Love the park...Park... have to be littler careful with the pickpocket
Interesting place to visit. Lots of pigeons, you can buy corn and feed them. It can be fun. Downside the restaurant workers bombard you to come eat at there spot. People out there keep hassling you for money too.
Its much more a transiting open park for retailers going through Avenida Duarte con Paris for purchasing purpose ...
Very gorgeous place
This has too many people walking around the ask for money.. like women
I liked the park, specially because there are some book stands there. Ive got a nice book.
Too many beggars in this park. Please do something for them
Dangerous place, move around quickly, and respond to no calls while you are there.
Really convenient place to take a break after youve been working up and down in Duarte area. Quite crowdy though but the buch of trees and the shadow they provide make the atmosphere very cool
Its a nice place to talk and take the sun in the morning.
A bit gritty... worth a visit if you want to see real SD life unfold, in contrast to Zona Colonial
Even you think that this places is not savety for family, there are many changes that you can see.
It is a nice park but it is not in the safest part of town . if you go, beware of your surroundings . also you will get a lot of beggars and people trying to sell you things . around enriquillo Park thats where a lot of the interprovincial bus stations are, so you will need to go there eventually , if you want to catch a bus to another province in Dominican Republic.
This is an hold park in the Dominican republic in a big market call Duarte, little bit calm
Kinda crowded and busy streets most of the times , but a different place to share some local food and stuff
Safe place, you can cordero things from there of you dont wanna go deep in the city
Theres a lot of people here, one of the most transited areas in Santo Domingo. A lot of homeless people sleeping on the benches, nothing here to see.
Place is beutiful is good to eat an ice cream and take a break while you are shopping
I give it 5stars..because if your not from here you can see a total 3rd world experience..go during the day...possibly unsafe at nite.
Because here we where able to preach the word of God and bring closer to him those in need. porque aqui podemos predicar la palabra que trae al alma herida a Dios
Its on a very crowded location but the place is all dirt and sketchy people Wich could all be fixed if the district actually cared
The best park to go seat down to relax or take your kids to play, safe to walk, and shopping in the area.
Nice commuting portion of the city, but must be careful with some acquaintances especially during rush hours... Too much people, good and bad ones mixed up.
Nice place to chill with the normal people. Daytime only, watch your pockets, and enjoy.
Nice but a lot of people, you get to see a lot of shops, public transportation
for those who do not know why this park is worn this name, read with great attention, It is unfortunate that such a beautiful place with fabulous design is abandoned by the authorities, dirty, street vendors, garbage everywhere ect ... Enriquillo was the nickname of a cacique Taíno who had rebelled against the Spaniards; The Indians called him Guarocuya or Huarocuya, while his Spanish name was Enrique Bejo. He was born on the shores of Lake Jaragua (now Lake Enriquilloand was part of the royal family of Jaragua, his aunt Anacaona was Queen of Jaragua and his father Magiocatex, heir to the Prince of Bahoruco. His father died in a Spanish raid against a peaceful demonstration of indigenous people in Jaragua and the orphan was raised in a monastery in the current capital of the Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo. Bartolome de Las Casas was one of his mentors; was entrusted to Don Francisco de Valenzuela, after the death of his son, Andrés de Valenzuela. His rebellion or guerrilla warfare covered a period between 1519 and 1533.Most historians agree that Enriquillo and Cacique Guarocuya were the same person (see Sued Badillo). In such a case, Enriquillo belonged to the high aristocracy of the Jaragua chiefdom. Guarocuya was the nephew of Anacaona, sister of the Jaragua Bohechío caragua and of his eventual successor when Bohechío was killed. Anacaona was married to Caonabo who was the cacique of the neighboring kingdom of Maguana. A minority of historians disagree that Guarocuya was captured and hanged, while Enriquillo triumphed during his uprising. Most historians believe that the two rebels were the same person and that the information on the death of Guarocuyails is identical to the most verifiable versions of the death of Anacaona. This offers the possibility that the stories have been confused. It was also documented that Enriquillo was married to Metis Mencía, granddaughter of Anacaona.
Many busses there going mainly to the eastern part of the Dominican Republic, but you have to be careful in the area. It is not so safe and more complicated during the night. You can but always being aware of pickpockets and burglars.
Very Loud😡😠...there are tons of crazy and weird people bumping with eachother and its dangerous for the ladies if they walking by themselves....Hide your jewelry, phones and purse all the time and always try to get out of there fast 😄😅
Great place there is everything you need from restaurants to all type of store. I personally liked it. The only thing is you have to be careful about your belongings.
Crowdy place, within the range of many bus stops to the provinces of the Dominican Republic. Be careful at all times about your belongnings pick pocketery is ussual
Chaotic and intimidating, but its the major transportation hub for all points east of Santo Domingo, as well as Samaná and Baní. Keep an eye on your bags and pockets.
Nice and clean park but only 3 star because i dont recommend it to go.. the surrounding isnt a place to newcomers, you can see everything around there.. becareful..
Its an iconic place, but it is more of a throughway and not a place of pleasure. For that purpose, there are plenty of other parks in the country. Parque Enriquillo is not the cleanest park or place in the city. This is the spot where locals take inter-province busses, for example to La Romana, Jarabacoa, or even nearby San Cristobal.
There is no safety there: junkies, beggars, and people pickpockets. It is also very noisy.
Its a wonderful time where you could enjoy nature plus a nice environment, mostly very crowded.
There is much poverty in RD. There is a public park but lots of people here with little or no money. People can be friendly here. But also desperate. Lots of rubbish but many police in area. Tourists will find lots of discount stores but daytime only. Many buses from here
Its pretty but it has lots of shops nearly so there are also lots of people selling. And working and thats not the right ambient needed for recreation in the park
