Salad was mostly, and I do mean mostly, lettuce. Expensive lettuce!
We ate here Friday and Saturday night as we were staying at the hotel and just wanted to relax without driving around to other places. On Friday night they were empty and the food and service was great. On Saturday night the restraunt was about half full and this was a terrible experience. The weather was perfect so we sat outside. 2 couples and 2 toddlers. We were served water and our drinks right away. From that point we sat there for 2 hours and could only get 2 drinks and apps. At one point we had empty plates and empty drinks for 30 min. We mentioned this to the server and she said she was waiting on bartender and chef. Walked into bar and only 7 people were sitting and they all had drinks. The bartender was just talking. As for the chef they should be able to male multiple plates at once. Not one at a time. However, when the food did come out it was very good so that was nice. We did talk to the manager and he was extremely nice as well. He could be a little more constructive with his staff or he needs to speak to someone else higher up as it seems this has been happening lately according to other reviews and staff. They did offer to comp us but we refused as we are not looking for free food and drink. We would rather have them correct the issues they were having. This was our first time staying here and we would like to stay here again when we come back. Our busser was amazing. That guy kept our water glasses full the entire time and we drank a ton of water.
Very poor quality food for the price. Flat iron steak was undercooked & paired with cold green bean concoction, cold potatoes & tough cold chorizo. Burgers were both cooked to well instead of medium as ordered. Slow service.
Southwest inspired food done well in a cozy unpretentious upscale setting. A great price to pay for a nice dinner.
Nothing wrong, but nothing impressive. Overpriced. Almost any place that puts gold on chocolate is trying to hard to be fancy. Although the cornbread and the chocolate bar were both good.
For being an upscale restaurant you would expect them to have misters and a canopy on the patio but sadly no.The wind caused parts of the trees to fall in your plate as you were eating. The food is lack luster. The arugula salad was extremely overdressed and underwhelming. The Salmon was overcooked and under seasoned. Overall not great. Apparently the location is all that they have going for them.
Food was really fresh and delicious. We enjoyed our dinner Our server was great.
Great food, especially for vegetarian options!
Great lively atmosphere and freshest homers Italian food Ive had in a long time.
Excellent for happy hour (tranquilooutside in the shade.
It wasnt terrible but it definitely wasnt what Id expect from a resort. We ordered the ceviche which lacked flavor, my cauliflower tacos were decent and my husband said the tuna was flavorful although a little overcooked. All in all okay.
The food was average and so was the service. Dont waste the money.
Super over priced for Applebees quality food. Our server was great, very polite and pleasant but the good stuff stopped there. Ordered two cocktails then the bartender came over to up sell us, said no thanks, got the wrong drink and he made us the fancy drinks, found out on the bill. I ordered crispy cauliflower tacos, got cauliflower burnt to the point of being bitter on a store bought corn tortilla with store bought salsa. Green chili mac-n-cheese, no rue, just pasta alfrado with some hatched chili mixed in. My husbands veggi quesadilla was good. Will not be going back, save your money.
Most salty food ever.. the other two diners were good. They didnt even comp my salty meal.. sad 250 dollar dinner
Really really good food here. Great atmosphere and kind of hidden in the hotel. The staff was rather slow. Especially since we were there at 8:00 p.m. and there was only a few tables being used.
Came here just for coffees and dessert. It was night out and they had the heaters on outside with strings of lights hanging everywhere. Server was nice and desserts were delectable. They do have indoor dining available if you prefer. I would recommend to give this place a try.
Very accommodating to our large party. Excellent service with a delicious meal.
Wasnt sure what to expect, but had one of the best meals of my life. The free range chicken was amazing and the BBQ fries were probably the best fries Ive ever had. I couldnt stop eating them. Its a little spendy but the food is amazing. Worth it.
Order the avocado ahi tuna as an appetizer...a wedge salad and we split the scallops with a side of green chili mac-n-cheese...everything was very good, especially the scallops....they were cooked perfectly. Service was awesome too.
While staying at the resort, we decided to go to the restaurant for a light dinner, since we were not very hungry after a long day of hiking. We ordered chips and salsa with guacamole, which came quickly with our drinks. The guacamole had no flavor, I thought that I had covid because I couldnt taste it. But no, it indeed had no flavor for $4.50. We were then going to order soup and a small salad, but sat for over an hour waiting for someone to take our order. We decided, after seeing other people waiting over an hour for food that it was not worth the wait, so we left. We were going to have breakfast at the resort, but we wont now. Luckily I had a snickers bar in the hotel room for my dinner.
It took over 2 hours total to get through the meal, with multiple checkins to see how our food was coming along. We didnt even get our drinks until 30 minutes in and mightve gotten by on bread if they came to check on us and offer more then once in the first hour. In the end we canceled an entree. At one point we were brought a complimentary entree as an apology, but apparently this was intended for another table also experiencing issues. Im pretty certain our server wasnt feeling well and the other server was walking around in a boot. There was a busser and the bartender coming out to help and there appeared to be 3 cooks all to serve 5 tables with groups of 3 on average. The food was pretty good just definitely not worth wait given all the great restaurants in Tucson.
Average. We booked in advance and requested a specific table for our anniversary and it was not acknowledged or honored. Food was ok but service was lacking with the waitress openly admitting that she forgot about us. I would recommend travelling outside of the resort if you are looking for a special dining experience.
This was a first experience here. Although the property has majestic views and atmosphere, the restaurant menu fell alittle short of expectations with variety of appetizers, and menu choices for the resulting price. Would return to enjoy drinks and appetizers again sometime soon!
You just have to order dessert and share. The gold bar is decadent
The pasta and atmosphere was great but the service tanked the entire experience. It was understandable that items were unavailable due to them being sold out. The service given by our waitress was the catalyst that made the experience horrible. Almost asked for the other waitress that was attentive and personable at the neighboring tables. I couldve done with almost the entire menu being sold out and still enjoyed the ambiance if only we had better than subpar service.
Great food and drinks from here. Dining outside was a little bug-y, but not their fault. Delicious.
Enjoyed dinner overall: good food, comfortable setting, nice staff. However a very loud, crude party in the bar area spoiled this for us. Too bad. Staff should address this kind of behavior that ruins it for "well behaved" guests (which everyone should be).
While staying at the resort we had dinner here two nights in a row. Both nights our food was delicious and the service was great! The first night I had one of their summer salads with goat cheese and strawberries, and the second night I had the New York Steak cooked medium rare - they were delicious. We ordered the Gold Bar for dessert both nights - chocolate, peanut butter, gold leaf... so delicious. The restaurant overlooks the pool, grounds, and incredible mountains. Couldnt ask for a more beautiful location.
Great food in an amazing location. Joey B made our dining experience relaxing and enjoyable. I recommend the prickly pear fruit martini.
Crab stack was so fresh and tasted awesome. Would have given Sea Bass a 5 if the grits were seasoned...had to go find server for salt
Manager Chris Allen was rude and we were overcharged for incorrectly served food. I have been coming to this resort for over 10 years. This year it feels like Chris wanted to make sure we felt like we never wanted to come back...
We dined at Epazote on a Saturday night. We ate outside and the scene was pleasant and the outdoor dining area was not very crowded. We ordered a bottle of wine, appetizers, and entrees. Our appetizers were the best part of the entire meal. The crab and avocado tower was delicious, light, and a very fresh combo of crab and avocado. The duck confit quesadilla had a wonderful mix of shredded duck and a blend of Mexican cheeses. The accompanying mango salsa was the perfect addition atop the quesadilla. For the entrees, the salmon was a major disappointment. The kitchen severely charred the salmon and it was over cooked. Worse yet, the kitchen hid the charred fish with the vegetables. The Poblano Relleno was a good dish overall, but there is no cheese in this interpretation of a relleno. Just remember this if you order it. Serving sizes for all dishes are generous. The wine was (of coursetasty. This is a good restaurant, but they need to pay more attention to detail. The service also needs improvement with an attempt to show they care and provide a more elevated experience for the diners.
The service started out with a bottle of wine gone bad and a server that was clueless. Then Joey came and corrected the wine with a new bottle and proper wine glasses. The food was very good and rest of the meal was enjoyable.
We had a terrible experience. We ordered food and waited for almost 1 hour. When we got our food, it was cold. The food was bland and tasteless. Avoid this place, we dont recommend it.
Our second vist to this resort. The duck quesadilla is very tasty, the pork tenderloin was great. The resort is short staffed but the staff they do have is doing a great job.
So disappointing. The resort is wonderful. But the restaurant is not up to part. We waited an hour for our food. The restaurant was either unstaffed or completely disorganized. It took 40 minutes for my husbands soda to arrive! When the food came, it was very soso. My pork was good, but the green chili Mac and cheese side was tasteless. The jicama slaw was a few slices of jicama and radish, but without any dressing. It wasnt worth the wait.
Ask that the hamburger be cooked medium rare. However, it was served very well done and cold, too. One of the worst hamburgers I have ever ate. One redeeming thing was the server was good.
Had the duck quesadilla, the EZ Burger, the Seared Salmon, and the calabacitas pasta. Very good service! Originally we tried sitting outside but moved in soon after. They brought blankets out to those who stayed! The food was really good!
I highly recommend this restaurant!!! The service was excellent and the staff are amazing, I cannot remember everyone, but here are the names of those that I do:The manager Chris Allen and the three servers: JK, Danielle and Lara Thank you for the delicious food.
Fabulous service, beautiful view. Was ablw to reserve a table for my birthday dinner. Sat outside, majestic view of the mountains! Brought me a complimentary deep fried icecream for my birthday.
This is a resort restaurant, so the prices are a little high. I had heard some negative reviews of the place, but we had a good experience. Great views, reasonable wine list, and our tacos and salad were tasty. Service was good but the show stopper were the jalapeño muffins served in the bread basket!
The Filet mignon was delicious. The Paella had a lot of delicious seafood in it. The hotel staff were super friendly. The cornbread appetizer was also wonderful. The setting and ambience is really nice too.
Convention center hotel food and prices. Not bad, but not especially good either. Once we got into their system the service was pretty good.2 drinks, 2 appetizers, 66 bucks. Beautiful views.
We had an absolutely fabulous dinner with wonderful service highly recommend this place any time you are in the area. We loved it so much were going to book another quick vacation so we can eat here again!
I work in the Resort and have tasted the food from Epazote and it is uniquely southwest. The cooks are very experienced and good at what they do. Highly recommended.
Pretty standard hotel dining experience, trying to pass itself off as fancy fare / fine dining. In truth, the food was pretty bland and generic, although the staff seemed friendly enough.
Great atmosphere, our server was awesome. She made us feel like we were here favorite customers, but she had never met us, before this visit
Average, no wow factor. As a foodie from Chicago, i was not impressed. For what you pay, and the setting it is in, it should be much better. The octopus was bland, the crab tower was okay and the tuna was nothing special. At $50 bucks a person, i expected more.
We reviewed the online menu and liked both the prices and the food selection. To our astonishment, once we were seated and looked at the menu we saw that the prices were almost TWICE as much as the online menu. I spoke to the manager and he said they have been trying to fix this for over THREE months. Meanwhile they get people like us that do not want to spend $20 on a burger to walk in, take a seat and then get hit with one of the most expensive menus in the Tucson area. We got up and left.
Good food, good service and the place is amazing. The prices were fair.
