Great place to learn about emerald mining in colombia.
Obviously their main business is to sell jewelry but they also have some in-house production and they do present enough info to qualify as a basic museum. On the negative side ... They use natural emeralds. So if you compare them against lab created or treated emeralds youll typically find in big stores - obviously the natural ones for the same price will be smaller, less clear, and overall look less impressive. But if you want the real natural ones - its a good place. On the positive side ... Because they have their own shop on-site, you can customize your jewelry. Dont expect something out of this world, but if you know what you want and can explain it and have some time - you can get a one of a kind piece for some very reasonable price.Overall, its a good honest business.
Totally a tourist trap. Wanted to buy diamond earrings and theyre all about emeralds. Also wanted to take advantage of less expensive jewelry in Colombia and this was not the place to go. Wont go there ever again.
Highly attentive staff but I felt the prices were considerably higher than the other stores I looked at..
Great Emerald museum and jewelry store. We were given an amazing emerald explanation. Also we learn about quality.
This place is amazing and my sales rep George was extremely helpful and attentive. The bracelet I purchased was to small but he worked with both the owner and technician to get a desired outcome. Im happy with my decision.
Beautiful tour and lovely pieces of jewelry
Love the museum, beautiful jewelry good prices
The service is great! They have a beautiful collection. They are not pushy and they are very patient.
Me and my family had a great experience there we learn a lot about the emeralds and the difference between them plus the staff was really friendly.
Very expensive!
Its a great place definitely did not know Colombia was the emerald capital of the world. They put themselves off as a wholesaler of emeralds but in actuality in their showroom tried to charge but seems to be retail prices. Probably after youre feeling high and lovely off of the tour and emerald happy. You will have a great experience and the people are very knowledgeable but a little pricey
Excellent tour in English. Very helpful and not pushy when trying sell jewelery.
Great history of the Columbia emerald mines.
We enjoyed a wonderful jewelry making class and so shopped for some beautiful jewelry.
Very awesome tours, prices were a bit high
Nice little museum and gorgeous jewelry! A must stop especially if you are a May baby.
Best place I have ever visited .
I bought a ring intheir shop next to the museum a year ago and.one the small emeralds fell out and was lost. When we were there on a cruise this year I went to the store and they replaced it for free! And that was with a rush order to get back to the ship on time. Great customer service..Im happy to buy from them. Theyll work with you on prices, also.
While on a tour of Cartagena we had our choice of an area in The Simon Bolivar Plaza to visit. We chose this museum to see and learn about. Beautiful. There are many interesting displays to see and.....oh the gorgeous jewelry to admire!
This is a great museum experience, if you want to learn about emeralds. Our tour guide was very professional and knowledgeable. The jewelry they had for sale was very beautiful, if emeralds are your passion.
Learned a lot about emeralds. We were taught how to make our own jewelry, which was fun. Awesome time.
Best place emeralds in Cartagena, not only grate jewelry but you walk out knowing a little more about emeralds.
Was interesting seeing the jade in its raw form. The sales people were a little too persistent in the gift shop however.
A bit boring, nice jewels.
Great tour, very knowledgeable staff, very discreet shop.
Very cool to see there mining display and how they cut and polish the stones. Highly recommended
Awesome learning about emeralds. Tour guide did a great job explaining everything!
Interesting place for emerald jewelry.
Interesting presentation on mining
Just sales nothing fun.

Had an amazing experience! Thank you Maria and Eduardo for taking such great care of our purchase. Beautiful Emeralds and I’m so happy with my new ring.❤️
Very professional and cordial people.
Nice experience and very informative, we are from Colombia and didnt know a lot about our emeralds. We got a nice pair of earrings.
Lets face - its just a facade for a jewelry store
Beautiful gems and their history
Excellent Emerald museum worth a visit. It shows the emerald mining, and source if emerald around the world. There are many types and size and grades of emerald on show. There is a jewelry shop selling emerald jewelry on site too. But the best of emerald is not there probably due to bthe type of visitors there. There best is probably has been auctioned off to the top Jewelers around the world in New York, London, Paris and Switzerland.
Good price ..great visit
Its a tourist trap!
Wonderful shopping experience, truly a great place to buy Emeralds.
It is a museum but at the end they try to sell you and esmeralda at an over price
Incredible. Simple, full of history and great facts. I wouldnt imagine Emeralds were so hard to find and prepare. Well done. Thank you for such informative and brief museum experience.
Nice place, including a museum, a workshop and retail are for buying emeralds and jewelry. Pricey.
What a cool idea to extract money from (femaletourists ... nicely done and well managed place ... kids loved the museum and the workshop ... we were watching jewelers in action and learned about emeralds ... empanada place next to the museum on the corner is very convenient when shopping goes longer than anticipated
Good place to get an emerald
Very nice museum and our guide Luis did an excellent job explaining the mining process and exhibits. The museum has a tunnel that you can go through to experience the cramped nature that the miners go through to deliver the emeralds. The exhibits go through Colombias history of emeralds and the Spanish invaders. Other exhibits have emeralds from around the world. The tour ends in the jewelry shop. Im not a jewelry person so wont comment on that.
The museum is interesting and I learned a lot about emeralds. Its worth a half hour or more. I would have gladly spent more time on each exhibit but our guide kept moving us fairly fast. She was pleasant, and did not apply any sales pressure when she showed us the goods for sale. We will consider returning to take the jewelry making course for $90 each; this uses raw uncut emeralds.
Nice place to learn about emerald mining. It is owned by a jewelry store, so there is a store to buy emeralds if you want to. The place is well kept and prices are ok.
This is a very nice place!! I love it. High quality emeralds and the tour was good too.
