Emmas Dream Kitchen in Tromso
Description
Privilege
We had the 9 course meal, Sophia (sorry if I got your name wrong!was very lovely to explain each dish which was excellently prepared.
MoreWe had a nice dinner for three there. Cosy atmosphere, friendly staff, reasonable prices.
MoreUnforgettable culinary experience! The dishes are a work of art for eyes and mouth. The different tastes were dancing harmonically in balance. Accomplishments for the Czech chef, Thomas; his mastery with the cuisine is astonishing. In addition, the place has a great atmosphere and the workers are professional and friendly. I absolutely recommend this unique place.
MoreGreat Food ! Awesome Taste !! Don’t miss this if you like fish & meat (reindeer😉).. The staffs are so friendly and welcoming... Good service ...reserve and go there . Busy & happening place .
MoreWe have the best culinary experience in Norway. Dishes are perfectly well-cooked and staff was very nice. We also received two glasses as a gift for our honeymoon dinner. A very nice attention.Thank you so much!
MoreWe have been there twice with my wife. Once for valentines Day, a wonderful time to begin our honeymoon. And once ten days later for our last evening. The first time was at the restaurant, it was so nice!!! A four courses menu, each course better than the last. The second time was at the bar, and again everything was perfect. The person who served us gave us really good advice. I could say that he knew better than me what I wanted! Thanks a lot!
MoreWaiter Andreas is full og knowledge, humour and really patient with us when the alcohol level gets too high. The food is really good and the service is polite and superb.
MoreI asked a Norwegian friend for restaurant suggestions in Tromso and this was her first choice. It did not disappoint. I had whale carpaccio and a reindeer entree. The meal was delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience even though I was dining alone. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling to Tromso.
MoreMy husband and I recently took a weekend trip to Tromsø and Emma’s was a place right around the corner from our hotel, and one that was recommended from friends who had been guests previously. Though the location is quite small, the tables were spaced out appropriately, service was fantastic, and the food was spectacular; we each had the Fiskesuppe to start with, and had Elgkjøttboller & Høyrygg av okse. I definitely recommend coming here and having a dinner if you have the time! We will definitely be back and the restaurant will surely be a recommendation for our friends who will come here in the future!
MoreQuality of the food is good at their first floor lunch place, but dont go here if you want a good cup of coffe with your meal. Coffee selection is less than poor(!!Service could also be both faster and better.
MoreWe enjoyed dishes and service. But it was the most boring experience of dining in a restaurant in my entire life. 5 tiny dishes were served during 2,5 hours. There was wine for every dish, so we got decently drunk while waiting. We barely got home on our feet. Dishes were good, but not WOW. My husband cooks better. And I would say... If you really want to test your relationship, try this experience. Tiny dishes, lots of wine, exhausting waiting and a huge check. Not every couple can survive this. But those who survive will get stronger!
MoreIf it werent for the good food, I would have been forced to give two stars or less. In Norway we have this saying that if you wait for something good, you will not wait in vain. Well, the wait was too long.We arrived five minutes earlier than what we had booked through their website. Upon arrival we were informed that there were no available table for us yet, so we would have to wait. In these times of Corona, we didnt really mind and we also got a glass of champagne on the house. Due to the delay we were also given the opportunity to choose the dishes we wanted. We ordered a three course menu with a wine pack.We ordered King Crab, and Raindeer tartar for appetizers. Catfish and lamb for mains. And vanilla custard with cloudberry sorbet and meringue for dessert.Unfortunately for us it took them at least 35-40min before we got any kind of food. One would think that it is normal to at least get some sort of bread and butter after placing an order, and seeing most tables around us had a basket of bread, we started wondering why we didnt get some. The king crab and Raindeer tartar was good. After this we had to wait around 25-30min before we got our main. The lamb was very good, but the catfish hadnt been completely cooked. And then we had to wait another 20-25mim before we got our desserts, which were also very good.Im a bit surprised that they struggled so much with getting the orders out. We noticed that many of the other tables had to wait a long time for their food as well. So I wouldnt say it was unique for us. We noticed that another table actually got a fourth meal in their three course dinner because they had been waiting for such a long time.If it werent for the waiting, I wouldve probably given a four star.
MoreI went here once with my family and we really liked the local cuisine that they are offering here. Especially the atmosphere is very pleasant.Sometimes the waiters are a bit lacking responsiveness but were still very hospitable and friendly. Can definitely recommend anybody to give it a try,
MoreStaffs were kind. Fish/Risotto were little bit bland and beer was good. The restaurant has a free WIFI.
MoreA horrible experience. Not only was the service lazy and awkward, but the food was absolutely inedible. We each took one bite and couldn’t finish the meal. The braised lamb special was not cooked enough and was too tough to even cut with a knife, the reindeer steak was mealy and mushy. We asked for the check immediately because of how terrible everything was, and no one asked if we were okay or how the food was or anything. As if they didn’t even care. We left with full plates at the table unfortunately.
MoreThe food is good and a friendly staff. But if the place is 60% or more occupied the waitress will be super busy and forget your order or to bring your bill.
MoreThe best Bacalao (Clipfishof the city. The food is really delicious!
Very nice cosy place in the heart of town. They have a short menù with original dishes. It Is not cheap but not expensive either for Tromso standard. Do not expect asian cooking cespite the Red lamps outsider.
MoreDream Kitchen serving Dream Food! The lamb shank I had was out of this world and the creme brule was a perfect finish to the meal. [Picture: catch (Halibutof the day]
MoreRestaurant location is good , but fish and Lamp are really so so, service fine but not special
MoreI am very sad that my stomach is so small... I wish to eat and taste each item from menu. Definitely the great place! I will back soon! Thank you. On the picture a carrot cake and a steak of whale.
MoreHad dinner here few days back. The venison inner filet was quite good and the blueberry sauce was also really quite good. The main dish was overall balanced and a treat. The desert was good but the semifreddo itself was a bit heavy for my taste.Very polite and professional staff that smiled and happily helped throughout. Coffee and beer were fine also. Pricing was alright at 900 for two mains, desert and drinks. The risotto my father had was a bit flat and so so though.
MoreBest whale steak during our stay. Excellent fish soup. The gratain is good as an everyday meal but is macaroni dish not revealing new insights into seafood experience
MoreGreat kitchen, warmly atmosphere and oportunity for tasting steak of whale! You must try famous fish soup.
MoreEmmas Dream Kitchen has its charm and French like atmosphere. The food was beautifully presented and very delicious. As always, Norwegen waiters are very nice and helpful. I had the pan fired cod and it was yummy with tasty flavours. The desserts were super nice as well. I would recommend it to anyone who visits or lives in Tromso.
MoreA delightful evening. This restaurant specialises in Norwegian cuisine. While it has a very small menu & wine list - the food was expertly prepared. But it was the friendliness of our waitress Suzanne who made the night for us. Thanks for making our last night in Norway so memorable.
MoreGreat food and very nice atmosphere.I recommend you reindeer carpaccio, smoked reindeer, cured whale and steak of whale.Local beer also do the job.One of the bests kitchen in Tromsø.Highly recommended.
MoreVery nice restaurant. Delicious food, friendly staff. You should definitely reserve a table in the evening
MoreAmazing food, not as competitive with prices, but definitely worth the expense. We both had the reindeer steak. Desserts were good (although overpriced). They had small low radiators near the walls to warm up your feet after walking through all the snow, which I think was a great idea. Very friendly staff.
MoreVery nice & classic restaurant.Nice food and good service.Waitress & waiters are friendly.Really enjoy my stay there while very cold outside.
MoreGreat restaurant with different areas of decor to have your meal in! Great food and serving staff very lovely
MoreOutstanding food and service. Really delicious. I recommend the pan fried herring and the halibut. Very kind waitresses and lovely environment.
MoreAbsolutely delicious. The reindeer was exceptional. The place is cosy with good service. Highly recommended
MoreA very nice experience with a high value for my money. Ate the lunch menu with baked clipfish with mashed potatoes and chorizoes. The portion was very good and the tasted perfect. Only wished for a bit more pieces of chorizoes. The service was very nice, and the prize with coffee was 250,- NOK wich it was well worth.
MoreFantastic food and absolutely outstanding service.
The food here was amazing! We had the weekly menu, lamb steak with delicious sides, and Rocky Road dessert. We had to wait a little while until we got our mains (even tho we hardly noticed, the restaurant had such a nice and chill vibeand we got a small portion soup plus complimentary wine on the house! Incredible!!! The service here is top notch, just like the food!
MoreGreat place to have dinner in the centre of the city. There are a couple of traditional dishes to try if youre feeling adventurous including cod tongue and reindeer sausages. Service was very good and the decor feels upscale enough for a candlelit date or similar experience.
MoreThe food is quite good, the place is nice and located in the center of Tromso, and it includes some local dishes (eg, cod tongue). For Norwegian standards, the price is not too high (it is not cheap either, the main dishes are around 23-38€).
MoreWe had a wonderful dinner at Emmas Dream Kitchen. We reserved several days in advance on their website and got there and our table was ready. We chose a meat and a fish main course and we wnjoyed both as they were delicious and very delicate. The service helped us with a few requests on the food and made sure the food was as wished. The waiting time between order and then for the payment was a little streched. Other than that, totally to be recommended.
MoreVery good food but very small portions!
Cosy place with excellent service and delicious Norwegian dishes
Turned up well after reservation time: no problem. Very welcoming. Good food (tried both types of cod). Not cheap but good value.
MoreThe herring dish in starter was delicious. Reindeer beef was okay.
Tomato fish soup and fish gratin. Two things not to be missed in Tromsø. Service is very good, food is great.
MoreDelicious food, tried the reindeer beef which was perfectly cooked and cod fish which was ok, one piece was more dry than the other. Nice service and helpful. Overall a pleasant experience 😁
MoreLovely food and mood. Not a lot to chose from, but i actually prefer that, because then you know that what they have is all good. A bit too pricey, though.
MoreDropped for lunch and had whale steak for 195 kr. It looks and tastes like tender beef. Friendly services.
MoreNice and cosy little restaurant! This cosy restaurant in the city centre of Tromsø is pretty small and very popular so do a reservation! We had a window table with superb view of the wooden cathedral (Tromsø Domkirke). The menu is limited (just two meat and three fish dishes). My wife and I had the Reindeer beef as main course and finished with “Emma`s cloudberry crème brûlée” (see my attached photos). Emma did not provide our best meal in Norway but the service was great. The restaurant is a bit pricey.RegardsSvein-Magne Tunli from Bergen, Norway.
MoreFood wasnt bad but not the best Ive ever had - maybe just the best in Tromsø but it is a small town. Good selection of traditional Norwegian foods like salted cod, reindeer, whale meat and salmon. Portions were large and generous. service was kind of cold. Def make a booking, we saw plenty without booking get rejected.
MoreTheir staff are very nice and their food is delicious, but you must make your reservation in their website in advance
