Possibly the best Italian restaurant weve eaten in (in the UK service was excellent and ambience perfect.

A very average Italian at high prices. Plus: service patchy, tables crammed in, too many people left waiting queuing by the door. Our table was in the middle downstairs and there was no option but for all staff and customers to squeeze past us, stepping on coats/knocking them on the floor. It was cramped and noisy and the food was really unremarkable and unusually bland. Sent back some “roasted veg” - three florets of almost raw broccoli, three cauliflower, three asparagus and some boiled potatoes.We had to leave before dessert as the experience was hugely unpleasant.

We were on holiday in York. We passed by one evening and it was so busy we took that as a good sign and booked for the following evening. We were not disappointed the food was amazing!!The young guy who served us was polite and engaging without being in your face apologies for not getting his name ( trendy topknotlol . I rarely write reviews but this restaurant certainly deserves the good reviews 👌

We had a delicious night at Enoteca. The food was brilliant, the team were ace and the setting was fantastic. Absolutely recommend, make sure you go there hungry!!

Best Gluten Free pizza I have had, was Delish, the chef makes his own gluten free dough for the pizza and its fantastic👍 The staff were absolutely lovely, top notch guys, thank you ☺️

This is a lovely enoteca with a friendly staff and good food.The menu is pretty varied and has Italian food from different regions of Italy. The wine list is good. In general it was a great meal, but maybe I expected it to be even better given the prices.I had the truffle ravioli and it was pretty delicious.

Whilst the service was great I found the food to be ok. The chutney with my starter was very sweet and all over it so difficult to avoid . I had a carbonara for main which was a very English carbonara, very heavy on the cream and heavy to eat, nothing like a true carbonara. Nobody asked how our meal was if so I would have pointed it out. The malbec we had was nice. My friend had the belly pork and though slow cooked was basically just fat in the middle that hadnt rendered and was just gelatinous.

This was a return visit. We went shortly after lockdown, and it was so good we went twice! Waitress was lovely. Staff was attentive. This new version is commercial and not much better than a spag bowl, at home. Diners were rammed in. People were queued right next to our table, for several minutes. Its a small place, but this helped to ruin our experience. Apparently, one of the employees took it over from the original owner. He bragged to someone they had only been open two and half months and they were super busy. Only because they let people queue off the street. No way my fish was cooked to order. Even my husbands pasta was mush. Cross it off the list.

Very nice Italian restaurant in York. It’s a family business so it’s always nice to contribute and eat in places like this. The food was excellent. Lots of choice on the menu. The waiters, waitresses and the owner were all lovely. My only tiny advice is that I would use seasoning for the side salads as they could be a bit bland. But there are not the starts of the menu, so it’s just an observation. Other than that, we would totally come back.

I had to check we were at the right restaurant as our experience differed so much from other reviews. Very average food, decent but nothing to shout about. Wines okay and only a few from Italy, would have expected much more. Service attentive from the young lad serving. Price decent.

Awesome authentic Italian restaurant visited last night very welcoming the staff always ensure you are looked after the food was amazing just what to expect from coming from an italian family I highly recommend visiting this lovely place.

Was visiting York to attend the racing and came across this little gem. They have a 2 or 3 course set menu which makes it very good value and the calamari was excellent. Every dish we had was of a high standard and Idriss who served us made us feel very welcome and was very attentive to our every need would highly recommend a visit if in town. I definitely will be coming back when I next visit York.

Fantastic food today and were able to cater for our families allergies. Very good value and tasty food. Great environment relaxed and friendly. Even though the lady was very busy she always had a smile and juggled her duties extremely well.Many thanks for a lovely meal and enjoyable visit to the restaurant 😊

Wow, the food and service was excellent, strongly recommend you visit this restaurant if in York, but would suggest pre booking. I will definitely be going back.

Walked in off the street and did not know what to expect. What a fab Italian. The calzone was absolutely delicious and full of flavour. Hubby had the cannelloni and said the same. Staff attentive and really friendly will absolutely be back!

Ran out of pizza bases about 8pm! But apart from that very good grub. Excellent range of wines. First class desserts.

Great spot for people watching on a weekend if you can cop a window seat, and the service, food and wine was very good on our visit.

Not the best value or experience. We sat downstairs and it was freezing cold. The waitresses were uninterested in checking on us and rushed us out to get our table back even though there were other free tables. The food portion sizes were small for the price. Decor nice but atmosphere lacking. Wont be back :(

Just had an absolutely amazing meal here. Food was delicious and very authentic. A real cosy Italian restaurant that I would thoroughly recommend. Everyone was very friendly without being over the top. Can’t wait to come back . Thanks everyone. Nadine and Patrick Lees.

Mixed food experience. Parmigiano, Tiramasu and bruschetta very good. Fried courgette flower was chewy and not up to the mark. Main meal of Porchetta was very disappointing. Wines good but by having by the glass very expensive compared to bottle price. Service efficient and attentive but not really engaging. Total bill for 3 courses and wine £100 for 2 and not good enough for that cost. Regret dont think will come again unless for simple pizza and bottle of wine.

This is by far one of the best authentic Italian restaurants I’ve ever been too. Brilliant owners, attentive staff and delicious food! Best Italian wine list I’ve see in a long time. Will be back every time we come to York now! Gorgeous place for a date night, intimate and cosy

Cute and cosy place to eat, we ordered the ragu and was very happy, delicious!Happy and polite staff, happy to explain the specials in more detail for me as I dont usually visit italian restaurants until recently, (now there my favouriteif we are in york again we will definitely return for another visit 😊Picture added of my ragu, presentation was much better, I had already eaten some by the time I took the picture!

Ok, what a great experience. Food was as near as Italy you are going to get in York. Superb quality and service was probably the best we have had for years.....If you want typical rustic Italian food, not Pizza and Pasta, but true cuisine, then this is a must. The staff are exceptional and very open and honest on their choosen subject, yes Italian wine....OMG do they have a selection. Well worth a visit, leave the car keys at home and sample their ample Italian wines and fine food. I had Tuna, of which was fantastic, the best since Rome in 2008, my daughters birthday.

Restaurant serving amazing, authentic Italian food. We chose the ossobucco and a special of saffron rice with lobster, both were superb. I asked for a glass of dry white wine and was very impressed that two bottles were brought to the table to try. The puddings were decent though not as good as the mains, but overall it was fantastic.
