hour is from 4pm. They also do jugs of cocktails (photo included, excuse the quality that was taken at nightfor a good price.The food was a huge portion to.be honest, more than I could handle but it was delicious. Been here a few times now. Twice with family and once in the evening for cocktails with my sister. Going back again soon!

This restaurant tops many that I have been to. First we ordered nachos with pulled beef which was INCREDIBLE, then we got the chicken and fish mains and wow it was honestly so amazing. I am so overwhelmed I cant event describe how amazing my experience was at this restaurant that Im running out of words. Honestly it was amazing

Only gripe is that starters arrived after the mains, which didnt give enough time to enjoy the appertivos. Otherwise, great portion sizes of delicious meat, rice, beans and vege.Managed a couple of cocktails during happy hour (4-8pm).Also a shot of complimentary tequila or sambucca to end the night.Will be back!!

Nice atmosphere, great food (big amount!), and tasty cocktails! They have a happy hour until 8pm, get 2 for the price of one (i think £8.50).

Really great place. Terrific. Everybody agrees. Seriously though, the atmosphere is relaxing and transporting. It doesnt feel like youre in cold London when you step in to this restaurant. The food we had was clever and delicious and the fish of the day was exceptionally well cooked. The pork was a little dry but they still get five stars for the service, atmosphere and all the other dishes we had.
