A very nice church with beautiful views on a clear day that is unparalleled. The church has a very nice and spacious park outside that brings to mind old-timey movies as well. Keep in mind that there is a fee to go to the second floor of the church. The people who maintain the church are also very friendly.Small notches off for some of the people in the area outside the church who are friendly but, after some friendly chats, request for "donations" persistently. They werent threatening or anything, but it makes for some awkward moments, especially because they knew we were tourists. Given the fact that we were aware of the levels of economic difficulty of Cuba, it caused even more awkwardness. Didnt ruin the trip but something to note.

If you like pina coladas .. with a view of the mountains on one side and the town on the other .. this is the place to see in Cuba ..

Se puede subir sin mucho esfuerzo a pie. La vista sobre Matanzas y su bahía es muy bonita. La ermita en sí no tiene nada especial, salvo quizás su historia y pasado catalán.

The view is great from there, but we couldnt bother to go to another tourist attraction just to give even more CUC(local currency for foreignersso we didnt enter the church.

Es un lugar desde donde puedes tener una vista preciosa de Matanzas. Es fresco. La Ermita tiene su historia y el ascenso a tocar la campana vale bien la parada, pero lo mejor es la calma y fresco del frente de la Ermita, bajo los árboles.

I had a great time here. The view of the city of Matanzas is very beautiful, hard to find. The church have been through a restoration process and now looks very beautiful. Its simple but beautiful and magic at the same time. The staff working on the church was very nice. The explained to me some of the historic concept of this place, and show me the bell tower. This is a very special and magic place. They said if you make a wish and then ring the bell: your wish will come true. I loved this place. Matanzas is a very beautiful city and its people are really nice, kind and friendly.

This is a hidden gem. Most tourists will never see it.

Красивое место с панорамами на Матанзас и полями по другую сторону.В парке установлены 4 статуи в честь 4 провинций Каталонии. Но это уже не оригиналы, которые были разрушены ураганом, а уменьшенные копии.Подъём наверх стоит 1 CUC на двоих, можно позвонить в колокол, который висит на крыше.По словам экскурсовода, сюда приезжают поэты и музыканты Матанзаса, чтобы писать здесь свои произведения.

Excelente mirador , punto obligado para dominar la gran Atenas de américa: Matanzas, El templo es muy acogedor, estratégicamente construido desde donde se puede ver el gran valle del Yumuri, y su fenomenal tren eléctrico. excelente sitio que he visitado en el 2012 y 2015.

Beautiful view of the city. Beware of the locals here trying to make you pay for parking and taking pictures. Just laugh at them and say police, they will leave you alone.

Fue una experiencia magnífica y única, ver desde esa altura a toda la ciudad y la bahía de Matanzas.

The most beautiful place in the entire Matanzas city with beautiful views on both the city itself and the Yumuri river valley on the other side. The monastery is closed. Few mosquitos and a very chatty nightwatch might disturb the tranquility of this place.

Ya hace varios años que visite Matanzas por motivo de Paseo, fue una visita de un dia en la que me encontre con una poblacion muy bien situada y limpia, quede maravillado por las vistas desde el pequeños Cerro donde se ubica La Ermita de Monserrate, desde este Cerro puede ver con gran claridad el Valle de Yumuri y buena parte de la Ciudad de Matanzas. comprobe que es sencillo el Paseo por Matanzas por lo llano de sus Calles, Saludos afectuosos, Fernando.Alonso.
