Elizabeth Lookout - Scenic point in Budapest XII. kerület, Hungary
Great place and better view.Forest and clean air. Just lovely.
Wow, the view is amazing!!! The place itself is very nice. The must place to visit in Budapest.
This is one of the best places to have a view of Budapest. A great hike as well for novice walkers. Its in a great condition with a small museum in it. Highly recommended of youre in Budapest.
Little hike to get up but the view is priceless
Amazing 360 view of Budapest! Nice and easy hike to get to the castle. Worth visiting!
The best view of Budapest and its surroundings, no doubt. One of my favorite places in Hungary for sure.
We got the Childrens Railway to Normafa and walked up to the tower. Great views from the top. Lovely day out away from the city.
Excellent views of Budapest from the top. You can find small villages here and there with a group of houses. It is a good place
The view over budapest is amazing, the entry for the lookout tower is free! And for only 5 euros you can take the chairlift to get up the mountain.
Its a viewing tower at the end of normafa hike/ trail. You can get a birds eye view of Budapest city from here. You can either hike up this tower or walk 5 mins uphill from the zugliget chairlift at Libego cafe
Beautiful lookout tower surrounded by nature and trees. One of the best vantage points in Budapest and it’s free!
One of the best things to see in Budapest...if you want to go out in the city and see the nature...than this ist a must
This place is a real tourist attraction! Located in the outer rim of Budapest and as the highest point of the capital it is absolutely worth to visit. The neighborhood is a real recreation area with woods and parks not to mention the rubber surfaced running track and the conditional assets. The sightseeing tower is a real unique building which was built in 1910 and its in such original condition. On the top of it you can enjoy the scenery of Budapest and the surrounding villages. All in all if you visited Budapest you have to visit the area but count on many hours to this programe.
Near Normafa park, 1.4km hiking from the Normafa or we can say that around half an hour hiking.Chairlift available - chairlift price 2000ft per person.Avoid during summer. But must visit in winter.
A short walk but a steep climb from the chair car upper station but worthwhile for the breath taking views. Free to visit .
Refreshing Experience. You will feel natures beauty and scenic view of Budapest
Great 360 degree views from the top of this tower which is free to visit and a short uphill walk from the Upper Chairlift Station. You can see Budapest quite clearly and if you Zoom in, can see sites like the City Park and Parliament Buildings. The Tower can get very busy, particularly if theres a school group there.
Its a pretty walk up through the hills of Buda, with an even prettier view from the top. Always quite busy in the summer, but doable. I recommend the cable car on the way back as you get a rather nice view of Pest and the forest below you. Enjoy!
A beautiful Lookout tower with amazing panoramic view. You have to do little bit of hiking to reach this place. The views of sunset is very beautiful from this tower. You can reach here by Chairlift also, and with a bus too till Normafa park and then you can walk for 15,20 mins and youll be here at this amazing place. There are some cafes here as well for drinks and food so youll enjoy your time.
Its top view from zugliget chairlift.
We rode the chairlift to the top of the lift and hiked the rest of the way. A little steep, but manageable, paved all the way. The views are spectacular. Great pics to be found here.
As the saying goes it is not the destination that brings out adventure in a person but the journey towards it. This lookout tower is sitting on a perfect location on top of Normafa with some breath-taking panoramic views and a some details listed about the history of the tower and work made to maintain the tower inside. A Must visit place to all the tourists visiting Budapest.
Such a beautiful lookout tower and the view is incredible!
A very special and charming place. Regardless of the weather, I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the place. Its a picturesque area and should be in your list while visiting Budapest
Very nice scape away from the city, the access is free to the top of the tower, and to the park where it is located and it is possible to hike from/to Normafa Park. The view is very impressive and it is nice in all seasons (just beware of the weather being colder than normal during the winter.
Although Budapest is somewhat difficult to see from the tower, the view of the surrounding hills is great and certainly worth the visit. The chairlift to the top takes roughly ten minutes and was 1800huf for a return trip if I remember correctly. Ive heard that hiking to the top is also worth it if you have more time. There is a cafe inside the tower and inside the chairlift station and there are several food stands next to the station as well. Be prepared for wind and cold at the top, especially around this time of the year
Highest point in the city of Budapest with wonderful view of the city and Danube. Numerous hiking routes to this point exists withing Budapest.
Beautiful place, one of the best lookout in Budapest
Great experience! View is incredible. Make sure you go on a clear day to get the most out of it!
Another breathtaking lookout in Budapest! This one is in my opinion the best lookout in Budapest! Its located on such a good spot that you can see everything from an amazing angle! There are also multiple ways you can get up here without a car! You can take a skilift type of escalator which is really fun and so amazingly beautiful! Or you can take the germek vasút (the children train line!I have been up multiple times and my recommendation is to go up with tram 60 what is also so beautiful and a fun experience. Then take the children train line. And then walk up to the lookout. When you want to go down I recommend to take the skilift down and enjoy the amazing views even more!
If you have a half a day or a day this is the best place to come from Budapest city centre. Easy to reach by cogwheel train and a bit of hiking. Then take the chairlift down to city with an amazing view. The lookout is free to visit. And it can be very wind up there.
Still a recommended lookout in Budapest!360° view to the city and the surrounded nature. The lookout is easily accessable and cosy.
We had an amazing night walk at this years Midsummer night. The air was clear and there was also a nice breeze what freshened us up after the really hot day.We barely met others so it was extremely guiet.Everybody should try this at least once, theres no need to worry about the dark, theres an.alternative path back which doesnt lead through the woods and it has street lamps. For us it remains a memorable walk for sure😊
Located at Normafa Park with a moderate 20 mins hike you come to this amazing Elizabeth lookout. Constructed out of stone and with internal stairs providing access to the various levels which 360’ views of the surrounding areasAccess to the upper level is available but not recommended for those with a fear of heights. With beautiful architecture and attention to detail providing both a beautiful building and accompanying vistas. With a coffee shop and restroom facilities on site this is a great way to spend the day and well worth the visit to Normafa.
The views from this early 20th Century folly are outstanding. Well worth the trek up to the top of the hill. Mind the flies at the top of the tower, though
Wonderful view of Budapest from up high. Nice building with multiple floors. Easy to reach from the Zugliget chairlift.
Very nice view to all of Budapest. You can have a sit and eat, drink and enoy the view. It can be very crowded on the weekends. Would definetly come back here for another hour of enjoying the sun and the view.
Has a stunning out look over the Budapest letting you be able to spot landmarks from a distance such as the parliament making for a fun game of spotting landmarks. But in a more serious sense the accessibility is great as long as you can make your way up the stairs. It is one that is a must to go to if your hanging by the city or just seeking a day go on a hike, run, walk, cycle, you name it. Over all is just an amazing place to go in all situations! 5/5 would recommend.
The highest point in Budapest. A really enjoyable walk/hike to the top or a chair lift if needed. An average cafe inside but the view at the top is amazing. Definitely worth a visit when in the capital.
Worth the extra few steps for the view! Pretty much mandatory to go up this tower if youve already made the trip out here. You can buy a beer (or coffee, tea, ice cream, etcon the main floor and then hang out and really speak in the beauty off this location.
A great viewing tower perched on the highest hill in the area. Great spot for panoramic views to Budapest and surrounding hillsWell maintained.A MUST visit spot.
Beautiful lookout to the city. This time of a year (old ladies summeris warm and sunny, with the most colourful pattern of the forest around. Yet no smog and able to look far.Always windy at the top, be prepared of that. On weekends its crowded but worth a visit even with the kids
Elizabeth lookout is a place what one can visit at any time of the day, year. Its just beutiful in the morning, in the night let it be spring, summer, winter. Its close to the town with taking bus 21, also close by car or bicycle. The latter takes some effort for sure, as the place is located more than 500 meters above sea level. The view is spectacular to all directions. Parliament, Danube all the way along the city with one sight. One thing is needed though: nice, clear weather.:)
It was a tiny castle. It was beautiful. Built-in love for an honored Queen. The narrow curving stairs to the little balconies and open windows with views of the forest made it a magical place to visit in the midst of gorgeous hiking trails.
The views from this tower are breathtaking. Also the top of the tower has a crazy way of making you feel like Superman.. go and check it out!
Amazing place where you can enjoy great view of Budapest. There is no entrance fee, so be prepared that the place is full of tourists. I was there in the middle of October and there the tower was pretty full of tourists, so I can totally imagine how many tourists are there in summer.
Its my second visit to this place, and I still see it as the best lookout in Budapest, I got there by feet from Normafa bus stop, it was a bit hot for walking all that way but up in the castle it was so windy and we could have some fresh air with the incredible view, and we tried the chairlift in our way back which was like a piece of heaven ..I strongly recommend it for people who live in Hungary to visit it more than once a year, and for tourists who will be visiting Budapest for more than three days
Beautiful place with astonishing 360° view. Building consists of 4 levels for viewing that allows not to be overcrowded. There is a small and cozy cafe one the first level which does not accept cards, only cash. Road to this place passes through the nice forest and take about 2km, only the last 400 meters are steep.
Good vista point in nice surroundings. The walk there is very nice starting from Normafa, and it doesnt take long. The view from the top is nice, on clear days you can see far away.
My favourite sight in Budapest. Ignore the chairlift, take the 26 bus to the base of the mountain and enjoy the 2ish kilometre walk up. Its all concreted and easy, even a rubberised running path. On a day when the tourist are flooding the city, I saw maybe 5 people on my walk up to the best views of Budapest. Enjoy.
