Enrique Tomás JAMON-TAPAS-VINO in Padilla
Description
Privilege
Eated here several times, 4 years ago. It was always great! Expect it will reopen soon!
MoreThis location is closed because of Brexit? Lies, you didn’t survive the pandemic due to poor planning.
MoreOn 26th, Dec we visited Enrique Tomas at Soho, bought four baguettes with serrano ham for 3,50 approx each. Two of them were good quality and the ham tasted nice, however the other two had a ham that tasted weird, had a hard texture and color, and made one of us sick. If you go to this place be sure you ask for a recently made serrano baguette.
MoreAndres saw me dribbling at the sight of the amazing product and what a talent to get me to come in , try and buy! Now this is a team player working for both the establishment and the customer! A 6 star actually!
MoreBest jamon ever... Also the queso manchego yummy!I have also seen a really goood paella which smelled like heaven... So next time! The service was super good, the bartenders treat you as if they were the owners of that place...so with a lot of love 😬
MoreThe ham was ok but not good. Sorry I tasted much better one in Amstetdam.
Had a lovely quick lunch there the other day. Friendly staff, clean and great varieties of Jamón.
MoreI was here a couple of times. Love it! Large selection of Jamon. Really good food for honest price.
MoreIf your serious about your Spanish meats then this is the place to go, great selection and reasonably priced.
MoreAn Italian Style Bistro Bar . Fresh Colorful Food With Nice Italian Environment . Delicious . Recommended .
MoreLove the place, authentic iberico ham at various prices. Large selection of Spanish cold cuts.a very friendly staff. Very yummy.
MoreGreat place for Spanish jamon. Nice sandwiches and wines.
I’ve been here a couple of times. The staff is amazing. Super friendly and informative when it comes to explain the different types of Jamon. Super recommended.
MoreGreatest little shop! With great food after a long walk. A great watering hole. Not the coziest, but great lunch.
MoreGorgeous food, great staff and venue. A brilliant find.
The jamon Ibirica sandwich was delicious. The staff very informative about the types of jamon.
MoreVery teasty sandwich with Spanish ham
Paella was okay. Not delicious but okay. Spanish omelette better not to try - bitter taste of olive oil killed all other tastes. The best part of the meal was cerveza.
Morelove the cones of ham! got the £5.50 one, it was delicious
I came here as part of the Eating Europe "Evening Food Tour of Soho" and had a small platter of various cured hams and cheeses. Everything was fantastic, and I look forward to coming back.
MoreThe ham is great. The service is on par with service youd expect in London so thats fine. I wish they were in New York.
MoreFriendly staff, expensive food and service charge. Quality of food is OK.
Good meat! Also got some cheap eats selection just when you are graving for some.Excellent service and good meat overall. Got some mixed ones for £4.5 and that was a good deal.
MoreI never why people in here complain about the prices?! Quality jamon was never cheap. And luckily this is the place to treat myself with some extremely good jamon. Cant have enough of it. And lets be honest, prices reflect the quality and the location of the shop. Im pretty happy that this kind of places do exist in central London.
MoreStill good but they dramatically reduced the jamon amount
Is a baguette filled with ham worth paying £8.80 for? Unfortunately, the pricing in the window display proved to be inaccurate. By the time I came to pay, the cost had risen by more than £3. Still, I decided in that moment to take the plunge and figured it must be incredibly good to warrant that kind of price tag. My verdict, however, is that a baguette filled with ham will always be a baguette filled with ham. Indeed, it was very very nice ham, but by the time you reach £5.40 - a.k.a. the sum I was led to believe I’d be paying, and what ought to be the pricing threshold for this particular product class - the rules of diminishing returns apply. By my own admission what I really paid for was swerving an awkward confrontation with the cashier. I cannot envisage a scenario in which I would ever again pay £8.80, willingly, for a sandwich. Not by the hairs of my chinny chin chin.
MoreOver promise, under deliver. Would give 0 star if there is that option.Staff convinced us to get this £850 leg, said they could cut, vacuum packed, and pack nicely for us in 2 hours. We will get 3-4kg of meat. We thought we can bring it home for gifts, and paid for it.That was 3.30pm. We went back at 7pm. It was probably half done. Waited. 8pm, still not done. By 8.15pm we were getting angry because we had somewhere to be before 8.45pm and we are leaving for home the next day. The person who cut saw our faces and started cutting huge chunks of meat instead of slicing it. I understand the end part is to cube the meat, but this is more than usual. Finally done around 8.30pm. Still had to wait for him to finish vacuum packing them because God knows why they cant get another person to vacuum them!!Finally when done, we asked him to weigh it and it was 2.9kg. Dude what happened to 3-4kg?? When confronted he took 1 extra packet from the counter and said this is yours too.Well i have no idea how many packets were gone before we got there!!Never trust them!! Buy only what u see.Never going back here again.
MoreExcellent original Spanish food. Ham and cheese from an amazing quality. The Paella was great and the price is fair. Very good service and clean place. Very much recommended.
MoreI love this place. It might seem a little expensive, but the quality of the ham is very high and its 100 times better than the one you can find in the supermarket. The staff is friendly.
MoreVisited this wonderful place today with my daughter as she loves Jamon so much. Staff friendly and helpful. Beautiful meal, thanks 👍👍
MoreAbsolutely loving this place everytime Im there!! Ham is a total blast every single one of them I usually go for 3 plates of each with cheese and 3 bottles of wine per session.. always a recipe for an unforgettable night!
MoreThe cured meat is our of this world..
I bought some of the cone cubes, very disappointing - chewy and sinewy. Id suggest one of the sandwiches instead, they look like theyd be better.
MoreFirst off, they serve amazing ham. They offer several different types of ham and serve them in slices, sandwiches, and chunks. While the store specializes in ham, they also have a restaurant in the back. The food is pricy, however. The staff is really nice, although there is usually a line. They also play really nice Spanish music.
MoreCant comment on the quality of the produce as it was shut at midday on a wednesday having headed over here to buy hams for a dinner party. No sign, nothing. Chatted with HQ and all they could manage was to say they were trying to get in contact with the manager. Pretty amateurish. Didnt just lose me as a customer but also Slaven Bilic as he too was puzzling why no-one was there
MoreAlways wanted try this place, was so excited but this excitement didnt last too long once I walked in and after trying out for the first time few days ago, I will certainly not return to this place again.First of all, as soon as I walked in the staff try to sell me the most expensiveJamon. When I asked if there was less mature & a little cheaper? He immediately changed his vibe from overly friendly to sour face and told me , the cheap one is not very good. Im wondering then, why are you selling something that you think its not very good and saying that to the customer?Clearly thats not the real reason.Cheapest one was 6.10£ for 100g and it tasted pretty good. And affordable.4 years old mature jamon came to £25 for 100gNot everyone likes the flavours of mature jamon nor can afford £25 for 100gInstead of really trying to find out about what customer wanted and educate correctly they were really pushy to sell the expensive one. No class wsr.On top of this he tried to sell me the jamon album.its really over priced & its a ripoff. But mainly its their etiquette. They havent got one. And I value etiquette.
MoreGood place to get jamon if you cant get a trip to Spain in your schedule. Its not perfect, but the jamon is … jamon-y and tastes about right. They have lots of little snacks and takeaway foods that are pretty good.
MoreThey taunted me with meat as I walked out of an all vegan establishment. Disturbing and malicious.
MoreNice place for a snack. I especially like the jamon cubes in a cone.
Bought 100g of Iberico bellota Jamon for my Spanish friend. Star 2 is what my Spanish friend said out of 5. not much fat, had quite lots of blackish meat.
MoreAbsolutely fantastic, best ham I have ever had and I will continue to return for the foreseeable future.
MoreMy wife went in there today to get some Iberico ham for Xmas. The lady serving wasnt qualified to carve the ham, so tried to sell the pre packed range. The person responsible for carving the ham looked at my wife and said he was "busy" and to come back in ten minutes. My wife felt he was dismissive and rude towards her and the poor girl behind the counter. Just what you need at Xmas, plus the shop was empty. Will not be going back. Gutted.
MoreBought a jamon for £149 - only fat. Can not slice any meat from it. Money wasted.
MoreVery friendly staff. I like the concept of selling jamon in a cone - nice low-carb snack. They have a seating area too where you can order jamon and cheese platters, along with some wine. Gets surprisingly expensive pretty quickly!
Moreham tasted good.but not amazing.staff are not nice at all.i had MUCH better ham and good atmosptere at kings road Casa Manolo.very good tapas and sandwich spanish ham.if you are in center just dont go to enrique tomas.!!!!! i gave one star ,,just becourse
MoreOur first day in London and we happened to walk by and decided to stop in and get a couple of sandwich so for the afternoon and Mark was great!!!! He told us about the pork and the difference between them and gave us a sample of different kinds. We stayed for 30 minutes talking and bought some things for later. Was a great experience! Try this place out!
MoreSpanish deli and snack bar Enrique Tomas does mainly one thing, Iberico Jamón, and they do it pretty well. This is where you can get one of he best boccadillos - basically a ham sandwich - in London.Enrique Tomas is a deli and restaurant or cafe specialising in Spanish Iberico Jamón - basically high-quality ham. The company is kind of big in Barcelona and Madrid and it seems like they are expanding across Spain. And they opened their first shop outside of Spain in Soho, by now they have added a second branch in Covent Garden. On my first visit, I decided to sit down at the back. The restaurant bit in the back was dominated by red and black. A clean design, but I thought it perhaps comes across as a bit cheap. Maybe this is just my perception after being spoilt by the many beautiful London coffee shops. Most of the menu is Iberico ham on bread, if you like with cheese. Simple, yet delicious. When eating in, I had a flat bread called "coca" with Iberico de Bellota and melted cheese. The ham tasted great and the dish was a delight - not too big and not too small. I was a bit disappointed that they do not serve tap water when you stay in. Guess it shows that it probably is more a take-away place and deli.Next time I went there, I simply picked up a sandwich for take-away. By the time, I had visited Barcelona and there I was eating lovely bocadillos all the time. So after that experience, I looked at Enrique Tomas with different eyes and valued the quality even more. And I understood that really, theres no need to toast the bread, add cheese or heat up the ham. The thin slices taste just as delicious, if not better, without cheese and without warming them up.While the eat-in end at Enrique Tomas might visually not be the most appealing room, the products are unquestionably delicious and better than almost anything you could get on a sandwich in London almost anywhere. As with everything, good quality has a price, but I am happy to pay a bit more if it tastes that good. And because you can choose between different qualities, you do not always have to go for the best and still have a great sandwich.
MoreThe staff is extremely friendly and professional, the Iberian ham is of the highest quality and the price is really good compared with other ham retailers. The best place to go if you wish to have the Iberian Ham Experience in London, superb taste!
MoreAmazing value for money. Beer is £2.30!The staff are very friendly and the Spanish omelette is the best Ive ever had. There is a large selection of Jamon. Love this place.
MoreFantastic flavours but then again I love love love Iberico jamon so perhaps Im biased!!!Eating in isnt something that makes this place stand out since theres only a couple of tables and the setting is quite basic (almost garden furniture plastic type setting). I had the selection of the 4best jamon which was delicious. It would have been nice if the staff had spent the time to explain which cuts were in each corner of the plate. They were all great but had we had more information then wed have probably picked up some additional cuts to put in some croissants to start the next day. The red wines are predominantly riojas. Not my cup of tea but they compliment the flavours. Only other red is a tempreinillo/cabrinet savignon. Some white wines and cava if you feel inclined. The chips (crispsare great. Not overly seasoned and they are cooked in a tasty oil. I also had a molleta with the lomo cut but the bread was somewhat burnt. If Id not already been full on what Id ordered then I might have been disappointed but was happy enough taking the top off and scoffing the rest.Glad to see some competition for Brindisa who were previously my go to in borough market for a beautiful cut of jamon.
