19th-century palace turned shopping mall featuring Portuguese brands & designers & a restaurant.
Embaixada in Algés
Description
Privilege
More appealing for the building than the shops, which are tiny boutiques, on the expensive side. The building, though,is fascinating and makes it worth a look if youre in the area. I wouldnt make a dedicated trip. The building is a mix of Art Nouveau in the paintings and decorations, but the structure is Moorish Revival, an unexpected pairing. Be sure to check out the ceilings, which often have some adornment. Not easily accessible for anyone who struggles with stairs.
MoreOne of many concept stores you will find in Lisbon but this one is definitely the classiest. You can buy scents clothes oil paintings as well as dine in. This is not a bit out of way from the tourist hotspot but it is quite accessible via public transit. It’s a beautiful neighborhood with wide streets lined by stores and a large park nearby. Stop by!
MoreBreathtaking architecture with very nice local shops
Worth the visit on your way to/from the botanical garden.
Arabic style building with several stores and restaurants inside. The building is super cool and the shops are worth checking out
MoreVery nice shopping and cafe/restaurant venue in Principe Real area of Lisboa. Very charming shops in historic building in Lisboa. Unique shops and restaurants compared to big shopping malls in Lisboa. Definitely worth checking out.
MoreNice place with lots of local shops. Definitely a building worth visiting and you might find something for you too.
MoreNice art and small stores, but the whole building smells like a toilet from ancient times
MoreIt is the inside of the building you go to see, very unique. Shopping, all small stores selling their wares.
MoreNice interiors and vibes. Very nice collection and quality products. Highly recommended when in Lisbon.
MoreBeautiful shoping mall in a unique old building.Worth a visit, but the shops are super expensive.
MoreIs this the most beautiful shopping palace in the world? I do think it might be! Not large, but absolutely stunning! And art gallery and lovely food/bar options downstairs. Dont miss this!
MoreRemarkable, absolutely dont miss it!
Fantastic food with great decor and wonderful staff. Ceviches are fresh and made of local products, desserts are unique and flavorful.
MoreCool and unusual shopping centre.Lots of hand crafted local design.Very friendly staff and cool atmosphere.
MoreLovely and unique place in Lisbon. Everything is special about this place. Great gin bar(in such a lovely October weather could have open outside terrace(was closed)), have fab place to eat stake too. Art surrounded and creative.Advice to see and enjoy
MoreSangria is not good enough, meat is great and service depends on which waitress you order, sometimes it is friendly, sometimes it is not. To be honest, I thought it was much better (having in mind how much I paid)
MoreAssortment of local vendors selling locally made goods in an “Arabic Palace”. Well-done, community-focused spot to shop, sit and relax.
MoreWaw amazing place, surprised to find that behind the doors !
Didnt buy anything but definitely the prettiest "mall" Ive ever been to. Worth a visit if only to see the architecture & art.
MoreVery nice building! Went there on August 21st, it was pretty dead inside... Due to the Covid I’m guessing. Not too much to see inside except a couple of stores. I wouldn’t say it’s a “must do” if you are visiting Lisbonne.
MoreThis place is really cool but it’s only good for sitting in the first floor cafe. The pictures came out gorgeously and the espresso was delicious!
MoreVery nice place with fine offer of portuguese designed staff.
Super cute concept store with lots of cool local brands and a fantastic Gin bar
Visited this place late one night after the stores have closed.it has the most amazing gin bar and the building and decor are just stunning. You have to see the staircase to believe it along with the artwork it is really incredible they have a huge variety of gins in the gin bar and it is a brilliant place to sit for an hour and just enjoy being in Lisbon.
MoreGreat place. Good idea to have created shops in this kind of building.
Pricey place to shop. Unrealistic prices. Just good for looking and seeing this building that has an interesting design and structure
MoreThis concept store might be a little pricey but the people who sell and make the things really put soul in it and the clothes is sustainable. You might find really unique pieces here and if you had to go somewhere unique to Lisbon for shopping I would say you go here. The building is also absolutely beautiful
MoreDont miss this amazing neoclassic marvel of profound Arabic influence, that l happens to have a concept story with a charming restaurant in the magestic atrium (this atrium is a lesson on seduction for architecture, as it catches you and leaves no one indifferent). The stores have character and originality, so dont expect the usual known brands, there is content to match the architecture.
MoreThis is an awesome concept store in a absolute unique location. You can find small new brands, a restaurant and a gin bar. Highly recommended.
MoreSuch a beautiful building with nice spaces for designers to show their wares. Went through the whole building this evening, and in every space I was not acknowledged by one staff member as they were too busy on their laptops or phones. Even the nearly empty restaurant had reserved signs on every table but no customers. Such a shame as it is wasted beauty...
MoreAmazing concept store with a restaurant in the middle. The venue is so beautiful. Worth a little walk through
MoreStumbled in not knowing what this was. And was treated to a most beautiful venue of dining and wonderful botoque shops. The name means Embassy and the building has that grandeur. Shopped at Ecola that has wonderful wool clothing at very reasonable prices. Full wool cloaks for €290. Wonderful scarves of all colors for €25. Service was excellent and friendly. Def come see this building shopping is a plus!
MoreNice shopping center of a different art in an old palace, unfortunately not totally renovated. In the best place of the building an unnecessary gin bar is located instead of a coffee shop, which could attract and serve much more people.
MoreThe building is super beautiful and it’s worth a visit just to look around. The stores sell design stuff and a lot of beautiful things with good quality, but the prices are high. It’s located right next to a park and there is a viewpoint nearby so it’s probably worth it to go uphill to come here! You can also eat here.
MoreReally fine place with stylish shops to the scandinavian side.
Concept/artsy/design shops are my jam. I almost never buy anything but I sure love to look. Take all the fun of a quirky design shop and then put it in an old palace and theres not much to not love about this place!
MoreOld villa with several stores selling Portuguese made clothing, shoes, accessories, art and household goods. Prices are on the higher side, but you get a great quality and craftsmanship. The place also has a restaurant and gin bar.
MoreA beautiful place with some lovely shops and an interesting restaurant it seemed. It what was most probably an old palace in the olden days with a beautiful internal courtyard that is now painted red and very ornate; definitely place to visit.
MoreBeautiful building from the outside as well as from the inside. The Concept Store itself is a bit overrated. However, if you are into Portuguese design it is worth strolling around. Nice option to treat yourself with a gift. Lovely restaurant in the basement.
MoreBeautiful venue with super cool brands. Nice stop for a special gin tonic.
Very unique shopping experience ~ XIX century new-Arabian Palace hosting a selection of boutique shops and a restaurant ~ only in Lisbon!
MoreSuper cool place with small shops with high quality goods. Artists and a very good restaurant. Typical Portuguese food and modern kitchen. Cool surroundings, botanical garden of Lisboa,... I can hardly recommend this place.
MoreBeautiful historic palace restored with independent interior design and clothing shops, as well as a few excellent restaurants. The building itself is totally worth a visit, and includes a Moroccan style riad.
MoreThis Arabic Palace is a must visit! We had lunch at Gin Lovers and it was yummy! Staff is very friendly too.
MoreBeautiful place and many authentic shops
Great lovely gin bar restaurant.. Awesome
Embassy turned shopping complex. Each room has been converted into a separate store. Worth checking out for the architecture if nothing else. Many buildings formerly owned by aristocrats along this street have been converted similarly. Very cool!
MoreThe building in itself is gorgeous! The tenant mix isnt that great, but definitely worth exploring both floors!
MoreUnique, uber cool ambiance.Take your time, enjoy the fabulous architecture and shops.Have a meal or a Gin on the ground floor.
