Chaim Levanon St 2, Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel, Rosh Ha‘Ayin
Big indoor/outdoor museum with Israeli culture & history exhibits, a planetarium & a garden.
Not worth. Most of the buildings are closed so only few of the exibitions are available.
A very nice and architecturally interesting place. Interesting temporary exhibitions at Rotchild centre. Very good museum shop of wonderful design items. However I gave 4 stars as some of the exhibitions were closed and some buildings being renovated (which is needed). This made the orientation difficult because I was walking by the signs and used to bump into closed spaces and walking uselessly around. Also it was difficult to know which door to the building is the entrance door and the visitors always have to guess is this the right door to enter. The Folclore pavillon is almost impossible to find because of the construction work and no alternative way shown to it. Moreover it is time to change the Man and His Work Centre tittle because we live in an equal society and women also exist and existed in the past and worked (unpaid or underpaidas much as men.
It was a fun visit. More for adults, but with a proper approach kids enjoyed it as well. The staff was very supportive and the price for families is cheap - Kids go in free.
Amazing experience at the special Dia de los Muertos celebration at the museum.
Its always nice to visit this museum. Very Nostalgic. We visited the enchanting art exhibit which was very good but note it is short
visiting the Art of Enchantment exhibition with a lady guide. Very interesting exhibition and guiding.
Very odd exhibitions. Kind of expected this museum to celebrate all things to do with Israel and its history but it didn’t. It had exhibitions on the postal service, coins, pottery, farming implements and a travelling exhibition that I couldn’t quite figure out it’s connection to Israel. Quite a few of the exhibits were closed for renovation. Cheap entry price 15 shekels each.
This is my first time and it was wow! It is a must visit if you want to know what Israel look like before the great building. You could also check some biblical truths there like the story of Samson in the Bible.
Great place for outside events, not sure how worth the museum itself is.
Israel’s archaeological and cultural heritage museum
It is not worth the price of the tickets. Planetarium only open during Shabbat !
The exhibition needs a face lift, but still there are many interesting things to see here
Excellent exhibition: Enchanted Art.The coffee shop is also good - but need more waiters
Extremely disappointing and sad. The museum looks under construction for the most part and the parts that are not really do not compare to other places. Carpeted floors looks old and its just really potteries or coins standing without any kind of explanations whatsoever. An effort could really be made.
Amazing museum. Definitely worth visiting. The Museum consists of open-air and indoor parts (pavilions). There are so many exciting pavilions: Kadman Numismatic Pavilion, Alexander Museum of Postal history and Philately, Ceramics Pavilion, Glass Pavilion, Man and his work Pavilion, and more and more. No words are enough to express unforgettable impressions. I wish to visit the museum again and again. There is definitely a lot you can see, read and learn something new there.
Its a sweet smallish museum, spread out over a number of pavilions (so be prepared for walking outside). We found the exhibitions themselves to be very interesting though we felt the wall and showcase descriptions could be more informative. The place is clean, outside gardens hold interesting archaeology finds, there are several restrooms and a very nice gift shop. The planetarium was closed - apparently operates on weekends and for groups midweek. Its also very easily accessible by public transportation including the train.
Exhibitions turn into video exhibit. Little data next to the dusty/ abandoned exhibits. Didnt connect.
Great museum. Came when it was empty. Coin section was interesting.
Intense Field Hospital X! Very well done. I care. And I think everyone else should, too! I like the museum. Needs some kosher good options.
We had a creative, flavorful light lunch at the bar. Its a little hard to find, even with Google Maps. An English menu is available. And I dont believe that there was an outdoor sign identifying the restaurant.
Atmospheric museum with charming grounds. The permanent exhibitions are very good. I visited the Photomenta exhibition and was lucky to catch the guided tour. Later on there was a Greek singer who had everyone rocking, and a good food stall. Previously there was an evening featuring Tav Cafe and the evening was really magical. Often there are Cathedra lectures in the auditorium which is lovely too. Artsi cafe adjoining the museum shop is ambient and cozy with a pretty good menu. This is one of my two favourite museums in Tel Aviv, the other being the Tel Aviv Museum of Modern Art.
Will be writing in detail soon inThe Center of Inter-Religious Peace and the personal page
I have visited many museums in Israel but never been here. Some things were interesting but nothing stood out for me. If you have a free few hours and you have never been here then visit.
Amazing historical museum showing ancient living and artifacts from the land of Israel. High quality rotating modern art and photography galleries. Planetarium and Imax theater.
Nice and interesting exhibitions!Something for everyone. We came on a Friday and didnt have the time to see everything before closing time 14:00 (we came at 11), so there is plenty to see. There is a large gift shop and a café. We had coffee and lunch, the food and the coffee were good.
Start with the glass pavilion, which doesn’t look like much from the outside but is beautifully renovated inside. Then head to the ceramic pavilion and the new exhibit on Baron Rothschild. Not all the pavilions are open (a sign that they’re doing necessary renovationsbut still definitely worthwhile. The amount of artifacts and texts can be overwhelming, but those who are claiming there’s nothing to see here are way off. Finally, the cafe beside the ancient mosaics is lovely. You can order takeaway and they bring it to the tables on the grass...
Not kid friendly aside from the price. Very limited exhibits actually open to the publicStaff wants the place to run like a library...keep quiet and dont touch anything. Why let kids in at all...they are going to do just that...make noise and touch everything. Very disappointing. Not what I expected.
Museum contains historical exhibitions mixed with contemporary art. Historical exhibitions are pretty old, was renovated a long time ago. Many halls are closed. Outdoor area is nice, bit rusty. Planetarium is also closed. Not really worth time and money
Love the garden and the changing exhibitions.Great events like sunset beer and exhibition dialogue on important topics. They made a good change and I hope more and more young people will come and get exposed to art.
Good place to spend time with children when its hot outside. Not all exhibitions are opened, but we visited 4 which is more than enough.
Always a pleasure to enjoy the quiet tranquility, while refreshing your knowledge about the history, anthropology and arts of the region. And the connection of the Jewish people to this country and region for thousands of years. And the excellent gift shop retains its title.
Been to the TLV 2020 Biennale.A very impressive collection of contemporary art and design, exploring personal and social impact of modern life and consumerism on ourselves and on our environment.
Exhibits are housed in a number of separate buildings across the site, which makes for a less pleasant experience if the weather is poor. Its not ideal for those with mobility problems. There is good labelling and information in Hebrew and English. Overall, a bit disappointing.
Nice for a 3 hour outing with older kids.
Lots of unique artifacts and archaeological site.I especially liked the recreation of the 4 room house and public market, the first of either I had seen after 2.5 years in Israel, after visiting so many ruins.
For Archeology lovers I cant think about any other place where you can understand the name of the city Tel Aviv. Coming to the museum you may follow the instructions if the map you receive. Like that you will not get lost, or miss some of the buildings. I did the first time, trying to get first to the Tel Qasile. Fürst settled by the Philistines in the 12 cent. Which brings us to the story if the Exodus and the Hebrew Bible (OTbut it was only the beginning of a line if settlements. Four shrines, public buildings...It is hard to understand what belonged to what, and when. But is it really important. For me it is more that I walk through history. Biblical Archeology and...People lived here, build here and still building. The contrast cant be more amazing, looking over the ruins towards the New City Tel Aviv. The name comes from the book Old Land-New Land. Well here it is the old tell and the new City. Aviv in hebrew spring. A symbol for fresh, young, new.Wine press, olive press, flour mill, traditional work tools...all this we see all over the country on different places. But it is most not complete. So nice to see it in working condition to be able to understand archeological sites. Coins, postal service, some modern art.Enough information but not overwhelmed by to much.I like the place. Also that there is a need to step out of the building to reach the next place. If you have enough time, I think it is nice to visit the museum. Easy to reach with the public bus.
Huge, overpriced disappointment. This place should cost no more than 25 shekels, if that. Whilst the limited mosaics on site are lovely, one is covered by a gauze so you can’t even really see it. The various exhibit halls were pretty much all limited in value and interest. The archeological site was apparently closed which the woman at the till didn’t bother to tell us. The only valuable aspect was the international photo exhibition. Spent considerable time there.
Huge museum with several pavilions, squares, terraces. Love from first sight! We didnt have enough time, so we will definitely come back.Surely Eretz Israel Museum is worth you time and attention.
Nice place, some more information from people or voice guide would be nice, some exhibition is art installation...so it depends on your taste, wasnt mine. The archaeological site is definitely worth a visit, but would be nice if the paths get cleaned of that thorn bushes. The view on ancient buildings an the skyline is impressive!
nice exhibition great activity with kidsthe craft accessories were very poor any low quality (markers and crayons)the "foot court" was very poor as well but we did not come for that.signage was not clear and for disabled it is a long way to walk...the animal statues were nice and the story as well.
A bit disappointed about exhibitions, some of them are closed. The area is big but exhibitions occupy just small part of it. For 50% of the current ticket price I wouldnt complain.
Theres a new exhibition for kids (although at a late hour: opens only at 6:30 PM), called "Creatures of Midsummer Nights". Its ok.. nothing more than that. For a one time visit its recommended, but dont expect to much interaction or enjoyment.
A very diverse museum with several exhibits / collections helping better understand the history and culture of Israel. I recommend the Ethnography and folklore collection, with many artefacts from jewish religious tradition and history.
I went thinking I will spend an hour or so and ended up spending five. The different sections are separate and one moves around a lot, but that was fun too. History of Israel the land, but also excavations on site, numismatics, philately, pottery, and on and on. Highly recommended. Downside, didnt have time left to do other museums I was hoping to.
Always interesting to visit this museum! Theres a lot of things to see every time!
Museum was good. Coin building and glass buildings were excellent. The excavation of the Tel is in disrepair with signs falling off their posts. Rail cars are odd but interesting. The grounds are well maintained in some areas and poorly maintained elsewhere. The planetarium looks like it would have been cool but it was closed with no signs as to when or if it might open for a showing.
If you are looking for a quiet museum with nice exhibitions and some information about the history of israel and its beautiful cultures, this place is good for you. Also, the parking is nearby and in normal price.
Excellent. The museum has a variety of art. We eent to a very interesting itinerary exposition. (On the edge isreali paper Well explained, and marvelous works. The other expositions were also worth. We saw season of birds photographs , Joy birds, and Fire photographs.
was at the Exhebition of "Extreme situation -Israeli paper" מצבי קיצון נייר ישראלי it was an outstanding collection of artworks all made out of paper. the show that the musicianTahel klein performed was a mixture of electronic music and led lights a live visual art and she was amazing! u can see some of it at the pics attached. but I recommend you to check it out your self,Im sure u will enjoy.
Lovely museum. I like the changing exhibitions. Dont miss the glass section!
