En La Fonda, Panamá - Creole restaurant in Panama City, Panama
Amazing just amazing decor. If you looking for a great restaurant for cute pictures in panama city this is the spot. Live music and dancers all over but you’re paying for that. Normal food nothing out of the ordinary . Pricey menu. Overall pricey restaurant with a cute decor.
Huge disappointment. THIS IS NOT A SCHEDULED PERFORMANCE RESTAURANT - AS IN THERE IS NO DANCE AT A CERTAIN TIME LIKE A DINNER AND SHOW TYPE DEAL. Im not sure if it is the restaurant or my hotel or the communication between, but we came for a visit and experienced none of the dancing or excitement this establishment promises. Spent way too much on just okay food, hoping for a performance in the meantime. I urge you to check with the restaurant or wait until later in the day to visit. Staff is friendly (but not English speakers if you need that).
Excellent service and attention!. However I ordered the famous "saus" and I was very disappointed of how extremely hard it was, have eaten it before in different places in Panamá, and this restaurant made it very unpleasant to enjoyed it. For the rest of the food, it was very good!
If you want an authentic Panama dinner and cultural experience then come here for dinner! Food is great and the entertainment is spot on.
Great food and good show.
My fish taco were TERRIBLE‼️ This was my first visit and last visit. Not worth the money. I threw my entire meal away. For that I couldve given my money to a homeless person🤷🏽♀️
This restaurant was perfect, the host Saul and the hostess were both amazingDefinitely worth visiting, the food and drinks were also 💯
An incredibile experience of a panama dinner. We arrived at 7pm and the restaurant was full, but the maitre found a table in 30 min. The food is really good and traditional, and show (dance, songreally took us in the real panama! The maitre was really friendly and smiley, Saul explain us the story of the restaurant and the show guys were immersive!
The attention was amazing and the live show teach so much, they even has costumes for the visitors and teach you the dance, this made my cousins that came from NY very close to the culture! And of course the food never disappoint is VERY GOOD! And the portions are big enough to share with your friends, great place to take tourist at fair prices.
On a school trip I went to En la Fonda for lunch! The owner was there and told us her full backstory and the story behind the name “La Fonda”! The whole restaurant was kind and caring, but the owner was just a ray of sunshine! On s side note, the food was AMAZING! All homemade food, with good ingredients! Definitely visit En la Fonda!
Food was authentic and delicious. Server was friendly and patient with our party of non-Spanish speakers. The owner came over to introduce herself which I loved❤️.
Most authentic Panamanian cuisine and decor...must come here to eat!!!
The food it was great I love it something Im going to take with me to United States I recommend to anybody who come to Panama this restaurant La Fonda
Panamanian owned, excelente food, show and most of all cultural
Had dinner there and the food was really good, staff was super friendly and the place was clean. Ambience was amazing and not to mention the night time performances.Very lovely place to have dinner and get to taste the authentic Panamanian cuisine.Viva Panama!
Great Atmosphere, Food and Staff! Larry M. USA
This is a very clean, friendly and safe place. Super authentic PANAMANIAN cuisine. The place is decorated with different theams of panama.
Great place for a taste of Panama. Great food and atmosphere!
Great food, a lot of History and quality food. Love this place!!!
Great authentic local cuisine topped with a narration of Panamas history! It was indeed an experience.
Tried more (newPanamanian food that included an appetizers sampler. All were pretty good-except the fried porkrinds,, but I never liked them to begin with.Carne on a stick, and a pork with fried plantain, peas & rice dishes... The dancers/entertainers were colorful & energetic with good patron participatWouldve enjoyed more of they were bilingual..sometimes. Booked thru Expedia w/no problem. However, our requested hotel pickup never showed. I would like to return to that lil hub again & visit some of the other businesses. Btw if youre 55yrs or older, be sure to ask for your "senior" discount. Stay Safe 😷 DIVA
We were taken to En La Fonda by some Panamanian friends. The food was authentic (according to our friendsand the experience was a really good time. They had live music and traditional Panamanian dancing with audience participation. I would definitely recommend En La Fonda to anyone looking for a Panamanian experience.
Food was regular but the excitement of the people with a local band made up for it
I am a foodie and En La Fonda delivered!!! My sister recommended it to me and my nice Jennifer from "Mi Concierge Online" miconciergeonline.com recommended it to her! So 😊 glad!!! I made it to En La Fonda during my last visit to Panama. I felt like the quality of the dishes was awesome 😎. I felt as if they put effort into getting the ingredients for their dishes from the right sources 🚚 and they have knowledge of the nature of the dishes; the Why they were created, the How they were made and you can taste all of that effort when you put each bite in your mouth 👍🏽 The Food is 😋 delicious! I had the opportunity to meet the owner Poulett⭐✴️✳️, she is sweet, welcoming, fun and very very connected to everything she does! Im amazed at her creativity and talents!!! Her taste is exquisite and its reflected throughout En La Fonda experience and at her Boutique!!! I stopped there first and almost stayed! Shes the model for the super chic fashions and she rocks!!! The clothing was trendy and upscale. I have had so many compliments on the outfits I purchased at La Farfalla "DHD Boutique" and would like to buy more of her amazing must have clothing.👑After my first visit and after meeting Poulett, the owner and enjoying the Sancocho, Pescado frito con Patacones, Yuquita frita los Super cocktails con Saril, I was dying to have Saril! 🍹I made reservations and took my whole family 🙏🏽for an Amazing Night at En La Fonda. 💎 The food, drinks "Cubetazos", Panama experience Decor, the Team was exceptional☝️🤩☝️, concerned about keeping us satisfied at every level, courteous and kind just as Poulett!!! We danced and we ate and also watched and were part of the Folkloric presentation. It was a ⭐✴️✳️magical ⭐✴️✳️Experience at 🌄En La Fonda.🌄 Muchisimas Gracias a todos EN LA FONDA! ☝️❤️🙏🏽🌄 Hasta la proxima!🌹
Nice family place, music, great food, lots of space.
It ia a great place to eat and have fun the entertainment the service we did have the opportunity to meed the owner she was very nice i recommend this place to everyone
Great sancocho for $2.50.BarBQ chicken for $2.50. Also sells salad with ham.
Gave it 4 stars because there is always room for improvement! This place is the real rep of panamanian cuisine. Decor and live show (includedtakes it over the top! Great experience! Its a MUST!
A party atmosphere all the way around! Loved the wings in tamarind sauce!
Very amazing fish dishes, great evening show with Carabean flare. Very enjoyable!
Very good local panama food. Great taste, wonderfull service, very great and kindly staff….. a must go and do in panama….. highly recommended and will be back for sure.
Update 2021: terrible service. We waited forever to get our food... and there were only 3 tables seated!!!Good place for Panama food. Prices were reasonable for the area. To park: be sure to turn left BEFORE the restaurant and go up a ramp. There is valet parking. The music is very loud, its difficult to talk and the place is tiny and a little cramped. The decoration of the place is amazing, it will definitely bring a smile out of Panamanians. The "show" is nothing to write home about. I found the food to be tasty and plentiful, they organized a doggy bag.
Very good restaurant with great selection of foods and beer. Great location and atmosphere and staff are friendly. They do have a music show after 7pm everyday. I love their foods..
I travel A LOT-yet this restaurant was more than food. It was an experience! The owner was so hospitable and took the time to make everyone feel like family. But! The food was exquisite! Make this place top on your bucket list!
For true Panamanian food and atmosphere there is none like La Fonda. Whay an awesome experience.
Wow this place amazing and very authentic 👏🏽 from the first point of contact which was calling to make a reservation until the moment you leave the staff makes you feel very welcome and engage. I LOVE the atmosphere you feel like you are in different parts of the country at once the even have half of a bus inside the place (Diablo Rojo). Live shows that are a complete delight. You get to use prompts and feel like you are part of the show. The prices are really good and the portions are huge both days we went we still has food to go. But this is a must while visiting Panamá you get the taste and feel of the country in one place also everything was freshly made. One of my new favorites. A gift shop is also conveniently located adjacent to the restaurant. Ojueeee 🤭
Amazing place, the food es great, authentic panamenian food and the attention is breathtaking. Really recommended
Very authentic Panamanian food! The service was great! The atmosphere takes you back to old Panama! Definitely worth it!
Very authentic Panamanian food and atmosphere. Everything about La Fonda, starting with its names pays homage to Panamanian culture! The food was very tasty. The service was impeccable!
Good place to taste some generic panamenian food. The place, it does have a great vibe, live music and a cool truck parked inside.
The place is very local and you can get an authentic Panamanian food/atmosphere.
There menu is a sample of the great variety of the cuisine found in Panama. The decoration is very innovative without losing the main context of the place, which to represent the Panamanian culture.
Extremely non professional service. This was my second visit and will never return because on both visits Im yet to enjoy my requested meal.Out of a group of 23 family members we were the first to request out meal nevertheless my son was the last to receive his meal. My wife and I complained as why we hadnt received our meal and the response from the supposed waitress was he has no control over how the kitchen dispatches the meal.I then informed him to cancel my meal. We continued waiting for my wifes meal following 10 minutes my wife called him and asked about her meal he then said since your husband canceled his meal and your both together I cancelled yours also we waited another 8min before her meal showed up to the table. The rest of family members has already been served and ate there meal. My wife ate alone while others watched.... EXTREMELY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE.... WILL NOT RETURN... WILL NOT RECOMMEND THE RESTAURANT
Food was good, but the vibe was better. Really cool place. They have one of those crazy buses inside. They also had some traditional dancing.
The place is awesome with bits of details about Panama. The catch is the bus that is a bar. Then the dancers inviting everybody to have a great Panamanian time.
Great theme concept🇵🇦 good decoration and customer service! Very good ambient! Tortillas and guiso were on point, very fresh!
Excellent place to bring new visitors in Panama.
Ambiance and the show dancing was good. Food was okay. They had ran out of food and I had seen that the rice was portioned into bags and reheated.
Great place well located with amazingly good panameñan food.I was served by a super nice lady who explained to me the menu and asked the chef for some recommendation, I choose what we suggested, a spicy fish with coconut rice, it was delicious and so nice to have chose that. They also have shows at night so it might be really good place to see a little bit more about the local culture.Food, greatPrice, touristy but goodService, amazing
Nice place, excellent Panamanian food. Colorful sample of what Panama is all about love it! Try the coffee.
