Platz der Deutschen Einheit 1, 20457 Hamburg, Germany, Langenhorn
The city's tallest building, this Herzog & de Meuron landmark concert venue overlooks the harbor.
It has a great view and great acoustics. When you go up to the terrace, Hamburg is at your feet. It is almost the meeting point of the rivers coming from all over the city. You can also see the liveliness of the port and shipyard around.
When visiting the place, definitely go on the observation deck. Such amazing views from there.
You can visit the building for free, you just need to go to one of the offices outside to get a free entrance ticket. The buildings architecture is amazing and you have a great view over Hamburg and its harbour. There is also the possibility to drink and eat and have a great panoramic view. Be aware that it is a very crowded place with hundreds of people visiting it in the same time. Enjoy!
What a spectacular view. The best viewpoint in Hamburg. This iconic building is one of the tallest viewpoints in Hamburg, and the sunset I watched at its deck was unforgettable. The great city view is hard to come by. This is a must place to go in Hamburg.
Very beautiful modern building built on the base of the old brick warehouse. It also provides free observation deck (you need a ticket - you can get it in the hall of the Elbphilharmonie). You can get to the observation deck on the escalator which has very interesting and nice design. The observation deck provides great views of the HafenCity and the Elbe river port.Must-visit place in Hamburg, along with the surrounding HafenCity and Speicherstadt.Nice views of the Elbphilharmonie with trees can be seen from the nearby Platz der Deutschen Einheit.
Modernist building woth a free access to the balcony 360 where you can see the port, boats and a part of old city. Inside the floor you have the free wc toilets, cafe, restaurant.
Dominant point of the Hamburg coast. Beautiful building. Entrance to the viewpoint is free - definitely worth it. A view of the city from a different angle.
One of a kind concert hall. The plaza is free, it is worth it to attend a concert, though the one we visited was a disaster. Very unique architecture and incredible view of the city.
The elevators are so cool and really build up an excitement to see whats at the top! Then youre welcomed with a beautiful view of the port! Had a lot of fun!
Wonderful view! Marvelous architecture! Amazing acoustics inside. We watched an opera last night and even if we didnt understand the language was truly moved by the performance and the acoustics. A real experience which is highly recommended. It is above Westin hotel and has a free view deck. Highly recommend to watch a performance than just a guided tour to actually experience the superb acoustics.
A clear 5-star deserving place. Ticket to go up to the balcony is only 2€. Instead of waiting in the line, i would highly recommend to buy the ticket online from the phone, which takes only 2 minutes and then you are good to go up. Great piece of architectural work. I would really like to attend a concert inside it one day.
Its not a mere concert hall, its a spaceship! Absolutely worth visiting just for experiencing the stunning visuals and view of the port, but acoustics is out of this world too. Cant recommend enough. If you came unprepared, check the concert tickets on the day you are visiting, they usually keep some for the last moment.
Building is very beautiful, free to visit (just get your ticket there). The views from Hamburg are great and there’s a cafe and a nice store there as well.Want to return for a concert!
Unique architecture and for a very sensible ticket (2€), you get an excellent view from the upper deck of the whole city. Definitely worth your time if its your first time in Hamburg after its completion
It is free to go up, you just have to ask for free tickets at the door. The view upstairs is super nice and they have free toilets and a restaurant.
Gorgeous architecture from the very best. Herzog & De Meuron have created this signature building for Hamburg and constructed it with a huge cost overrun over all budgets. But the resulting building on top of a former storehouse in the Elbe river is beyond fantastic. The roof represents a wave, the Plaza is full of light and offers spectacular views over the city and the Harbour. The concert hall is grouped around the stage with no visitor more than 30 meters away from the orchestra director. The accoustic as heard in the season opening concert of the Philadelphia Orchestra directed by Yannick Nézet-Séguin is perfect. Spent a perfect day in and around Elbphilharmonie.
Beautiful building and its architecture. Visitors can visit the middle view point of the Elbphilharmonie at free of cost. There is a long accelerator to reach that view point. Enjoy beautiful sunset and river view.
This place is for people who love live music. Awesome view and you can take photos with panorama city on a background
Fantastic place. The concerts were sold out for my time in Hamburg. You must book in advance. But also the visit of the building and the view from the top floor overlooking the port are worth it.
A place to be in Hamburg , you can go in for a short time free ( without chargebut you need to stand at the entrance for a ticket. The views are amazing - you can go around on the big balcony and see whole ( roundviewHamburg and the harbour. There is also a cafe .
Very beautiful interior and exterior. Entrance to the outdoor balcony half way up the building is free although you do need to pick up a free ticket at the entrance. Not much to do other than enjoy the view and take pictures. The escalator upstairs is recognized by many tourists as it is a long beautiful ride up.
Beautiful building, you take a tour of the deck for free. Amazing view from the deck, best view of Hamburg in my opinion!Definitely worth a visit. If you want to go to a concert you need to book early (2 weekstickets are sold out quickly.Very accessible by car (big parking lot).
Tickets are free, but you need to get them. A good place to view hamburg. One side is Harbour, the other side is the city.
A mesmerizing architecture. A must see places top ranking is Elbphilharmonie. The entry ticket is free. At the top you can see both Elbe docks and the city view.
The most iconic building in Hamburg and one of the most amazing Opera houses in Europe.Built at the end of the Hafen City, the Elbphilarmonie is immediately recognizable in Hamburgs skyline. People can visit it for free, enjoy its bar and restaurant, or stay in the hotel inside. The tickets for concerts and events are sold online, many months before, so make sure you plan in advance!
When in Hamburg the Elbphilarmonie is a major highlight. Firstly because of the extraordinary architecture of the building, set on an island of the river in an area of recovered storage houses and port infrastructure. Then the concert hall itself, a marvel of acoustics. The stage is surrounded by public so its possible to see the orchestra from all points of view. All the seats have great visibility of the stage.
Have to say that this place was not on my list of what to see in Hamburg. And for sure it would be a mistake not to see it. The building is impressive. Sleep in this hotel for a day has no bee great enjoyment. The entry is cheap (3 euros if I remember welland possible to book on the website.
This is a must see when in Hamburg. You can get onto the platform which is half way up the building for free, but you have to get a "ticket" to get through the entrance. Its a stunning building with the most amazing views! Try out the Stoertebecker bar when there, lovely beers and very good food!
Very beautiful view over the harbour and Hamburgs Speicherstadt. Impressive building with café... A must-see when youre in Hamburg.
One of the incredible buildings I have ever seen. The entrance to see the panoramic view is about 2€ and totally worth it.I really hope I have the change to see a concert here nest time.
The picture doesn’t do it justice. :))You can go up to the restaurant/hotel but you need to get a ticket - which is for free. 😍The view from up is pretty amazing!
Obviously the most famous and (in my opinionimpressive building in Hamburg! Even though the citizens are not proud of it’s price everyone is secretly proud of it! Amazing events, great gastronomy, spectacular view over the City! Definitely must see! Big Bravo to Herzog and de Meuron!!
What a lovely place!Remarkable architecture, spectacular views from both inside the Plaza (make sure to catch the sunset or a night-city view from thereand to the building from the city & ferry. Take a ferry #72 to enjoy breathtaking views of the building - with the nice weather, the clouds & the sky seamlessly continue through the building, its amazing. :)
A must see if you visit Hamburg. Its nice to look at from the outside, but also the inside has much to offer. The escalator is a masterpiece, the platform for public visit is beautiful and the hotel rooms, the Hotel itself and the concert hall are all a architectural masterpiece as well.
Great place, nice view. Try to enjoy the bar from the hotel on top. Its expensive but an experience. We had The humus and the olives before our concert, they were delicious.
Fantastic piece of architecture with a great viewing platform. We went on a Sunday and tickets were free.
The Elphi: one of the most striking (modernbuildings in Hamburg was designed by the Swiss architectural firm Herzog & De Meuron. Building history is such a typical case of too late and too much. The (beautifulbuilding was completed years later than estimated and the final construction costs of €886 million meant a budget overrun by a whopping 925%! However, the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra has a concert hall with excellent acoustics and the city of Hamburg has again gained a real "landmark" that is very popular with tourists.
Very cool place to visit. We didnt see a show but would love to someday!! Very cool spot. Stop across the street to get free tickets for entry.
Was there twice watched the building of this super fantastic concert hall the Elbphilharmonie is a new concert hall based in Hamburg opened in 2017 the Elphi was built on top of an old warehouse in the Hafin City planned with a estimated cost of 77 million euros and a construction time of three years expenses climbed to 789 million euros over the course of the construction period of almost ten years the Elbphilarmonie is considered as one of the largest and most acoustically advanced concert halls in the world
We heard the acoustics of the space is exceptionally good. Now we know the rumours didnt lie. It really is amazing. The design of interior is always attractive. Great musical experience.
It was foggy, but still great to see the skyline. Theres a little table with a keyboard to play music on, and lots of great views
Beautiful architecture. A must visit place in Hamburg. Do take tickets downstairs its for free (atleast for nowand go up with escalators. One of the coolest escalators I saw. Nice view of ships and jetty from the top. The top view of churches adds to the beautiful view from here. Have a coffee and enjoy the scenery.PS:The tickets to see concert hall are different.
Went to the observation platform. Its not as high as I expected but there are still some nice views over the harbour. Huge lines for the tickets, but you can skip them by buying the tickets online.Seating was extremely limited.Theres a souvenir shop and a cafe up there. So you can have a break with the nice views.
A work of art to see the architecture is very beautiful. If you you drive directly to the Elbphilharmonie and from the water you have an unobstructed view,Its a good thing that visiting the plaza is free. But not inside.
Entering the building is free but you will have to get a free ticket at the entrance ( due to covid there is a limit of people that can enter the building for a specific time frame)They have tickets with a tour included to see the inside of the building. They were already sold out when we got there so you might book them in advance.
Even if you do not like the classics, this object certainly deserves attention! Its hard to believe, but this spectacular modern building was formerly a warehouse building. It is located on a peninsula between the famous HafenCity warehouse district of Hamburg and the existing cargo port. The construction of the cultural center, on the roof of a former warehouse, lasted about nine and a half years and became one of the most high-profile and scandalous long-term construction projects in Germany. The reason was the cost estimate, which increased from the planned 77 million euros to 789. The Elbphilharmonic Hall is light, glassy, expressive, it seems like either a crystal or an iceberg floating along the Elbe, and the glass panels form waves on the facade of the building and reflect the sky and water .Everyone can go up to the balcony encircling the Philharmonic for free, and from a height of 30 m look at the city and the port. The last photo shows what the Philharmonic looks like inside. Here, in addition to large and small concert halls, there is also a hotel, restaurants and even residential apartments and multi-level parking.
This wave-y building is made of glass on top of an old brick building. You can buy a ticket for 2 eur to go up to the viewpoint.Excellent views of city from the top. The area is quite windy because its on the bank of the elbe river and an open area.
Amazing theatre with a lovely and open layout, not cramped or hemmed in like other, older halls. The performance was great and all seats seemed as though they had a good view.It is a little tricky to navigate the space but the seats are comfortable and the acoustics are exceptional.Definitely worth a visit.
The building is great architecture, the views are great with good weather - I still don’t understand though why they included an Urine factory in such a prestigious building. Haven’t had such a bad smelling Public toilet since gas stations on german motorways have been privatised and are paid now.
One of the main attractions of the city to visit. We went up there to have a view on the city and harbour. It must be special during sunset and sunrise time. But I would love to come back for a classical music concert.
