Émile Restaurant - Breakfast restaurant in Budapest II. kerület, Hungary
Nice place high in buda, worth a visit
The quality of the food does not reflect the price. The Eggs Florentine was bland and had way too much sauce on it. The toasted croissant had mediocre ham and cheese which were not toasted at all. The tejbegríz had no gríz in it, it was a rather strange pudding. At this pricerange, and with this style, this was a major letdown.
One of the best brekkies I ever had
Great food and nice staff. A bit expensive though but I think experience is worth it. Definitely will visit again.
I loved their croissant
Smoked salmon is way too salty, we couldn’t even eat it. They said they are sorry…
Iced latte with vanilla was good as well as the the chocolate macaroon. But the chocolate cake was not as expected.
Super outdoor ambience, loved the breakfast we had here, excellent for meeting friends and business partners in a pleasant place with good food and drinks.
My favourite place for brunch, lovely ambience, friendly staffs.
A charming nice villa in the Buda hills, with a well tought cuisine, elegant, yet homey style!
Best place in Buda, such a gem, great food, amazing service
Lets start with the service is great! The food is tasty, the coffee is wow.And they have vegan, gluten free options.
The perfect place for breakfast or any meal. The food is delicious, perfectly served. The place offer inside and outside area to sit. Very unique design. Good for children with corner filled with toys. The staff was helpful, smiley and professional. Highly recommended.
Outdoor seating was great under a sunny day. Staff was great. The food was great. Decently priced. The interior of the restaurant was very posh including the toilet - as if you were in a library with the wallpaper!
Unbelievable, real highlight. Food is delicious and gorgeous!Thank you for the very warm welcome and the generous words in your reaction.I hope to visit my nephew soon and Ill gladly visit your restaurant again.Thank you!
Perfect for brunch. Deco was cute, food is great. Tea could be better - a timer for the leaves would make the experience just perfect
The place was really nice, the recipes were rethought and the waiters were more thank kind.
Émilie made our wedding reception perfect, and we are so grateful they were able to accommodate us on our date. Csenge was so helpful and patient in responding to our many enquiries and she made us feel very welcome. On the day, Balázs was very accommodating, helping with last minute requests and food changes and made sure we had an enjoyable evening. The food and service was exceptional, as was the waiting staff, and we very much look forward to visiting again soon!
Elegant, comfortable and warm atmosphere! Excellent meal, vine and desserts! I warmly recommend this Restaurant!
Delicious food, friendly staff, nice garden. Children seemed to enjoy the place too.
Beautiful place. Good food and very good service. We love it....❤
I don’t recommend this place at all. We visited this place to celebrate a birthday and waited 30 minutes for 4 menus. After we were fed up with waiting, weve tried relocating to Emile, the restaurant section, where despite there being a free table, we were told that it is only for 4 people, and should wait for a bigger one and theyll let us know when one frees up.10 minites later we’ve got that same table, with +1 chair…We’ve waited another 30 minutes, during which time we vitnessed others guests arriving, ordering and being served. So we left the restaurant hungry and dissapointed, 1,5hour wasted and a lesst than satisfying birthday brunch. Thank you guys!
Relaxing, well designed spaces indoors and outdoors as well. Beautiful cakes a decorated main dishes. Small menu based on traditional Hungarian cuisine. Quiet and intimate place.
Didnt like it. The waiters had an attitude, their lunch menu used to be so much better... It is a shame as this used to be a really good place.
Great ambiance and design. Various in and outdoor areas for all tastes and generations. Chick yet cosy and functional. Food is trendy, filling and well thought. Recommended to everyone
Yes its posh and fancy, but in a very good way! Émile is a great place to sit outside in the sun, enjoy some bubly and have a great sunday afternoon after a much needed brunch! The waiters are nice, the food is good and the place is far from the madding crowd of downtown BP. Have an eggs benedict and ask for some prosecco! Monday is still far away;)
Great breakfast place, no specific vegan option, but they made our oat meal with water, and the drink with coconut milk. Superb tea options are available. Highly recommended.
Waste of time and money to go there. Choose Villa Bagatell/Brot bakery instead!Change of profile made the lower part a self service bakery with contemporary warm interior, upper floor remained a snobbish bistro. After 3 years of operation the lower part has gone through a refurb at least three times, that clearly shows that they still have not found what locals are looking for. Also Very dissapointing that we ordered fruit tea and they ran out of it, should not happen at an upscale place like this. No value for money, sad to see that despite it could be a favorite for a lot of families, for us and many others we talked to it remains a “once a year give a try” place.
Really premium breakfast restaurant. Very high quality food. Service is professional and polite. Price level is okay. Highly recommended.
An fancy looking venue in a nice neighborhood in the Buda hills. Upon entering, there is a delicious looking dessert counter.I was a little disappointed to find the sparkling water on the table almost flat. The goats cheese starter was well presented but distinctly lacking any taste. Dont get me wrong, goats cheese is never bad, but this was distinctly average. The burger main course was also well presented on a nice slate serving plate. Unfortunately, the base of the bunt was severely burnt. This gave a slightly charred taste, which was detrimental to the gastronomic experience. Furthermore, the burger itself was a tad over cooked. Not ideal.Service was inconsistent.
The decoration in the restaurant is great, beautiful garden but the food was quite bad. I ordered mushroom ravioli as the main course and got 2 tasteless raviolis with some foam and salad next to it. Picture attached.
Rather fine dining place with excellent menu
Pretty decent (if a bit overpricedbreakfast spot. Super friendly staff in a room that evoked this strange and somewhat bewildering feeling of going down Alices rabbit hole in your grandmothers living room. The eggs benedict with salmon was excellent.
A quick run away from the city! If you are a high note skybar lover, you will quickly notice these two places are blood brothers! For peaceful gatherings in summer, Émile is the right choice! EDIT: I have been to this place couple of more times, they set their standards high. Their desert come from Café Gerbeaud, of which the owner of the place is related :). Go for chocolate ones, you will be surprised!
Very child friendly place. Service is very attentetive, good quality produce. Cakes are amazing. Breakfast offer is nicely prepared basics like eggs, pastry, continental. But overall great place. Garden could be marvellous in summer.
They didn’t alow us to stay there after having an ice cream because our style didn’t fit the place. We were with three small children whom wanted to play in the garden instead of sitting on chairs. The manager came to our table asked me to leave. His tone was unacceptable. Disgusting and discriminative! Never gonna go there again!
Our service was great. The waiter was not just a waiter but one of the managers of the Gergbaud Group. We ordered white shell for starter.. the buttered homemade flat bread was excellent! Our main dish were: steak; mango-pomegranate salad...they were really good. My champagne with blueberry was special and of course good. The building is beautiful and clean the garden is very nice. We will came back! :)
Really nice place in a calmer area of the city. The food you get is really yummy, from the starters till the cakes. After you finished your meal you can move to the relaxing corner to enjoy your sweets. I like it specially in the summer because of its garden. The waiters are really cool, other places should learn from them. At the end if you can eat more just ask for an ice cream.
The location is in Buda somewhat remote, which is a great benefit especially now in the summer season:to have a table in a garden setting. Parking available. I took off a star as its somewhat overpriced for the value provided. The gnocchi with mushrooms was alright quality however the proportions mushroom and mushroom foam vs gnocchi was not balanced - you could call it a "mushroom overkill with the memory of a gnocchi" (Would definitely give a counterpoint to the meatiness of (lessmushrooms with a light/few greens on the side with a hint of citrus). I would not order that same dish. The desserts on the other hand were more interesting. Not great, but very good. The gerbaud (zserbówas a good choice. All in all a pleasant wee restaurant for summer lunches and evenings. The interior on the first floor was of good niveau and could provide a nice atmosphere even in the colder months of the year. Would return some time.
The perfect place if you need a little escape from the city noise! This is beautiful restaurant in a villa on the Buda side. Afternoon tea is a treat, lounging in the garden on a sunny day is bliss and the food and service are pretty good.
Everything is relative, right? "Expensive" is one of those overused words bandied about in restaurant reviews worldwide---"expensive" to a Tokyo salaryman is pocket change to a Fleet Street hedge fund manager, ya? Same deal here. For me, though, the food at Emiles does not live up overall to the price tag associated with it, whether in quality, complexity, presentation, or just plain old taste. Its not bad, but its not great either, just pretty much plain old middle of the road. One could do much worse as far as Buda brunch options go, of course, without a doubt. And twenty, heck, even ten years ago this place would be in the top 1% of Budai gastronomes choices. But in 2018 there are multiple choices higher on the bang-for-the-buck short list than Emiles. What that means is if the phrase "money is no object" is NOT in your vocabulary, then you might want to consider other culinary options in the green hills of Buda.
Great dishes in a calm and nice environment
style:decorative tea/coffee house, not posh or glamorous, but rather stylish and comfortable. its location in Buda suburbs keeps away touristsservice:casual, prompt, informativecuisine:tea, coffees and healthy selection of inhouse made cakes. hungarian style cakes are cream based layered style. they also have macaronsprice:not overly expensive considering its very nice decor. about 2-3 euro per item
Went for the birthday of my wife. We had an amazing time. Could not have picked better place. Great food and even better deserts! You will love it. Although its a. It further out of downtown...
Really good place to have a lunch and chill. Garden has very good atmosphere. Food is very delicious, but just a few selection and some of them was out at 7 oclock. Service was polite, but we had to wait 45mins to serve, although it wasnt full. Cakes are brilliant.
Excellent service, very nice coffees, teas and fresh juices for breakfast. My favorite breakfast and lunch place in Budapest right now. Impeccably designed and child friendly with class.
Great ambiance, good decoration. The prices are not very expensive. The coffees are good. They offer breakfast. Free Parking is available. Elit place, strongly suggested.
Fine Dining in Buda. A small gem hidden from the messes. Prices are high, not recommended for those who think 1000 HUF for an orange juice is overpriced.
I have been here twice already, always nice experience. However I will hardly come back after todays "service". Staff was slow, food was poor, except the granola (hard to mess up), very bad experience for the price. Management has to reconsider replacing chefs, waiters. Otherwise the place has potential. Very disappointed.
I go for the sweets and the setting, but the breakfast is nice too! The place is a renovated house with some very nice details. It is great place to meet friends or do business if you so desire
