161 N High St, Columbus, OH 43215, United States, Columbus
Historic, wood-trimmed pub with an on-site brewery & a menu of surf 'n' turf & other American fare.
We were very disappointed to learn they were not brewing any of their own beers. The bartender was very friendly, though.
Katie the bartender was an awesome the food was amazing . Travis and the rest of the staff are very friendly very welcoming -great atmosphere!
I went in as a single professional woman and requested table for one. The hostess gave me a look them plopped me at a very small table right next to where staff was charging in and out of the kitchen. I sat there for 2 minutes and left. There were many tables. Disrespectful treatment. I would never go back.
Love the ambiance and decor. We stopped in on our way to Hocking Hill for a bite to eat and drink. We got two different chicken platters that were delicious. We enjoyed the beer as well.
Delicious food and a surprising array o whiskies on hand. The atmosphere is classic but refined. Service was slow—nearly half an hour before we ordered—but friendly and helpful.
Went for our anniversary. Made reservations although it wasnt necessary since it was on a Wednesday. Had the Rock Filet, which is so good. Also had the Buckeye and cheesecake desserts, which were also great.
Stopped in just to try a draft and they had a good lunch crowd and the food menu looked very appealing. I had already eaten but the bartender gave me some good info on the draft selection and the beer I had was very good. It will be interesting to go back to have a meal if I am back in Columbus sometime.
This was such a pleasant visit. Awesome food and great drinks in a stunning building!
Meh, beer choices were nothing special, and service sub-par... great building and decor, was left disappointed
The bartender, who day my group and me outside, is Ive of the worst servers Ive felt with in years. As he was sitting us at our table, we mentioned we were just having drinks on the way back to our hotel. Upon hearing this, he set us down and told us with more than a little nastiness, "If you want something to drink come inside and order from the bar." Luckily, a young woman took over as our server. Thats the only reason Im giving three stars. Ive been here several times when visiting columbus, but Im not sure Ill be coming back.
Good food in a convenient location downtown. Oh yeah, great beer too.
Only 2 of their own beers. The rest are guest taps but the selection is not bad...all Ohio locals.Had the Cajun pasta. Very good!
Really good food. Nice beer. Fair service. A lovely location. Beautiful old woodwork and ceiling, and really nice artwork.
Food was delicious, beers were great as well. Service was not fast for us. The only downside was homeless asking for money as we sat outside.
Surprisingly small beer selection but the place is super cool and the food was good!
One of the worse meals I’ve ever had. The pork chop was so dry it was like chewing on shoe leather. Not sure if the reviews are fake or what, but I’m not sure how anyone could give this place over one star. Save your money and go anywhere, but here.
Loved it,food waz awesome pple were very nice, loved the stained glass windows & picture everywhere beautiful place.
Great place to stop for a beer! Bartender very knowledgeable and friendly. Great selection of draft beer, wine, and liquor. This is the second oldest bar in Columbus. We’ll be back!
Amazing food and great drinks. If Julian the bartender is in ask for him! He is awesome and very knowledgeable if you arent from the area
Came in to The Elevator for last call and Julian raised us up like LeBron just gave Josh Groban the ball. The crew needed a drink after a long day of being on the brink, but this ship don’t stop, and this ship don’t sink. Keep up the good work sir, we’ll be back next time we’re in town.----@high_morel
Such a cool building! The windows, tile flooring, and bar were all beautiful! Our waiter was super cool and gave really good recommendations. Our food was excellent. We will definitely be back!
Extremely great food and awesome service Especially if Cassie is your server. Will be coming back for sure. Loved the environment and the food selection.
We stopped in at Elevator Brewing for the first time during Restaurant Week this weekend. The atmosphere was very cool and the wait staff was attentive and friendly. I ordered the winter harvest salad to start, followed by the Cajun chicken penne, and the crepes for dessert. None of the food was “bad,” but I think they could improve by adding in more flavor or unique spices. It was all simple and standard. I was hoping for a spicy Cajun chicken penne but it did not live up to my expectations. Unfortunately, I don’t think the trip and money are worth it for the food.
Enjoyed the food, nice variety. Was suprised they only had 1 of their own brews on tap, but had other guest brewery options. The only drawback was our pints sitting empty a couple of times while we waited for a server to reappear, and then 5-10 extra minutes the 2nd time when he forgot to put in the new round order. Neat looking place though.
Stopped in for the first time for one. Neat place with good conversation and had cider on tap. Will go back when I have more time.
Great experience. Dropped in on an early Friday and bar was amazing and good beer selection. Love the stain glass, history of the bar and art. 2nd oldest bar in Columbus
Pumped to be back in Columbus and try one of my old favorite drinking spots, my brother and sister-in-law decided to grab a bite after the crew game, but we were all disappointed with the food, unfortunately. Service was very good and the beer was tasty, but I got the fish and chips and it tasted like the fish had been pulled straight from a box in the freezer and dropped right into hot oil - some of the toughest fish I have ever eaten. It came with fries and they were pretty good; however, the pot stickers were dry and did not have the flavor I would expect, and the poutine needed more cheese curds and gravy was devoid of flavor (perhaps been sitting out and re-heated). Love the vibe and location of this establishment though and would like to give it another try in the future, at least to grab a brew!
My second time there for dinner. I got the fish and chips and it was not good. Too much batter on the fish and the fries were limp, like they had been held over. The slaw was about a tablespoon in size in a condiment cup. My guest had the chicken sandwich and said it was just okay. The Sauerkraut balls were tasty. The server did a nice job and was friendly. But the food doesnt live up to the nice and unique atmosphere, in my opinion.
Average beer and menu had couple of beers that were not available. Food was OK, as couldnt figure why white cheddar on a Thai salad.
I stopped here very recently while in Columbus and this is definitely a very unique brewery. The historic building is incredible. We only got appetizers here but we got the Kraut Balls, Pot Stickers and Calamari and it was all very good! We had a friendly waiter as well.Definitely recommend from me!
I cant believe Ive never visited this place before. Its a beautiful old building. Craft beer on draft, too bad that the brewery is no longer around. They did have a yummy amber ale from elevator still. Several vegan options on the menu. The staff is excellent!
Stayed at the Courtyard around the corner from here. Had their hamburger/fries and an Amber beer. Everything was really good. The building is fantastic, they dont often make them like this anymore.
We’ve been here several times and always had a great experience so we decided to reach out when we needed a place for our rehearsal dinner. With all the Covid restrictions we were very worried we couldn’t find a place to accommodate us. Elevator was willing to help us. We had to do 3 tables of 10 each but they put us to the back so we were relatively close to each other. They did a phenomenal job. Service was excellent and so was the food.
I dont know whats happening with the people saying the food isnt good. Haha Weve are here a few times and the food is generally delicious and creative. The setting is also very cozy with original architecture still in tact. Here was a pork belly risotto that you must get if you ever have the chance!!
This place was really cool..it has a lot of history, it use to be a brothel back in the day. The woodwork, and the lighting give this place a lot of character. The food looked amazing, and the drinks were good. There is an antique pool table in the back, and it is free to play. Definitely a place to check out if you are downtown.
I dont get it. Hip for the sake of being hip. Everyone who got food was unimpressed. You can get the exact same Cajun chicken pasta at Ocharleys for $11. Incredibly loud inside, not from music, just people. 2 cocktails and 2 beers cost $34 after their added on gratuity. If you dont care about how much you spend on mediocre food and drinks and are only there for the trendy factor, youll love it.FYI: "sweet corn puree" is creamed corn! Call it what it is!
Nice historic setting. The first hometown brewery in Columbus. Vegan and Vegetarian options available on their menu is a bonus! Beer and service is great but food tase awful.
Wow. Second best brewpub Ive been to. Huge number of taps, wide variety from light to dark, bitter to sweet. Dont miss the sauerkraut balls.
Neat old building. Great service, good food and friendly people. Excellent place for cold beverage and good food. Next trip to Columbus I will return!
I went to this place last week and it was definitely a really good experience. We had a get together and chose this place .We were 15 people in all and each one of us was paid attention by the staff .This was probably the best part of visiting this place. The food was also delicious and drinks were good as well. The most impressive thing about this place was the treatment by the staff. Thankyou Elevator Brewery And Draught Haus for such a wonderful experience.
Friendly staff, and great atmosphere! We didnt get to experience too much since we just stopped for a quick lunch, but I look forward to stopping back the next time Im in Columbus. Thanks
Classy decor, tastey food, good selection of house-brewed spirits, and amazing service (special thanks to our server Sam/"cupcake"!
Very beautiful interior. I was told the bar was from the Chicago world fair in 1800 something and won the award for best bar, they have some very nice stained glass windows inside as well. The bartender was very informative and entertaining, he made an out of towner feel like a regular.I had a few flights of beer and honestly only the nut brown ale tasted good. I consider myself someone who has tried a lot of beer but this wasnt an appealing style for me. I didnt try any food.
Amazing food plus an amazing craft brewery. The food and drinks were not overpriced and the interior and exterior decor was stunning as well. A great place for a date or just a weekend hangout.
I was in town for work and dined here 3 nights in a row. The chefs special each night were amazing. Happy Hour from 4 to 7! Great atmosphere, drinks, and food.
Amazing mussels as an appetizer and main Course....aaahhhhh....so good!!! I tried the stuffed crab scallops and they were a.m.a.z.i.n.g!!! Get this for sure...end of story.
Very good food and service. Loved the calemari and the Seafood dish at Elevator Brewery. Both were delicious.
I had not been here for a meal since The Elevator took over this space. I was very impressed with what they have done. It is a beautiful old space with a throwback downtown feel. The food was very good, the service was excellent, and of course their beer is also very good.
Loved the atmosphere and all around look. The staff was on top of their game but I have to give it 4 stars because the sides were bland and Im not a huge fan of having to cook my own steak. I know its a treat but I feel like if I wanted to cook my own food I would just stay at home.
My first time here and it was wonderful. The waitress was so wonderful, helpful, and knowledgeable. They steak was probably the best steak I have ever had and the appetizers were great as well. I got the chorizo nachos. Definitely would recommend.
