the food is surprisingly good, they provide a very large table for 13 - 15 persons. the service is hella fast, they have tons of staffs that will help you with anything!the mushola is kinda small, but they have mukena for girls, dont worry about it.

One of a must-try authentic cuisine in Cirebon. Slices of beef chuckles with coconut milk soup. Very rich in flavour. We had nasi lengko and tahu gejrot as well.. Nasi lengko and tahu gejrot are from Cirebon too.

I prefer empal asem than their empal gentong, it’s tastier.Sate kambing just ok, i’ve tried better one somewhere else. Tahu gejrot also have good flavor.Parking might be hard during busy hour. Service pretty much quick.

Good local cirebon food

Their empal gentong was too light. I tried another popular similar restaurant and confirmed that the other one was more flavorful. Ordered sate kambing also but it was too chewy. The indoor seating is full of smoke. On the positive note, service was pretty fast.

For me, I like the taste Empal Asem, Empal Gentong, Sate Kambing Muda & Tahu Gejrot. Its ok to dine-in if the restaurant not too crowded. But its uncomfortable at crowded time.

A delicious and popular dish from cirebon. H. Apud is one of the pioneer in cirebon. Unfortunatelly there was no spoon on our table and we had to ask first to the waiter and therere alot flies.

Kapal gontong shd give it a try. But their satay kamping is not as good as i expected as the review. But if you happened to be in town, u can give it a try. But its quiet crowded durinf lunch time.

Despite of being well known of culinary place, the price here is still cheap! Really love it. Tastes great. I tried their Tahu Gejrot and Coconut Ice. Both great. They use condensed milk for the Coconut Ice and it become a bit weird and too sweet, but its okay.

I ordered empal gentong (beef stew with coconut milk soup)...the beef meat was tender and soup excellent taste with chilly powder if you like spicy....Beef satay not better than lamb satay....

The place is normal, not really comfortable but its ok. The food: empal gentong is always the best, empal asem is good enough if u really dont like coconut milk. Good. Generous meat, although most are innards, but I quite enjoy the chewiness of the tripe and intestines. The chilli powder is spicy so dont put too much if youre not into spicy food. The lamb sate was also good. Meat was tender and doesnt smell. I wish itd be bigger though haha.. Oh they also sell empal gentong in cans, so you can buy them as souvenirs. The restaurant is old, not too clean but not too dirty. You can smell the sate being cooked. I think you can smoke inside the restaurant as they have ashtray on the table.

Make sure dont put too much chili cause quite spicy. You can add some fish crackers or skin crackers. Or emping. Empal gentong more tasty with rice cake but its preference. Overall recommended!

Famous restaurant in Cirebon, always crowded along the day, but the taste of foods and drinks are just so so. The services are quite good and fast respond. The place is quite large. There are some supporting facilities, such as toilet, mushola, big parking area, and so on.

The most famous Empal Gentong in Cirebon, but not the tastiest. The soup, even though filled with lots of beef chunks, lacks saltiness and the meal was overall below my expectations. To me, its just soto sapi. Go to Amarta instead. According to the locals, they were the first to make Empal Gentong.
