Emerald Golden Dragon Chinese Restaurant in Emerald

We had a plate and smorgasbord. Yum.

No trip to emerald is complete without a stop for Chinese here. Never upsets our tummies (no msg), always wonderful service, plenty left for lunch the next day!

Charged me $20.90 for a extra large container when they are $18.90 and wouldnt give back the difference and food was terrible !!!!!!

Always eat here at least once a fortnight last night I ordered king prawns and fried rice everyone else in my house at KFC I have been spewing for 12 hours 🤮🤮🤮 might need to up there hygiene

We had dinner there last night . Food was plentiful and great tasting. Owners very friendly. Will definitely call back in when in the region again .

We visited this place in 2019 while in Emerald & found the food was excellent. Went back tonight as we are back in Emerald. The food is discussing. Mostly battered & over cooked & very dry. I believe there is new owners. Tv was so loud you could even talk. Lots of workman came in so seems to be a local hang out. Kids servicing at front counter. If you don’t want to be sick don’t eat here

The best chinese i have ever come across

Passing through Emerald I chose this cafe over the other one listed because its last review a month ago said there were new owners and the food was good. While the owner (?was very hospitable and the food looked delicious it was somewhat bland, eg, like they’d adapted it to the Australian and/or Emerald taste buds. As I sat in and ate it was a revolving door for the locals getting takeaway. I was surprised to see a lot of deep fried items, even dim sims, no vegetable dishes and the boiled (?chicken used in the chicken & veggie dish was uneatable. What I liked the most was the chicken and sweet corn soup. The point of a review is to give honest feedback and this I’ve done from my point of view.

Good food and service and stuff. We had food from buffet, but there is a menu if needed.

The new owners of the Golden Dragon are to be congratulated on the fantastic quality of their food. The Satay Chicken and Mongolian Beef that we have had this evening were superb. Good quality meat and vegetables. The fried rice was also top notch. I would highly recommend the Golden Dragon.

Absolutely amazing, food exquisite

I agonised whether to write a review or not. But after the lingering taste of old cooking oil is still in my mouth, I thought it best to provide an independent assessment of my experience. The restaurant presents nicely enough; it’s clean, well lit and the gentleman serving was very friendly. I was welcomed by an ‘all you fill’ (containerfood-trough. The food indeed looked tasty and the range extensive. I packed my container with a little of most dishes, thinking I would enjoy the different flavours front the orient. I got my little container back to my motel and tucked-in after a quick re-heat in the microwave. I’m not going into a diatribe about how ordinary the food was, but… if you like your food cooked in old engine oil, ‘meat’ that might be chicken, pork or beef and dishes that taste like they’re old enough to vote - this place has got you covered! I think I’ll go out to my car and get the packet of cheese Twisties I talked myself out of previously.

A great little diner - super friendly bloke running the place. Fresh, tasty food, and great variety. We could only stay for a plate and a half, but the queue out the door is testament to it being the go-to place for that quick, tasty meal.

Great Chinese takeaway. The lunch special is a bargain at $12 for a container of rice (fried rice too!and meat of your choosing and a drink. Food was great and service was fantastic.

After the new owners have taken over, the food has gone down hill. Very bland and not worth eating and some can’t be eaten. Threw it one after a few bites. Major room for improvement

Decided to try Chinese in townEmerald Golden DragonFilled my takeaway up with a variety of food and as I went to pay rude chinese lady says you cant just have meat. I said why I dont like the vegetables she said you cant. I had maybe a spoon of meat extra I added at the end. I said you have no sign up saying that I told her she was rude and she said I was rude.Dont ever buy chinese their.You will get rude service substandard watery food and you cant just take meat.Welcome to Emerald first night out was very disappointed and walked out without meal or paying.So so rude.Just wanted a good meal.😔
